Upgrade ERECRUIT 603 to 604

Hi all,
Is that possible to upgrade ERECRUIT 603 to 604 by using EHPi? I've tried in many ways such as upgrade few important components (SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS, SAP_BW, SAP_BS_FND, WEBCUIF, ERECRUIT 604), only NM701 (SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS, SAP_BW, SAP_BS_FND, WEBCUIF) or only EHP4 (ERECRUIT 604).......but still getting the same error which is as below:
ERROR: Unable to generate addon queue due to missing addons or SPs
(ERECRUIT)
(SAP_BS_FND)
(WEBCUIF)
You need to add the missing SPs or to repeat the current step and change the Add-on selection in phase IS_SELECT.
Any idea?

It is not only not possible to upgrade without Solman, you won't get any correction packages/support packages without having a solution Manager to confirm the download basket. Since April 2007 a Solution Manager is mandatory and no more optional.

We have NW 7.0 with ERECRUIT add-on 603 and we want to upgrade to ERECRUIT 604 SP4 :
Q1 : Does EHP1 for NW 7.0 required by ERECRUIT 604 ?
Q2 : If the answer of Q1 is yes then we will user SAPEhpi to install EHP1 but how we can upgrade the ERECRUIT ad-on ?
According to note 1326576 we can do it with SAPEhpi but it has to be added manually in phase IS-SELECT !
Q3 : Can we use SAINT instead of SAPEhpi to upgrade this add-on ?

EHP1 will be required for all netweaver components in your ECC system like SAP_ABA, SAP_Basis etc. So, if you are doing EHP4 upgrade then you have to upgrade netweaver components to EHP1.

When you will do the EHP4 upgrade, make a solution in MOPZ in solution manager, there select the usage type ERECRUIT there and put all the packages in download directory and stack xml file. Then EHPI installer will read your ERECRUIT package from stack xml file and upgrade it as well.

If your system is 64 bit then you cannot use SAINT to upgrade to EHP4, you have to use EHPI installer only. EHP4 upgrade for 32 bit system can be performed with SAINT.

Upgrading EA-PS 600 to 603 By Using SAINT Error in SAINT DDIC_ACTIVATION

In our Production System We have ECC 6.0 Ehp-4,but for my public sector comp[onent i have EA-PS 600,i need to upgrade it to EA-PS 604, For that i need to upgrade to EA-PS 603 and then EHP-4,First im gng for EA-PS 603 ,by using SAINT Tool im dng this task,but in ddic_activation phase im facing the following problem
The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to resolve
without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Continue in the queue display.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
    -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
    -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
    -   Return code: 0012
    -   Error message: OCS Package SAPK-603DDINEAPS, tp step A, return
        code 0012...

Hi,
why you are upgrading it first to EHP3 and then to EHP4 ?
I will suggest you to directly upgrade it to EHP4, for this you just need to download stack xml file from solution manager and provide that in SAINT transaction so that it will upgrade to component to 604 in one step rather than 603 and then 604.

ECC-DIMP 604 upgrade

Hi exports,
I had alredy upgraded my ECC 6.0 Ready to EHP4, know i am trying to upgrade the component ECC-DIMP using SAINT.
My OS platform is HP-UX IA and DB is Oracle.
In the SAINT queue i had put both ECC-DIMP 603 and 604, along with stack.xml
While import during DDIC_ACTIVATION phase it failed and the log file shows "tp ended with return code 12 ".
I had checked the file system and data base tables, it seems ok.
Recently i had upgrated my kernel to 117, which is the latest one.
Also i had alredy gone through all the below mention notes, and taken action as necessary

Hi,
The problem is solved after applying SAP Note 1476315 - Error in activation protocol for switch framework.
You need to implement the coding corrections of the note to your system and restart import . If the note cannot be
implemented via SNOTE, as most likely the note assistant may be locked . Please ask one of your developers to perform the changes manually via SE80/SE24

Hi,
Delta Upgrade - means installing the different add-on release on the same BASIS release.
ex: If you have add-on ERECRUIT 600 on SAP_BASIS 700 and want to upgrade to ERECRUIT 603 on SAP_BASIS 700, then its called Delta- Upgrade
Supplementary Upgrade - means installing the different add-on release on the different BASIS release.
ex: If you have add-on ERECRUIT 300 on SAP_BASIS 640 and want to upgrade to ERECRUIT 603 on SAP_BASIS 700, then its called Supplementary Upgrade.

