Upgrade 6 Std to 9 Pro - but I need a Pro version *now*?

Not sure if this is the proper place to ask but someone can direct me to the proper if necessary.
I'm currently using Acrobat 6 Standard and want to upgrade to Acrobate 9 Pro for various reasons - fill in NDA documents, prepare my software documentation in Acrobat instead of Word, etc. Unfortunately, it appears that 9 isn't to be released until July some time. If I do the upgrade is there any possible way to get Acrobat 8 Pro (or even 6 Pro) in the interim? I did not see any alternatives. Reasons for not having previously upgraded to Pro involved finances.
Thank you very much,
Robert

Looks like you can order the beta version now. I do not know about the delivery. Since you are considering the upgrade to Pro because of the limitations of Std, be sure to check out the features of Pro Extended to be sure you are not skipping something you need again. It looks like the extended version adds a bunch of things for PPT conversion and such.
If you need something now while you wait for AA9, why not download the trial version of AA8 Pro?

I apparently purchased a Windows version of Adobe Acrobat XI Standard But I need a Mac Version. I inquired of the Adobe Community about how to do it. The person who responded said I should download a trial Mac version. I couldn't get this to happen. That was a few weeks ago. I tried again tonight. Now it says my trial period ended. Help!

  • Can someone please help me... i'm about to buy a new macbook pro and i need some pros and cons of SSD

hi.. i'm about to buy a new macbook pro and i need some pros and cons of SSD.... i'm not sure which is really better, the regular hard drive or the SSD... because if i buy the mac with SSD it would be the 128GB, so i want to know how would that affect the overall performance of the computer...
    Thanks!

I would suggest that you purchase the SSD through a third party source.  You will save money that way.
Regarding the performance, go to the OWC web site.  They have bench tested their SSD vs conventional HDD and have published the results for anyone to see,
The difference between the 128GB and the 256GB drives is capacity, no practical change to performance.
    Ciao.

OS X installers have always been fairly specific, hardware-wise. I haven't read anything reflecting that situation with the Recovery HD, so it may be that the Recovery HD created for the MacBook Pro does not have the necessary drivers for the Mac Pro. Obviously, nothing definitive here, but a possibility.

If your machine qualifies you can upgrade from 10.6.8 by going to the App Store application.

  • I want to upgrade to lion server but I need to install version 10.7 first?. Were do I find 10.7?

I have a mac mini server currently with OSx 10.6.8.  I want to upgrade to lion server but am told I need to install version 10.7 first?
Went to app store, cant find version 10.7. can anyone help me locate where I download server version 10.7?

The current version of Server on the MacApp Store has been updated
to 2.0 and requires Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8).  You could just
upgrade to Mountain Lion.  With the exception of some new features,
it is in reality an improvement to Lion.  The upgrade is cheaper as well.
If your Mini Server can be updated to it, you might as well just go with
    Mountain Lion.
You do realize that the OS and server are two seperate entities now?

  • Pluggo works on mac book pro but not on mac pro??????

    Can any one help please?
I have pluggo plugins fully working (and ahowing on the au manager) on my mates mac book pro and logic 8 but on my mac pro the pluggins don't show show on the au manager at all. I don't understand... they are both intel machines runing the same Os and using the same app.
Plugo was installed on both machines identicaly. I have tried re-installing pluggo which didn't help. Using a vst-au adapter (the one from fxexpansion) but that can't seem to wrap the pluggo plugins i have and anyway I shouldn't need to do this as they work perfectly on my mate's intel machine as audio units (unwraped).
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks! H

It may have something to do with the age of the display and the options available for the display. My early 2008 iMac doesn't have as many choices as the 2011 MacBook Pro.

  • Parallels Desktop v3.0 corrupts downloads on Mac Pro but not on MacBook Pro

Parallels Desktop for Mac version 3.0 is corrupting downloads and updates on my Mac Pro, but not on my MacBook Pro. Symptoms include the message "The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple” when downloading a software update. Downloading a dmg software package fails at the end of the download with a "Verification failed" message. Trying to mount the package manually fails with codec overrun error. These are symptoms of a corrupted download.
The problem disappears when I uninstall Parallels. It reappears if I reinstall Parallels. My Mac Pro and MacBook Pro are nearly identical in installed software. I have reviewed the problem with AppleCare in excruciating detail (an hour yesterday and another hour today with an AppleCare Specialist). It is a new issue to them. We have send a support request email to Parallels.com.
This has been a difficult problem to troubleshoot. I had tried every suggestion that I could find on the forum under "Digital Signature is incorrect", "Verification failed", "codec overrun", etc., without success. I won't go into the painful details of the troubleshooting process, unless encouraged. But I will update the forum when I know more. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas please pass them on.

The problem has been solved by replacing the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router with an Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wireless Base Station. After completing the installation I was able to successfully download my test .dmg files on the both the Mac Pro and the MacBook Pro with Parallels 3.0 installed.
Before I had made this change I had worked with a Parallels tech support expert. (By the way, they were very responsive.) We had tried a number of things without success, including disconnecting and restarting the cable modem and router.
I don't know why this change in routers worked. It couldn't be related the WEP encryption on the Linksys versus the WPA2 security on the Airport Extreme because the problem was not with the wireless connection to the MacBook Pro. The problem was with the Mac Pro, which was connected via an ethernet cable, in both cases.
I am now happy, but confused.

