Hello,
I bought an Adobe CS4 Design Premium liecense for windows and I want to upgrade it to CS6 on Mac.
How can I do this and what are the costs ?
Thank you.
Robert KRISTOF

You don't. You missed your deadlines. You can only buy a fresh CS6 license.

It's possible to transfer licenses but it must be done by contacting a Customer Service representative by phone or web chat. They'll probably have you submit a form.

  • Adobe CS4 Design Premium Compatability

    Hello,
My daughter is required to use Adobe CS4 Design Premium by her School. I will have to buy a new laptop for this purpose. In this regard, I have few queries:
Most laptops come with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) OS. Since the Adobe website states that this program is certified for 32-bit, I am not sure whether CS4 could perform perfectly on Vista 64-bit platform?
If the answer to the above is yes, then I intend to purchase a laptop with specs of Intel Duo 2 Core T6500 (2.1 Ghz 800 FSB 2MB Cache), 4GB RAM DDR2 800 MHz, display 1280 x 800, and 250GB 5400 rpm hard drive. Is this hardware sufficient to run CS4?
I am a layman as far as technology is concerned. I called up Adobe technical support 2 times: first time they said it wont work and second time they said it will work!!. I am totally confused. Since this means a significant investment to me, I request help and guidance from anyone on this subject.
    Thanks,
    AlokSaap

As you realize, the sky is the limit in terms of how you can configure a system. You could literally spend $10,000 on a new production PC but that certainly would not necessarily buy you any advantage unless you had particular needs that could take advantage of the extra juice that such a pricey configuration provides.
The problem with your request is that it doesn't say really what the typical user of these 2 to 3 new production PCs will actually be doing. For example, are they doing simple web page design in Dreamweaver with occasional entry into Photoshop to edit low resolution images for web display? Or are they jack-of-all-trade designers with windows open in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator simultaneously dealing with graphically very complex and large files? Dedicated to graphics work or are there half a dozen browser windows plus Outlook (or some other e-mail client) open simultaneously?
Personally, I tend to “over-configure” on the basis that if I buy high quality systems not quite at the bleeding edge, but closer to the leading edge, I'll have a system that has a useful lifetime of at least four to five years although Adobe does “allow” its engineering employees' systems to be replaced every three years. I am currently running on a Dell Precision 5400 workstation (current model is 5500) with dual Xeon Quad Core 3ghz processors, 8GB of memory, two 15000rpm SAS (serially attached SCSI) 300GB disk drives, a DVD+/-R burner, gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, and an nVidia Quadro FX 1700 video card driving a Dell 3007WP 30" monitor (2560x1600pixels). I have a very pedestrian Dell keyboard, but a Microsoft 8000 Bluetooth mouse. I do run quite a bit of stuff on this system using it as the hub in my office for running backups of other systems (to a bunch of IEEE1394-attached external drives), running InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop often in parallel, running tests against a development copy of the Adobe PDF Print Engine running on my system, as well as having e-mail and browsers open at all time. This system is running Vista Ultimate SP2 64-bit. This is really overkill for most users.
What you can get away for your users with of course depends on the tasks they will be running per my questions in the second paragraph above. Without those answers, some generalities:
    (1)     Unless you are doing heavy video work, you really don't need more than one processor. A single processor at approximately 2.5 ghz or better with either 2 or 4 cores will do fine in most cases.
    (2)     Memory is relatively cheap and will enhance performance more than almost any other resource you can buy today. In conjunction with that, go for either Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit (stay away from XP 64-bit like the plague). Why? Even though only Photoshop currently has a 64-bit version that can take advantage of 64-bit processing on its own, the 64-bit OS supports more than 3GB of memory and as such allowing larger amounts of real memory, you avoid the tremendous amount of disk thrashing that goes on as part of virtual memory paging operations when a whole bunch of applications running concurrently are competing for a small amount of real memory. I personally recommend 8 GB of memory in conjunction with Windows 64-bit as a minimum, even on new notebook systems!
    (3)     Disk performance is also key, especially if you are dealing with large data files. As such, 10000rpm Serial ATA or 15000rpm SAS (serially attached SCSI) drives make a tremendous, noticeable difference in performance. However, high performance disks are quite pricey, especially the SAS ones since it is now a limited, specialty market. (For new notebook systems, avoid anything other than 7200rpm drives - the difference in cost for a 5400 versus a 7200rpm drive is quite small now. I just bought a new 500GB 7200rpm drive to update my notebook system - the cost of the drive was less than $150.)
    (4)     You don't need a smoking video card (those things that cost upwards of $500 to $1000) to support the Adobe Creative Suite unless you are doing extensive video work or playing high performance video games in your spare time. Typically, a mid-range video card that supports very high resolution (such as 2560x1600) will be fine. What you don't want, either on a desktop system or a notebook computer, is an “integrated display adapter” that shares memory with the CPU. Typically, such video support appears on low end desktop and/or notebook computers - avoid like the plague!
    (5)     For desktop systems, I'm partial to large, high resolution monitors even though my vision is quite good. I'm dealing with graphic arts and I need/want both high resolution and real estate. Although these 30" 2560x1600 monitors are relatively expensive, with reasonable care, they can last for years. I have one such monitor that is now in its fifth year with no degradation of quality. Cost per day is very low to keep your eyes from going crazy and to make your work more efficient. Once you use one these babies, you can't go back!
    (6)     No preference on motherboards. That decision is generally made for you if you order a system from a major vendor. I personally am not into build-it-yourself systems. Not that I can't build those, but quite frankly, my own time is worth something and my biggest problem is having enough time to do everything I want. I get no particular pleasure in DIY computer building.
More if you give me more specifics about the usage profiles for the systems you will need to purchase.

