Upgrade enterprise version from cf8 to cf10

Dear All,
I am still running 2 x cf8 enterprise /w clustering function on windows. And i am going to upgrade it to version 10.
It seem no details document on the offical CF website about upgrade topic. Even in the product documents.
So i want to ask :
1.) Do i need change any code from 8 to 10?
2.) From the changed between JRUN to TOMCAT, are there any clustering function differents?

Hi,
Since the Discovery system is an appliance - bundled hardware + software + content, it is not possible to upgrade from v2 to v3.0.
You are free to upgrade your v2.0 system's SAP components by downloading patches and service packs from the SAP Service MarketPlace and applying them to the V2 system if your main intention is to patch the V2 to a higher software release.
The only way to get the Discovery system V3 is to purchase it from one of the vendors and would include hardware , software and content.

I am about to upgrade our Oracle Enterprise Manager OMS from 10.2.0.5 to 11.1. I'm trying to figure out which document to use. I have the SQL Server Plugin installed on our OMS and I'm wondering if this is concidered an add-on. If this is the case I should follow the document: Oracle enterprise manager grid control advanced installation and configuration guide and follow: upgrading enterprise manager grid control with add-ons? Correct?

JAs 12C is also launched , may be you can wait for some time and directly go for 12C. Because in 10.2.0.5 and 11.1 , we don't have much difference functionality wise.

Upgrading ORDS version from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10

Hello ORDS Community,
I am trying to upgrade the ORDS version from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10. The installation instructions tell me to unzip, copy the ords.war file and then configure the setup values. I did that (on Dev1 server), ords was upgraded to 2.0.10 and it works great.
Now I have to do this on about 10 other servers. Is there a way that I can copy the files for ORDS version 2.0.10 (from server Dev1, which I just upgraded in the step above) and push it to all the other servers (for e.g. Dev2)? I copied the files from <Tomcat directory>webapps/ords folder from Dev1 to Dev2. This did not help. The APEX frontend on Dev2 still shows the listener version as 2.0.9.
Can you tell me if there is a way to achieve this?

Hi,
You don't need run whole configuration step if you upgrade.
You can just tell to new war file where is your old config files, move new war to Tomcat webapps folder overwriting old war and restart Tomcat.
Here is how you set configdir:
Lets say your ORDS config files are in /tmp/apex or /tmp/ords folder
Then run
java -jar ords.war configdir /tmp/

Lost sessions after upgrading from CF8 to CF10

We have an internal page that we use to control things on our website. It's sort of like a home-brewed CMS, but it doesn't hold actual content. It just stores details about the pages (page title, contact person, date created, etc) and allows us to show newly added items on a "what's new" page.
To get into the thing, I have a list of authorized users in a database. I compare this list to a function that the server gives us called GetAuthUser()
I basically do a query to find that username in the database and pull out the associated rights, then assign them to session variables. This worked perfectly in CF8, but not in CF10.
Here's the code that worked before:

It's been a while since I tried to browse directories on another system. I think CFFTP might be able to do it.
YUP!! As long as the credentials are good, you can use CFFTP to browse directories on another machine.

Hi All, we have tried to install a new BO version but the process failed. We have several problems : 1. Several folder and files did not get upgraded. The last modified date has not changed. 2. Of the required three services only one is present and running. Present : "WebIntelligence Cluster Service" Not Present "WebIntelligence DTS Manager" and "OLAP Cache Manager" What means? 3. The customer wants to reinstall the Patch but since has been already applied running the .exe the only avaialble options are "Repair, Modify, Remove". Need help Upgrading (Upsell version) from CS1 Premium to CS4 Premium

I just purchased the new IMac (late 2009 version) that comes with Leopard. I also purchased an Upsell of CS4 design premium to update my CS1 Premium. Has anyone done this before? Do I need to first install the original CS1 before upgrading to CS4? I have the serial number for CS1 just not sure if it will install to begin with, since it was created for G5 not the Intel version.
Anyway, what's the difference between an Upsell and an Upgrade? It costs more, but I was told that's what I need. Do they really have different discs inside the box?