  • I want to install CyberLink PowerDirector on my Macbook Pro but I need Windows software operating system to be install ? I need help!

I  downloaded PowwerDirector 12 trial and when I try to open it,  I got a message that "CyberLink PowerDirector was not compatible to Mac". After some inquiries, I found that I need Winows software operating system to be install in Mac! Can sombody help me?

For Windows on a Mac you'd have to own a Windows retail system installer with keycode, and use BootCamp utility in the Mac OS X to set up a partition on the computer hard disk drive (issues? if you have Apple Fusion Drive where a SSD + HDD are automatically co-joined) and then install the Windows system there.
Or get & use Parallels, or VMFusion software and use it along with Windows to run applications written for a Windows OS. And would need to have a large internal hard disk drive with plenty of room since the space for Windows takes away space for Mac OS X and its applications to run; and also you'd need plenty of chip RAM installed to run this other System plus software... and for Windows, its own anti-virual software not needed at all in a Mac.
Not sure about this, http://www.wondershare.com/video-editor/mac/ suggests in their advert to be something to use if you can't use the cyberlink product.
Or don't want to buy the upscale or pro Apple image software that does a fine job at a cost. I'd try & avoid running Windows in a Mac even though it can run three or more different OS, including linux/unix builds.
Never heard of either one: wondershare or cyberlink powerdirector.
(the latter looked 'more pro' for windows)
    {But check for any hint of some odd effects before you get and install any software from a marginal or unknown source, since adware can follow, and really odd things can start to happen then, like search engine redirects.}
Anyway, helpful information about your computer and its current configuration, OS X version, RAM installed, hard disk drive specs (free vs used capacity) are numbers that can make a difference going into a new thing. Even Mavericks alone is not an upgrade, often that requires a bunch of extra chip RAM capacity.
Not sure if this helps, another may offer more direct ideas...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Conflict between Reader 10 and Acrobat 9 Pro, but Dreamweaver needs Acrobat?

I was trying to figure out why Adobe Reader 10 would not print a simple one-page PDF containing only text information distributed by the federal government. I found a message about this in Adobe's forums where the person  was told they should not have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Reader 10  installed at the same time. Well, my understanding is that removing Acrobat Pro is dangerous, because  when I installed Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, its installer said Acrobat 9 Pro had to be installed first before Dreamweaver CS5 would function. Does anyone understand this? Maybe I should remove Reader 10 instead, and just open and print PDFs with Acrobat? That's what worked with the government PDF I just mentioned.

To answer the DW side, DW does not need Acrobat to for anything as far as I know.  Acrobat has installed before the rest of the suite (assuming you have the suite) because Acrobat was never a true part of the suite and is on a completely different lifecycle than the rest of the suite.  Hence no CS 5.5 to include Acrobat X.  And it is true what you have heard that you should not mix versions of Pro and Reader.  Is there a reason you needed Acrobat X Reader on your machine?  Was there actually a file out there that doesn't open in version 9?
If Acrobat is giving you trouble I would recommend uninstalling the Reader version of X and leave the pro version on.  Due the time we are at out, I think it is unlikely that a point release of CS5 will be released and the integration of the suite with Acrobat X won't take place until Creative Suite 6 is released.

  • I upgraded from 1 to 4 but I need a 2 or 3 to work with certain programs and plugins

I have Version 4 but I absolutely need 2 or 3 to work with SEO Quake and No Follow Plugin
I lost my bookmark tags too
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you.....I have a new Mac

Those are Extensions as Plugins refer to say Java, Flash and such.
The SEO Quake is said to be compatible with Firefox 4.0 according to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/seoquake-seo-extension/
Not sure what No Follow extension you are referring to as NoDoFollow is said to be compatible with Firefox 3.6.* https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nodofollow/ but the author has not updated it since 2008.
If you must downgrade then try Firefox 3.6.16 which is found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • My mac has been crushed where I forced to re install the original OS 10.5.8 now I want to upgrade to the mountain lion but it needs at least 10.6 version where I did purchased it before but it has been deleted after the crush.

    hi,
I had OS 10.5.8 and I did upgrade it to snow Leopard, later after a year or so my mac has crushed where I forced to reinstall the original OS 10.5.8. now How can I upgrade to mountain Lion or at least to retreive my Snow Leopard?

You need to use the Snow Leopard DVD to upgrade your computer. If you can't find that, phone the online Apple Store and order a new one.

  • HT204053 i have my iphone 4 photos on my macbook pro but i need to delete them from phone now.. How? when i did they reappeared?? must be a iCloud setting i am thinking?

    photo's not phones sorry

OK, so what you need to do is when you hook up your phone to the Mac, and open iTunes, click on the iPhone that shows under Devices in iTunes (left-hand column). Then you will see a Summary page displayed with the iPhone information.
You will also see several "tabs" with various types of sync options - Music, Photos, Books, etc.
Click on the Photos tab and you will see a box that says Sync Photos. If you uncheck this, then nothing will sync back to the phone. You can also check it, but then selectively pick which photo albums or events you want to sync.
Also, if you have iCloud and photo stream turned on, you will continue to see any photos in your photo stream, regardless of whether you have sync'd them to your Mac or not.
Hope this helps, but if you have additional questions, don't hesitate to ask! Welcome to the Apple world!!!
    Cheers,