  • Is there a way i can install one licensed adobe cs4 design premium in both my desktop and lap top?

I just bought a macbook pro and would like to install adobe cs4 design premium on it, but I also like to keep it install on my desk top. Is there a way i can install one licensed application on both computers? Thanks for your help.

Read the license agreement . There will be a lot of impenetrable legalese gobbledygook in it, no doubt, but I bet it will be crystal clear on the subject of how many computers the software can be installed and activated on at once.
    My money is on one.

I own Adobe CS4 Design Premium Suite and want to install it on 2 computers in my home. Can I with 1 serial number?

Yes.  A single user license allows for activated installations on two machines of the same platform type (Windows versus Mac).  A limitation in this allowance is that only one of the machines can be using the Suite software at any given time.

  • Adobe CS4 Design Premium software

I have the Adobe CS4 Design Premium software that was purchased 10-09.  I am trying to install it on my Desktop Computer and keep getting an error message.  I had it installed on the Desktop which was running Windows XP and my hard drive crashed.  I install a new hard drive with Windows 7 on it.  I did have the CS4 suite installed on the old hard drive.  How can I get past the error message on the first install disk so that I can complete the installation and have all of the apps running correctly?

And that error message is exactly...? You have omitted the most important part.

  • How do I install Adobe CS4 Design Premium on a Non-System Drive?

I am trying to install Adobe CS4 Design Premium on a Non-System Drive, but it appears
that there is no option to do so. Is there a workaround to changing the installation location?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for your answer. The reason is because I am working on a Navy computer with limited space on my C Drive.  I have more space available to me on a "D" Drive.  I am running Windows XP with 3GB RAM and 17GB on the D.  I only have 10GB on the C Drive, but that needs to stay open for system patches, & other software.  Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 is installed on the C.
    Thank you for your response.

  • Is adobe Cs4 design premium compatible with macbook pro 2011?

I just bought a macbook pro 2011, 2.2 ghz quad core i7 to work with my adobe design premium 4. I heard many software have problems with mac os lion. I got so worry and want to return the macbook. Does anyone know if i can run adobe cs4 on this new macbook pro or should i return it? Thank for your responses.

i am running design premium CS4 on a Pro with Lion and have had no real problems. using DW, PS, ID, FL and BR without any issues.
NB: WHEN YOU INSTALL, BE SURE YOU NOMINATE A SUBFOLDER IN YOUR APPLICATIONS TO INSTALL TO, OR YOUR APPLICATIONS FOLDER WILL BE OVERTAKEN WITH CS4 ICONS.
apologies for the caps, but this is really important. I didn't do this and it resulted in the only problem i am having with the software, which is not a huge deal, only affecting AME as far as i can tell, though I can't figure out how to fix it, have asked on this forum without luck (so far!)
    hope this helps

