Upgrade BOCD XI R2 to BO Edge 3.1

Hello,
Is it possible to upgrade the BOCD XI R2 (which was renamed to Edge in subsequent product releases) to BO Edge 3.1. The Edge 3.1 documentation only talks about upgrade from BO Edge 3.0, however does not explicitly list which upgrade paths are supported.
For BOE it is possible to upgrade from BOE XI R2 to 3.1 but there is a requirement that the XI R2 system be on SP2. There is on SP2 for BOCD XI R2 as far as I can tell.
Any clarity on this is greatly appreciated!

I do not believe this is possible with a wizard but you probably can do it with the CCM DB copy/FRS copy, which is how the wizard did it anyway.  The steps should be in SAP notes and in the 3.1 admin guide.
The general steps are install 3.1, then stop the SIA, go to properties > configuration > select DB > then point the source to the BOCD to copy the DB then copy the FRS.

    I went to the Verizon store and talked to Customer Service and even though I have 2 lines that were purchased prior to 11/13/2013 for some reason my account isn't flagged correctly for this new promotion so I've been denied upgrading both of my lines. Customer Service's only advice to me was to write a letter and mail or fax (yes, handwrite a letter that has to be mailed or faxed) to the Correspondence Team that would then contact Corporate to possibly fix this issue. Anyone have any other advice or are having this issue?

    The line that I signed up for Edge on was ready to upgrade (either new 2-year or Edge). I didn't receive a return slip or bag to send in my old iPhone. Do I have to send it in, or can I keep it?

        Great question rmccoy34 and congratulations on the purchase of a new phone. If you were eligible for either a new 2 year upgrade or joining Edge, you will not have to turn in your old phone. You can trade it in http://vz.to/1uNPDOF if you like to receive the value that is assigned for the phone however it does not have to be traded in. You would only need to do so when you are attempting to Edge up to another phone. I certainly hope this helps and again, enjoy your new phone.

  • Can I merge several different Verizon plans (different family members each have own plans) into one plan (i.e. can I take over all their lines), if all lines on all plans are on Edge?

    I was originally told by Verizon that if I joined, I can eventually take over the lines of various family members.  Now that I've joined, and my family members all upgraded their phones and are on Edge, Verizon is telling us that we can't merge into one plan (because Edge lines can't be transferred to another account).
    Is this true, and, if so, what is my recourse since I was lied to.

    Well, yes and no (as far as being lied to).  I asked on several occasions (I have the chat transcripts to prove it) if there would be any issue if the lines were all already on Edge, and was told each time that under no circumstances would there be any issue.  The latest being today (I know it's after the fact, but I wanted proof that this is what the chat people are saying).  I asked "I have currently have an account with 3 phones on Edge.  My brother and his wife, and my parents, also have plans all on Edge.  I would like to 'take over' their lines.  I want to make sure there is no issue with the Edge plan and that I can simply 'take over' their lines with no problems."  I was told "Yes. That would be correct."  Again, this is what I was told in the past as well (my original post didn't make clear the timing of the chats and upgrades to Edge..).  Every time I chatted I mentioned that the accounts were going to be on Edge or (later on) were already on Edge.  Even before my family members upgraded to Edge, not one single chat or phone representative (and my brother asked the same thing in a store) mentioned NOT to upgrade to Edge because it couldn't be transferred.  Everyone just said yep, no problem.  The ONLY reason I even joined Verizon (I was on Straight Talk) was because of the More Everything and Edge plans (we wanted a family plan with 6 people and over 10GB so we'd each save $25/line).  Otherwise I never would have joined Verizon and my family wouldn't have upgraded either.

  • Is there a reason why Firefox does not work on my Galaxy Edge?

    I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge; love the phone, it works great. The downside is that Firefox doesn't seem to work properly, it goes from extremely low while displaying Web pages to not displaying anything at all. At first I thought it was something with the phone but as soon as I switch to Chrome everything works normal. I use Firefox on my laptop and have bookmarks and passwords stored in it. Previously I had a Samsung GS4 and syncing data from laptop to phone was a piece of cake. I like Chrome and I know it could do the same but I'd like to stick to Firefox if possible. Hope the Mozilla team can fix it soon.

