Upgrade 720p movies to 1080p - How?

Apple when they did their press conference for the new Apple TV - specifically stated that previous purchases of movies from iTunes could be updated to 1080p. There was no charge involved, I just needed to redownload them. I wish that were the case. What am I missing? All my preferences state 1080p. Viewing my purchases shows all my movies I can download and pretty much all of them are available in HD. Yet, they are still downloading in SD (720p). Why? Online support/itunes sends me in a loop as far as downloading in 1080p. It never answers the question.
Anyone here happen to have the answer? Do I need to re-buy (not going to happen) all my movies in HD to get HD? That wasn't what was stated by Apple.
Again, any help would be appreciated!

Did you change your preferences in iTunes >
HD is 1080P 720P and 1080i
SD is 480i

Not sure what happend there. But ATV only streams, no HD so if you leave it too long, the whole download gets lost.

I have justed upgraded CS2 to CS5. How do I set artboard crop or trim marks for printing? It was under the "OBJECTS" menu in CS2, but I can't find it in CS5.

it actually works the same way but better you don't see it that way but with perhaps more experience you might catch on and say "oh now I see that' all I have to do.
Multiple artboards, which you did not have in CS 2 , changes the equation.
When you open a new document you can set up a gangup in the new document dialog then say for a business card then do one business card in the first one.
Then copy the art and text of that first one and in one command paste that art in all of the artboards with one command, you can then make another artboard that encompasses all the artboards and you now have a gang up say six up you can now print all a once as a gang up or print a range of the artboards or specific artboards.
As a matter of fact now that you can paste on all artboards with one command AI CS 5 actually has a step and repeat feature that works verticaly and horizontally at the same time. And an improved version is easily had.
Also since you probably know how many you need of this first artboard then you can simply make one rectangle for for the first artboard and give it a crop area effect and when you do your copy include the rectangle and then paste on all artboards and there you are
look at the video, see how cool. less complicated not more complicated. And as other users explore this function I bet they come up with even better ideas.

I am going to make one adjustment here instead of doing a command c to copy the first artboard it would be better to do a command x to cut the first one since the command paste on all artboard does exactly that. So if you do a command c and a command option shift v then you have two rectangles and art and crop marks pasted on top of each other. Probably won't do any harm but might be confusing in the layers panel.

Presets for 720p 60 and 1080p 30?

I'm trying to figure out the correct project presets in Premere Elements 8 to use for video created using a Contour HD camcorder. The files it produces are .mov files using the H.264 codec with AAC audio. The camcorder will output either 720p at 30 or 60fps or 1080p at 30fps.
I have been able to edit the 720p 30fps files using the HDV 720p 30 preset with fairly good results. However, looking through the list of project presets I'm not sure what to choose for 720p 60 or 1080p 30. Is there a way to be able to edit these formats in PE8?

If I go that route, I'm assuming that I would lose video quality since I would be converting to a format that has a lower resolution. I would like to keep the videos in HD quality if possible.
After doing some more digging, I came across this post that provided additional presets for progressive video formats:

Using the preset for "AVCHD Full HD 1080p 30" I was able to directly import a 1080p file from my camcorder, edit it, and export it as a 1080p .mp4 file. I think this should do the trick and allow me to edit my videos without converting them first.
Is this the best way to do this, or would there still be some benefit to doing an external conversion first? Is there any drawback to selecting either AVCHD or HDV as the project format when the source files are not either of those formats? Things seem to be working correctly now, but I suppose I would like to understand what is actually going on to avoid future headaches.

Streaming 720p movie

I'm attempting to stream a 720p movie from my itunes for the first time, and its veryyyy slow. the playback bar is slowly filling so its clearly doing something. just wondered how far along that bar will need to load before i get any playback? so far its loaded about 10% of a 2hour movie, I thought I'd have something to watch by now. Ive rented from HD movies from the Apple TV before andf its streamed instantly so I know my wifi is capable. and ideas???

Something isn't right with the data transfer - movies on the LAN should stream pretty much instantly.

The blue bar may not actually represent the whole movie just the bit required to prebuffer, but mine just fills in a second or so so I've never had to look into it. (The blue bar on the old AppleTV 1 represented 30 secs of video and had to fill for trailers etc to play over the internet but AppleTV2 may be different).
Does other content play ok?
I would look at the network/security software first. If connecting via wifi on all devices try a direct connection to AppleTV with ethernet if you can while troubleshooting. It's possible AppleTV connects well to the router but not the computer?
Can you try another file? If you encoded this yourself there may be something amiss, can you supply the video specs?
Try browsing iTunes for a free HD TV episode if this video did not come from iTunes Store. I suggest this as you then have a 'gold standard' encoded file in Apple terms to compare with.
I would also consider making a temporary new itunes library (alt on a Mac when opening itunes)and testing files from there. Also maybe try itunes from a different user account and if possible computer.
Sorry there are no quick fixes it's a case of narrowing things down to find the cause.

It will depend on what model of iMac you have.
You may want to post machine info.

Most of the iMac's have sometype of video output port on the back. You will problably need a converter.
The 'hollywood' industry has been making it more difficult to get video out over time to prevent copying.

PPC (PowerPC) is the processor architecture of all G3, G4 and G5 Power Mac computers.
PPC Macs cannot run any OS greater than Leopard, 10.5.8 because after that, Apple quit developing for PPC processors and limited support for the Intel processor line only.
As for upgrade to Leopard, Yes, if your machine meets the minimum requirements of 867 MHz or faster processor, 512 MB or greater of RAM and has a DVD reader it can have Leopard installed.
To install Leopard, one must first purchase a RETAIL (black with X on it) disc.
After install of 10.5, 10.5.1,10.5.4 or 10.5.6 retail version, free updates to 10.5.8 are available from Apple.

If your machine is slower than 867 MHz, Google "Unsupported Leopard Installation".
Tiger is lthe best choice for slower PPC Macs.

Since your Mac probably came with 10.4, there is no longer a way to get 10.5 Leopard install media. IF it has the requirements, you may be able to upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard by buying the boxed install media at the Apple Store for $30.

HP couldn't find its own apps with both hands and a flashlight.
As of Lion all scanning functions are incorporated natively in OS X. You can scan three ways:
Use Preview: File > Import from scanner
Use Image Capture
(Preview and Image Capture are both in your Applications folder.)
System Preferences > Print & Scan. Select your HP and use the Scan tab.
If you have HP's "Image Zone" software installed, you no longer need it and it no longer works anyway.

If you are speaking of an iTunes purchase, you will need to contact iTunes Customer Service and explain the situation. Their written policy is kinda cold, in that they say they don't issue refunds for erroneous purchases, but I have found them to be a bit more understanding and helpful than that.
Start by calling Apple at 1-800-275-2273 (if in the US) and ask to be connected to iTunes Customer Service.
