If portal is used with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, then I suggest you have a look at section 3 (Installation or Upgrade of Portal) of note: 305918.1. It lists all the steps on how to move from portal 3.0.9 to portal 10.1.4

  • PT 8.51 Upgrade - How to find duplicate keys for Portal Registry Structure?

I am upgrading peopletools for two applications (CRM 9.00 and FDM 9.00) from the 8.48.10 to 8.51.11 versions.
For CRM, Task 4-15-9 Completing the Peopletools Conversion ran app engine PTUPGCONVERT ran smoothly.
For FDM, I have the following error messages:
The Navigation Pagelet does not exist. Portal = EMPLOYEE. Object = PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU. Collection = PT_PTPP_PORTAL_ROOT (219,2083)
    Message Set Number: 219
    Message Number: 2083
Message Reason: The Navigation Pagelet does not exist. Portal = EMPLOYEE. Object = PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU. Collection = PT_PTPP_PORTAL_ROOT (219,2083)
Duplicate key. Portal: EMPLOYEE, Obj Name: PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU, Nodename: LOCAL_NODE, URL: s/WEBLIB_PTPP_SC.HOMEPAGE.FieldFormula.IScript_SCP (133,4)
    PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU already exists. (96,3)
Copy of the Main Menu Pagelet From PS_SITETEMPLATE to Portal: EMPLOYEE failed. (219,2111)
    Message Set Number: 219
    Message Number: 2111
Message Reason: Copy of the Main Menu Pagelet From PS_SITETEMPLATE to Portal: EMPLOYEE failed. (219,2111)
I checked table PSPRSMDEFN which does not have an entry for PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU, under the Employee Portal. I tried to migrate the missing Portal Registry object using App Designer but again receive the "duplicate key" error.
So it seems that I have to find the duplicate key and resolve it before I can migrate the missing object.
Anyone know a quick way to figure out what the duplicate keys are?
    Thanks

I tried several things to find the duplicates with no success.
A couple of workarounds were attempted that resulted in the same "duplicate key" error, including:
    a) Re-copying file project PPLTLS84CUR
    b) Copy object 'PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU" from Demo
After opening an SR, the successful workaround was to use Data Mover to export from Demo the "EMPLOYEE" portal entries for "PT_SC_PGT_MAIN_MENU" from tables PSPRSMDEFN, PSPRSMSYSATTR and PSPRSMSYSATTRVL. The import to the target upgrade environment was successful. A re-run of PTUPGCONVERT finished successfully.
The upgrade is progressing but where the duplicate keys are is still a mystery.
    Cheers

  • Portal integration with E-Business and Discoverer 10g

    Hello Everyone,
We have a R12 integrated with SSO/OID. We also have a standalone Oracle BI Discoverer 10g. We want to implement Oracle Portal here. One of the requirements of this project is to have a common home page for both E-Business Suite login as well Discoverer access. Right now E-Business Suite login is seperate and Discoverer home page is seperate (because it comes from a Standalone installation)
    1) What are the benefits of having AS Portal 10g for end users ?
    2) To begin with, we would like to go with the minimum portlets.
    3) Is it possible to have a common home page for both E-Biz access and the Discoverer acess after Portal integration ?
    4) Do you have some screenshots of how things look after Portal integration
    -Thanks
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    take a look in metalink Note:313418.1. :
"Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i"
Look in section 6 - post installation.
Follow the steps and have a very good luck.

  • Create Portal user within Oracle IAS9.0.4 (10g) using APIs

With the Portal version 3.0 we created our users using the functions:
    1. wwsec_api.add_portal_user(...)
    2. wwsec_api.activate_portal_user(<user>)
    3. WWSSO_API_USER_ADMIN.CREATE_USER(...)
Now with the Portal version 9.0.4 (10g) we can't create the users.
    Any sugestions?

    Richard,
You'll need to have 1.0.2.2 to be installed on the middle tier before performing the upgrade for your portal 3.0.9 upgrade repository on the database end. So that means, you'll need to wait for the Linux download of iAS 1.0.2.2 to be available before beginning your upgrade of the portal repository, assuming that your middle tier of iAS is also on a Linux box.
iAS 1.0.2.2 does indeed include Portal 3.0.9, of which Portal 3.0.9 components will be installed during the upgrade process along with the upgrade of the middle tier. During the upgrade process, the installer (from my personal experience on NT), will notify you that it is performing an upgrade installation of your middle tier, provided that you specified the middle tier's ORACLE_HOME when executing the oracle installer.
Just be sure to read and follow the 9iAS Migration guide before beginning your upgrade of the middle tier to iAS 1.0.2.2. After upgrading the middle tier to 1.0.2.2, the actual upgrade of the portal repository was extremely simple by comparison.
The upgrade of the portal repository took a few hours (my recommendation is to invoke it off before leaving for the evening), and it will leave a detailed logfile for you to peruse afterwards, if you choose).
    Best Regards,
    Harry

  • Upgrade Weblogic portal 10.3.2 to 10.3.4

    Hi Guys,
I installed weblogic portal 10.3.2 and working last 8 months. I developed Client application on this version and put contents its working fine.
i upgraded portal 10.3.2 to 10.3.4. its upgraded without errors. when i login to Portal administration console and go to visitor entitlements under users, groups and roles.
Their no default role (AnonymousVisitor, AuthenticatedVisitor ) under Visitors Roles. When i create new role its created with successful message, but not show. when create again its showing Already created.
Please help me on this issue, i working on this last 2 days still issue.
Portal application is ready, Now its time to deploy application on live. But at this time i facing this problem.
    Thanks,
    Zeeshan.

