Upgrade 10.4.11 legacy

how do i upgrade emac 10.4.11 to make it compatible with my new ipad3?

An eMac with a CPU clock of 1 GHz or greater can be upgraded to Leopard. You will need to purchase a retail Leopard installation disc which will be a challenge to obtain at a reasonable price.
iOS devices running iOS 6 requires iTunes 10.6.3 or later. iTunes 10.6.3 is the last version of iTunes to support Mac computers with Mac OS X 10.5.8 with either Intel or PowerPC processors.

  • Can no longer connect to wireless router after upgrading to iTunes 9.2

My wireless connection was fine (using MacBook). After upgrading iTunes, I can not longer connect to router/modem wirelessly - am tethered with an ethernet cable. Spent 1 1/2 hours on phone with AT&T support reseting the passwords, security, etc. A PC laptop accepts password and can connect. My iPhone still can connect. But my MacBook (OS X 10.6) will not recognize my password for the modem/router. Everything has been re-booted and reset to original settings. Also, I received an iPad yesterday and it won't accept the password for our home wireless network. The password is correct because I am using it on other devices that are connecting to the network. Any ideas?

Yes, but the issue is not with Lion directly; there seems to be something with the upgraded system, perhaps a legacy setting or pref... I've scoured the system to no avail. I'm actually about to reinstall 10.6 - wasted too much time on this issue.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Can no longer connect to SMB server after upgrading to Lion

We have a MacBook Pro that was running 10.6.8. The user upgraded to Lion, and can no longer connect to a Windows 2008 file server. (We have two offices connected through a hardware tunnel, but i do not think this is the issue.)
We have tried to connect in the Finder (smb://[email protected]/). It asks for usr / pass, and then just hangs on "Connecting to server"
We can ping, have tested these credentials on other computers, and tried other credentials on this computer, to no avail. Furthermore, we installed a fresh copy of Lion on another computer, and successfully connected, so I don't think the issue is with Lion itself.
There must be something from the previous install that did not "upgrade" properly, but I don't know which file / setting it could be. It is system-wide setting, as we have also tried another user account on this same Mac.
We've also run Onyx to fix permissions, clean out all caches, etc.
Any idea what file i can change, modify, or delete?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Upgrade of 8.1.7.4  on Solaris 5.8 to Oracle 10g

    Hi Gurus-
We are planning to upgrade some of the legacy databases to 10g.
They are all 8.1.7.4 instances on Solaris 5.8 with Standby configuration.
1)Is it possible to upgrade the instances on the same OS version(5.8) to 10g?
2)Where can I find the related documents which detail the supported OS versions pertaining to 10g?
3)Since the environment consists of Standby how can we minimise the downtime of upgrade? Any best practices and proven methods please.
Need to convert the existing DMTs to LMTs as well.
    Appreciate your valuable inputs
    Thanks,
    newDBA

    Hi newDBA,
    to answer your questions:
    1) Yes, according to Metalink ==> Certify ... Solaris 5.8 is certified to run an Oracle 10gR2 installation:
Operating System: Solaris Operating System (SPARC) Version 8
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 10gR2 64-bit
    N/A Version N/A
    Status: Certified
    Product Version Note:
    None available for this product.
    Certification Note:
    Existing Patch Sets:
    10.2.0.2 Requires patch 5117016
    10.2.0.3
    10.2.0.4
    2) See first of all the CERTIFY button on Metalink and make sure also to check the release notes and the installation guide for Oracle on Solaris:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/relnotes.102/b15689/toc.htm
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15690/toc.htm
3a) Minimize the downtime with a standby
Your standby will be upgraded implicitly - this means you upgrade the production database and you restart your standby in MOUNT mode in the new environment you've installed on the standby machine as well. Once you switch your standby to ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT; then it'll start synchronizing with your already upgraded production system.
During the regular upgrade either with DBUA or CATUPGRD.SQL there's not much possibility to shrink your downtime. You should create dictionary stats right before the upgrade but mainly the time it'll take is dependent on the number of options/components you've installed in your current database.
Recompilation by the way will be done automatically in parallel - so CPU power will save you some time here.
But always the question will be:
Can you accept approx 1-4 hours of downtime or not?
3b) Dictionary Managed Tablespaces to Locally Managed Tablespaces
As long as you don't touch the system tablespace this can be done online with no additional downtime. But as soon as you convert also the SYSTEM tablespace you have to startup your database at this point in RESTRICT EXCLUSIVE mode - which in fact means downtime.
Hope this helps - kind regards
    Mike

