Like said, if a problem isn't explicitely fixed by a BIOS update, don't.
Choppy video sounds like a problem with the graphics card driver.
But I did this week's guessing just in the other post, so please say:
What the BSOD say.
What game is choppy - say em all, please.
PSU is also very good to know.
WoW
Tibia
I got good fps at both games but they are choppy.
And i cant read what the BSOD say becuase it is only showing like 2 sec then restarting.

Whether you suck at computers or not has nothing to do with it. We are here to help each other out with solving problems and advice/warnings where needed.
What makes you think a BIOS update will fix your problem? What you decribed does not look like a BIOS problem.
Read this >> Forum USB BIOS flashtool << and >> motherboard & BIOS ID << Download & run this >> Central Brain ID << it will give you the OPN number of your CPU.
First i have one question..what is "VIA Serial ATA Controller - 0591" a program says that i dont have that updated. It is under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers".
Damn i just saw that im using the ADX6000IAA6CZ  (125W)!!!

    Hi ..
    Might be corrupted preferences.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.screensaver.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.screensaver.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac then reset your screen saver.

  • I updated from Mavericks to OS X Yosemite without backup

    Hello,
    First , i have a
    iMac (24-inch Mid 2007)
Processor 2.4 GHz intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Storage Capacity 32.23 GB free of 319.21 GB
I haven't try any temporary fixes  other than restart and download again.
Problem: I update from Mavericks to SO Yosemite without back-up. Everything is great but now iPhoto will not open even after I downloaded the iPhoto Library Upgraded available from Apple.
Question: Anyone else having the same problem and if so how do i fix this?
Problem: I have an external hard drive of 500 GB for my Time Machine but afraid to use it because it might delete my previous work  and photo.
Question: How can i recover my photos?
    Thanks,
    Eric

I have a 2008 iMac and a 2008 MacBook Pro and had the same issue with iPhoto after installing Yosemite.
I downloaded the latest iPhoto and then got the message to run the iPhoto Library Upgrader which I did. After that I opened the new iPhoto and it upgraded all my pics.
Are you sure you have the latest iPhoto - available free from the App Store?

When I am playing my ipod and a song ends it will either freeze up or continue to the next song without updating on the screen. After 2 song the Ipods stpos playing unless I choose another song and the same thing continues to happen?

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Installing Yosemite without Apple Id

I'm selling my iMac, and want to reinstall Yosemite, but it prompts me to input an apple id to do so. If I proceed, will this link my apple Id to the computer again? I don't want to go through the hassle of selling a computer with no OS, and explaining to them how to install it with their own ID. So is there a way to install yosemite without and ID/will using my ID bind it to the computer?

You definitely don't want to enter your Apple ID. This would give a purchaser access to your account.
Please see this Apple Help note:
What to do before selling or giving away your Mac - Apple Support
    which says, among other things:
'After you reformat your hard drive and reinstall OS X, the computer restarts to a Welcome screen and asks you to choose a country or region. If you want to leave the Mac in an out-of-box state, don't continue with the setup of your system. Instead, press Command-Q to shut down the Mac. When the new owner turns on the Mac, the Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.'
It also links to a page telling you how to erase and install Yosemite (though you appear to have done this):

cannot be the full story you tell. The exception is thrown in the context of a prepareForDML, which is called on entities for the Create / Update and Delete use case. I also see a failed rollback. So there must be something you do before this happens during a page refresh

  • How do I update Safari without new OSX?

I have a 1 GB Intel core 2 running Safari 5.0.6 It no works on all sites. How can I update Safari without installing a new OS? My OS is 10.5.8

Where do I get new OSX??
    You start here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
That disk updates your computer to OS10.6 but also give you the Mac App Store application, the mechanism for all current and future upgrades.
However, newer Mac OS versions may need more RAM than you computer shipped with to run acceptably. Yours probably shipped with 2GB; the current Mac OS--10.10 Yosemite--is hard to run on less than 4GB. You model's RAM can be upgraded to 4GB officially but, with a newer, larger (and more expensive) special module, you can increase it to 6GB.

How can I update Safari without updating the OS? I presently have 10.7.5 and 1.6.1
I am getting too many notices that my browser is out of date...

PS, a note to Apple. You use terms like Mountain Lion,  Yosemite, etc. But in other places you use
10.6, 11.7, etc. Could you be consistent? use one or the other, not both. Please. Or always use both together.

Shoot Apple, you don't make things easy. I don't want to upgrade OS as you now require an itunes account to get upgrades, and I'm against that. (until I have to).
So I switched to the chrome browser, that works.
PS, Ralph, yes, I can lookup the version numbers, but I have not felt the need to memorize them. My question is why does apple make it so difficult that we have to memorize the version number to name correspondence?

  • How can I restore my sons itouch to original settings without doing the restore through iTunes? He can't remember his passcode and when I try to restore through iTunes it never completes the update/restore without timing out?!?!

HOw can I restore my sons itouch to original settings without going through iTunes restore? When I plug into iTunes it will never complete the update/restore without timing out? He can't remember his password. I can't get my iTunes to update to the newest level either without timing out. Please help!

The thread title differs from the original post, sorry for the confusion.  I read password instead of passcode.
The only way past a passcode lock is by entering the passcode.  Refer to HT1212 iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen:
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
As for timing out during the restore...
If there isn't any antivirus or firewalls in the way, I would try restoring from a different user account or even a different computer.  If still unable to restore without timing out, I would try a different network.

  • Macbook upgraded from 10.5.8 to mountain lion. I lost the update when I tried to restore my old information. How can I get my update back without paying again?

I took my mac to an iStore in South Africa however my country does not have an iStore. Macbook upgraded from 10.5.8 to mountain lion. I lost the update when I tried to restore my old information. How can I get my update back without paying again?

Ok, that sounds like a valid approach...but now the question is, when you say you lost the upgrade when you tried to restore, exactly what do you mean?  Restore from a Time Machine backup, or another kind of backup?  What happened to the operating system when you did that?
If it damaged the operating system, you should be able to recover it by restarting your computer holding either the Option key (should result in a grey screen that shows the macintosh hard drive and a recovery hard drive), or by holding the Command and R keys while starting.
You can use the recovery hard drive to reinstall Mac OS X either way.  If the Option key restart, click on the recovery hard drive to boot from that.
Then with either approach you will have a screen with a drop-down that gives you choices, such as install Mac OS X, Disk Utility, Terminal.  You will want to use Install (or Reinstall) Mac OS X...note, you must be connected to the internet from this point on.

  • Yosemite login screen

How to change Yosemite login screen background? I tried that library/ cache/ change photo with png format but it isn't work. It there any other way to change this Yosemite login screen blur back ground?

Also experiencing this on my Late-2013 15" rMBP...it wasn't present during the early OSX 10.10 betas but has been persistent over the last few and now with the full release.
I have done a full, clean install as well to see if something was fubared in the settings but nope. What a really silly issue to have. 10.10 wasn't ready for primetime, these aren't the type of bugs that people should be experiencing.
What I can say though is that for me, this issue is limited to when i'm using an external display. If I use my laptop without anything connected externally it doesn't happen.
