Upgrade Client from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 on Windows 7 / INS-30071

Hi,
I want to upgrade the client (Administrator) on my system from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3. Is this not directly possible due the new Update mechanism in 11.2.0.2? I can choose "Upgrade client", but it fails with INS-30071, and I can't find any logs to analyze this error further. OS is Windows 7.

All you need to do is to install 11.2.0.3 into a new ORACLE_HOME, then uninstall 11.2.0.1

Issues with upgrading client from 1.2 to 3.0

I've upgraded a bunch of Mac's ARD client from 1.2 to 3.0 using ARD 3 admin's upgrade client feature. On some, I can't Observe or Control. So far I can copy files, run reports, and see current status. I can also ssh into machines with no problems. I've run the updater a second time and no go.
All of these Macs were on 10.3.6. So sshed into them and ran all updaters and repaired permissions. Then upgraded ARD client.
Any thoughts on whats the cause of this problem and how to remedy it?
Any suggestions is appreciated.

More info after some testing.
Noticed machines that started out with base OS 10.3.1 with subsequent updates are the ones having observe/control issue. Most update progressions: 10.3.2, 10.3.3, 10.3.6 combo, 10.3.9 combo.
Machines that started out with base OS 10.3.5 are not effected after upgrading to 10.3.9.
Repaired permissions, updated binding, re-applied 10.3.9 combo update to one machine with no change.
Removed client by taking following steps - KB 108021
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\ Extras/RemoteDesktop.menu
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/PreferencePanes/ARDPref.prefPane
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/StartupItems/RemoteDesktopAgent/
$ sudo rm /Library/Preferences/com.apple.ARDAgent.plist not applicable in any of my configs
$ sudo rm /Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteManagement.plist
Built an client installer package using ARD 3 admin and still can't Observe/Control but most other items seem to function.
I'm suspecting this has to do with base OS these machines were built on. Running out of ideas. I would like to find out whats preventing me to control machine instead of rebuilding a bunch of machine. Any input is appreciated.

Silently/remotely upgrading clients from 10.6 to 10.7 via ARD/Script

Hi!
Apple finally made it possible to upgrade from a major OS (10.6 to 10.7) via an application running on the client, rather than having to boot of a DVD on 100 individual computers.
Does anyone know of a way to kick this installation procedure off remotely?
Currently I am remoting onto the machines via ARD and manually clicking the "Install Mac OS X Lion" app, then choosing Next, Next, Next, Install
it would be nice to be able to schedule this via an ARD task so the installer runs silently without the need to click on the GUI to kick off the installation.
Any ideas?

I can add it's the same with upgrading to Lion... So I guess they changed some driver code between 10.6.7 and 10.6.8 and its not compatible with my logic board.

I can't upgrade clients from ARD admin

I am trying to upgrade all my client machines to ARD 3.3.2. But when I try doing this from ARD admin, it comes back failing with no error message returned. What could be causing this?

Have you tried restarting the workstations and then trying the update? That's often cured the problem for me when an update fails.

I'm new to JMS client. Recently, I was tasked to look into re-writing
one of our old applications that was using JMS client 3.0.
The company is going to upgrade all the existing JMS client from
3.0 to 5.0 and Sonic MQ from 4.0 to 6.1
Please advise how should I go about doing it? Will there be any
major changes in my JMS client when it upgrades from 3 to 5?

Can any one please let me know the process to upgrade the Essbase Client from Version 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.2 on LINUX 64 BIT Server. Is it possible to upgrade the essbase client alone or do we need to upgrade the Essbase Server as a whole? Also, does Essbase upgrade is possible from 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.2 on LINUX ?
If Essbase client upgrade is not possible, can you please tell the list of Files that need to be download to Install Essbase server V 11.1.2.2 on LINUX.

Have a read of the following doc in Oracle Support - "How to Install the Essbase Client Tools MaxL and ESSCMD on a Planning Server Installed on Unix Server [ID 1477705.1]"
I know the title of the doc is not exactly the same as the question but it gives you an idea of the process based on 11.1.2.2, the easiest solution is probably to apply the maintenance release to upgrade from 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.2

1) do I need to apply just 10.2.0.4 patch or do I have to apply 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.3 as well?
2) also do we get the separate software for upgrading client versions.
I am trying to check under Patches tab in metalink and unable to get any output.

