Upgrade DMS 5.2.2. to 5.2.3

Is it necessary to associate the DMM and SNS with an LDAP server?  What else do I need?
I have hardware support for I have a UCS210. Do I have to set something else before migration?
Thanks in advance
Aurelio

Hi Aurelio,
Absolutely it is not necessary to use an LDAP server for authentication in DMS 5.2.3 release. It is optional as it was in DMS 5.2.2.
However, there is an important authentication change in DMS 5.2.3 release in comparison to 5.2.2. In DMS 5.2.2 and previous releases, DMM authentication and Show and  Share authentication are two separate steps. If a user is logged in DMM,  and connects to Show and Share, he needs to login separately on the  Show and Share as well.
This has been changed in DMS 5.2.3. Starting from this release, the DMM always perform authentication also on behalf of the Show and Share. When you try to login to the Show and Share, you will be redirected to the DMM for authentication. A cookie is set by the DMM for any user login session. One advantage of this is that if you are already logged in to the DMM, you won't need to login to the Show and Share again when you move to it. One restriction of this is that DMM and Show and Share MUST be part of the same domain in order for this to work properly (for example, "mydmm.cisco.com" and "mysns.cisco.com").
I just wanted to make sure you were aware of these changes.
Regards,
Marco

  • DMS VP upgrade problem

    Hello pros,
I've got the following strange behaviour while upgrading the vp from 5.0.2 to 5.1 or even to 5.0.3
I'm following the guide's instruction to upgrade the appliance from the AAI.
On first step,i'm being asked if i want to upgrade from 5.0.2 to 5.1 and i choose YES.Then it starts copying files from the cd and finally rebooting by it's self without giving me any option or message. Then, the vp starts booting up as if no upgrade had taken place earlier. So, i tried upgrade to 5.0.3 and then to 5.1 but i ve got the same behaviour. Any highlights here? Thank you pros

    Hello,
I just want to clarify something first.
Currently, there is NOT a supported upgrade path from
DMM or VP version 5.0.3 to 5.1. This will always fail.
Cisco is currently working on this upgrade path and hopefully an upgrade image for 5.0.3 to 5.1 will be made available in the near future.
As for the 5.0.2 version to 5.1, This upgrade path is supported. After the VP boots back up, did you access the AAI to verify the version that is displayed?

  • DMS 5.0 DMP Firmware Upgrade

I'm trying to use DMM 5.0.2 to push a DMP firmware upgrade from the server. I have done it before, but for some reason now when I go to create the "firmware upgrade" job I can't check the image on the list of "Available Assets". The checkbox just physically doesn't work. I have tried a couple of different browsers, to make sure it wasn't something browser-specific.
Anybody else seen this one? Is it just me?
    Thanks!
    Mike

I have the same issue.  I have a DMM running 5.2.1, and I just installed a new DMP, out of the box with 5.1.  So I tried the same thing.... First I went to DMP - Adv Tasks - Sys tasks, & created a new app for the firmware update, but it will not let me check the new firmware file that is sitting in the assets.  I am new, and previously a firmware update had been done, and there is an App sitting there for the 5.2.1 update, but when I "edit" the application, it also shows no check in the box for the appropriate file.  I don't know what to do at this point... will have to put a TAC case in.  Let me know if you find the answer.

  • Document in DMS can not be printed using FM CVAPI_DOC_VIEW

    Hi Experts,
We've been using FM CVAPI_DOC_VIEW in the program to get the document in DMS and set value of import parameter 'PF_APPTP' to 3 to make the document to be printed.
But after our system upgraded to ECC6.0, the document could not be printed, only displayed in the screen.
Could you please tell me anything has changed to cause the issue?
    Thanks for your time.
    Anna

    I already found the reason.
    Thanks

  • WSM Managed server starts in ADMIN Mode after upgrade to 11.1.1.7

We have just upgraded our 11g SOA Cluster environment from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.7. The issue is after the upgrade, our WSM servers are starting to ADMIN state with following error.
    <Sep 25, 2013 7:14:35 AM PDT> <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149205> <Failed to initialize the application 'DMS Application [Version=11.1.1.1.0]' due to error weblogic.application.ModuleException: Failed to load webapp: 'dms.war'.

