Upgrade dreamweaver 2 to dreamweaver 8?

Hello folks,
I have lying around a copy of Dreamweaver 2, have obviously
not done a thing for quite some time :-)
Now i'm interested in doing some webdesign again and would
like to upgrade to Dreamweaver 8, mostly because of the improved
CSS handling.
Can i buy the DW8 upgrade, or is my version too old to
upgrade??
Best regards
jj

Oh. Thanks.

My sites have usually migrated automatically whenever I have upgraded. Others report the same outcome as you.
I've never traced the reasons for non-migration to a single root cause.

  • Can I upgrade Dreamweaver 4 to the new cs4?

Can I upgrade my dreamweaver 4 to the design suite that
    includes dreamweaver cs4??
I couldnt find any info anywhere else. and the contact

No. You can only upgrade to Creative Suite CS4 from
    Dreamweaver MX 2004, 8,
    CS3 or CS4.
Your Dreamweaver 4 (circa Dec 2000) is two versions earlier
    than MX 2004.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Dreamweaver#Version_history
With DW4, you will have to pay for the full version of the
    CS4 suite.

  • Serial Number Prob after upgrading Dreamweaver 8.0 to Studio 8

I've just upgraded my Dreamweaver 8.0 to Studio 8.0 to get
full versions of Flash and Fireworks. When I try and activate my
Flash (or Fireworks) it asks for an Upgrade serial number after I
put in the new serial number supplied for all the Studio 8
products. The only serial number I have is the Dreamweaver 8.0 one
which is what I upgraded from and putting this in doesnt help.
    Where am I going wrong?

I've reported it to Customer Support but because of the
Easter holiday I doubt I'll get a reply for a few days. I really
need access to Flash now and would appreciate any advice anyone
    has.

  • Upgrading Dreamweaver and Indesign to newer versions

I currrently have Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 on Windows XP. I am purchasing a windows 7 pro 64-bit computer and would like to upgrade to  CC or CS6. Will the files that I have created in these previous (old) versions be able to be opened on the newer versions? If not what do I do?? Any help is appreciated!

Code is code.  You can work with your old HTML & CSS files in CS6 or CC.   Simply tell DW (latest version) where to find them on your hard drive.   Site > New Site.
NOTE:  DW CC uses different Extension files.  Older MXP Extensions will need to be converted to ZXP files.

  • Upgrade  Dreamweaver 8 Educational Version to Dreamweaver CS3

    Hello,
    I have two questions:
    1. I currently have Dreamweaver 8 EDUCATIONAL VERSION; I need
to upgrade to CS3 EDUCATIONAL VERSION. Is it possible to upgrade
educational software or should I just buy CS3?
    2. If I do buy CS3, will I have to uninstall Dreamweaver 8 (
I currently have Studio 8 and Web Bundle 2)
    Thank YOU!!!!

for a correct answer, you'll have to check with the people at
    the adobe
online store customer service or with an authorized academic
    outlet.

    > 2. If I do buy CS3, will I have to uninstall Dreamweaver

You won't have to uninstall- the new software will go into a
    different
folder and won't interfere or overwrite anything from the
    previous version.
You can still use the prior version, but if on windows you
    can't run it at
the same time you have cs3 open. You can manually uninstall
    it or parts of
it if you wish to save HD space.

  • Can I upgrade dreamweaver cs4 to cs6

    Can my Dreamweaver
cs4 be upgraded to Dreamweaver cs6

You do qualify for 40% off your first year subscription price as a prior owner of the Creative Suite...
Creative Cloud free trial & plans : Adobe Creative Cloud
DWCS6 was available as a stand alone one time purchase for $299 USD and slightly less for DWCS5.5 owners, but it looks like they no longer offer it, all references to it have been scrubbed from the online store within the last week.

  • Dreamweaver/MAMP Upgrade on Mac (Lion)

This is a pretty broad question(s). I've been working on a MacBook Pro running on Leopard for 6 1/2 years. I used Dreamweaver and MAMP but very seldom upgraded them.
I've finally upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Lion and want to get up to speed on Dreamweaver, MAMP, PHP, MySQL, etc. After five years+, I have a few hoops to jump through.
Anyway, I'd appreciate any general advice anyone can offer regarding installing and setting up Dreamweaver and/or MAMP on a Mac running Lion. It would also be great if you could point me to some good online tutorials. (I've been searching for tutorials with Google but haven't found much good information yet.)
I should note that I'm using Adobe Creative Suite 3. I can't afford to upgrade to CS5.5, so I'm thinking of upgrading Dreamweaver only.
    Two specific questions...
    1) What should I name the folder that contains my websites, and where should I put it? My older laptop has a default folder named Sites at the following location...
    Users > (user) > Sites
However, Lion doesn't have such a folder. Does MAMP install with everything pointing to a default websites folder, or will it give me an option of designating such a folder?
    2) If MAMP gives me the option of choosing a particular version, which versions of PHP, MySQL and Apache do you recommend I work with?
    Thanks for any tips.