Upgrade HR component after EHP4 upgrade

Hello,
Recently we did a upgrade from R/3 4.7x110 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 using CUUC method. For EHP4 in the MOPZ we selected some 5 usage types where HCM self services or Self services (XSS) was not selected. Now after the upgrade we hav SAP_HR in release 600 and level 045 and EA_HR is also in same level.
Right now we are trying to configure MSS and found business functions related to HCM are
missing in the backend system also when we tried to customize the Report launch pad we did not get the tab in SPRO. Can we solve this problem by upgrading SAP_HR and EA_HR to 604 release or we should add all the HCM related Technical usage types into the system to get them activated.
Because as per the link below we are not having the correct version for
SAP_HR and EA_HR.

As per EHP terminology, EHP packages are cumulative so when you will donwload all the packages from MOPZ, it will take care of all dependencies and download the file accordingly. Please check below extract from Technical FAQ guide:
We would like to clarify this without using the term "cumulative", as this term could
potentially be ambiguous:
u2013 You can install EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0 in one step on 64-bit platforms without having
installed EHP3 before.
u2013 Every EHP version includes the content of any previous EHP versions. For example,
you cannot install EHP4 without getting the content of EHP3 and EHP2 as well.
u2013 Technically, SAP has started to deliver EHP software packages as delta packages with
EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0. Thus, your EHP4 installation queue will contain EHP4 and
EHP3 packages if you have not already installed EHP3. However, all these packages
should be installed in one step on 64-bit platforms.

EHP4 upgrade question - ABAP Stack and EA-HR

Hi Experts,
My ABAP stack in the ECC system is at 7.01 SP3.
My EA-HR module is at 600 SP38.
We want to upgrade EA-HR to 604 (EHP4) so that we can benefit from some of the MSS functionality but the question is, what ABAP stack level do I need to be on? Is my current version ok or do I need to upgrade?
Can anyone shed light for me on this matter?

FINBASIS 604 and SEM-BW 604

Dear all,
We are currently using the following components :
SEM-BW 602 SP04
FINBASIS 602 SP04
SAP_BW 700 SP20
We would like to upgrade to
SEM-BW 604 SP05
FINBASIS 604 SP05
Apparently, according the notes I read, we need to be in SAP_BW 701 : can you please confirm that this is a pre-requisite (i-e it is not possible to stay in SAP_BW 700) ?

You are right. For SEM-BW & FINBASIS EhP4 it is necessary to use NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1. And since SAP_BW 701 is a software component of NW 7.0 EhP1, it is essential to upgrade accordingly.
In this regard please also check the SAP Notes 1143022 & 1243791, wherein the information is exhaustive.

We are in SAP_BW release 701 Level 3. We are upgrading SEM-BW component from 604 level 2 to Level 4.
Do SAP_BW has to be upgraded to Level 4 too??
What are the pros and Cons of Upgrading to SEM-BW 604 level 4?

Elements will be adjusted after the upgrade.
As you already on 7.0. so dtp and transformations will be the same. some 7.4 relates functions will be enabled.

SEM-BW 604 and FINBASIS 604

Hi All,
We are upgrading out BW 3.5 system to BW NetWeaver 7.01. Later on we also plan to implement BCS in this system.
I am wondering whether I should upgrade to SEM-BW 604 rather than to SEM-BW 600 ?
Also, should I upgrade to FINBASIS 604 directly rather than FINBASIS 600 ?
What actually FINBASIS do in a BW NetWeaver system ?

Hi Handoko,
SEM-BCS comes from ERP actually and is logically located to ERP (History: EC-CS is a fix part of ERP).
SEM-BCS uses a lot of BW-metholody and techically it is therefore very near to BW.
FINBASIS and SEM-BW are a part of this and always stick together. So, just do a twin-action, never one side.
SAP started to use EHPs (also EPs called - Enhancement Packages) to upgrade their products which are based on ECC.
SEM-BCS also gets its updates via EHPs. The base is 6.00 and every EHP changes the .XX number. So, 6.04 is the 6.00 SEM-BCS with EHP 4. The EHPs include a lot of new functions and the support packages going with that (FINBASIS and SEM-BCS) are very recommended. They include the last status regarding SAP notes.
I would upgrade to 6.04 and get the newsets support package level. But you don't have to use the business functions of EHP4. You can select them seperatly. Check the notes for that, they describe more details.

Stack XML creation for specific package

I want to upgrade my ERP 6.0 EHP4 system's LSOFE 603 to 604 but I received I need a stack.xml for upgrade. Our Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 system is recognising ERP system's SP levels but it is not giving me an upgrade option for LSOFE. I only saw latest SP which was 7 and all other SP's latest levels but not upgrade packages.
How can I create a stack.xml for LSOFE 604?