Our cluster environment has one Admin Server, and two of each OSB, WSM and SOA managed servers. As our WSM servers are not coming up, we are not able to start our SOA servers too.
    Thank You

Same issue here :-)), Just playing around with policies configuration, the server was running just fine, I wanted to check if the policies are applicable during runtime even the WSM managed server is down. After restart, it started in ADMIN mode, well the solution is straight. It is exactly telling that the dms application is missing the jstl library reference

So search for "jstl" within the weblogic console in search bar, it is type of library, click on it and target it to the managed server where OWSM is running as weel. It was root cause in my case, somehow the library was not targeted to our WLS_WMS1 managed server. Now the server is back in RUNNING mode. Of course apply this in case of problem with SOA servers, target it to the cluster or exact nodes and it should work.
Still I don't know how the issue has been crated, I don't think that somebody removed it from deployment. Rather I think that somebody was applying patch or some artifacts to OSB or SOA managed server and this library was required as well, but as soon as we have separated WSM cluster, it was maybe assuming that it is running within OSB or SOA clusters and therefore didn't target the WSM cluster automatically. But this is just the idea :-))

For many users, the Folder Action Dispatcher is the culprit that eats almost all available memory if it is enabled on ~/Library/LaunchAgents.

  • One more slower MacBook Pro after Yosemite upgrade

    Hello,
I noticed on queries like that of GreenVal1984 that it helps to have a EtreCheck report pasted.  Because my MacBookPro - especially Apple Mail, iCal, and Spotlight within the Finder - has slowed down since I have upgraded to Yosemite, here is the system report.  I ran AdwareMedic and got nothing, but not sure what "mds stores" is which may be using energy. Any way you can help me declutter the energy use or find what is slowing it will be most appreciated!
    Problem description:
Since installing Yosemite, my MacBook Pro has significantly slowed down, especially Apple Mail.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

After upgrading the new operating system on my Droid Razr M it seems some useful features no longer work such as when typing a message the text anticipates the next word and when trying to delete individual messages from a contact, you can no longer tap and hold to select multiple message you have to delete them individually or the entire thread. Is there a way to get these back?

Well, that's kind of embarrassing. And I honestly thought I paid attention to that... It works perfectly now, thank you so much!
As expected, cdm-git also works fine since DMs only work in the root mode as of now.
Just for the record, both type commands output "/usr/bin/startx" and pacman -Q gives "systemd 215-4".

    Thanks,
    Mohammad

    Hi Mohammad,
You are right, this error seems to indicate that the script environment cannot find the required java classes.
    Please try the following:
    1. Open a shell (command prompt) on the computer on which you created the domain.
    2. Change to the directory in which you located the domain.
By default, this directory is BEA_HOME\user_projects\domains\domain_name, where BEA_HOME is the top-level installation directory of Oracle WebLogic products.
    3. Set up your environment by running one of the following scripts:
    bin\setDomainEnv.cmd (Windows)
    bin/setDomainEnv.sh (UNIX)
On Windows, you can use a shortcut on the Start menu to set your environment variables and invoke WLST (ToolsWebLogic Scripting Tool).
    4. Invoke WLST by entering: java weblogic.WLST
    The WLST prompt appears.
    wls:/(offline)>
    5. Then you can start the AdminServer with WLST
    startServer('AdminServer','ClassicDomain','t3://localhost:7001','weblogic','password','/home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/ClassicDomain')
This link may also help: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/config_scripting/manage_servers.html#wp1009240
    Hope your issue gets resolved.
    Thanks,
    Cris

  • CI have a macbook 2.1 with 1GB of memory.  What are my options for adding memory s I can upgrade to Lion?  (I am running 10.5.8 now) and to icloud. I ve never been able to backup to idisk because of lack of memory also.

I have a macbook 2.1 with 1GB of memory.  I have two issues- both related to lack of sufficient memory.  Issue#1 is upgrade to LION requires more memory than I have and I d  like to upgrade.  Issue 2 is that when ever i try to backup to idisk  I get a message telling me I need to remove some files from my start up disk to make room.   I don t know what I can remove without creating problems.  So  I think I need to add memory.  Is this possible?

These are good online stores for Mac compatible RAM
OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/ - Similar to DMS, they offer Mac tested RAM at very good prices.
Crucial Memory http://www.crucial.com/ - good place to buy RAM from all over the world. They also have an excellent memory selector that allows you to choose memory based on your computer's model
Data Memory Systems http://www.datamemorysystems.com/apple-memory.asp - another good, cheap place to buying RAM if you live in the U.S.
Macdimms.com - Specializes in supplying Mac compatible RAM at extremely competitive prices. Brands featured include Crucial, Samsung, Hynix, and Micron. All brands carry a lifetime warranty. Discounts offered to educational institutions and students, active and retired military, resellers, and government agencies.
Here are instructions on replacing RAM in a MacBook with a removable battery. http://homeoffice.consumerelectronicsnet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=44404
If you don’t have the tools to open up the MacBook OWC has a set for $5
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/TOOLKITMHD/
You can put two 2gb RAM sticks in your model 2,1 but it can only use 3,3gb. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_GB_barrier
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/faq/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-3-g b-memory-limitation-details.html
OWC tests have found that there is a slight speed increase with having two 2gb sticks in rather than one 1gb and one 2gb. Your model is in the gray lines at the bottom of the graph. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Memory_Benchmark/Apple_MacBook/
You can upgrade to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 will run under10.6. You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
To upgrade your iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 as long as you have at least1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store if you have at least a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Install HRCS 9.0 R5 with Linux Issue: upgrade Database HRCS 9.0 from PT8.52 to PT8.53