  • EHP Upgrade - Trying to understand the concept

Dear experts, this is an effort to understand the concept. I have been doing Basis work for the past 10 years approximately. All along, I have been doing the typical LCP and SP upgrades way back from legacy systems until now (ECC 5.0 / BW 3.5). We have recently upgraded our BW 3.5 to BI 7.01 and also created a dual stack (we never had Java stack before for BW). This is my situation. Below are my questions. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
    1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
    2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
    3. Are there any specific upgrade guides that will guide me in transitioning from the typical SP upgrade methodology to EhP upgrade methodology. Also, I would like to know how did you transition (learning curve) from someone who had been with typical SP upgrade for a long time and how did you adopt yourself to the new path (like what guides did you use, what links did you follow, etc)
NOTE: I have heard the EhP upgrades are similar to release upgrades and I have done handful of release upgrades.
Thank you so much in advance.

    >1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
Yes we do have both option available. Either we can go for SP upgrade or we can go with EHP upgrade.
    >2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
Yes. http://Service.sap.com/erp-ehp is the place where you can get all the infromation and document.

Everything is available on Service marketplace.

  • Upgrading to 5.0

Okay, so I've set up a 5.0 server. I configured it as a
Multi-Master with a Changelog. I saved those settings.
I then clicked on Replication on the navigation tree, then in the
right-hand side of the window, clicked on the Legacy Consumer
Settings tab. I clicked on Enable Legacy Consumer and entered in
the appropriate DN info. Saved that.
Okay, I then went back to the Multi-Master configuration settings
for the userRoot database. I scrolled down on the right-hand side
and clicked on Updatable by a 4.x Replica. Clicked on Save. I got
a popup window indicating that this replica will function in
read-only mode until this "Updatable by a 4.x Replica" setting is
cleared. Okay, that makes sense. I clicked on Yes.
Now on the legacy server I created a replication agreement for this
5.0 server, using of course server initiated replication. I primed
this 5.0 replica using the initialization file route. Once that was
dumped out, I loaded it into the replica using the procedure:
    ./stop-slapd
    ./ldif2db -n userRoot -i /var/tmp/replica.ldif
    ./start-slapd
Okay, after that was done, I told the legacy server to 'update
now'. Watching the logs on both servers and doing a few simple
operations, all seems peachy. This all looks okay, right?
Before I proceed further, I just wanted to make sure I interpreted
the install documentation correctly. This topic isn't covered toooo
terribly thoroughly, and I suspect anything beyond this point could
cause some nasty problems if I'm not careful. ;-)
So, I should now be able to do the following:
    - As necessary, update DNS to point to the new replica instead of
    the legacy server.
    - Remove the replication agreement on the legacy server.
    - Shutdown the legacy server.
    - Unset the "Updatable by a 4.x Replica" flag on the 5.0 server.
At this point the new 5.0 server is (or should be) the master for
    this data.
    - Install 5.0 on the legacy box.
    - Run the upgrade script on the legacy box.
    - Configure the 5.0 on the legacy box to be a Multi-Master.
    - Create replication agreement on the legacy box so that it's now
got an updated copy of the data from the initial 5.0 box.
    - After these two boxes are in a full Mult-Master configuration, can
either leave them that way or remove the initial box as being a
    master.
Do I have this right? Anything to change?

Make sure you assign a replica ID to the 5.0 legacy consumer. You should normally not do this, but in your case it is ok since
you are going to convert the server to be a master. The only other step I would do is to restart the server as I have indicated
    below.

