Upgrade for this model?

Is there an upgrade for the airport extreme card/antenna/software for this model? I don't see my iMac listed in the 802.11n software support. I am tired of having such a weak signal, where using interference robustness does nothing. My husband's work laptop gets a full signal in the exact location of the desktop so it is not an airport base station problem. Please help before I throw the whole thing out the window!

If your desktop stays in the same place, you might take a look at ethernet powerline adapters. Ideally, the very best connection is a continuous ethernet wire from the Extreme to your computer. Second best, would be ethernet adapters that use the wiring in your home to transmit an ethernet signal.
One device would plug into an AC socket near the Extreme and a short ethernet cable would connect those two devices. At the desktop end, another adapter plugs into an AC socket and a short ethernet cable from that device plugs into your computer. My experience is that these work almost as well as a straight ethernet cable between devices and overall, much better than wireless.
Best Buy will have several brands to choose from. For more info, try a google search under "ethernet powerline adapters"

When I had gone to the apple care centre in India a few months ago to upgrade my OSX to Mountain Lion, I was told that considering my macbook pro's specs, upgrading it would just make it less efficient, and that I should stick to Snow Leopard unless I consider buying a newer mac that would benefit from it. Is this true? I find it a bit hard to believe. Which update is most recommended?
I also notice that my mac has gotten considerably slower. While using chrome, it buffers and struggles with even just 5 tabs open. Could this have something to do with my current ios? As a precaution, I have always been making sure I have enough free space on disk i.e around 70 - 100 free out of 250GB.

Mavericks is no longer available from the App Store, so your choice is Yosemite. One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won't have to go though the revert process.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible.

Lenovo G50-45 why is no USB 3.0 driver listed for this model

I started a clean boot of Windows 7 x64 from USB as I'm not a fan of Windows 8 but since installing I've been unable to get the USB 3.0 port to recognize anything I plug in (was working fine before).
I can't see a USB 3.0 driver listed on the support page for this model:

I've also read similar problems have occured on other manufacturers laptops and this was fixed by installing the chipset drivers etc in the correct order.
Is there a correct order I should adhere to?

I am having the exact same issue on my 2013 MBPr.
I have two Seagate GoFlex USB 3.0s, one plugged into the regular 3.0 port (450MB/s) on the left and the other plugged into the high-speed (5GB/s) 3.0 port on the right. When doing a simple copy/paste from the one drive to the other, I observe the following speeds:
Peak Read (USB 3.0): 36.2Mb/s (288Mbit/s)
Peak Write (USB-HS 3.0): 48.7Mb/s (384Mbit/s)
This is far below the 620MB/s for 3.0 and is more around the 35MB/s USB 2.0 standard.
So, I'm likely to agree with the original compaintant that the 3.0 standards aren't being employed by the MacOSX USB drivers and I'd hope to see a fix soon for these issues lest people start moving off of the Mac platforms to other vendors who adhere to industry guidelines.

MBP states boocamp drivers not for this model

I have a late 2010 Macbook Pro that had Snow Leopard and Windows 7 via bootcamp. I installed OSx Lion, and then downloaded the bootcamp drivers via bootcamp assistant. Once downloaded I burned the drivers to a disc. I booted under bootcamp and went to install the updated bootcamp 4.0 drivers. Half way through the install it states the drivers are not for this model and aborts, leaving the system in a state where USB, keyboard etc does not work. I booted back in to OSx Lion and downloaded the drivers again, and burned another disc, and tried again but with the same result.
After a lot of stuffing around I mangaged to get bootcamp 3.2 re-installed on Windows 7 and its normal again, then the system prompted me to update to bootcamp 3.3 drivers which also worked ok.
Is this a known problem? how do I get the OSx Lion bootcamp drivers to install?

I wish I had an answer to your problem... because I'm having exactly the same issue.
I my case, I got a brand new Mac Book Air which came with OS X Lion pre-installed.
I installed Windows 7 OK (64 bits, ultimate edition in my case), but when I tried to install the windows drivers (downloaded with boot camp assistant), the setup aborts with a message that says that this version of Boot Camp is not for this model of computer... !!??
I've downloaded the drivers twice again with the same result...
The strange thing is that I haven't found any other reference to this problem besides this post !!
I hope somebody has an idea about how to solve this ...

