Upgrade CRM4.0 to CRM7.0

Hi,
we are planning a CRM upgrade from 4.0 to 7.0 and we are trying to get the picture what it would require. If someone could give some general answers or recommend suitable documentation for the below it would be most appreciated!
1. We use for example a lot of own-developed actions called manually from CRMD_ORDER, the user fills in values on new SAP GUI Dynpros and then we do a CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN so the user can see the result back in CRMD_ORDER before saving. The user interface is IC/Transaction Launcher or SAP GUI. What would be the corresponding way to do it with the 7.0 Web UI (I heard CRMD_ORDER is even obsolete there)?
2. Is 7.0 a lot different from CRM 2007? We have some documentation about upgrade to 2007, is that more or less valid?
3. When is it better to use the Portal functionality and when Web UI?
Etc..
Regards,
Henrik

Hi stephen,
As per my understanding DynPro uses the SAP ASAP methodology to construct all version upgrade project task list.
There are five stages in upgrade process
Project preparation u2013 where we plan for project preparation and hard ware software requirement etc .now  in current business scenario every organization have configuration up to that level
Business blueprint preparation u2013 here we identify the technical object abs strategy to upgrade ,this is
mainly a planning phase where we develop a blueprint how to upgrade
Relaization u2013 here we perform technical upgrade ,archiving the data ,perform testing ,upgrade dev
system , quality system etc
Final preparation u2013 here we plan for end user training  and production system backup etc
Go Live and support phase.here we plan production system upgrade finally
resiezing is necessary for any upgrade project its a initial task which we perform.I am also seeking any documentation on this you said that we have some please <email removed by moderator>

  • Activity Monitor: activites created before upgrade not displayed

    Hi experts,
After upgrade from CRM4 to CRM7, the activity monitor (tcode S_AE2_89000019) is not working proprely. After several tests and analysis, we came to the conclusion that the logical database CRMLDB_ACT_MON used by the SAP Query of the Activity monitor is not fetching all results.
It seems that activities created after upgrade are well fetched. Old activities are not fetched
Has someone experimented the same problem?
Is there a specific action to perform on logical databases after upgrade?
Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Manfred,
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately we haven't upgraded to Web UI yet..
I found the solution, I'm posting it just in case someone else is facing the same problem: CRMD_ORDER_INDEX is a table that consolidate orders data in order to make reports faster in CRM. This table is not updated after Upgrade, you need to run the program CRM_INDEX_REBUILD to have this table updated.
Many reports us this table. This report update data in new and obsolete tables as well (BUT021 and BUT021_FS)

  • How to use SM7.0 to support an upgrade?

We have several upgrades for ECC5.0->ECC6.0, CRM4.0 ->CRM7.0, etc.
We have heard that SM7.0 can support the upgrade but do not know how.
Would you please share your experience? Blogs and links are highly appreciated.
    Best regards!

    Hi Linda,
Please check the below blog to find the details about creating a project. Select Upgrade project as your project type.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417700)ID0726686550DB00233069886735880120End?blog=/pub/wlg/7317
This is not mandatory for doing any upgrade. You can always restrict the use of your solman for the creating key and maintenance optimizer function only.

  • Classic BADi not being called

Hello Experts... Your kind and expert advice is deeply appreciated...
We had implemented a BADi in CRM4.0 and that is being called and working alright.
We are now upgrading CRM4.0 to CRM7.0. With this change classic BADis is not being called.
Difference I noticed in calling program is that in CRM 4.0 BADIs were pulled/instantiated by factory method. However in CRM 7.0 it uses "GET BADI" command. But since "GET BADI" does not fetch implemented BADi, it throws BADI not found exception.
    - I searched and learnt that "Get BADI" can fetch classic BADIs and there is no need to migrate classic BADIs to new BADIs ...(if I am not wrong)..
    - Also that I re-activated classic BADi in CRM 7.0 but still "Get BADI" does not pulled/instantiate BADi.
    - Also I search to have report "ENH_BADI_ADD_MIGR_INFO" run to create link between Classic and new BADi. Will this work?
Kindly advice to call classic BADi in CRM 7.0? Appreciate it. Thanks!
    Warm Regards,
    Kalpit

    Hi,
Check if this BADI is migrated to enhancement spot (In attributes TAB). If yes, you need create an enhancement implementation for
    this BADI.
    Thanks,

  • ISA - Display subTotal1 - 6 of IPC in jsp page

    Please help.
I am trying to display on the order.jsp the IPC objects subTotal1 through 6. I can see how to display the objects like netValue or TaxValue but I would like to also add some new lines in and display subTotal 1 through 6. I would like to to this at header level and item level.
Can somebody tell how this is possable.
    Many thanks

