Please, provide me steps to determine is the given object is unicode enable or not.

Either the full system is a Non-Unicode system or it is a Unicode system, there´s nothing like, "this object is already converted and this not".
A Unicode conversion is a full export of your source database using R3load (NOT database tools) and a re-import of that export into a Unicode database.

For Unicode, transaction UCCHECK is your best friend. It will even tell you how to fix the error.
All programs Most of the time you will just go and set the Unicode Checks Active program attribute, save, activate.
- If there are Unicode errors, fix them.

SAPScript - Not sure if it even needs Unicode-enabling. We are still in the middle of an upgrade. Will add more later.
Custom DDIC In our case, the BASIS team handled the Unicode conversion of the DDIC objects.I think they ran a consistency check first, then run SPUMG or something.

Issues during technical upgrade from version 4.6C to ECC 6.0

We have done a technical upgrade from version 4.6C to ECC 6.0 and encountered following issues -
In the t-code ABZE (acquisition with in house production) there is a check-box for reversal posting on screen with version 4.6C. However, this field is missing in ECC 6.0. Why so?
In the report s_alr_87012327, there is a field "only with creation block" in version 4.6C. However, this field is missing in ECC 6.0. Why so?
Request to kindly suggest the alternative to carry out the same in ECC 6.0.

1) 4.6c is NON-UNICODE system, Can I upgrade it into ECC 6.0 UNICODE system?
Yes you can.
If you are on a single code page system then you can give a gap between your uprade and unicode conversion. There is no problem with the singlecode upgrade and conversion.
But if your system is MDMP then you will have to do the CUUC method that is both upgrade and unicode conversion together. Though you can give a gap and sign an disclaimer with SAP it is still not recomended way.
2) 4.6c does not have any ITS system installed. If we upgrade it to ECC6.0 ABAP only, then Can I activate WAS internal ITS?
Yes you can activate it.
3) 4.6c does not have any JAVA stack. When I upgrade it to ECC 6.0, can I upgrade it to dual stack (ABAP+JAVA)? If yes, then how?
After the upgrade and unicode conversion you can install the java stack.

JasonIf your PRD system has been around for a long time, then YES. You should expect a large amount of work.
We have 3 R/3 PRD instances for 3 parts of the world.
We have applied Unicode to the 2 newer ones. It was a few days of hard work. But the systems are younger... and not a great deal of custom work.
Our original PRD system is 12.5 years old. We are not planning to go Unicode there. It would be an enormous project with little/no return to those businesses. -
Code should be enhanced until it is unicode enabled?

I did a test of the unicode compatibility of the user-exits. And I get the following error:
Part of function group SAPLXKAEP see LXKAEPTAP need to be enhanced.
There is 1 marked program or include file, which are used together with original SAP code which is already unicode-enabled. Because of that, your code should be enhanced, until it is unicode-enabled too.
What does this mean? What should I do?I had done one Upgrade project where Organization decided to keep their SAP system Non-unicode. But from ECC5 onward, by default SAP std function groups are "Unicode enable checkbox" checked.
Since function group is unicode enabled, all includes should be unicode compatible.
I think this msg is mentioning that. have you checked the include for unicode compatibility ? -
BP &C upgrade to version 7 failing, server configuration file missing.

When I run the version 7 Startup.exe, the only options are to Prepare or Other. I think the server configuration file is missing. Is there a way to create/recreate one without using the insight export feature (that appset is not installed or enabled).

For everyone else, here is what the upgrade has done:
Under the "iTunes\iTunes Music" folder there used to be a "Downloads" folder that was deleted by the 7.0 upgrade.
It looks like this folder was used for the recovery of failed downloads, but the previous versions of iTunes were not managing this folder very well. There were several folders containing just 1 media file. Most of the media files were 0 bytes long, except for the 2 files that I had lost during the upgrade. Apparently, iTunes was using these 2 files. The upgrade to version 7.0 caused this folder to be deleted; thus the links were broken. Anyone else who had a failed download, in particular a video download, may have the same issue. -

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Hi All.
We are upgrading to ECC 6.0. But the upgrade is simultaneous. We'd be building a new server, and some developments will still go on concurrently in 4.6C.
Is there any way we can ensure that new developments in 4.6C will be unicode enabled and would not give any errors in UCCHECK? I know 4.6C is not unicode enabled. But can we do some setting so that programs, if do not follow unicode standards, give warnings atleast?

In this thread it's mentioned that depending on your support pack lever report RSUNISCAN should
be available in the 4.6c system.
I only have a 4.7x system available at the moment so i can't check it for you. But maybe you can take a look to this report.

