Upgrade CS3 Education edition to CS5 Web edition

Is there any issue with upgrading CS3 Education edition to the new CS5 Web edition? I would just purchase the CS3 to CS5 upgrade?

There is no CS3 Education edition.
You have a regular CS3 suite (standard, premium, master, web, etc) which can be upgraded to a new CS5 suite... you just paid the educational price for CS3.
The CS5 product pages on adobe.com show upgrade pricing for whichever CS3 suite you have.

I need to get Adobe Dreamweaver for some web work. Rather than spend $399 for DW, I thought I would spend $599 for the upgrade from CS4 Production Premium to CS5 Web Premium... These suites hace a several programs in common but the thing is, I still need to use Encore and the Media Encoder that only exist in Production Premium. After I install the CS5 Web Premium, will I be able to still use (officially or un-officially) a few of my CS4 Production Premium applications on the same system?

Upgrading from CS4 design to CS5 web

I have the CS4 design premium suite. Does anyone know if I can purchase the CS5 web premium upgrade as is, or do I have to purchase full versions of the missing components of the web suite before I purchase the web premium upgrade? If someone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

You can, but why do you want to? What will you find in the Web suite that's missing from Design. Answer: Flash Builder and Contribute.

Serial number issue for Acrobat in CS3 Web premium education edition.

Hi everybody. If anyone can help me on this issue, I would really appreciate it. So far, customer support hasn't been very useful. So here is the issue.
I bought CS3 Web Premium for my 2.16ghz macbook and it was purchased through apple. Anyway, it came with the main disc to install all the applications of cs3 and another disc to install acrobat 9. The way an education edition works is that I don't receive an actual serial number. I receive a product number which I have to enter, along with my info and proof of eligibility on this website called myidentit-e.com When this was all said and done, I received an email that contained a serial number. This serial number worked on all of the regular cs3 applications but not on acrobat 9. There was no other product code included and the directions inside the case said that I should be able to use the same serial number for both the regular cs3 and acrobat 9. Customer service's suggestion was to call apple since I bought it from them but what would they know about that? Adobe seals the products and I'm assuming that Apple is only a reseller.
Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

We've also had this problem. It looks like neither Adobe, My Identit-e nor Adobe will take responsibility for fixing this. All CS3 programs work except for Acrobat, which won't accept the serial number.
Support requests to adobe have resulted in our request simply being "closed" without any actual response from the company.
Has anyone had any luck with obtaining help from any of these companies? Any advice is appreciated.

Upgrading from student editions to CS5 ?

I currently have a student edition of Dreamweaver MX, Flash MX, and Illustrator 10. I would like to upgrade these to the Adobe CS5 professional versions, but I am not sure if I can since they are so old. Or can I upgrade these to the Adobe CS5 Design package?

Unfortunately, that won't work. All MX versions (student, full retail etc) are too old to qualify for an upgrade.
Adobe has a "3-versions-back" policy for upgrading these days.
So the only versions eligible for an upgrade to CS5 are DW8, CS3 and CS4.

I have a 22-space alphanumeric product code for my Adobe creative suite 5.5 web premium package.
It does not have the 24-space alphanumeric code that is the product code sequence asked for when signing up for adobe procuct code approval. Adobe keeps asking for a correct code and I only have the one they gave me in the package, called a product code, but adobe keeps rejecting it.
Also, the program never loads correctly - it says this at the end of the 45-minute loading from the disc. That is getting awfully tiresome as well. I have everything closed as they request, and do not know how to turn off the virus protection which is windows defender.
Also, mine is a new teacher edition, and when I go to the page for getting my approval, it will not open that page. I have used Adobe products before with typical annoying hassle but always eventual success. So this really is perturbing.

I'm trying to install CS5 education edition on my new iMac running Yosemite v10.10.1. I do not have a disc drive.
Although there is a "download CS5 products" section on this site, I can't seem to locate the download for the education edition. Is there another one I should be installing instead? Or should I just cough up the $30 for a USB disc drive and do it the old fashioned way?

Features and functions are identical.
Differences are pricing (obviously) and some minor licensing conditions (e.g. eligibility, can only buy one copy per platform per year, not for resale, cannot upgrade to another Educational version though upgrading to retail version is OK)

How do I upgrade to CC from CS6 education edition?

So I am no longer a student, and in the past, I have purchase CS4, CS5 and CS6, but all have been the education edition. I wish to upgrade to the full version of the CC and would like to take advantage of the "Special for CS Customers" price of AU$29.99 per month. However, when I input the serial number for my CS6, I am told that I am not eligible for this discount. Can someone tell me why?

Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium Education Edition

I was given an uninstalled Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium Education Edition by a guy who purchased the wrong product. He purchased a PC version but he has a Mac. He was unable to install it and unable to return it because the package was opened. He did however get a little way into the www.adobe.com/go/edu-validate system. He apparently got far enough into that process to enter the temporary product code and connect it to his email address. When I enter the product code, it asks me for the original email address. I don't have the guy's contact info. Is there any way to reset this so I can install the product?

Chances are it will be up to this guy to manage any reset. It will probably require transfering the license to you formally.

Problem purchasing CS5 Design Premium Educational Edition

Hi all,
I want to purchase the CS5 Design Premium Educational edition.
I live/work in Singapore and am attending distance learning at the New York Institute of Photography. While my classmates are enjoying the benefits of using CS5 with student discount, I am stuck using GIMP, which while good, does not offer the same functionality or stability as Photoshop.
The reason Adobe customer services give is that it's because I live in Singapore but my educational credentials are from USA. These need to match for the purchase to proceed.
Surely this should not matter? Does anyone know of any way I can make this happen?

This forum is not officially monitored by Adobe. It is a user-to-user forum. As such, the answers you get are primarily speculation and not authoritative when it comes to sales and licensing issues. My recommendation would be to call Adobe Customer Support and ask to speak with a supervisor. Explain the situation that although you are resident in Singapore, you are part of a distance learning, internet-based course based in New York with the New York Institute of Photography. If the supervisor cannot assist you, ask to be connected to a manager. Eventually, you should be able to talk with someone who understands your situation and can resolve the issues.

I received a serial number for my Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended education edition, but I get the message: this serial number is not valid for this product.
Apparently it's not possible to send an email to Adobe NL, so I hope someone can help me out.

yes.

there's no "upgrade education" edition. all edu editions are full versions (standard or extended). they're usually priced around the same or cheaper than a standard upgrade.
