Upgrade 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation to 'Update 1' released today?

I've recently installed 8.1 enterprise evaluation (90-day) in anticipation of summer upgrades for our school. I know we're supposed to be able to apply enterprise updates via the VLSC, but I'm wondering how to make those available before we've actually
purchased the licenses (OVS-ES licensing platform will go in effect this June for our school).
Does anyone know how/where to download the '8.1 Update' (awareness of desktop pc's, default to desktop on boot, desktop applications for pics, etc...) if you are running the 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation?

At this time, the forthcoming Update to Windows 8.1 is only available from the Windows Update website. (There is a standalone version available for MSDN Subscribers, but it is not as easy to install as the file from Windows Update).

I don't think so. It depend more of Blackmagic that Adobe. This is the answer to my request at Blackmagic:
"The current version of the driver does not support Adobe SpeedGrade. This may be added in the future, however I do not have information as to whether this will be introduced"

    My environment configured 2 Servers for SQL 2012 Clustering Enterprise Evaluation with Active/Passive. Then I Would like to upgrade from SQL 2012 Clustering Enterprise Evaluation to SQL 2012 Clustering Standard Edition with Active/Passive
on same 2 Servers.
    I would like you help to share me the step how to upgrade from SQL 2012 Clustering Enterprise Evaluation to SQL 2012 Clustering Standard Edition.
    I should upgrade on both Servers or just upgrade only one of them?
    I should upgrade on Active node first or passive node first?
    During upgrade, I should bring offline resource before upgrade?
I saw only step upgrade evaluation edition on standalone Server but can't find information for upgrade on Cluster environment.
Could you please help provide me the step for do this.

Upgrading from Evaluation Enterprise (a free edition) to any of the paid editions is supported for stand-alone installations, but is not supported for clustered installations.
Changing the edition of a SQL Server 2012 failover cluster is limited. The following scenarios are not supported for SQL Server 2012 failover clusters:
SQL Server 2012 Enterprise to SQL Server 2012 Developer, Standard, or Enterprise Evaluation.
SQL Server 2012 Developer to SQL Server 2012 Standard or Enterprise Evaluation.
SQL Server 2012 Standard to SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Evaluation.
SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Evaluation to SQL Server 2012 Standard.
So i think upgrade to Standard edition is not possible on cluster.
What you can do is take full and transaction log backup of All databases.Backup your users and logins and jobs by script method.
Now destroy SQL server 2012 evaluation cluster and create new SQL server standard cluster.
Just FYI( not related to this): You just need to run edition upgrade on a single node, you can choose to run from either an active or passive node. After running, you need to cause a failover to happen. Once the failover happens, all of the nodes along with
the database engine will be updated.

I recently downloaded the enterprise evaluation, and now the trial is coming to its end. Can I upgrade using a product key, or do I need to do it via disc?

I'm sorry to say, absolutely NOT.
You must install a new OS afresh, there is NO WAY to upgrade the Enterprise Evaluation version to anything in line. The information provided where you downloaded the software says as much.

I am need to do an Edition Upgrade on a SQL Server 2012 Enterprise (evaluation) to a licensed version of the Enterprise version. We do already have set-up Always on Availability Groups, however when I want to perform the Edition Upgrade I receive the following
warning:
The AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature is enabled on this instance of SQL Server and it is not supported in the edition being changed to. Before proceeding, disable AlwaysOn Availability Groups on the server instance. For more information, see SQL Server

I am using the correct media, as well if I need to accept the license terms I can see it's the Enterprise Core edition, so I am wondering why I receive this message. And of course I did not proceed, because I do not want to loose my availability groups.

Personally, according to the
features supported by the editions of SQL Server 2012, it is support on AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature on the Enterprise version. In theory, the AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature is supported on the Enterprise version after upgrading.
About this warning, if it is in test environment, we can do a test and check if the warning will effect AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature. Or

2TB USB disks don't work under Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation

Hi,
2TB hard disks don't get started in Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation:
*** Error code 43
*** Unkown USB Device - Device Descriptor Request Failed
*** configured but not started
Hardware is OK i.e. this is Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation problem:
~ the same USB hard disk worked before and after this with older Windows PCs
2TB seems to be challenge for Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation:
~ it runs ok USB devices with < 2TB in the same PC and in the same port
Notes:
~ restart of Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation did not help
~ Windows NTFS format is being used

or if still not solved, I suspected this USB drive attached during Windows 8.1 installation, I suggest remove it at device manager and scan for the new device and lets see if windows can detect this HW, try also update all driver if there is any update for
this PC and update windows or update OS to pro version

Upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1.102 - Performance Issues

We are testing an upgrade to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1.1. We have applied the Update 2 patch which I believe officially takes the version to 6.5.1.1.102. In testing reports and consolidation between the new version and the old 6.4.1 version of Enterprise, we are seeing a delay in how long it take reports to generate and for Consolidation to complete. With reports, we see the delay specifically when running large reports that pull a lot of data.
Currently, our 6.4.1 Hyperion application is installed on a Win2003 server and our users access Hyperion via Citrix. The 6.5.1.1.102 version is installed on a Win2008 server and is being accessed through Citrix.
To isolate this issue, we loaded Hyperion locally on a server and the timed some reports. The 6.5 reports take just as long to run as on our current v6.4 platform. So, it appears there is a performance issue running 6.5 enterprise through Citrix. Has any one else experienced this type problem or have any suggestions. We have been referred to numerous performance tuning notes from Hyperion support but nothing seems help.