Sunil Setty.Unicode enabled system allows text data from different languages to be stored in one repository.
Version 4.7 and above are all Unicode enabled by default.
If your system is Unicode enabled and your program is also unicode enabled, it allows u to read the text from different languages(without any junk characters)
In non-unicode system,If your logon language is german and if ur attempting to view a Japenese data, it will not give u the correct data which is corrected in case of Unicode systems.
To check if ur program is Unicode enabled or not, follow Goto->Attributes.
You will have a check mark in Unicode checks active checkbox ( In all versions above 4.7 by default it is checked) -
E75 problems after upgrade to version: 201.12.01.
I've noticed the following problems after the phone software upgrade to version: 201.12.01.
During the call, when I in move, for example, in car, and the phone switches between different base stations, the conversation breaks.
When I have poor network coverage, where the phone all the time looking for better coverage, in general conversation is impossible. After few words screen appears, "connection error".After update to 201.12.01 version I have problems with Mail for Exchange. It can't download email message from Exchange 2003! We don't want to upgrade on Exchange 2007 version!
Error message is: "Security Policy that enables downloading HTML messages is disabled" (mayby sorry for wrong translate from Russian)

I currently have iTunes version 7 on my computer and need to upgrade to version 10 to sync my new nano iPod. When I tried the "check for updates" under the version 7 "help" menu, it said it could not contact the update server. I am afraid if I just download version 10 from the website, it will wipe out my music library. What should I do to upgrade?
Back up your music and install from the website. You probably won't need to do this, but if your library is erased, restore it from the backup.

Texts are not showing up after upgrading to version 11
Could someone help me with why some of my texts are not show up on my Flash project? Before the upgrade, everything is fine. However, after upgrading to version 11, my texts are disappearing.
Before (version 10.3.183.7...)
After (version 11.0.1.152...)
The texts in the boxes will disappear, when I hover mouse cursor over it. Those boxes with texts in them are created with an external AS file, and the texts are dynamicaly changed/put in with an external XML file. There is a mask on the boxes, show only 4 at a time.

You will see the changes with Flash player version 11, and everything working fine with older versions.
I use iMacs with Snow Leopard and Lion, and this happens on all of the browsers with Flash Player version 11.01.152. I also tested on Windows 7, and it is still happening. Is this a Flash Player bug or something changed that I am not aware of? Is there a work around for this?This is a known issue and we have a fix for this in our next release. Thanks for posting.

How do you fix 'unable to upgrade from version 0'?
I have been working on 6 ibooks over the past year, documenting a lot of stuff for user manuals for our school. The ibooks were all created in iBA version 1.0, but are not published - we only use them internally so we just use the previews.
I gave up trying to upgrade my 1.0 iBooks, it takes too long to 'optimize' the files when I try to open them in 2.0. I have read all the issues with iBA 2.0, but decided to download 2.0 on another computer and wabt to try to re-write all my old 1.0 manuals (I have all the files that went into them).
However, when I double-click to open the 2.0, nothing happens. So I go to 'File' and select 'New from Template Chooser'. I then get the window with all the new templates, including the portrait ones. When I select any template, say the 5th one for example, I get the prompt "The document 'Textbook 05.ibatemplate' could not be upgraded. Unable to upgrade from version 0". This happens for every template. I don't understand. I downloaded the 2.0 from the app store onto a 'clean' computer. Yes, it has Lion on it and all the spec requirements to run iBA. Can anyone help me with what to do next?Did you ask Apple for help yet?

I am running Firefox 4.01 on my desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate.
Almost everyday Firefox comes up with a "This is embarrassing..." message. more or less independently of what sites I have visited. Don't you think it is time you did something about this problem?
On a second desktop, running XP SP3, I resisted for a long time the pestering to upgrade, but finally, having lost the important menu bar" File---History--- Menu---Help " , I downloaded Version 5.
When I ran the installation program, however, the program froze while checking the compatibility of add-ons.
So I de-installed Version 5 via the control panel, and under "Add and Remove Programs" Firefox is not now listed there.
However, it is still listed under Startup Programs, the properties showing it is in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe, though not showing which version.
Under Program Files I find listed Version 5. 0.1. 4205. Clicking on this program either under Startup files or Program files has no effect.
Yesterday I tried to submit feedback under" Firefox makes me sad".
I was asked to include the URL of the site with the problem. I find it amazing that Mozilla does not know its own URL!
When I clicked "Submit Feedback" nothing happened.
The same happened again today, so I am now trying the "volunteer" service, as it seems direct technical support from Mozilla is non-existent.
To add insult to injury my log in password was not recognized and a further delay has resulted from having to reset it.
I have now installed Chrome on my XP desktop.
I also have a netbook running version 4 of Firefox, also persistently pushing for me to upgrade to version 5.
But until my Mozilla problem on the desktop machine is fixed I do not plan to take any action with the netbook.
I also find it irritating that I cannot simply send an email, but have to fill in a form which does not appear in my Outlook sent mail, but has to be cut and pasted so that I can keep a copy of my message.
