Upgrade 10.4.9 to 10.4.10 for iPod Touch connection

Extremely disappointing trying to get this ipod touch to work.
my ibook runs on 10.3.9 and apparently i need to upgrade to 10.4.10.
it was difficult enough to find the update. but after downloading what's called the universal version - and trying to install it - i get an error during installation stating that the selected volume destination (my hd) does not meet the minimum requirements.
I must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

Try using it on the iBook with USB 1.1 and Tiger.
Install a USB 2.0 card in your Powermac (is it running at least 10.4.10?)
Return it and use the money, and Craig's list, to buy a 2nd Generation iPod Nano.
Buy one of the new MacBooks.

  • Upgrading software from 2.2  on a 2nd generation ipod touch

I have a 2nd generation IPOD touch and its saying its upgraded to the correct software which is 2.2, but I know it can upgrade to 4.0. There are some apps I want to use on it, but cant because the software is not upgraded high enough. Any advice on how I can get it upgraded to the latest software that it can take?  I tried to restore it, but that did not work.
    Thanks

It is easy to tell a 1G form a 2G from the shape of the antenea cover, the black plastic in the upper left of the back of the iPod.
A 1G can go to iOS 3.1.3 that you get here

iPod touch (2nd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (2nd generation) can be distinguished from previous iPod touch models by its contoured design and oval shaped antennae cover in the back upper left corner.

  • HT1923 I had Windows 7 and Itunes recognized my Ipod Touch with no issues.  Now that I've upgraded to Windows 8 I can't get my Ipod Touch to be recognized by Itunes.  Any suggestions?

I can't seem to get my Ipod touch to be recognized by Itunes now that I'm using my new upgraded Windows 8 Pro.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and do you have a solution?
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Upgrading to iPhone OS 3.0 for iPod touch

    Hi,
I've read some of the forums about the Wi-Fi problems on iPod touches after upgrading to OS 3.0. I haven't upgraded my iPod touch (2g) yet, but I'm planning to. What is the likelihood that my Wi-Fi will fail? How would I be able to fix the problem?

    How would that be explained?
The entire upgrading process AFTER downloading the 3.0 update took me over one hour! The 'installing and verifying step' took quite a while as did the 'backing up your touch' step. You need to have patience for things to work correctly!!!!
Even with error checking on the download it's possible to get a 'bad' downloaded file. Even with a good downloaded file, there are certainly a number of things you can do during the 'installing and verifying step' to screw things up - like disconnecting your touch or crashing a program running in the background.
My advice is to have nothing else but iTunes (and the installer) running on your computer during the updating process and DON'T panic if it seems to take a long time!!!! Don't foolishly assume the long process means your computer has 'frozen'.

  • Am I able to upgrade and Sync Adobe Flash Player 10 to the iPod Touch Safar

I have a faceBook account, on my faceBook in safari, not the faceBook App. from iTunes. There is a Game I play on FaceBook on my Mac in Safari but I can't Play it on my iPod Touch, it says in Safari that I have to upgrade and download the adobe Flash Player 10, I am not able to download the Flash Player on my iPod Touch of course but I am able to do so on my computer.
is There a way to have that Flash player 10 to be installed and working on my safari in my iPod touch?
I did try downloading and installing the Flash Player 10 on my Computer and then Syncing my iPod Touch with my Mac but that didn't work.
Does anyone know if this can be done, to have the Flash Player upgraded and installed in the iPod Touch Safari through the computer some how?
    Mrs. Trisha Foster

Adobe Flash is not available for the iPod touch so there is no way to install it and play games written in Flash.

  • How do I upgrade ios 4.2.1 to 5 or later for ipod touch

I'm trying to upgrade my ipod touch from ios 4.2 to 5 or later in the itune. It says ios software upgrade server could not be contacted. I'm certain the internet connection was good. Perhaps ios 4.2 is too old. Any other ways to upgrade it? Thanks.

You have to update via iTunes
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network

  • Not able to upgrade to 3.1.3 from 1.1.5 Ipod Touch 1g

    Hey there,
I am not able to upgrade my iOS from 1.1.5 to 3.1.3. I did download the upgrade and followed all the instructions but, after itunes extracts the files, it says "Unknown error" and the upgradation is stopped and  I was forced to restore my Ipod Touch to 1.1.5 Again.
Any ideas on what to do?

I would try deleting the update file and redownloading it.

  • How to safely upgrade 3.1.3 into 4.0 for iPod Touch 8 GB ?

    Hi All,
I'd like to update my existing iPod Touch 8GB (don't know which generation) from my existing (OS 3.1.3 7E18, Model MB528ZP) into iOS 4
What should I do to make a complete full backup of my existing music and purchased application ?
I haven't apply the update yet and would like to know if anyone has successfully upgrade their iPod without dataloss/
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

I've also got a 2nd Generation one (it's that "B" in the model that gives it away, apparently)
I have to say, I just did it. I let iTunes update itself & then let it update the rest.
Took rather a while mind, I ended up going to bed & just leaving it; & it was all fine this morning. So far, the only quirk I've found is that it disabled the passcode I'd set up. It's even picked up the location data in my photos - not sure if it rechecked them from iPhoto, or it already knew it; but never told me!
Now that I've discovered how to create folders 9(drag one app over another & it creates a folder with the two of them in it - and predicts a name - not sure how to change the name - though you are limited to 12 things in the folder)
From what I can tell, we 2nd Gen owners can't multitask, but it seems to have most of the other things that I've tried to do!
