Upgrade ERECRUIT to EHP in NW 7.0

Hi,
We have NW 7.0 with ERECRUIT add-on 603 and we want to upgrade to ERECRUIT 604 SP4 :
Q1 : Does EHP1 for NW 7.0 required by ERECRUIT 604 ?
Q2 : If the answer of Q1 is yes then we will user SAPEhpi to install EHP1 but how we can upgrade the  ERECRUIT  ad-on ?
According to note 1326576 we can do it with SAPEhpi  but it has to be added manually in phase IS-SELECT !
Q3 : Can we use SAINT instead of SAPEhpi to upgrade this add-on ?
Thanks,
Chak

Hi,

EHP1 will be required for all netweaver components in your ECC system like SAP_ABA, SAP_Basis etc. So, if you are doing EHP4 upgrade then you have to upgrade netweaver components to EHP1.

When you will do the EHP4 upgrade, make a solution in MOPZ in solution manager, there select the usage type ERECRUIT there and put all the packages in download directory and stack xml file. Then EHPI installer will read your ERECRUIT package from stack xml file and upgrade it as well.

If your system is 64 bit then you cannot use SAINT to upgrade to EHP4, you have to use EHPI installer only. EHP4 upgrade for 32 bit system can be performed with SAINT.

  • Upgrade ERECRUIT 603 to 604

    Hi all,
Is that possible to upgrade ERECRUIT 603 to 604 by using EHPi? I've tried in many ways such as upgrade few important components (SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS, SAP_BW, SAP_BS_FND, WEBCUIF, ERECRUIT 604), only NM701 (SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS, SAP_BW, SAP_BS_FND, WEBCUIF) or only EHP4 (ERECRUIT 604).......but still getting the same error which is as below:
ERROR: Unable to generate addon queue due to missing addons or SPs
    (ERECRUIT)
    (SAP_BS_FND)
    (WEBCUIF)
You need to add the missing SPs or to repeat the current step and change the Add-on selection in phase IS_SELECT.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance
    BR,
    Nancy

    > So which mean it is not possible to upgrade it to NW701 + EHP4 without SOLMAN???
It is not only not possible to upgrade without Solman, you won't get any correction packages/support packages without having a solution Manager to confirm the download basket. Since April 2007 a Solution Manager is mandatory and no more optional.

  • Upgrade Media list Ehp 4 or ECC 6.0 SR3

    Hello All,
We are upgrading to ECC 6.0 with Ehp 4 and have ordered media from SAP. We have received upgrade master, upgrade export of Enhancement package 4 (i.e.) 51036889 and 51036903. Can we proceed with this or should we order for upgrade master and  upgrade export of ECC 6.0 SR3 (i.e.) 51033520 and 51033501?
Also I understood that Ehp 4 can be included with patches during upgrade. Please clarify

  • EHP Upgrade - Trying to understand the concept

Dear experts, this is an effort to understand the concept. I have been doing Basis work for the past 10 years approximately. All along, I have been doing the typical LCP and SP upgrades way back from legacy systems until now (ECC 5.0 / BW 3.5). We have recently upgraded our BW 3.5 to BI 7.01 and also created a dual stack (we never had Java stack before for BW). This is my situation. Below are my questions. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
    1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
    2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
    3. Are there any specific upgrade guides that will guide me in transitioning from the typical SP upgrade methodology to EhP upgrade methodology. Also, I would like to know how did you transition (learning curve) from someone who had been with typical SP upgrade for a long time and how did you adopt yourself to the new path (like what guides did you use, what links did you follow, etc)
NOTE: I have heard the EhP upgrades are similar to release upgrades and I have done handful of release upgrades.
Thank you so much in advance.

    >1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
Yes we do have both option available. Either we can go for SP upgrade or we can go with EHP upgrade.
    >2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
Yes. http://Service.sap.com/erp-ehp is the place where you can get all the infromation and document.

Everything is available on Service marketplace.

  • Kernel Upgrade before EHP?

    Hi folks,
we want to upgrade an ERP6 EHP5 (Kernel 7.21 EXT) to ERP6 EHP7 (Kernel 7.41). Should we do the Kernel Upgrade before the EHP upgrade or is this irrelevant for the upgrade process?
    is there a recommendation?
    Kind regards,
    Tobias Prein

    Hello,
Please use SUM tool to perform the upgrade.
Are you generating an XML file for the same?
If not I would recommend you to generate it.
The XML file ensure all the packages are included in addition to the dependencies.
And the Kernel Switch will also happen automatically.
You might have to setup SSFS connectivity as well.
Let me know in case of any clarifications required.
    Thanks

