Upgrade an Upgrade?

Can I upgrade an upgrade of Final Cut Pro 5? It is not an academic version. I originally purchased Final Cut Express years ago and upgraded to Final Cut Pro when that was still allowed. Can I now upgrade to Final Cut Studio3? Both previous versions were purchased from the apple store as retail versions and I have the discs and serial #s for both. I think the answer is yes but I'm not completely sure and I don't want to open the software and risk not being able to return it if I'm wrong.
Thanks

Hi Laurie.
You need to have a full price retail version of Final Cut Pro or Studio in your possesion.
If you have that, you qualify for the newest version at the upgrade price of $299.

  • Oracle Upgrade --  Pre-Upgrade 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1

    Hello,
I want to do an Oracle Upgrade to version 11.2g!
At this point I did some things (in Windows Server 2003 X64):
    1-) Install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (DVD Media);
    2-) Installation of Oracle patchset 10.2.0.4 (note 871735);
    3-) Installation of interim / last generics patch (note 1137346);
4-) Installation of SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 by SAPInst
5-) After SAP installation I did all the corrections in Oracle parameters as it mentioned in note 830576.
As you see above, all the SAP system was well installed!
But now I want to do the Oracle Upgrade process to the last version, Oracle DB 11.2g  (11.2.0.1)... and so I´m following the Upgrade guide "Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Windows.pdf" with some SAP notes for Upgrade process.
So I´m at this point in planning chapter where is recommended to check so things in actual database, one of this checks are running some SQL-scripts to perform an Oracle database upgrade with DBUA to release 11.2 (as mentioned in note 1431793 - Oracle 11.2.0: Upgrade Scripts)
I ran two Pre-Scripts, the @pre_upgrade_status.sql and @pre_upgrade_tasks.sql but both outputs showed some warnings and they are worrying me... so what I ask to you is some kind of help in analyse of them and tell me if this issues are relevant for the upgrading process and if so, what you recommend me to do to correct their!
Next I will post here this two log scripts... they are long!!!

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. Nobody can tell you when you'll need to upgrade, as it depends on the software you're running, the operating system that software requires, and the state of your hardware. You've added memory, which you needed to do with Mountain Lion, and you could replace the hard drive with an SSD for better disk performance.

  • Can I upgrade an upgrade version of IDCS2 to IDCS3?

Hello. My company started off back in the day with Creative Suite and then to move on our ID we purchased upgrade versions of ID CS2. Can I now purchase an upgrade to CS3 or do we need to start afresh? What I'm asking really is can I upgrade an upgrade?
    Many thanks
    Helen

Yes, you can upgrade and upgrade. We started back with Illy 7 (or 6, I'm not sure) and have been upgrading ever since.
Unless things have changed (and if I remember correctly), If CS2 is currently installed on the machine you are upgrading, then you should be good; the upgrade will find the previous valid installation. If it is a new machine, or one with no Adobe installation, you will need to have the original media or product key on hand (I don't remember which--and that's ORIGINAL, not the last upgrade) for validation purposes during the install.
In either case, you will need any new product key supplied with the upgrade.

  • Can I upgrade an upgrade?

    OK.
I currently have no creative suite full or full product, etc.
I am finding a few places where I can get a Creative Suite 3 Design Standard or Web Standard UPGRADE.  Note: UPGRADE
I have asked support chat, but I am a bit wary. They say that I can buy the CS4 Production Premium, Design Standard, whatever UPGRADE and upgrade the CS3 UPGRADE.
    Can anyone verify this?
In other words, if I purchase a CS3 upgrade disc without having a full copy of a previous version would I be able to upgrade to CS4 (whatever suite) with that CS3 upgrade disc without providing anything else?

    On behalf of Adobe ...
You could only buy a CS4 Upgrade to upgrade a CS3 Upgrade if the CS3 Upgrade was actually upgrading something.
At some point, you would have had to have a FULL product, not just an upgrade.
              - Dov
PS:     Take Michael Kazlow's comment to heart. Much of what is offered in terms of old versions of either full or update products is bogus, either having already been used as the basis of someone's upgrade, pirated software, or attempts to illegally "unbundle" bulk licenses. Buyer beware! (Of course, per above, an "upgrade" version of CS3 won't help you anyway if you don't already have a full version!)

  • Win 8.1: Reset vs Install on partitioned drive (XP- upgrade 8- upgrade 8.1) now need clean install

    This is a little complicated.
    I have a Thinkpad T-60 (4GB) and a T-61p (8GB)
Both machines have SATA drives partitioned in 3 (System, Images, Data)
Originally, both had XP (the T-61p was RAM upgraded to 8 GB before upgrade (remember the $50 early-bird special?)
I upgraded the T60 without problem (as I recall).
I had to get the 64-bit physical upgrade as you could only download the version you already had (32-bit; remember that disaster?) for the T-61p.
Figuring I had 4 GB on the T-60, I used 64 bit as well, ending up with only 3 GB active.  I take it this was a waste and should have just used the  32-bit, right?
I clean installed (as I recall) 8.1 using a generic 8 key (right?) and then an 8.1 key (right?, or is that an 8 key that will still activate 8.1?)
So here it is 3 years later +/- and both 8.1 installs are pretty trashed so...
    I downloaded both the 8.1 32-bit and 64-bit .iso's
    I have my serial #'s
I tried a Reset on my Server last night (whole disk, no partitions) - it worked, and gave me an option to wipe all disks, or just the C: system disk (which I did, others intact). It is fine, all settings gone, no trash.
Now the question is what will happen with my partitioned drives. I want a clean install on the C: partition, and D: and E: left alone.
Will Reset trash all the partitions and load the entire disk? (NOT what I want) .. or ..
Should I use the Install option? (which I assume will go through the partition manager) and allow me to clean install on C: only.
Lastly, if I have read correctly, there is no point in putting 64-bit on the T-60 (4 GB) as all you end up is 3 GB active anyway, so I should go back to 32-bit and avoid the 64-bit headaches?
    Thanks!!!

  • Still no WiFi on iPhone 4s after OS7 upgrade - Need upgrade

    Dear Verizon, Apple et al,
You've got us between a rock and a hard place. My daughter's recently upgraded iPhone 4s has no Wifi. With four phones on Verizon and as long-time customers, we've been very good and loyal. But this situation is untenable. With a year-old phone my daughter upgraded her device to OS7 when it become available (and was prompted to). Since then (beginning of September, within her year warranty period) her phone has been unable to connect to Wifi. The Wifi is greyed out. We are a long-time Apple family and when I say, I've done everything...it means, I've tried everything with this phone to get it working again. She was away at college and unable to get into an Apple store before her year warranty expired, so she was unable to get a replacement. We kept waiting for Apple to provide a fix. To issue a statement. To own up to the mess they've caused. Nothing.. Really? Oh Apple, how far you've fallen. Steve Jobs on his fluffy  iCloud is definitely turning over and frowning.
Verizon, we need an upgraded devise. Her phone quit functioning within the year period (you can see this by the alarming amount of data she's using), but she couldn't travel to Apple or Verizon to get it replaced within that time period. Can you take care of this please? We'll have to go elsewhere for her, and once one has left the fold, the rest will follow.
    Thank you,
    Long-time customer
    DJhinVA

I agree with you. So many of us 4s users have been affected by this. I am at the two year mark myself so no warranty replacement for me unfortunately. I tried all apples suggested fixes and nothing works. Putting it in the fridge can get me going for a few minutes and I am able to update some of my larger apps this way, but in general my data usage has certainly increased and I have to really monitor it closely now. I believe it is Apples problem to deal with and remedy this issue warranty or not, it is obvious that it is the iOS 7 upgrade that has screwed the 4s users. Whether intentional or not it appears to be a conspiracy theory to get us to upgrade to the iPhone 5 which is really sad. I like the apple line and there is just no coincidence that so many 4s users were and are being affected by this plague of losing wifi capability so soon after this so called "fantastic" upgrade was announced and encouraged to be implemented. If I knew then what I know now I would have never upgraded! This just shows me two things, apple didn't not fully test this upgrade thoroughly enough, or that it shows the 4s was created with sub standard components which were over tasked and burned out with the iOS 7 update or soon thereafter. Apples only option for me was to pay them $199 to have my phone replaced! I would sooner spend $199 towards a new iPhone 5s before getting a replacement 4s that is sure to fail due to these existing issues. OR, has Apple pushed out the iOS 7.03 and 7.04 updates to rectify the problem and prevent more 4s phones from burning up their chips!? If so that is great however it leaves those of us that have already been affected holding the bag of goods and have been seriously harmed in the process. Apple needs to stand up and do the honorable thing to rectify the situation such in a manner that is similar with recalls on automobiles. For my phone I believe the damage is done and the updates have physically irreversibly damaged my phone. This is your one chance Apple, to make this right. Should you choose not to do so reflects a disgrace not only for your company as a whole but also for your employees from top to bottom as this in turn will hurt your future sales and profits like you have never seen. You have taken pride in producing quality products in the past. You were the leader that other OS followed. Now it appears you are following other OS's and your fan base is dropping like a rock. Not providing a viable solution to this problem will only hurt your reputation and status further. You have a choice to do what is right, and I seriously hope you will take it. I personally have more than 6 different iDevices in my own and will elect to buy non Apple products in the future along with encouraging other friends and family members to follow suit based on my own recent experience with your 4s / Debacle. Word of mouth goes a long way and can certainly turn out to be your worst enemy! Here is your chance Apple to do what is right, please make this right. Others reading this far, see the "White House Petition" that you can sign regarding this issue. Search the forums for link.

    Hi,
I am getting the below given erro while upgrading hyperion planning from 9.3.1 to 11.1.1.3
I have done the following steps in sequence to achive the upgrade:
    1. Created a planning application "plantest" on 9.3.1 , created hireachy and "create Database" from planning to make the essbase outile.
    2. took the backup of planning db repository from 9.3.1 using expdp in a dumpfile.

  • Mail and Notes stopped working on my Macbook after 10.8.5 upgrade   iOS7 upgrade

    Hello
I recently upgraded my system to 10.8.5.
I also recently upgraded my 2 iphones to iOS7.
Then i found out my Notes were not syncing on my macbook pro, but the sync works fine on both iphones and when i check the iCloud website, they are also updated.
Then mail also stopped working and after reading some posts on this forum, i understand that mail and notes are somehow connected (both using IMAP?)..
I can't configure my iCloud email account on the mail app, i get a "iCloud IMAP « p03-imap.mail.me.com » not responding" answer, whatever i do. I tried deleting the account, deleting all entries linked to the mail app in the keychain, changing my iCloud password to match new apple password requirements.... nothing works.
And all my other email accounts don't work anymore either. Mail just won't connect with any Imap or Pop server.
My internet works fine, I can access all those emails account via webmail interfaces.
Again, my iCloud works fine on all other iOS7 devices.
    What's the problem??
    Thanks
    jk

    Mail.
Hold down the option key and go to Finder/Go, then select your User Library. Select Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

  • HT5037 It doesn't work for me. Anyone got any suggestions? Just gets into a loop where I upgrade and then launch and it says I need to download the upgrader and upgrade again. Help!!

I want to open some old iphoto libraries. The new iphoto says I have to upgrade the library, so I downloaded the upgrader and ran it on the library I wanted to upgrade and still it would not open, just kept giving me the same error message about needing to upgrade the library!! How can I open that old library file?

Did you go to Applications/Utilities and find the upgrader app and then double click it?