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.

Satellite P750-11W - Backlit keyboard for this model

Hello.
I recently boughty a Satellite P750-11W. I thought that the keyboard was backlit, but I was wrong. I bought it in Spain where I am working at the moment. Have you got one of this model with backlit keyboard? If not the same model (not 11W), any P750 with backlit keyboard?

Satellite P750-11W has no backlit keyboard thats right but there are many other Satellite P750 models with backlit keyboard.
I have checked the Toshiba page and for example Satellite P750-10Q has backlit keyboard:

Hello Sony, I have a Sony VAIO (VGN-NW130D). I purchased it new in 2009. It had Windows Vista preinstalled and a bought a Windows 7 disc for my computer. If my computer meets Microsoft's requirements my PC manufacturer should provide the Windows 10 drivers. If Sony choose not to provided Windows 10 drivers for all their PC that are compatible with Windows 10, it will be really off putting and resulting in me never purchasing another Sony PC. It tarnishes a company's reputation when they do unfair things like this. This would just not be fair Sony. Folks, I am just short of losing my mind. Have had to go to the Genius Bar at the ABQ Apple store (after much reluctance). The reinstalled my system for me due to problems. Have spent the day getting things set up but I cannot figure out how to install the 'right' Adobe Flashplayer. Everything is sayng I don't have the right system, etc. What baffles me is that the Flashlayer was on here and worked.
So .. what Adobe flashplayer do I need, where to find it, etc. Also, I realize that it would help to install an updated system. Was told that I had to buy the first stage on line ($20) and they would install the next stage. 10.5.8 is the Leopard, right? What is next and then what after that?
All of this is above my pay scale (so to speak) and I could really use and will appreciate the feedback.

The HP f1904 monitor has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024, and only has DVI and VGA inputs. HP ENVY 17-j003sa Notebook Computer has a 1920x1080 resolution and appears to only have an HDMI output. It may be possible to connect the two using an HDMI-to-DVI cable. There doesn't seem to be any Windows 7/8 drivers available on the HP Pavilion f1904 19 inch LCD Monitor Drivers & Downloads page and it shouldn't require a driver.
The monitor is inferior when compared to the computer. I would suggest the purchase of a new 1920x1080 monitor to compliment the HP 17-j003sa computer you intend to buy.

Why can't I have the Samsung Haven replaced without paying for a new phone since the battery needed for this model will not hold a charge more then 24 hrs?

The Haven is my husbands phone and he calls me from work every night and we talk about 15 minutes. He calls my verizon phone so there is no charge but the problem we have is the phone will not stay charged. We took it in and had it tested along with the house charge and the car charge. All three device are fine so they ordered us a new battey. We put that in and the same thing happens. We don't text, receive text, take or send pictures. We have texting blocked so nothing can use up his battery and yet it still dies. Can you please tell me how we can get this phone replaced without buying a new one. The contract isn't up for renewal until Oct. 2013. We have been long time customers of verizon and I feel we should be able to get a product replaced if it is a defective product the company is selling. It seems Verizon knows there is a problem since there have been so many complaint filed in the last 9 months. If we buy something from Home Depot or Lowes and that product is not working right, they replace it and they go back to the companies that supply it. I am willing to bet Samsung would take Verizon,s complaint more seriously then they would an average consummer. Please tell me Verizon is finally listening to their customers.

We definitely don't want you having a phone described as a lemon so let's work on getting everything back up to a peachy status. What you've indicated is certainly an issue. So, let's fix this.
First, when it comes to your calls not ringing or registering in your log, my recommendation is to update your phone. To do this, simply dial *228, choose option 2, wait for completion and for your phone to restart itself. This will have it resync with our network for optimal usage. Regarding the battery, personally I like to pull my battery every now and again for up to 60 seconds before reinserting (all while the phone is powered off). If you don't notice improvement, we may need to look into a replacement if life is shortlived below what was described prior.