  • SQL 2008 R2 In-Place Upgrade or Fresh Install to SQL2104

We have a server running Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 currently.  We will call it SQL01.  This houses databases for about 8 different applications and also has the name hard coded into a lot,  I repeat, a lot of various things.
We are at the point where one of our applications needs to be upgraded and it only works with SQL 2014.  So we need to either do an in-place upgrade or fresh install.
The obvious choice to me as a system admin is to do a fresh install, but the development side of the department knows how many places the name "SQL01" is hard coded and they want to do an in-place upgrade to avoid all the issues that would show
    up if we changed names.
I have several questions, and I'd appreciate that the answers address them all if possible.
    1.  What are people's experiences with in-place upgrades from SQL 2008 R2 to SQL 2014?
    2.  To avoid this naming and coding issue, do companies use a permanent alias for their SQL servers?  Like with exchange, we have an alias or A record pointing "mail" to the current Exchange server.  As we do upgrades and the Exchange
server names change, the "mail" entry will always be pointed to the current one.  Do people do this for SQL as well to avoid our issue of hard coding names?
    3.  I've head that you can also have both SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2014 on the same server running together.  This really doesn't help though if the SQL 2014 instance would need to be something other than the default which everything is currently pointed
    to correct?
    4.  Is there any advice about a better way to go about this?  Or a better way to do this moving forward?  Other than not hard coding which I can't change now?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Adding to the answers provided above, please consider discontinued features no longer available on SQL Server 2014.
I often see company configuring SQL Server aliases when installing SQL Server on SharePoint environments. You can certainly use DNS or use the following article.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190445.aspx
An in-place upgrade is easier but is difficult to rollback in case something goes wrong. Meanwhile, a side-by-side upgrade provides you more control over what is upgraded, it keeps the legacy server online during the upgrade allowing you to easy rollback if
needed, but is not an automated process and the instance will not keep the same name, requiring you to use aliases or other ways to avoid client redirection.
Since you cannot change the application, go for a side-by-side upgrade and try the DNS alias or the client-side alias as I provided the procedure above.
    Hope this helps.

  • PPC to Lion upgrade

    Hello Everyone,
I apologize ahead of time if this question seems simple or redundant. My company currently has in place an Xserve PPC raid installed at our office. This is an old PPC machine and as you can imagine the majority of the software on the machine won't upgrade with out the  intel processor. We recently order a new Mac Pro running 10.7 with a fiber cad in order to utilize the raid configuration. We currently have Kerio exchange server and FileMaker server as well as standard MySQL and files sharing services running nothing to crazy. My question is what is the best process in migrating the machine to the new one? I am looking for the smoothest least painful migration process as it is our only server and we need as little down time as possible. Any help would be great.

There's no easy way that I know of to dispose of Lion-incompatible legacy software but I wouldn't wait until after the Lion upgrade to remove those legacy apps. I would make my SL clone, boot into it to make sure it works and then either remove the legacy apps from the clone or from my working SL disk. I would then go through all of my old legacy CDs and look for those with uninstallers and remove each one that way. For those that have no uninstallers I'd delete them peicemeal, looking in the library Application Support folder and Preferences folder for bits and pieces to dump. THEN, remaining in SL, I would test each and every one of the applications that I wish to keep to make certain the cleanup process didn't harm them in any way. After that, I'd download Lion as either an upgrade to the cleaned SL drive (which is the way I did mine) or separately onto a blank drive as a new installation and then migrate the apps from the cleaned SL partition or disk to the new Lion installation.
Keep in mind that after the Lion download you will be prompted to install the upgrade. You can quit at that point and then go to your home folder and copy the downloaded Lion installer onto another drive somewhere for future use without having to re-download the whole thing should you need it. I did that and put it onto a DVD and also put a copy of it onto one of my external HDs for safekeeping. If you allow installation immediately after downloading Lion, the installer will be deleted after the installation finishes before you have a chance to archive it. Once you've saved the installer you can then reopen it and continue with the Lion installation when you're ready.  Good luck whichever way you do it.

I bought it used, and had to tell the previous owner to disable secure boot, enable legacy mode
I was not aware the limitation on psu with hp computers, I am runningan 850w tr2 thermaltake, but it doesnt report right in speedfan, i guess know I know why.
it looks like others are as well.. with issues..
    http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1813827/needing-choosing-mobo.html
(dunno if external links are cool here)
I have looked at the voltages in hwmonitor and they seem way too low..  it is an older psu and probably taken a few surges.
I tried with the r7 260 card and had issues with it while it was turning off the monitors and I have tried the 750 which i know takes less power, but as soon as i installed its driver the pc went dead.
I have ordered a 600 watt psu and will go with the evga 750ti oc  when it arrives. I may have to format to deal with all the reinstalls at this point but ill be glad to put it behind me and maybe play a game some time soon lol.
its weird because it has no issue whatsoever meeting the 5670's power needs, never had this issue until i tried new card.
my cmos battery did get popped last week and reset my settings, pushing me to look into all this this week, maybe next week ill be able to afford it   if new psu doesnt work ill reset the jumpers  i think the 750 will be ok in secure boot mode?
      thanks

  • Advice Needed: Installing APEX 4.2.1 with SSO 10g

I am running in an environment here where it is mandatory that I run SSO 10g (the old verison 10.1.x.x OAS based). How do I go about enabling SSO in APEX 4.2.1? Can I use the same ssosdk902.zip I used with APEX 3.x.x or do I need a different one? There is no plans to go to upgrade off of our legacy 10g SSO or go to OAM based SSO. I would appreciate any information that can be offered.