    Steven,
I hope your still around, because I think maybe you can help us.  We are upgrading CRM4.0 to CRM5.0.  So, ISA and IPC code needs to be looked at and altered.
I'm not the person working on this, but trying to help out.     In 4.0 there's code in order.jsp like this
    JspUtil.removeNull(header.getIpcHost()) %>',
                                                                                    '<%= JspUtil.removeNull(header.getIpcPort()).trim() %>',
                                                                                    '<%= JspUtil.removeNull(header.getIpcSession()).trim() %>',
                                                                                    '<%= JspUtil.removeNull(header.getIpcDocumentId().getIdAsString()) %>',
The developer is saying getIpcHost no longer exists.  Is there something to replace it?  Is this no longer necessary because the IPC now resides on the same server?
Any help would be greaty appreciated.

You have tried to generate a CDB table. By doing so, the already

  • Can CRM4.0 be directly upgrade to CRM7.0?

    Please help, thanks!

I agree with Markus that you probably want to have SMP access http://service.sap.com if you are planning an upgrade.  If you are an SAP customer or partner then you should contact your local SMP administrator for an account.  The master guides and upgrade guides are very well written and can take care of most of the basic needs.
That whole windows 2008 vs 2003 issue is a nasty one dealing with memory management.  Technically even CRM 2007 customers need to move to windows 2008 due to memory management issues in windows 2003.  That reminds I need to talk to my basis folks about that issue again.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Project plan for upgrading CRM7.0 to EHP3

    Dear Expert,
Currently we are preparing to help customer upgrade their CRM7.0 to EHP3,
and I am thinking the necessary steps for this upgrade project.
What in my mind currently are:
    Basis team upgrade the system
ABAPer help to check the impact caused by upgrade and adopt code if
    necessary
Function consultant to test all the as-is business scenarios to make sure
    everything works fine
Is there anything else we need to do?
Thanks a lot for your suggestions in advance!
    Regards
    Hedy

You should first check PAM whether the OS and DB are supported for the target release. The upgrade guide speaks about the preparation tasks and also about the follow activities for the Middleware. They basically come under the BASIS scope (Technical Upgrade). The best would be build a sandbox by copying the existing production and upgrade the sandbox system first and if it is convincing for the business then upgrade the whole landscape.

  • How to configure interaction center after upgrading to CRM7.0?

    I upgraded a CRM to CRM7.0.
However, the interaction center is not working anymore.  We cannot figure out.
Would you please help with your experience?   Thanks!

    Hi Raghu,
The standard business process for handling complaints in the Interaction Center is defined at the following:

  • Is it possible to upgrade from CRM5.2 to CRM7.0

    Hi all
    i got the following doubt:
SAP CRM2007 is not yet released to customers and CRM5.2 is a ramp-up version.
If a customer stats today a CRM implementation which version could be suggested to implement?
CRM5.0 and then upgrade to CRM2007?
CRM52 and then upgrade to CRM2007?
Which one of the above mentioned options could be technically feasible?
    Thanks and regards
    C*

    Hi Carmine,
The upgrade path is available from CRM 5.0 to CRM 2007 as well CRM 5.2 to CRM 2007.SAP says the from CRM 5.2 migration have to be done to CRM 2007.
Currently only CRM 5.0 is available for the customers. CRM 5.2 and CRM 2007 are just the ramp up version which will be available for the Ramp up partners.
The ramp up version of CRM 2007 will be released on 14 Dec.
For a customer an imnplentation now can be suggested for CRM 2007, which will be available by Dec 14, there are around 150 seats available.SInce the latest vesion is more easy to use and user frndly as compared with CRM 5.0 It is completely Web based, using the IC Webclient framwqrk.
    Wish the information is useful.

  • ECC6 Upgrade and EHP 4 because of a CRM7 in the landscape?

    Hi,
I am in the way to upgrade my SAP 4.6c system to ECC6.
In my overall landscape, I have a CRM 7 installed.
Do you believe I need to perform a simple ECC6 upgrade or a ECC6 upgrade including EHP4 SR1?
In other words, is it mandatory to go through the Upgrade + EhP4 because I have a CRM 7 around?
    Thank you,
    Chris

    Hi,
according to my view upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ERP 6.0 EHP4 is easy because you can save your time in all preparation task that you to carry before starting upgrade as EHP upgrade itself takes time for preaprtion task....
also, you can reduce the downtime of your production environment if you will directly go to ERP EHP4..
As EHP4 takes significant downtime to upgrade the system ( also depends on hardware and database size)...
Also, you can reduce probablity of error free upgrade by carrying out one upgrade instead of carrrying out 2 upgrade (from SAP 4.6c to ERP6.0 then ERP6.0 to EHP4)...
    Hope it clears to you...
    Thanks
    Sunny
