What can I upgrade on the msi gs60 ghost pro and msi gs60 ghost pro 3K edition. I'm considering on buying a msi gs60 ghost pro 3K edition on newegg but I don't want to be stuck with a 128 GB SSD and 12 GB of RAM

So far what i've been able to see on my gs60 ghost pro (2pe), ram is upgradable, you have to n2 slots where there is only 1 in 128 gb ssd (weird size not the new standard), the normal 2,5" drive is an easy upgradable.
Ask if there is something else you need to know.

also, make sure the external is mounted on either machine before launching iTunes.

Restart the MBP and immediately hold the option key down. Release the key when you see the Apple logo. The computer will boot and show you a screen with two hard drive icons.
Select Recovery and hit Return.
On the new screen, select Disk Utility and hit Return.
In DU do this:
In the list at the left, select the name of your hard drive. (Be sure to select the name that’s indented to the right in the list, not an item at the far left.)
Click First Aid.
If Disk Utility tells you the disk is about to fail, back it up and replace it. You can’t repair it.
Click Repair Disk.
When that is done, click Repair Permissions. Be patient!
When that is done, quit DU and restart in the usual way.

I would suggest that you purchase the SSD through a third party source. You will save money that way.
Regarding the performance, go to the OWC web site. They have bench tested their SSD vs conventional HDD and have published the results for anyone to see,
The difference between the 128GB and the 256GB drives is capacity, no practical change to performance.

865 Pro and MSI tv-tuner

Hello. I own a 865 PRO and this MSI tv-tuner http://www.compbyte.de/images/big/barebone_tvtuner.jpg which I havent really had time to care about, but now I want to get it started and connect it so I got a few questions.
1. Are they even compatible? Because I have problems getting sound from the tuner... I have connected the internal Yellow cable from the tuner to the inside of my 865 PRO. Is that enough? In the manual it say something about a remote cable connector but I cant seem to locate this inside my barebone.
2. Where can I find drivers online for that tv-tuner?
3. Does the tuner work in other pc's and not only in MSI's barebones?
4. Any drivers that work with Windows Media Center?

you should be able to use the drivers for the TV@nywhere Master, it is basically the same card, but without the FM radio chipset

I have installed this card WITH the latest drivers on a boxed retail D845WN, an AMD 1800, AND another MSI 845PE MAX
board and my results have been, to say the least, angering...This card runs PERFECTLY with all other boards EXCEPT(u guessed it)THE MSI BOARD! I almost cannot believe that such a HUGE problem lingers with this particular line of MOBOS and I have A HUGE PROBLEM with this...

Dual Core Center- MSI P6N SLI Platinum and MSI 8800 GTS 640

I have both the MSI 650i MOBO and the MSI 8800 GTS vidcard. When using an Asus P5B Dlx MOBO and this vidcard, Dual Core Center was installed and displayed the information for the videocard and allowed a mild OC. Now with both MSI products in the case, Dual Core Center only displays the information on the MOBO-- no 8800 GTS information. The tab at the top for the VGA does not bring up anything. ??? I have tried installing the version on each one of the disks that came with each piece of equipment again and it doesn't seem to make a difference, it doesn't work. I downloaded the most recent version of the utility from the MSI site and still get only the MOBO information. How do I get the display for the video card.
Or since the MSI utilities typically are listed on the forums as not being the greatest, what else can I/should I be using instead?

Running a P6N SLI Platinum and a MSI 7900GTO with Dualcorecenter 2004 and everything is ok.
Never installed any driver from the MSI CD which comes with the board or graphics card. All drivers are downloaded
from Nvidia.
Maybe the 8800 series is not supported yet.

MSI P45 Neo3-FR and MSI HD4850 signal loss

My computer:
MSI P45 Neo3-FR
MSI HD4850
E8400 E0
2x2Gb DDR2 800MHz (MDT)
Samsung F1 320Gb
Toughpower Qfan 500W PSU
Vista 64-bit
The problem:
The motherboard came with BIOS version 1.0 which didn't support the E8400 E0. To fix that I had to update to version 1.3, which solved the processor issue but now the graphics card loses the signal at random while playing just about any game and after restarting the computer sometimes keeps on rebooting a couple of times. I read at the german tomshardware forum of someone with a similar problem that solved the problem by using BIOS version 1.2 but that isn't really an option for me since it doesn't support my processor. So any ideas?

According to the ati webpage the Toughpower Qfan 500W is on the supported list for HD4850/70 though. edit: Just noticed there is a new bios v1.4 available so I'll try that out and report back.
edit2: Ok, 1.4 was a disaster and wouldn't even let me reinstall Vista without bluescreens so now I'm trying out 1.2 and it seems to be working ok so far although it doesn't officially support my cpu.

Windows), and two machines that are not used simultaneously, typically a laptop and a desktop.
The license and the installation DVD or download are platform specific. The Mac installer will not work on Windows and vice versa.

CS6 Premier Pro and Black Magic Intensity Pro not working?

I am using the trial version of CS6 Premier pro. First the Playback settings in the drop down menu next to the viewer is greay out. Second, when I go into the playback setting through the settings menu I dont see the Black Magic as an option to send my signal out to. Is this a limitation of the trial version?
I have updated everything and the Black Magic works perfect with my CS5 and Final Cut Pro.. Any clues?

The new Mercury Transmit plug-ins from Blackmagic and other hardware partners are selected in a different way than the previous player plug-ins from CS5.5 and earlier. To turn on transmit, go to the Preferences, in the Playback area. There, if the plug-ins for your third-party hardware are installed correctly, you'll see options for the Audio Device and Video Device. Once you select the third-party hardware there, it can be used across sequences and projects. If the transmit plug-in provides a setup dialog for additional options, you'll see a small setup option on the right side of the Video Device option.
And of course, make sure that you have applied the latest CS6 updates, and are using the latest installer from Blackmagic for CS6.

So i am buying a new MOBO, and as u can see from the title i am choosing between MSI Z87-G55 GL and MSI Z87-G45 Gaming. But i can't find any good comparisons other than that that one is blue and the other red and about 20$ more expensive. Some sites that list all the specs even imply that the G55 is better. So can anyone tell me what is the difference between then and which one should i buy?

I own a z77 mpower which has integrated WI-FI. I can tell you that for that board at least, I wasn't happy with the wifi and used an PCI card until I ended up running a Ethernet cable. I wouldn't call the wifi adaptor terrible, but it wasn't as good as a top end pcie card.

Neither is suitable for burning DVDs or BluRay media. They are DVD rippers/converters, not DVD authoring tools. Handbrake doesn't produce any format suitable for DVD Authoring. And while MacDVD Ripper can create .mov files even that's not a guarantee the file can be used for DVD authoring. You need DVD Authoring software like Roxio Toast to burn DVDs or BluRay disks.
Most BluRay players can play both standard def DVDs and high def BluRay disks. Which kind do you want to burn? And what exactly is your source media (video) that you want to burn?
And if you want to burn BluRay disks, you need a BluRay burner.