  • Impossible install or uninstall Adobe CS4 Design Premium - Win

    Hello,
I own a license for Creative Suite Design Premium Educational Ita Cs4, installed in Windows Vista 32 bit SP1.
After 3 or 4 months from installation (and a malware infection) Acrobat didn't start displaying error "Licensing for this product stop working". Other programs works, only Indesign speaks English and not Italian.
After several trials I decided to uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 and then reinstall it. I uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 and then problems starts...
After the uninstallation I was unable to use Adobe DVD for installing or uninstalling any program. When I click on Setup.exe appears Installation windows but when I choose install nothing happens. (In Windows Task Manager there is Setup.exe process).
So I try to uninstall Creative Suite to make a new clean installation but it,s impossible using Adobe DVD, Windows Cntrol Panel or program such Revo Uninstaller. In Revo Uninstaller and Windows Installation Manager Creative Suite and single applications simply disappears.
All this works was done as administrator.
    Someone could help me?

  • Problem to install Adobe Cs4 design premium on mac Mountain Lion

    Hi,
I've changed my old Macbook pro (my OS was Snow Leopard) for the last new Imac. I did back up everything on an external disk with Time Machine.
When I've started for the first time on the new Imac with Mountain Lion, I've restored everything from the external disk.
But when I started Photoshop Cs4 or Illustrator Cs4, I got this message : Error 150:30
So I did unsinstalled the creative suite, clean all as recommended here :
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4673667
    I've downloaded a creative suite cs4 Trial from : http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
But when I install it, the process stop after a while and a window appears with :
"This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which is no longer supported.
Please contact the application author for an updated version."
I suppose that the downloaded version is too old for Mountain Lion.
Could someone give an hand to work it out please.
    Thanks.
PS : I've got my ID and my serial number
I used a downloaded version because there's no CD lector on the new IMac.

  • Adobe CS4 Design Premium "Goodies" Fonts

I installed the fonts from the "Goodies" disk thinking I was getting a bunch of extra fonts with CS4. All I got is a TON of garbage that all looks the same. Digitally looking fonts. What is the purpose of all these extra fonts if they all look the same? Is something wrong with them? I cannot find any info on these.

These fonts are vector-based pixel font emulations that are specifically designed to remain aliased in Flash. Aliased fonts improve legibility by having increased contrast, especially at small sizes.
You should post in the Flash forums to find out more info if you're interested.

  • How do I re-download my Adobe CS4 Design Premium Suite without the discs?

I purchased the physical discs from Adobe in October of 2009 and found my serial number. I no longer have the discs, but need to get the programs on my new-ish iMac (2010). I deactivated and uninstalled the suite from my previous computer, and can't find a link where I can download the suite to my new computer. Any ideas or can someone post a link that's NOT prodesigntools.com? Does Adobe still offer this?

Adobe has recently created a download portal for previous versions

  • Best graphics card to run Adobe CS4 Design Premium?

I am looking to upgrade the graphics card in my PowerMac G5 to take advantage of Creative Suite 4's new GPU features. I am currently using a Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 that is getting choppy in Creative Suite and while using features like Spaces, Expose, Time Machine, etc. I would like to know what I am capable of running on my four year old machine (June 2004), are there limits to what card I can use in that machine? The machine is actually still really fast but it does slow down with features that rely heavily on the graphics card.
Also are there graphics cards that come with both a Mini DisplayPort and a DVI port? I am not sure if I will get a Mini DisplayPort monitor it the future like the new Cinema Displays but I would like to know that I have the option to do so.
It would be nice if it wasn't really loud as well.

I would only buy a card listed as Mac compatible and only the one for my model. Here's what looks to be the real McCoy. Price is outrageous, but if your watchful and attentive you can occasionally get them for around three hundred. http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-Radeon-X800-XT-G5-Mac-Edition-256MB-AGP-Video-CardW0QQitemZ220294124755QQcmdZViewItem?trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
There do appear to be cards listed that are questionable. I'm not sure if PCs used AGP cards, if so I don't think they would work.
But from this page you can see other Mac AGP options. http://computers.shop.ebay.com/items/W0QQ_dmptZPCCQ5fVideoQ5fTVQ5fCards?_nkw=G5AGP+video+cards&_sacat=58058&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=apple+agpcards&osacat=0
There is a debate going on about whether Nvidia or ATI cards work better for certain apps. Some say programs like Motion, Final Cut Pro, After Effects run better with ATI cards. The jury is out.
Edit: There should be no driver issues, the mac os has them.