If you operate a Netweaver system that contains at least one ERP software component (ERECRUIT, SEM-BW, FINBASIS or LSOFE), you must not use a stack XML file created for an SAP ERP system. Instead, you have to use a stack XML file for SAP NetWeaver systems. The EHP4 packages for the ERP software components have to be added manually in phase IS_SELECT.
Generating the Stack XML File
First of all, create a stack XML file for NetWeaver systems. This can be done either via the SAP Service Marketplace or in the Maintenance Optimizer of your SAP Solution Manager.

Installation of Enhancement Package 1 in SAP NetWeaver 7.0

We have install the Enhancement Package 4 in the server ECC 6.0 with EHP3.
But, before we need install the Enhancement Package 1 in SAP NetWeaver 7.0
The actual Kernel is releae 700 level 185.
We download the kernel 701 for Windows 64 unicode with SQL, and we install in the system, when we start sap the part java don't started the process sapcpe.exe "could not be started" .
We have tried with the kernel 15 and 23 of release 701, but this don't ok.
We can connect to the part ABA and JAVA, but the Kernel isn't update, and in the console of sap the process sapcpe.exe is in red with the message could not be started"

Because when we import the packages of ECC 6.0 EPH4, the system return the error:
"OCS package SAPK-701DHINSAPBASIS requires at least Kernel Release 701 with patch number
0000"
And the package SAPK-701DHINSAPBASIS is a prerequisite for import the package with the release 604 (ehp4).
The package that we need import is:

LiveCache for SAP HCM Idocs ECC6EHP4 on windows/mssql

Hello Gurus,
We am trying to process inbound HR Idoc (message type HRMD_A) from a java system and during the process it stucks in error code 51 and error message says - "Unable to establish connection to LiveCache".
Now we dont have any Livecache setup here but we built the system based upon a system copy and i can see some LiveCache system maintained there in tcode DB59 and DBACOCKPIT but we dont have those systems in our landscape as the system copy was from SAP originally.
Now the question is Do we need LiveCache for SAP HR HCM module specifically to proess HR Idocs (inbound only, outbound process works fine).
I read a lot of stufff on live cache technology but i think that is required only for SAP SCM(Supply chain management).
If i need to install livecache what would be the ideal steps, currently my ECC EHP4 system is on windows 2003 server/ MSSQL 2005.
Do i need to install MAXDB along with MSSQL to support livecache as its only supported on MaxDB(correct me if i am wrong).
Any reply will be highly appreciated.

SAP ERP6.0 with EHP5 HR support packages have not updated

Hi All,
We have installed a fresh system with SAP ERP 6.0 with EHP5. When we are checked all the components like SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, etc... all are on EHP5 level. But HR components ( SAP-HR* and EA-HR* ) are having with out EHP ( All are in reliease 600 and level 64 )
Our HCM consultant wants HR EHP5 functionality. My query is that,
1. Can we upgrade HR components alone ( system is having some 80 components regarding SAP-HR* & EA0HR* ).
2. Is it possible to do from SPAM or any other way around ?
3. Is it compulsory to update all 80 components related HR?
What is the better way to update HR ABAP packages.

The 'Central Applications' are EHP5 came with the installation but HR components are not EHP5 only came with 600 release.
- As DatabaseSAP confirmed, only central application components will be at EHP5 and other components need to be upgraded separately.
So, if we want to update HR components only do we need to update through SPAM/SAINT or EHPi tool.
- Please use SAINT/SPAM to upgrade HR components. It's not good idea to upgrade SAP_HR and EA_HR via EHPi tool as runtime is more when compared with SAINT/SPAM. In fact it's lengthy process as you are upgrading only two components.
When we selected EHP5 upgrade through Solution Manager the 'Central Applications' also selected (can not be un select & those are already installed). and there are only HR components 603, 604 and 605 releases are selected automatically but not 601 and 602.
- Though Solman displays central applications components in the list, you can select required components/packages while downloading through download manager. Release 601 and 602 do not exist. Only 603, 604 and 605 are available after release 600.
Note: You need to go through the pre-requisties before upgrading SAP_HR and EA_HR to the latest release. In order to upgrade to latest release, you need to download "Delta Upgrade" package along with others.
Example: You need to download and extract 603 and 604 delta upgrade packages when you are upgrading to 604 from 603.