    Hi David,
yes, you can use the same SDK. You just have to take care to follow the same steps. It's easy to forget to re-create synonyms and do grants after an APEX upgrade.

  • Next Firmware Update For Nokia 6303 classic Featur...

    A. Software features should be Hardware based not to Nokia Legacy as if 3.2 Megapixels Camera works like 6233's 2 Megapixels camera. In Nokia 5800 camera is just 3.2 Megapixels but the capabilities are fine, if Nokia has no logic to upgrade the Software for its legacy then why do Nokia has to upgrade the Hardware in Legacy Nokia Operating System? Like in case of 6303.
    B. Video Editor should be there in new update. A nice feature for creativity.
    C. .mp4 should be supported by the Recording Video Option and should be 640x480 @30fps. Why not if 6303 can play .mp4 but would not record, is there any logic even the Camera CMOS is 3.2 Megapixels?
    D. Lights Effect is a very good feature of 6303 and in my opinion it would be updated as another possibility to select it as Breather Light Effect such as Nokia 5800 XM, due to Silent Profile activated Handset Location assistance facility. User can find the set easily rather making a miss call to find out where the set is?
    E. 15 fps is not sufficient to play smoothly in PC or convert the Movie in any Application to play it in SETTOP Box or General DVD Players. it should be @30 fps to play in PC or after convertion in DVD player.
    F. Photo Editor should be included in Next Update as its not a justification to the Hardware rendered Engine limited by Firmware to edit the Photo and you get the jeggy .png. is not a joke performed in 6303?
    G. SMS writing Window space should be enhanced to accomodate the full Text Window so that a user can review easily in one Window operation not by scrolling again and again as now available in 6303.
    H. Display Brightness feature should be added to facilitate the user choice as the Hardware is supported in 6303's 16.7 M color LCD.
    I. 3D Ringing tone effects should be added and the Volume of Startup Tone should be increased to its optimal, in recent Firmware it is very low.
    J. SMS alert tone selection plays the tone in Level one Sound volume though the selected level is Five bar. it should be corrected in Future update.
    K. Smart selection of To (address field) in Messaging by converting the Input as Numeric for Text Message and Alphanumeric for MMS. In recent Firmware it is Alphanumeric by default for SMS as well as MMS, which is annoying for SMS Sending.
    L. Messages save in Memory Card or Phone Memory, option should be added.
    M. It would be a bonus if .wmv .dvx .mov video formats are supported by next firmware in both situations like Recording option and Playing formats support.
    Kindly notice NOKIA:
that by performing all above mentioned enhancements for 6303 classic, The 6303 classic would not become an N series or Touch considered Handset but it would justify its Hardware Capabilities selected by its manufacturer.
Its better to be legacy oriented NOKIA but the NOKIA OS legacy should be parallel with latest trends and Hardware based.
Its a good time to make better decisions towards connecting people with Modern Communications.
    With all the due regards!
    NOKIA's Loyal User. 6303 classic V6.40

Isn't this the same as setting "light Effects=On" in the settings? Mine "breathes" away happily after a missed call.

Where are you adjusting this? I can only adjust ringtone volume not SMS alert tones....

  • Font Names at top of first help topic

I'm using Robohelp for Microsoft Word X5.0.1. For all of our
legacy apps, we have been generating our help file from Word
documents in the WinHelp 4 format. I am currently involved with a
long term project upgrading all of our legacy applications to
Visual Basic .Net 2005. VS2005 doesn't support the WinHelp 4 format
    - it supports HTML Help (or CHM file format). I took the source
files we have been using to generate the WinHelp 4 document and
tried to generate a CHM file. However at the top of the first topic
in each document, several names of fonts get generated into the
text piece of the CHM file.
Has anyone experienced this? How can I go about getting past
    this issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Chris

A Search on "font names" brought me to
    this
    previous thread.
Oh no, 'twas nothing; anyone can do that magic...