    # Tell us what exact model of Note Edge? e.g. Verizon Note Edge, AT&T Note Edge. We have had problems where obscure carrier variants of phones and tablets don't work but the popular variants do work (e.g. in one case the AT&T HTC One M8 worked fine but the Verizon HTC One M8 didn't)
    # Tell what version of the Android Operating system? Are you using Kitkat 4.4 or Lollipop 5?
    # Could you please tell us what you did (what do you mean by "from extremely low while displaying Web pages to not displaying anything at all"; which websites exactly) what happened and what you expected. A sample URL of a website and screenshot would be super helpful

  • What to Do About an Upgrade?

    Okay, here's my dilemma....
    I upgraded to my current phone, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, in January 2013, making it eligible for an upgrade in January 2014.  Since my wife's phone was working fine at the time, I transferred her upgrade to get the phone.  Last February, I transferred my upgrade (which was originally her upgrade) back to my wife's line, as she was in sore need of a new phone (hers was falling apart, literally).  We got her an iPhone 4S with the upgrade.  By doing the transfer, it made my Nexus eligible for an upgrade in February 2016, which of course, I can re-transfer back to my phone this coming January.
    Well, January is a little more than three months away, and wouldn't you know it, my Nexus is starting to go wacky.  I think the problem is in the phone's internal USB adapter.  It takes several minutes for the charging icon to light up when I insert the charging cable, and the icon stays lit for several minutes after I disconnect.  Also, I'm noticing that the battery is either not charging properly, or not holding a charge.  I have two batteries (the original, and an extended life battery I purchased later), and they're both exhibiting the same problem, so my thinking is that it's the phone's internal circuitry and not the batteries themselves.
    I recently received an e-mail offering an early upgrade on my wife's iPhone through the Edge program, as hers has the January upgrade date.  No problem, I figured....I could transfer the Edge upgrade back to my line.  Except when I went to the local Verizon store, I was told I couldn't transfer an Edge upgrade.
    To make a long story short, I'm stuck with a Nexus that isn't charging properly for the next three months, and no way to upgrade it.  I looked it up, and replacing the USB circuitry would cost around $50 in parts alone, and would require taking the phone apart (which I'm not totally comfortable with).  Being a little more than 90 days away from an upgrade, it's not even worth the replacement cost in the maintenance plan, as I plan to get an iPhone 5 with my upgrade.  So what are my options?  If the Edge upgrade was transferable, I'd be in good shape, but as it stands, I've got to hope and pray that my Nexus doesn't totally bite the dust between now and January.  Anyone have a suggestion?  Thanks!

    That certainly depends on how much you need a phone. Some people ALWAYS pay full price for their phones as they don't like to be tied to contracts.

    I don't think you understand an Edge agreement if you want to "transfer the Edge upgrade with a contract extension". Edge agreements do not come with a service contract. Edge agreements are simply a payment plan spreading out the full retail price of a phone over 20 equal payments. If you want to upgrade before you have completed all 20 payments, you must have paid a minimum of 60% of the full retail price and return the Edge phone in good working order before you would be able to purchase another phone on Edge. I suppose you can "transfer the Edge upgrade", but the line you are transferring from would have to return their phone in good working order if they had not yet completed the payments AND make an additional payment to bring their total payments up to the 60% level if it was not already there. Not sure how that would benefit you???

  • Verizon Edge Agreement

    Earlier today I was going through the routine of upgrading my phone and switching is Edge.  I got to the point of the process where you view the Verizon Edge agreement.  I did not accept because I was debating on a different phone.  I backed out and cleared my cart.  Later I was in My Verizon and noticed under my documents tab there was a copy of the agreement I had viewed with today's date.  I scrolled down to the bottom of it and there was no signature.  I checked order status and that was empty.  Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it in there just because I viewed and read it?  Thanks in advance.

  • Since upgrading to new version 3, my symbols layers are invisible?

    Since upgrading to new version of Adobe Edge animate 3, my symbols layers are invisible?
    The animation was originated in version 2, which works fine still, yet when I open the file in version 3, the symbols layers are not showing up on the stage?
    Any advice would be great as seems a shame to continue working in an older version.

    Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
    Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
    Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
    Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

  • Can someone explain the more everything plan with edge up

    I have a share everything plan with 4 smartphones and 6 gig of data.  we are soon due for upgrades due to our 2 year contract being up.  I am starting to do some research and am confused on how the more everything plan with edge up works.
    questions
    1.  do we have to buy new phones to get the discounts offered by this plan?
    2.  will my company discount still work with the discounts of the edge up plan?
    3.  my 4th device is a year oir so from upgrade elegability do we need to wait or can we put that device on the edge up plan now?
    4.  if we upgrade to this more everything plan with edge up do we need to turn in our old phones?

