Hi All,
Thanks for your suggestions.
I am summaries bellow all steps one bye one form up gradation 8i 32 bit database to 10gR2 64 bit.
1.     First install 10gr2 64 bit binary
2.     Connect to the oracle database from 8i and run pre-upgrade scripts (utlu102i.sql), which is store in oracle 10g home/rdbms/admin.
3.     Follow the steps suggested from output of above steps.
4.     Create SYSAUX Tablespace
5.     Stop 8i database services
6.     Put 8i initPROD.ora file at new 10g default location.
7.     Connect new oracle 10g to instance as user SYSDBA and execute following command:
SQL> startup upgrade
SQL> @catupgrd.sql
SQL>utlu102s.sql
SQL>@utlirp.sql
SQL> shutdown immediate
SQL> startup

  • Upgrading Win7 32-bit to Win7 64-bit

I really don't know if this is the correct category since I'm new here. Anyways
I plan on upgrading my 32-bit Win7 to a 64-bit version. Yes my system is capable of installing it. But i have read around that if you upgrade 32 to 64 you could choose the upgrade option of the installation, but i read that option and it said back up your
    files just in case.
    So my questions are:
    1) If i backuped my files with the windows back up files thing, would upgrading the os wipe out the back up?
    2) If it will wipe out the hard drive how would i back up my files on a 2nd HDD? I have an All-in-1 PC. So that's kind of an issue. HP Touchsmart IQ500
    3) If there is an online back up solution, what are some good trust worthy ones or maybe other methods?
This computer is used for home use. Not a business computer with possible confidential information.
Also this computer used to be Windows Vista, but then the computer got a virus (hooray for Norton) and the fixer guy put on Windows 32-bit ultimate. And eventually the computer said the copy of windows used was a torrented version. So it's not genuine. Would
that also cause problems if i went from Win7 Ultimate 32-bit to Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit?
    Thanks in advance!

First, you can't upgrade Windows 32-bit to 64-bit. This is not supported. You need to perform clean install only. Therefore, you need to backup your files before proceeding.
Second, you need to purchase a new license of Windows as the existing is not genuine. Or if you choose to install Windows Vista (that came with your PC), you can use recovery/reinstallation media provided by HP, which doesn't involve purchase of a separate
license. If not, you can contact HP support and request for an installation media. They may charge you based on their service policy.
Regarding backup, it's a best practise to backup to an external storage device for protection. About online backup, the performance may vary based on the size of the data as well as the internet speed. Local backup is more fast than online backup. There
are a variety of service providers that provide online backup. As they are third party companies, we can't comment on them.

  • How can I install Apple BootCamp with Windows 8 32-bit then upgrade to 64-bit?

I am trying to install Apple Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro 13-inch, bought in early 2013. I have Windows 8 pro 32-bit install package and an install package for 64-bit upgrade.
I received my Windows licenses for free (because I work for a nonprofit). I only have the Windows 8 Pro 32-bit install package. However, I also have the install package to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. The problem is that I can't install the Windows 8 Pro 32-bit on BootCamp to start and then upgrade.
Is there a way to install Windows 8 Pro 32-bit on Apple BootCamp and then upgrade to 64-bit?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

bootcamp don't have any drivers for 32bit win8 I believe
your best bet is to use virtualbox or another of the virtual machine software and install it there

  • Upgraded to 64 bit. How to reinstall and reactivate??

I am a high school engrineering teacher teaching the Infinity Project course.  We originally purchase ten licenses of "LabView for the Infinity Project" and installed them on 32-bit machines.   This summer we upgraded to 64 bit machines.  I realize that I cannot load 32-bit software on a 64 bit machine.   Is there a 64 bit version that I can download for my original license?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello MarsRover,
You should be able to install LabVIEW 32-bit on a 64-bit operating system as long as the 64-bit machine offers a 32-bit compatability/emulation layer. Windows should be fine with either one, and 32-bit LabVIEW has more supported toolkits and modules, so unless you're planning on writing programs that require more than 2 GB of RAM 32-bit LabVIEW is probably the way to go.  If you're using Mac or Linux the situation is a bit more complicated.
As for licensing, you should be able to access 64-bit downloads from ni.com/downloads once you've registered the serial number(s) to your user profile.  A LabVIEW license includes access to both 32-and 64-bit.
    Access your products:
    http://www.ni.com/downloads/products/
If you're planning on using LabVIEW 2013 (and have a license for it), you can also access it here:
    https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/US/EVALLV/content.xhtml
    Hope that helps!

  • Hello.  I have a MacBook Pro with Logic 9 which currently is at 32 bits.  How do I upgrade to 64 bits?

Question:  I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8 and Logic Pro 9, set at 32 bits.  I would like to upgrade to 64 bits.  How do I do that?
    Thank you very much.

Well, I'm beginning to have my doubts about that.  But is there a way I can check to see for sure?  This is a vintage 2007 MacBook.  I just had to replace the logic board & the HD, & now Logic Pro doesn't recognize any of my sound programs/libraries/plug-ins.  Any advice is appreciated.