To your first question.  Yes it is possible to run multiple copies of Adobe programs.  Only thing you can't do is run 2 versions of the same application simultaneously (eg: DW CS3 and CS5.5 at the same time).
The only details on Creative Cloud released so far are:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/adobe-creative-cloud-and-adobe-creative-suite -new-choices-for-customers.html
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.html
https://creative.adobe.com/ - This is the address for storage, currently the only product working although Muse and Edge are supposed to be figured into the Cloud as well.
The only announced pricing is ~$50/month for the Suite, whatever that may be.  No further details yet other than "it's coming".  They've been sparse on details, but after getting many responses including a long letter from the NAPP president we can only speculate as to what is going on http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2011/archives/22903 .

  • Can I upgrade only dreamweaver from creative suite 5.5

I own Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. I am not in the graphics or web publishing business, so it more of a hobby and our business website. Can I only upgrade Dreamweaver to the newest version?

Dreamweaver 5.5 is fine. If it is your hobby, there is no need to upgrade. It works as well today as it did before the release of CS6. However, I might mention that the Creative Cloud is a real bargin at this point. I know many people who spend more on their coffee.

  • Dreamweaver 2004 Upgrade needed?

I have been happily using Dreamweaver 2004 for a couple of
years, and I am one of those forever beginner types. I have
received lots of help from Murray and others on this forum and I am
still absorbing the basics - or so it seems.
I am about to design a couple of new sites and I am
    wondering:
Are there any big reasons to upgrade Dreamweaver for someone
such as myself who is only using maybe 5% of the 2004 version's
    features?
Is the new version easier/ more intuitive to use or does it
    simply have more features?

How so? The menus are the same....

  • Dreamweaver CS5 - Welcome Screen shows CS4!

    Hi,
after upgrading Dreamweaver from CS4 to CS5 the welcome screen insists on identifying itself as CS4. What's going on?
    Win7 64bit
All updates installed. I also tried re-installing DW CS5 to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

CS5 does not actually upgrade CS4.  It just installs a new version alongside CS4.  You could try trashing the prefernces located in the application support folder and restarting DW.  However, only way users here would probably know how to get rid of this is to run the Clean Tool to remove the previous versions, up to and including CS5 and then reinstall CS5.

  • Dreamweaver cs 6 Hebrew support

I've just upgraded Dreamweaver from cs5.5 middle eastern version to cs6.
When I open the files I've created with the DW cs5 they look funny, There are black gaps in them.
The Hebrew justification is flipped to the other side. The div seems off in size and position.
when I go to live mode every thing is all right and working fine.
im almost sure its the rendering engine that flips every thing but is the a solution?
    all the best
    hanan

    Hi Hanan,
first, please have a look here:
At http://www.adobe.com/il_he/ I found (thanks Google) some informations, which you will better understand. BUT in my opinion Adobe must support Hebrew language.  If that does not go far enough you should look for  Adobe's support centers. Particularly well I found that Adobe now also offers the chat, here:

As a last resort, I therefore repeat my proposal to send a link.

  • BC Add-on for Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 not working - JS errors?

I upgraded Dreamweaver yesterday to the new CC 2014.1 version, and it seems it's not compatible with the BC add-on (which I removed and reinstalled). It it gives a js error "BCModulePanel" on reSize not defined - the panel loads but doesn't connect to BC so no modules can be inserted.
Anyone else having the same issue... on Macs? Has it been tested?

    Hello,
I've tested the DW 2014.1 with the BC add-on and all worked fine, on both Win7 and MAC OSX 10.9
You might experience some issue related to DW caching, so you could try this:
    - uninstall DW and the BC add-on (https://creative.adobe.com/addons/my_addons )
    - restart Adobe CC app.
    - install DW and the add-on
    - restart Adobe CC app., make sure the BC add-on has been installed
    - restart DW
If you still experience issues after this, repeat the steps above but instead of installing the BC add-on from the CC website, you could try to manually install the BC add-on through Extension Manager app:
    https://creative.adobe.com/addons/patches/4965/install
    I hope this helps.

  • Using Dreamweaver CS5 with other CS4 programs

I want to purchase Dreamweaver CS5 for my work computer because it is the same version I have on my personal computer, and I want the two to be compatible. However, there are other Adobe CS4 programs on my work computer (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.). Will any problems arise by having Dreamweaver CS5 and other CS4 programs on the same computer? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Are you intending to purchase a standalone version of Dreamweaver CS5?
Your work computer has probably got a CS4 Creative Suite installed (Design Premium CS4?).
You won't be able to upgrade Dreamweaver CS4 (from the Suite) on your work computer to standalone Dreamweaver CS5. It's not a valid upgrade path.
Tip: CS6 is due to be released very soon.
    http://store.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/offer/cs55_cs6_faqchannel.html
Although free upgrades from CS5 (purchased after 26 March 2012) are available, there is some paperwork involved. In your position, I personally prefer to wait until CS6 ships - unless CS5 is really the version you want, of course.