    Folks,
Hello. I have been installing HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 with PeopleTools8.53. Server machine is Oracle Linux 5.10 and client machine is Windows XP.  My internet architecture is WebLogic11g/Tuxedo11g/OracleDatabase 11gR1. Peopletools 8.53 runs correctly in browser.
In Oracle Linux 5.10 Database Server machine, I run the scripts "createdb10.sql, utlspace.sql, hrcddl.sql, dbowner.sql, psroles.sql, psadmin.sql and connect.sql" one by one. Then I use Data Mover to load data from Windows XP into Oracle Linux 5.10 DB instance HRCS90. The Data Mover script hrcs90ora.dms completes successfully in Windows XP. Configuration Manager is set up correctly.  But when I login into Application Designer, I cannot login and get the message as below:
"Security Table Manager (Get): The database is at release 8.52.  The PeopleTools being run require databases at release 8.53."
I have been following the document http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37306_02/psft/acrobat/PeopleTools-8.53-Upgrade_02-2013.pdf to upgrade HCM and Human Resources 9.0 Revision 5 Database Instance HRCS90 in Oracle Database Server with Linux. I have been following chapter 4 task by task to do. Actually, I have run 4 scripts into HRCS90 as below:
Task 4-3-5: run rel853.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-3-6: run grant.sql at SQL> in Linux.
Task 4-5-3: run ddlora.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Task 4-6: run msgtlsupg.dms in Windows XP Data Mover into HRCS90.
Then need to run Task 4-7 to copy project ppltls84cur Project in Application Designer. When login into Application Designer with Database HRCS90 and UserID and pwd PS, I get the same error message as below:
"The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require Database at release 8.53."
Application Designer is supposed to login by Task 4-7 to copy projects but it cannot. I have tried to fing out what's wrong as below:
In task 4-1-3: I cannot run script dbtsfix.sqr in Linux and Windows XP.
In task 4-1-9: script ptupgibdel.sql does not have the string "End of PT8.53". There is no script ptupgibdel853.sql to run.
In task 4-3-6: when run script grant.sql, table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL don't exist. There is only PSOPRDEFN table.
I continue to do task by task in chapter 4 until task 4-27 that's the end, but Application Designer still cannot login. All of Application Engine Programs and SQR Programs cannot run.
    My questions are:
First, does Oracle Database HRCS90 has table PSOPRDEFN only without table PSSTATUS and PSACCESSPRFL ?
Second, what's the error by task 4-7 when Application Designer still cannot login ?
Third, why Application Designer still cannot login a the end of doing chapter 4 task 4-27 ? How to solve the issue ?
    Thanks.
    Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you are missing, but it looks like you missed a script which could cause problems.  You need to look through your logs for errors. Are you running rel853 as the AccessID user?  I don't know how you would trash PSSTATUS in this process.
    You don't mention running this.
    Task 4-3-2:  Creating Tablespaces
This step runs the PTDDLUPG script, which builds new tablespaces as part of the upgrade to the new PeopleSoft release.
It creates tablespace PSIMAGE2, which doesn't exist in the datamover load you did.  Oracle moves and puts around 208 tables here when you run rel853 from what I see.
The first line of rel853 is
    UPDATE PSSTATUS SET TOOLSREL='8.53',
                      LASTREFRESHDTTM = SYSDATE
This is what changes the tools release, sometimes people just run this one update to gain quick and dirty access to a different version.
I pulled this download and ran through it myself without incident doing all the steps you say, adding in 4-3-2 which you seemed to have skipped.  I built a system database.
    My hcengs.log shows
    Importing  PSSTATUS
    Creating Table  PSSTATUS
    Import  PSSTATUS  1
    Building required indexes for PSSTATUS
    Updating statistics for PSSTATUS
    Records remaining: 7686
    After import, PSSTATUS is
    SQL> select toolsrel from sysadm.psstatus;
    TOOLSREL
    8.52
    After running rel853n it's now
    SQL> COMMIT
      2  ;
    Commit complete.
    SQL> SPOOL OFF
    SQL> select toolsrel from sysadm.psstatus;
    TOOLSREL
    8.53
I ran the other 3 quick scripts.  Not sure if it was necessary, but I reset the passwords and re-encrypted them with the new 8.53 datamover for the new salted encryption and fired up app designer.  It works.  By the way, you should probably run rel853n, it utilizes "newer" (for PeopleSoft that is) data-types than just rel853.sql that were delivered with the 9.0 application line.  Since this is a new 9.0 based app build it should be used.