  • Weblogic SOA 12.1.3: Integration with Oracle 9i Database

    All,
We have a client who currently adopt BPEL 10g (10.1.3.4). Currently we are looking to updrade the client to SOA Suite 12.1.3. As part of their existing architecture, there are a number of Oracle 9i databases that the BPEL components integrate with via DB Adapters. The clients current road map is to upgrade / migrate to the 12c SOA platform but not upgrade any of their legacy applications running on top of a Oracle 9i Database.
Please note I have observed and reviewed the Certification Matrix for supported platforms at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1213certmatrix-2226694.xls
As part of initial investigations, we have identified that the JDBC drivers that are integrated with 12.1.3. Weblogic are not compatable with Oracle 9i. You are able to create and test data source conections with success. However at runtime when querying the database a number of issues manifest. These incude:
VARCHAR2 columns are not returned via a select. Date columns and number columns are returned
Errors when executing adapters which implement the Pure SQL feature. The error returned involves the "ora-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested" error.
Similair design time issues are also envountered in JDeveloper (as per JDeveloper 12.1.3 (SOA / BPM) Integration with Oracle 9i Database)
Looking at the default configuration in 12c, it is to utilise OJDBC7 drivers supplied which support JDBC 4.1specification.
Has anyone had experience of using an Oracle 9i Database with Weblogic 12.1.3.? or have any viable options / views for how this could be achieved?
    Regards Dave

I wrongly mentioned to change to change the font format. In that document they mention to add the lines.
    Thanks

  • A/R aging

I have a question, we have this customer that we upgraded him from a legacy text base system to SBO. Now in the old system they had a funcionality to calculate finance charges and to post does finance charges to the customer A/R.
In SBO this functionality is not present (only the dunning wizard funcionality and it's only applicable 10 times).  Well the thing is that we have embark on creating a small addon that will calculate the finance charges for customer (BP) that has overdue balances base on the remaining balances of each overdue invoice, the way I forsaw doing this was by "reading" the records from the A/R balances for the corresponding BP.
After researching I realize that when I select to display an A/R aging for a BP this is actually calculated on the fly and there no table or object that can give you this information directly.  We long ago got a store procedure from SAP that will create an aging but this was to overcome the problems in 2005A SP01, but we have seen that his has fail.
Do you know of a routine, store procedure or process that could get me back the BP pending invoices with due date and remaining balances? Is there a table or set of table that can give me that information?
    Regards,
    WB

    William,
I have created a quick Query to show all Invoices which are Open, Past due and have a balance.
SELECT T0.DocNum AS 'Document Number', T0.CardCode AS 'Customer/Vendor Code', T0.CardName AS 'Customer/Vendor Name', T0.DocDate AS 'Posting Date', T0.DocDueDate AS 'Due Date', T0.DocTotal AS 'Document Total', T0.PaidToDate AS 'Paid to Date', T0.DocTotal-T0.PaidToDate AS BALANCE FROM  [dbo].[OINV] T0
    WHERE T0.DocDueDate <= GetDate() AND T0.DocTotal-T0.PaidToDate > 0 AND T0.DocStatus <> 'C'
    Hope it helps

  • 16bit ODBC  and Orcale 8i

    Hi All,
We have clients using Oracle8i\16bit VB applications.
So my questions are does Oracle 8i support connection through 16-bit ODBC drivers ?
Unlike Oracle 7.3 which had 16\32 bit SQL* Net easy configuration client ... Oracle8i seems to have only one
Net Config client .. is that only suitable for 32 bit connections ?
Haven't been able to find any documentation which says whether 16bit ODBC connections are supported or not.
    Any references would very helpful
    Thanks
    Rana

The last 16-bit ODBC driver was released for the Oracle 7 client. Since Oracle 7 clients will connect to an Oracle 8i database, I suppose you can have an Oracle 7 client with a 16-bit ODBC driver connecting to an Oracle 8i database.
Since it has been years since Oracle has supported anything related to the Oracle 7 client or database, you won't find any documentation indicating that this is a supported configuration. This may have been a supported configuration years ago, however, and my experience indicates that it will probably work.
Since Oracle 7 clients cannot connect to Oracle 9.2 databases, however, I would hope that you have plans to upgrade or replace this legacy application.