I would suggest you to apply the latest patch 6.5.1.1.103, and I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to HFM.

Install SQL Server 2008R2 Enterprise Evaluation Edtion

Hi All,
Our requirement is to install MSSQL 2008R2 Enterprise Evaluation Edition (Trail Version) and test application and data integrity. Once all the tests are successful we want to go with Enterprise Edition. So here my question is if I install Enterprise Evaluation
Edition with a default instance can I able to install default instance through Enterprise Edition (licensed). or it stops me saying that only one default instance is allowed?
And also is there by any chance we can make evaluation edition as enterprise by giving license key. I believe it is not possible after installation.
Please suggest and correct me if I am wrong. Thank You

You can upgrade the edition of SQL Server by using the Edition Upgrade wizard. This will allow you to convert your default instance of evaluation into Enterprise, no need for another full install.

In the section "ORACLE Net-Konfigurationsassisten" the failure "[INS-20802] Oracle NET-Konfigurationsassistent not success". What's wrong? I've heard the problem can occur with problems in /etc/hosts? My /etc/hosts is configured:

Hyper links with standard file protocol don't work with the IE browser of Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation
The same hyperlinks work under the same Windows 8.1. Enterprise Evaluation:
1. Google Chrome
2. Opera
3. Fire fox
4. Safari
The same hyperlinks work under the Windows 7.1
Example:

Make sure the URLs are in correct format, just like examples listed in this link, some "bad" URLs can still work in other browsers, but not in IE.

Yosemite UPGRADE, Apps that I try to update fail with the message that connection to App Store failed, then i get a message that the updates were purchased by another user ID or purchase cancelled. All five updates have this error

AFTER I UPGRADED TO YOSEMITE, I TRIED TO UPDATE THE FIVE APPS THAT I WAS BEING NOTIFIED NEEDED UPGRADING (IMOVIE, IPHOTO ETC). I TRIED TO UPDATE VIA THE APP STORE BUT GOT A MESSAGE "UPGRADE NOT POSSIBLE WITH THIS APPLE ID BECAUSE IT WAS EITHER BOUGHT BY A DIFFERENT USER OR THE ITEM WAS REFUNDED OR CANCELLED." I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM SIGNING ON TO ICLOUD OR ANY OF THE OTHER SERVICES USING MY APPLE ID, I ALSO CHANGED THE PASSWORD AT THE PROMPTING. SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT MEANS. WHAT CAN I DO TO UPDATE MY APPLICATIONS?

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.

I get a message in my gmail account starting two weeks ago: "This version of Safari is no longer supported. Please upgrade to asupported browser." My updates are current with Safari 5.1.10, using OS 10.6.8. No system changes have been made near that time frame. My gmail account appears to be working normally at the present time. Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core duo w/ 2GB SDRAM. Help?

To move to Safari 6 you would have to install Lion or Mountain Lion. Perhaps try contacting Google/gmail about the issue and why they are not supporting your version of Safari.

Upgrading from Crystal Enterprise 10 to Business Objects Enterprise 11

Here's the situation:
We decided to upgrade from Crystal Enterprise 10 on server A to Business Objects Enterprise 11 on server B. We went with the method of importing all the objects and users from Crystal Enterprise 10 to Business Objects Enterprise 11. The import also brought in all the DB connection settings that were set in Crystal Enterprise 10. I also brought over all the ODBC System DSNs so that those can be consisten with the old server.
The problem we are having is that the reports are failing due to the connections to the database. I thought importing the database connection settings from Crystal Enterprise 10 along with bringing over the ODBC System DSNs would not make this an issue but it hasn't.
I checked the server logs in SQL and it's telling me that it's trying to log into the server as NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON. Shouldn't it try to log under whatever I define in the report's database settings or ODBC System DSNs?
These same reports work fine in Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise 10.

go into the properties of the report and verify that the Database Login values are still set. I found that it doesn't always transfer those when doing the import.

you will need access to the CMS DB and FRS from CE10 in order to migrate to XI 3.x, typically this is accomplished via network. If you can restore them to the same computer a side by side (install CE10 and XI 3.x on the same server) may work as well.