  • Enhancement Pack Upgrade and Portal Implications

    Hello Everyone,
We are currently on EHP 4 and running EP/Portal 7.00 SP30 and are planning to upgrade to EHP 6.  Is there a need to upgrade EP when upgrading the SAP landscape to EHP 6?
We are treating the EHP 6 upgrade as a technical upgrade.  Thus the existing ESS/MSS functionality that we have will remain as Java Web Dynpros.  We are also not planning on implementing HR Renewal with the upgrade.
    Thank you for the help.
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
You wont be having any issues if the SP Level of you EP/Portal 7.00 is 30.
    Please check the note 1496212.
According to the note if your SP level is less than 18 then you have to upgrade it to 30.
Your ESS/MSS business Packages will remain the same and for HR Renewal you can deploy its latest Businesspackage.
We had a similar situation and now, we have successfully implemented latest ESS (in WebDynpro ABAP) and MSS (MSS ADDON) in our old portal 7.00 SP 27 (Backend Upgraded to ECC6 EHP 6)

  • Moving from EhP 4 to 6

    Hi experts -
We are debating installing EhP 6 this year.  I just have a question I can't find an answer to anywhere and was hoping to throw it out to this group:
We currently have business function X activated with EhP 4.  When we install EhP 6, will we need to do anything other than regression test business function X?  Will it automatically activate any new functionality for business function X included in EhP 6?
    Thanks for the help -
    Abby

    Hi,
If you will upgrade to any EHP then you have to perform regression testing as it is a release upgrade.
As far as already activated business functions are concerned, you need not to do any step for that. As upgrade does not effect any already activated business function.
    Thanks

  • ABAP Webdynpro Rendering issues after ECC Upgrade

    Dear All,
We recently upgraded ECC to EHP 7 (Netweaver 7.4)  but our Portal is still at Netweaver 7.0 EHP2 SP16.
The ABAP Webdynpro iViews in Portal have the following issues. ( We use IE11).
    1. The ABAP Webdynpro Table filtering is not working. When I click the filter button it does nothing.
    2. The cursor in the  Input fields reset back to the first position while typing and create a big mess.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.
    PK

    Hi N_niki
There is no resolution as such.
We had raised a Customer message with SAP and were informed that this was expected as the procedure to execute the reports was changed in ECC when compared to 4.6 (technical changes) and hence this issue shall remain for some queries wherein the old changes need to be brought back using an option in the SAP Query.
Please refer to SAP Note # 723577 which could provide a better explanation for the issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Best upgrade path for ECC 6.0

    Hello,
We've been stuck on the base ECC 6.0 release for quite a while.  There hasn't been management support for the time/resources necessary to implement and test any upgrades.  We also have a lot of local modifications to SAP supplied programs that we're planning on phasing out so that we keep closer to standard.  This is one of the main reasons we haven't been able to upgrade because of the effort involved in changing processes back to standard.  There was also an unwillingness on specific parts of the user base to change their processes.   We're now in a position where business and reporting requirements are going to force a system upgrade.  We also need run a unicode conversion from non-unicode at the same time.
As we're starting the planning process we're unsure of the best path to allow us to implement future upgrades as necessary.  I see that EHP 7 runs on a basis version of Netweaver 7.40.  Is upgrading to an EHP pack for ECC 6 better than upgrading directly to 7.4?  Can the unicode conversion be done at the same time?
I looked over previous discussions in upgrades but haven't found something that seems to match what we're looking to do.
    Thanks.

    Good Day
As you have an ECC 6.0 system then you need to do an EHP update on the system.
The latest is EHP7. EHP 7 is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4 so when you update the system to EHP 7 you will be on NetWeaver 7.4
The most important thing here is that you need to have a supported OS and DB for EHP7 installation. From EHP6 there is a need to have a higher version of OS and DB.
Check PAM for the supported OS and DB combination.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/pam?hash=pvnr%3D01200314690900005013%26pt%3Dt%257CPLTFRM%26ainstnr%3D012003146949000…
Regarding Unicode conversion you may read this.
2033243 - End of non-Unicode Support: Release Details
If you want to do the Unicode conversion then you should follow CUUC.

  • Upgrade process to SAP Solution Manager 7.1

    Hello!
We use SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SPS 26) and plan to upgrade to the new SAP Solution Manager 7.1.
We currently do not have Java Stack there.
    Some questions about Upgrade process
    1) Can a direct Upgrade from SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SPS 26)  to SAP Solution Manager 7.1 be realized?
    2) Should we first install Java Stack and then proceed with the Upgrade or otherwise?
    3) Will Windows 32 Bit and None-Unicode Version of SAP Solution Solution Manager be supported?
It will be great to get some helpful information.
    kind regards

    Hello!
    Trying to answer your question
    1)  As described in note 1244225, there no restriction to upgrade the Solman EHP1 to solman 7.1. Refer to the section:
In case you do not participate in this current Solution Manager 7.1 beta shipment there are no  restrictions for implementing now SP stack 25 and upgrading in the future to an equivilant SP stack of release 7.1."
    2)  The Solman EHP1 must always be a dual stack system, I am not sure,  how you are  running the Solman EHP1 without a Java Stack, you should have one.
    3) I am not sure if there will be a Solman 7.1 32Bit Non-UNICODE version. But,  SAP recommends to run Solution Manager on Unicode (see also customer letter on http://service.sap.com/Unicode).  At solman EHP1 there are some issues when running the system as Non_UNICODE, refer note 1383407.
I am not sure if I could clarify all your doubts.
You may check the following URL:
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    - SAP Components
    - Solution Manager 7.1
As this is a very new software there is few documents in it, but soon you should see a upgrade guide here.

  • OS Migration + EHP7 Upgrade

    Dear Experts,
We are planning to perform the OS migration along with EHP7 upgrade.
Please find the source and target details below.
    Source
    OS: HP-UX 11.23
    DB: Oracle 10
    SAP: R/34.7
    Target
    OS: SUSE Linux 11
    DB: Oracle 11
    SAP: SAP ECC6 EHP7
    Best Approach:
    Option1: Migration -> Upgrade
    Option2: Upgrade -> Migration
Hope both the options need to perform dual upgrade. R/3 4.7 to ECC 6 and then ECC 6 to ECC6 EHP7. Please let me know the best approach to be followed.
    Regards,
    Raja. G

    Hi Raja
    1. Export the R/3 from HP-UX and perform the import in target OS SUSE Linux latest version.
Your source system version very low  SWPM will not support (SAP R3 4.7) you have to perform heterogeneous system copy old method.
    2. Perform Oracle upgrade.
Kindly refer the Prereuestie for Oracle 11g
    1431800 - Oracle 11.2.0: Central Technical Note
    3. Perform the SAP upgrade directly from R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC6 EHP7 in target OS.
You can perform the direct upgrade (Either ECC6 EHP 7 or EHP6) its not problem. and also check the version interoperability with EHP7 for SAP ERP6
1388258 - Version Interoperability within the SAP Business Suite
    1737650 - EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 SP Stacks - Release & Information Note
If possible you can perform this options in the test system before in live enviornment.

  • XSS Upgrade to EhP3 - NWDI track question

    All,
We are Upgrading XSS SP11 Ehp 1 to XSS SP14 Ehp 3.
We have upgraded our ECC system, Portal system, We have deployed the related Business Packages.
So far so fine. Then we come to the toughest part.
    Source code upgrades in NWDI
We created two tracks XSSSP14 and XSS14MOD
XSSSP14 does not have RTS as this will only be used for comparision
    XSS14MOD has runtime sysetm.
Here is my question. For XSS14MOD, ( which will 'finally' have SP11 mods + SP 14) when we create runtime system, DO WE or NOT "disable automatic deployment" in the dev system.
The question is becuase of the following thoughts of mine.
If we do not 'disable automatic deployment', then SP14MOD will overwrite all SP11+MOD with standard SP14 code when we do the initial import to development system when creating the track. Is this alright, ? Please advise.
And can anyone throw light on to their expereinces doing the manual comparisions and any better ways to track and implement changes. This is a hell lot of owork and is a project in itself

    Thanks Shikhil.
FYI ... i am following the cookbook steps
As much as have I closed the message, I would really appreciate if you can let know your experience, any pitfalls that you may have noticed during the upgrade etc
    Thanks Again

  • Using MOPZ to upgrade SRM from 5.0 to 7.0

    Hello to the group,
We are lookinig to upgrade SRM from 5.0 to 7.0 and were looking to MOPZ to calculate all the needed packages. However, when we run MOPZ for SRM we are not seeing the selection that allows us to select upgrades/enhancement packages (all we see is 'maintenance'). Is this normal? Has anyone been able to use MOPZ for this upgrade process?
Note that we have verified our settings in SMSY against SAP's recommendations for using the Maintenance Optimizer.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    J. Haynes

    Hello there,
Please check the Support Package level of the Solution Manager system. It should be at least on SP22.
In https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/solman-mopz it says that upgrade with an EHP install is supported for SRM, so it should offer the upgrade.
Please check the order of activation of these BC sets:
    SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000
    SOLMAN40_MOPZ_001
    SOLMAN40_MOPZ_SP18
If they are activated in the above order, then it is OK. If not, or if any of them is not activated, them activate them in this order.
    Best regards,
