Updating with Adobe Application Manager will not work

I get an error as I am trying to update my Adobe Suite software.  How do I get this to work properly?  I have never had issues with this until now.
Any help is appreciated.

Okay now I get this when I go into Dreamweaver or Photoshop to do updates.
"Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.2

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!

Hey, I am getting an error in updating with 'Adobe Application Manager' "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." Anyone able to help? Tried restarting etc. No avail.
I am running Adobe CS5 on my new laptop. Any help would be great.

    @them,
I'm just a user like you who volunteers my time here. Your technical question requires the response from a support engineer.
I do sincerely think you'll get a better response by asking in the Downloading, Installing, Setup forum which I referenced in post #3. They have support engineers who monitor that forum for these kind of issues. This forum can only deal with general issues. Sorry.

  • Adobe Application Manager CC not working after last update

Last night I avrived home and sat down to work on my website and other side projects after a long day at work.  I opened my application manager and it notified me that it had an update.  So naturally I agreed and was excited to see the new upgrade.  Sadly after a couple hours of trying to figure things out on to why I wasn't able to access my Adobe Muse and Adobe Application manager after the update I had to give up.   I was online with tech support about the issue and was given a link to download the application manager yet again (this would have been my 3rd attempt to do so, and the link that was given to me was outdated).  After finding out that this was going to take longer than I had hoped asked if the teck support could help me resolve the Muse issue.  I was told that I'd be transfered to the Muse support and never was after an hour or so.
I'm now still stuck not being able to use muse (after a couple re-installs) and not able to use my application manager.
Currently when I lunch my application manager my backgound decktop goes black and the application manager pops up and is white with no options to choose and shows nothing.  When I try to use Muse  it askes me to log in, and then gives me an error message asking me to please try again later....
Can anyone help, has anyone had this issue before??

  • Adobe Application Manager does not work

I am afraid this is not the appropriate forum, but it is the closest I could find, sorry about that.
I experience a problem where I can't update my Adobe products, the application manager gives two different erros.
I've come across the issue when I tried to update Photoshop CS 6 Extended 13.0 x64 and Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.0
Since the problem seems to be related to the Application Manager, and not Ps and Pr themselves, I posted the problem here.
When I try to update either of the programs from within ( help > updates... )
I get this error, and in the preferences only the Extension Manager is visible.
When I download the updates from here
Adobe - Photoshop : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop 13.0.6 update for CS6
Adobe - Premiere Pro : For Macintosh : Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.5 Update
And try to install them following the instructions I get this error:
    translated:
    Updating failed
    Can't apply updates
This patch is not for you. Use the menu Help in your product to check for updates and to display a list of the newest available updates.
Contact customer service if the problems persist.
    I'm using:
late 2011 15 inch Macbook Pro
    OS X 10.9.5
    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
as part of Adobe CS6 Production Premium:
I wondered if maybe this wasn't the most recent version of the application manager,
but on the downloads page http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
I could not find updates for this product.
I have not yet tried to update After Effects (it did not occur to me that they weren't up to date until I stared experiencing a bug in Photoshop) and I don't really use the other programs in my collection.
If it is useful to try and update the others as well to understand the problem, I'll try to do that.

Anhoilan the most recent log file seems to be from 2014.  I thought you had removed and reinstalled the software after the running the CC Cleaner tool?  Is this not the case?
I would recommend beginning the process again.  You can find directions on how to run the uninstallers and use the CC Cleaner Tool at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6.  Please make sure to run the uninstallers prior to running the CC Cleaner Tool.
I would also recommend removing the contents of /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/ prior to reinstalling CS6.
Looking again at the installation log folder it looks like you evaluated InDesign CC.  This would upgrade the Adobe Application component.  Complete removal of all Adobe Creative software titles and reinstallation will ensure you have the correct shared components installed for that application.

  • Cannot get Acrobat to install, Adobe Application Manager is not working!?

How do I get Acrobat to install properly? Each time I try, I get the Adobe Application Manager:
cannot select anything in the upper drop down. and if I click accept….nothing happens!

    Hi Shotgun981,
Adding to what Jeff & Sheena shared, have you got any other product installed on this machine? Is that working fine ? Can you please navigate to the below mentioned location and advice if that worked for you or not.

Rename the above mentioned folder to SLStore_old and try and launch Acrobat . If this doesn't work , please make sure that we have full permissions on the folder mentioned in the kb article. (Note: this Kb article is only for sharing the location and the actual problem is not described in it)

  • Trying to download premier pro and adobe application manager will not stop the four square dance.

I'm simply trying to download the program. I would like to purchase it and start using it, but AAM will not allow me to download it. It just sits and spins forever. Ideas?

  • My "Adobe installer" is not running  and "adobe application manager" will not update....

    My question?
When did making art get so technical? Also, have the software engineers at Adobe finally  begun to shed the Cheetos from their beards and then crown themselves as artists extraordinaire? Well good for them! Bad for me! No offense, but I've  been wrestling with this for quite a while. Without a single Cheeto.....
Could somebody at least tell me that this problem is mostly imaginary? I can relate to that actually, one time in Santa Cruz...
Bridge crashes frequently, especially during a drag and drop action. Photoshop crashes less frequently, but when even a mere moment's worth of my eternal genius has been shed, all life weeps, including you...unknowingly...
I was then instructed by the Adobe to perform a strange ritual using an ancient language called the "DOS" and to inquire for the Adobe of the little known " fsutil file setshortname" routine. Then the Adobe would know my true name, and where my short paths were (?).I tried very hard to comply with the demands of the Adobelites who lounged in the Cloud but fled to this place for counsel./
This is all true. My mother said so.
Thanks, and with much too much time on his hands,
    Erich

From what I understand from this message, it would seem that your Reader passed from "not working" to "now working", whatever you may mean by these two expressions. I am glad.
May I suggest that next time you have a question, please try to state it clearly and also give enough and accurate details about your problem?
It would also be useful if you coud mark this question as Answered.

  • Installation Error: "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working"

Alright, so I did about 4/5 hours of googling and searching and trial&error, and FINALLY got passed the issue of a "pending machine restart" at the beginning of the Adobe Installer's work. (All explained http://forums.adobe.com/thread/872455?tstart=0.)
The issue with the Application Manager is what is stopping me now.
Once it gets to about 3/4 through the installation, a 'Microsoft Windows' window pops up stating "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working". It searches for a solution, finds not, and gives me no choice but to "Close Program".
Don't know how to fix this... please help. I've been searching for nearly 3 hours now trying anything I can find or think of doing. If you have had a similar situation or even a suggestion, please let me in on it! Thank you all very much!
    -Rebecca

I'm not even sure what it was downloaded to. Should I delete the application
manager and the download it again with ie to see if it works then? And if
not, try it again only with Firefox?
Edit: I tried this and had no luck. Need some serious help...