The default visitor roles gets created when you login to portal administration console first time. In your case, I am not sure if it disappered due to upgrade, so need to review the exact upgrade steps.
But when you create it, you got a success message and not able to create it again as it is already exist. So basically the roles are not visisble in portal administration console, it suggest me that the ldap and db might be out of sync. You can follow the troubleshooting guide in the following knowledge article and narrow down the issue. The article can be found in My Oracle Support portal.
Troubleshooting Entitlements in WebLogic Portal (Doc ID 1068937.1)
If it turns out to be ldap and db out of sync then review the suggestion provided in the article "WebLogic Portal (WLP) LDAP and Database Out of Sync (Doc ID 1061447.1)" to recover from it. If you can't recover then you may need to reset the lap and db, but you will loose entitlement/ldap users&groups/DA data.

  • Portal problem in navigation after upgrade Service Pack 25 (SP25)

    Hi experts,
We have upgraded our NetWeaver 2004 (6.40) environment with Portal 6.0 to the latest Service Pack 25 (SP25).
After the whole upgrade a strange problem occurs in the Portal when using the portal navigation. After a few clicks in the navigation a JavaScript error in the browser occurs. We use Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
When the error occurs, we have to refresh the browser to use the portal again. I have the idea that the problem is relating to the session management but i can't figure it out.
    Any ideas?
    JavaScript error details:
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.2; Trident/4.0; GTB6; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

    Dear Benjamin,
Thank you for your answer. I think it helped us with the scope of the problem.
We use a FQDN for the Portal and also a FQDN for the backend (R/3). There is nothing changed in those hostnames between the upgrade from SP19 to SP25. The browser problem occurs after a few clicks (10 - 30) in the left-side navigation and is not based on time or specific iView. So its difficult to find a routine structure in the presents of the error.
I have also used the tool to analyse the JavaScript code. It gives a error on a not defined object value within the file js13_epcf.js?6.0810.
It seems that the part of the code had to do something with the iFrame usage of the Portal. But it's to difficult to find the real cause of the issue.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • OnPlus Scanner - Upgrade Scheduled for OnPlus Portal on Saturday, September 15th, at 8am CT

    Hello OnPlus users,
An upgrade has been scheduled for the OnPlus Portal on Saturday, September 15th at 8:00 AM CT for a period of 3 hours.
During this time, the OnPlus portal will be available for usage, with only minimal interruption to service.

OnPlus Scanner simplifes the task of mainitaining your networks by automatically providing the following information:
    Warranty Status
    Service Contract status
    Hardware End-of-Life milestone information
    Software End-of-Life milestone information
    Field Notices
    Product Security Advisories
The OnPlus team will be posting more information on OnPlus Scanner, so you can get familiar with it.
Please look out or more messaging from us on this community page!
And as always - please let us know how we're doing on this community page; we'd love to hear your thoughts!
    Thank you!

Get a third party router is what I would advise. Must have an ethernet LAN connection though.

  • Portal-XSS Upgrade - Which version of NWDI/DI

    Hi,
    in a landscape with
    Instance 1 : Java - Portal/ERPXSS
    Instance 2 : ERP/HR
Instance 3 : NWDI/DI for customization of XSS
we are planning to upgrade to ERP/XSS SP15 and  Netweaver Portal SP17
    The Question:
Can anybody tell, which version of DI we have to take?
Is it possible to take the newest version of DI (7.0/EHP1 or even 7.1), because lower versions can be controlled by build plugs?
Which NWDS - Version do we need then?
    Thanx in advance,
    Andi Lorinser

    Hi,
    the point is the following.
With a dedicated NWDI-Server we might serve different Patch-Level of Java Code. Let's say ERP/XSS/SP14 on the one side and CE-Components on the other side.
So if we take the newest version of NWDI-Server and developping for XSS/SP14. Does this work and what version of NWDS do we need for this scenario?
    Thanx Andi

  • Oracle portal upgrade issue

    Hi All,
I upgraded the older 10.1.2 oracle portal TO oracle portal 10.1.4 on windows.
Next step is i have to apply a patch. As i execute the patch related batch file it fails. it keeps giving me following error.
    MISSING_COMPONENT : oracle.webdb.midtier, 10.1.2.0.1
This Oracle Home does not have components/versions required by the patch.
ERROR: OPatch failed during pre-reqs check.
OPatch returns with error code = 150
what could be the issue and how to resolve ?
    thanks,
    pp

are you getting these errors in the pre-upgrade logs or in the actual run?
You would have to go to each of these lines individually in the upgrade logs and see what is the context of these errors and what are the specific details of the objects which are throwing these errors.
For instance, go to the lines 7682-7700 and see what is causing these errors. which objects, and which exceptions in those objects.
    just as a side note:
always make sure you do not have any invalid objects in your schemas with any kinds of compilation errors before running the upgrade scripts.

-mikeHi. You may need to consult your DB2 DBA. This is just the driver reporting that
it's processing failed at the DBMS because of hitting a DBMS resource limit on
    memory.