  • Upgrading to 128-bit encryption

Hello,I would like to know what steps are necessary to upgrade to 128 bit SSL encryption from 40 bit?Currently we have a valid commercial license with key for Tengah/SSL, expiration=never.Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Rick Ellmakeremail: [email protected]

    Hi Arshad,
You have to make sure that you are using the domestic version of WLS(full
    strength) and when weblogic
boots up it gets the correct license for SSL128. By any chance, if
configuration is wrong it will spit out
    error message at srart up.
(NOTE : make sure you use domestic version of Service pack if needed.)

HII need to upgrade to 64 bit OS of my systemthe config isMotherboard is HP 3072 Chipset GM45/GM47 CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 duo Can i upgrade to 64 bit processor? what should i do? Thanks

Hello lightfoot500.  I understand you're curious about installing a backlit keyboard.
Here is the HP Part Surfer page for your ProBook.  This lists all of the available parts for the notebook and their corresponding part numbers.  None of the listed keyboards are notated as being backlit.
As far as installing a keyboard for another notebook it is highly unlikely to work.  The only way to do so would be to disassemble the notebook and see if the part will fit.  However, even if the keyboard is the same size, it is unlikely to be a perfect fit as the location of the parts is going to be significantly different between the ProBook and ENVY series of notebooks.
If you do decide to attempt this upgrade you will need to take a look at your notebook's Maintenance and Service Guide.  This covers how to assemble and disassemble the notebook and will likely prove very helpful.
If you have any further questions let me know.  I hope you have a great afternoon!

You are asking not much aren't you? I mean your DLL acesses directly the
    speaker hardware
in the first function I looked at. Hardware access in 32 bit Windows DLLs is
    a big NONO.
Then looking at the communication source I see that your device is
    appearently a nice GPIB
    device.
In my humble opinion reimplementing the whole piece in LabVIEW would be just
    as hard as
porting it properly to Win32 as a DLL. It is certainly a lot of work
    in any
    case but that
requirement to develop the solution in LabVIEW 4.0 seems rather antiquated
    to me.

  • Upgrade to 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 ??

I'm upgrading my Thinkpad T61 from 32-bit Vista to Windows 7.
Is there any reason I should stick with 32-bit? I plan to do a clean install either way.
As far as I can tell, I'm compatible with 64-bit. Most of my software these days is web-based and I should be fine with Adobe Creative Suite. I'll update my bios if needed before installation.
Any words of wisdom or advice?
    thanks!

    Hello,
One thing to consider is that you may wish to upgrade your T61's memory beyond the currently installed 2GB of RAM.  From looking at this page, the T61 appears to be upgradeable to at leat 4GB of RAM.  With a 32-bit operating system, you will be limited to 3-and-a-fraction GB of RAM, due to limitations in how memory is utilized, but in a 64-bit environment, the problem effectively goes away.  At work, I run Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64 on a T61 with 4GB of RAM.
As RichK noted, some older programs which perform direct hardware access will no longer work (unless updated with 64-bit compatible code), however, any program written in the past five years or so should either run just fine as a 32-bit process, or come in a 64-bit version.

I'm a frequent poster on the Windows 10 forums, and my advice to folks in this situation (which, by the way includes me since one of my Win10 upgrades went badly, as well) is that an old OS that works well on your machine is vastly preferrable to a new OS that works badly. Installing Win10 messes with the partition structure on the hard drive, nearly always, this results in corrupting any original Recovery partition on the drive -- in fact, the EULA mentions that you won't be able to use that to restore your original OS, but it's buried down in there where no one will see it. Presuming you do not have a full image backup of your machine (or you would have said so), at this point, about all you can do is contact HP support and order Recovery Media.  This will be a set of DVDs and a CD, and you can then use them to restore your machine to its original condition.  Unfortunately, this will remove all data, settings, and applications from your drive.  And, given that yours is not a new machine (I presume), HP will require you to purchase that media.

First, I would remove the key from your post as if it is usable, someone can now steal it.
Since this is a volunteer only forum, you are better off contacting HP Support directly for help with a usable key.

  • Will iTunes 10.4 upgrade (Lion 64 bit ver) Not Work With External Drives Any More?

Since i upgraded my MacBook Pro to Lion today, itunes just cannot play anything without going in to to meltdown. Even short tracks stop and stutter, and movies and TV programs are a no go.
All I  get is the dreaded spinning beach ball.
My library is stored on a Firewire 800 external drive as my collection would take up more than my MacBook can hold, but running from an external drive has never been a problem before.
I know the library on the external drives okay, because I was streaming stuff over Airplay to my Apple TV2 half an hour before i did the upgrade, and it was working perfectly.
Does anyone have any idea what this might be or causing it, or how I can rectify it please?
    Thank you

Oh yes, I did that several times.
Actually, I think i have found the answer. I think what was happening was that since this was a new iTunes version (and perhaps its moving from 32-bit to 64-bit type program) that it had to re-index it or catalogue it, or something in that vein anyway. I left iTunes open for a couple of hours and the external disk still attached and it now appears to have settled down, and i can report that its now working just fine.
    Phew!
    Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