Just have the serial number and disk for CS handy. You don't need to install it.
What you have is not technically and upsell. An upsell is from a different product such as Photoshop to Creative Suite. There are two upgrade paths for the suite. From CS/CS2 and from CS3.

How do we upgrade from EHP1 SP5 to EHP2 SP7 ?
Can we do that directly from JSPM or i should go with ehpi ?
Just download all the files of EHP2 SP7 to EPS/in directlry and start JSPM ?
or
Upgrade EHP1 to SP5 then run PREPARE tasks from the DVD's then apply the SP's.

I've upgraded Standalone JAVA stack from EHP1 -> EHP2 and basically, what EHPI did was just call up JSPM and perform the upgrade. Therefore, is feasible to upgrade standalone JAVA system via JSPM, of cos generate XML with MOPZ.

Answer:
Yes. On Java standalone systems it makes more sense using JSPM as a standalone tool using 'support package stack' option instead of running EHPI. Whereas on dual stack (ABAP + Java systems) you have to use EHPI with the exception of Solution Manager systems (see SAP note 1245473 for SolMan EHP installations).

ValueList function error after migrating CF8 to CF10

We are migrating our reports from CF8 to CF10. (uninstalled existing CF8 and installed CF10) in 32bit OS.
After upgradation of CF10, tried to open our report, then we got the below error.

At a guess it may be choking on the underscores in the query name. You could try referencing it like:

Having trouble upgrading latest version of Firefox. Have attempted this several times and still getting message on main page that I do not have latest version. What do I need to do?

The latest version of Firefox is 9.0.1, so it looks like your updates have failed. You can look at the Knowledge Base article [[Updating Firefox]] for some troubleshooting steps. Alternatively, you might just want to try installing a fresh copy of the latest version of Firefox. I would look at the Knowledge Base article [[Backing up your information]] first. That way you'll have a backup of all your bookmarks and person information.
Then you should completely uninstall Firefox and then download a new copy from:
http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/

Duration of upgrading SBO version

Dear Experts,
I am currently considering to upgrade SBO version, from 2004A SP00 PL 41 using SQL server 2000 to 2005A SP01 PL23 using SQL server 2005. I have done cleaning of 2004A version from add/remove program and installing SBO 2005A. Then I restore the 2004A database to SQL server 2005A. I run the SBO GUI/client then the system asks to upgrade version. I click OK and upgrade was started. However it seems never finish because I start to upgrade on 13.46 pm but until now 15.19 pm still not end/finish. there is no error message appears. The database file total is about 5GB. How many hour is the duration of upgrading? was I wrong in the upgrading process ? I appreciate your answer. TIA

Bad performance on CF9 after upgrade from CF8

I'm stuck with a problem after upgrade from CF8 entreprise to CF9 entreprise.
We are using IIS6 on WIN2003R2 (SP2).
There are a lot of "503 Server Error" with no content. (about 0.05% of request). This can be occured on big or small CFM, graphic ressources, etc...
For each error I can see the following error on the connector logs (jrun_iis6_wildcardYYMMDD.log).
2011-01-02 19:00:05 jrISAPI[1456:3940] returning error page for JRun too busy or out of memory
I've never seen this message in previous CF connector version.
And on the jrun log (coldfusion-outXXX.log), I read the following errors:

There is no line about a memory issue!
These errors happening on random request not ALL!! (arround 0.05%), and there is no real link between load and this... Our applications handle a lot of POST download, but like I've described before, error can occured on classic cfm page and static ressource...
What I mean with upgrade CF8 to CF9, is with our 10 other servers running on CF8, I've never see that 503 issue outside a real jrun problem (like a memory crash, restart, etc...)

Server is running on WIN2003R2SP2 32 bits OS (dual Xeon E5506, 4Go RAM). Here is the jvm.config arguments:
