Upgrade financials to 11i

Hi, we are running the finincials on 10.7 NCA and plan on upgrading to 11i. Is it possible to upgrade to 11i with only AP, FA and PO and NOT having the GL module? This is because we already have GL from another application which is our main GL and want to transfer and create journal entries directly to our main GL from AP etc. without having to do it in Oracle GL. I would like to know the impact, issues if any on the other modules by taking this approach. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

    When run rapidwiz,should i install the R12's app to the same dict that the 11i's files locate?
    Sample:
    Before Upgrade the APPL_TOP=/u8/TEST/app/testappl,and the $AD_top=/U8/TEST/app/testappl/ad/11.5.0
    After run rapidwiz,the dict will change to $AD_top=/U8/TEST/app/testappl/ad/12.0.0 automaticly??No need to create the dicts manualy??

  • Upgrading Oracle Financials To 11i

    How long did it take you to Upgrade Oracle Financials (GL,AR,AP,FA & PO)from Rel 10.7 or Rel 11 to Rel 11i?
    null

    Depends upon how vanilla your install is. Assuming you've got sufficient hardware in place the install itself takes a few days (you'll want to run some test migrations to work out the kinks and perfect the process). Once the physical work is done its the testing and validation that takes all the time.

  • Upgrade of oracle 11i database 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8

    Hi ,
    I want upgrade oracle 11i applcation in to r12. for that 1st i need to upgrade my databse 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8 then to 11.1 . iam using OEL5.1 os .IS it possibel to upgrade the database 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8 on OEL5.1 .Kindly help this issue.

    Hi,
    According to the certification matrix, Oracle9i is not certified with OEL5. So, I am not sure how you managed to have 9.2.0.6 installed and running on this OS. There could be a workaround for ignore the OS pre-req. when running OUI, but I would suggest you log a SR to confirm this with Oracle support.
    Since you are upgrading to 9.2.0.8, please refer to (Note: 216550.1 - Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0)) instead of the one referenced in my previous update (same section). Please note that you still need to apply patch 5035661.
    Thanks,

  • Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 upgrade for oracle 11i

    Hi
    Need to upgrade my 11i (11.5.9) apps from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10
    It will also be a 32 bit to 64 bit conversion
    Has anyone done this before. or can specify the any major obstacles.
    Thanks

    Dear Bansi
    I did something similar on HP-UX but you can mainly follow this
    1- Check Certification matrix against Solaris 10
    2- Install 64 bit engine of 9iR2 using 9iR2 CD's without creation of a database
    3- Patch the engine with the same patch level your database on it [9.2.0.3 is standard DB level for 11.5.9 CD's ] If you want to update this level than the existing to be latest [ie 9.2.0.6 check notes and certification matrix] you should do this step after next step
    4- Attach your 11.5.9 database to that engine
    5- Copy configurations files from old engine to the new engine [appsutil]
    6- Copy Applications in similar locations [If migrate to another server using Solaris 10]
    7- If you will change any Application paths or database path consider changing context file and rerun autoconfig

  • Oracle Financials AP 11i tables Vs R12 tables

    Hello,
    I have a package that works in Oracle Apps 11i instance. This package is using 11i tables in its cursors. we are moving this package to r12 and thus this package has to run in r12 using r12 tables. I have heard that a lot of tables have been changed from 11i to r12 in oracle financials. here is the code.
    Some of the tables in the AP that were used in 11i were AP_BANK_ACCOUNTS_ALL, AP_BANK_BRANCHES, AP_CHECKS_ALL,
    AP_INV_SELECTION_CRITERIA_ALL,
    fnd_lookup_values_vl. I need to know their R12 counterparts or the R12 tables that needs to be inserted here.

    I have taken a look at the zip file from that Steven Chen blog, but i guess that does not really help me at the moment i guess. It tells us changes have been made but what needs to be replaced with which tables hasnt been mentioned.
    I have taken a look at the document "Bank Setups in R12 Question [ID 434195.1]" and it provided me this below information. Is it right if i replace the tables on the left with the tables on the right.
    AP_BANK_ACCOUNTS_ALL --> CE_BANK_ACCOUNTS
    AP_BANK_ACCOUNTS_USES_ALL --> CE_BANK_ACCT_USES_ALL
    AP_BANK_BRANCHES --> CE_BANK_BRANCHES_VCorrect - pl see this MOS Doc

    AP_CHECKS_ALL -- ??
    AP_INV_SELECTION_CRITERIA_ALL -- ??These two tables are still valid for R12. Pl see

    hi all,
    i have few questions regarding the above subject
    Q1 : during the upgrade the installer asks to input Oracle Database owner and BASE directory , and port pool and ...etc
    is it a new location with new user or it should be the same of 11i BASE directory and the same ports
    Q2 : once i'm done with the code tree ( first step ) how we can link the R12 instance with the exisiting database 11g ( 11.2.0.2 )?

  • Why to upgrade R12 from 11i?

    Hi there,
    I would like to get buy-in from business for upgrading from 11i to R12. I know there are lot of benefits but what are the risks for not upgrading besides losing Oracle support?
    We have the following modules on 11i for use - GL, AP, PO, INV, ONT, BOM, WIP, FA, PC, ASCP, iProcurement, iSupplier, iExpense, and HRMS.
    Thank you,
    Vinod

    Hi Vinod;
    Hussein Sawwan post already answer you. I just want to ask you one question. Let you assume I have oracle 8i or 10g database and i am making post here and asking " I am using Oracle 8i should I move Oracle 11g? What is benefit"
    I am sure you can think first " Its old version or it will not supported soon". Than secondly you can think " New version mean many bug fix and it has new future which i can use in future"
    Soo its same for EBS upgrade too, 11i will be unsupported soon so you need to upgrade.Also R12 has new tech.
    One other example we were using windows 2000 but we are using now Win7 and win 8 on way.. We were also use 512MB ram before and many pc has at least 3 Gb ram those days... Why we need to upgrade or OS or hardware? Coz new future need source and also bring us many new benefit.
    Hope i could show you to way to think or imagine why upgrade is neccessary always in IT.
    Check What Hussein Sawwan you can see many good think in it

    Hi,

    Valla,
    We are planning to upgrade our db..please suggest me how much downtime i have ask with our clients ...
    Our Database Size is 35GB.No one can estimate the time for you as this depends on many factors (number of CPUs, how much memory you have, ..etc). The best practice is to upgrade the database on a test instance which is identical to your production database (cloned recently) and estimate the time it takes to complete the upgrade.
    Please suggest me what ais the action plan / precautions we need to take.Because this is first time am doing Up gradation.Again, the best practice is to upgrade a a test instance and list all the issues you may encounter when you upgrade your production database. Please note that you can install the new ORACLE_HOME and the companion/example CD before starting the upgrade itself and without a downtime.