My client is upgrading from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0
We are planning to use SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in the upgrade plan from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 for Data Migration.
we have no idea whether we can use this SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in SAP upgrade data migration.
The bottom line is we have to make use this Data Services (Data Integrator) product in our upgrade plan for Data Migration.
Please tell us if anybody already used it such kind of scenario in a data migration project with Data Services(Data Integrator).
If we can use Data Service(Data Integrator) what are the pros and cons in using this Data Services(Data Integrator).

My opinion is you would want to utilize SAP tools to port the data - our SAP BASIS administrator is out this week but we can provide exact tool names when he returns. ELM (External List Management), IDOC are some of the tools.
You could use DS/DI to export, cleanse, deduplicate the records prior to importing with SAP tools if that is your end goal.
We also offer a data quality tool that extends DS/DI to cleanse/deduplicate name/address records as they are entered into the system. It also comes with batch tools to cleanse/dedup the entire systems name/address information. See Data Quality Management for SAP for further details.

[SOLVED] upgrading postgresql from 9.0.4

I am trying to upgrade postgresql from 9.0.4 to 9.2.3 using the directions from the wiki (postgresql page, under "upgrading"), due to systemd causing my connections to be refused on my socket for 9.0.4...

Internet Based Client Management - upgrade clients

Hi.
I have a customer, who wants to deploy an SCCM site and Internet Based clients. Main purpose is to patch manage the clients.
I have one concern though - the certificate and client deployment AND the ongoing upgrade of clients.
I believe, we will have to deploy certificates from the internal PKI and install the clients manually/scripted - right?
How about upgrading clients when a CU is installed on the SCCM-server? Can Internet Based clients automatically upgrade or will we have to manually install every time a new client is available?

The certificate doesn't have to be of the internal PKI it can come from anywhere as long as it can be used to authenticate the client.
When you're dealing with Internet-only clients then yes the client needs to be manually/ scripted installed to specifically provide the client with the right information.
Once the client is installed the normal CU packages can be used to upgrade the clients.

Problems installing SBO 2005 B Client (from CD or Server)

Hello,
I set up SBO 2005 B on an SQL Server, applied the latest patches and tried to install the client on some maschines.
After I installed the Client (either from CD or the Server Share) and started it it tries to perform an upgrade which fails with the following errormessage:
"An error has occured while upgrading your application, A full recovery will be performed".
Tried the client installation with local admin rights.
Is there a solution for that?

Yes, you can. Please upgrade your Exchange 2010 SP1 server roles in the following order: Client Access, Hub Transport, Unified Messaging, Mailbox, Edge Transport. What's more, please note that when you install a Service Pack or update rollup on a server
that's a DAG member, several services will be stopped during the installation, including all Exchange services and the Windows Cluster service.

What is the steps for me to upgrade SAPB1 from 2005A PL50 to 2007A PL46?
Is it my below steps?
1. Backup common database
2. Backup production database
3. Removal of B1 2005A completely including the addon, server tools
4. Install B1 2007A including license import
5. Open B1 2007A client and the B1 will ask you to backup before upgrade.
6. Install B1 client

Yes, almost right. Follow the below steps:
1. Backup COMMON database
2. Backup Company database
3. Uninstall SAP Business One 2005 Server Tools, DIAPI, Server
Application, Client Application (If any)
4. Install SAP Business One 2007 Server Tools(approx 5 mins), DIAPI(approx 5 mins),
Server Application(approx 30 mins), Client Application (approx 10 mins)
5. Backup your databases on SQL Server 2005, in order to perform
upgrade
6. Run your SAP Business One 2007 Client Application, to upgrade
database
7. After which, you may continue to patch to your desired Patch Level again and run Client Application to upgrade database again.
Additional information to note down from SBO 2005 before beginning Upgrade
1. Note down User licenses allocation as sometimes user licenses may be unassigned from my experience. Also, check your number of licenses are correct. If not correct, reimport License File again.
2. User Authorization allocation. In SBO, for new functions or functions moved around in main menu, the default access for all user is "No Authorization", we have to allocate access.
3. User Addon allocation
a. Note down the Addons currently used by the company
4. Database login at Client Application, so that you set the same username
and password on new SQL Server Installation.