        Upgrading is always exciting, gbright! You can save up to $25 per line when upgrading with Edge. This does require you upgrading your device and accepting an Edge agreement. You will still qualify for your monthly employee discount off the More Everything access charges as long as the plan is $34.99 or higher. Each line has its own contract/edge agreement. You do not need to wait for the 4th line to be eligible to take advantage of Edge or the discounts. If you are eligible for the standard Edge, you do not need to trade in your current devices. You only trade in the devices when it is early edge. I can provide you more details in a private message.

  • XFL - can someone explain CUBICS attribut in the EDGE tag?

    As there is no XFL documentation, I would like to ask if someone knows what's the CUBICS attribut in EDGE tag used for. I have a script which creates new shapes in XFL, but I don't know how to deal with the cubics part. I don't create it, but than I notice that there are issues when I try to edit shape whithout the cubics info in the IDE (like adding new point). The solution is to touch the shape a little bit, save and reload the source which creates the CUBICS records, but anyway, I would like to understand it a little bit.
    Here is a simple example how cubics looks like:

  • No 3G, only edge?

    running on 3.1. It seems that since my upgrade, I can only connect in edge, I haven't seen a 3G connection since. I'm in Toronto with Rogers as a provider.

    Try a reset. To reset the iPhone, press and hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the slide to power off prompt). Else, give Rogers a call.

  • Wifi Calling on non-EE S6 Edge

    Hi there, Last week I upgraded in-store to an S6 Edge on my pay-monthly plan.  I then dropped the phone after 48hrs smashing the screen (I know...). I have insurance through my bank account and they have promptly delivered a new S6 Edge to me.  However, it doesn't have the EE firmware installed and as such, Wifi Calling isn't available to me. Is there anything can be done - are EE able to flash the firmware onto my handset or maybe there are plans to allow 'non-EE' handsets to use what is a very useful feature? Many thanks,

    Generally using any unofficial tool to flash a phone will void the warenty if detected
    Samsungs seem to include a flash counter that may or may not be tripped by using odin to install a different firmware
    Generally best advice to a customer is don't do it as it will void the warenty (may if you want to be precise) then its on the customers head if they go ahead anyway

    Not caught up with Win 10 yet. Doesn't Edge do POP3?

    any ideas on why email is kicking out and unable to send on edge network and only on my wifi network? Everything was fine prior to upgrade, now getting error when on edge network and unable to connect to server.
    settings for my outgoing pop account:

    I have 2 Iphones. One is working great sending and receiving both on EDGE and WiFi. It is attached to a IMac G5. The other phone assigned to my partner is receiving on EDGE and WiFi, but won't send on EDGE only on Wifi. Says the server failed. My partners Iphone is connected to a old Mac computer that does not have USB 2 and the synching is very sketchy, so we are upgrading her. Could the problem be that due to the phone not synching it is not picking up the right settings? Help? Her Iphone internal setting are set up exactly like mine as is her computer same as mine. Only difference is her computer does not have the required USB2 that it needs for proper synching. Help someone?

  • Email folders disappeared after upgrading to Windows 10

    After upgrading to Windows 10 (and using Edge rather than IE), all of the folders etc. on the left side of my Verizon email disappeared.  I can move emails to folders but I can't see the folders.  Does anyone know how to fix?

    A VZ DSL Tech told me last week to use Google Chrome or another browser (other than I.E. 11) since I Upgraded to WINDOWS 10 on Aug 3.  I think he said this issue also affects FiOS users. In I.E. 11, I see NO Folders on left, and NO New eMails.  Only page headers. In MICROSOFT's new EDGE, the Folders are missing on the LEFT but the NEW eMails show. The VZ Tech said VZ know about this issue but that VZ cannot resolve it.  It is a MICROSOFT issue.  My hunch is that IF IT IS a MICROSOFT issue, a "FIX" will come out in a WINDOWS 10 UPDATE.  The VZ Tech could NOT give me a time frame.  So for now, I use CHROME to check my VZ Email.  I've read posts where some are able to use Firefox. Best wishes.
