  • Major considerations for the Upgrade from R/3 4.6c to ECC on HR Part.

    Hi Experts,
We are doing an upgrade from SAP R/3 4.6c  to ECC 6.0
What would be the impact on Personnel Administration and Organizational Management submodules of HR? and the major worries abt ESS and MSS. Currently my client is using ESS and MSS in portal that can retrieve the data from the Backend 4.6c system. while doing upgrade is there any prerequisites i need to met or is there any post upgrade activities for HR or is there Any dependencies?
Because there is a complete architecutre difference for ESS and MSS in both versions, so how can i manage the things without data inconsistencies?
    Responses would be heighly appreciated.

  • Upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1 Test plan

    Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrading our XI server from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1.  Our landscape is connection different Non-sap system(web, FTP, JDBC) and with different sap system.
we need to have concrete test plan before upgrading from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1 wherein non of our existing interfaces should not get affected.
Please provide your solution how can we have our test plan in development perspective. what are the area and functionality we need to test.
    For eg.
    1. do we need to test each and every communication channel?
    2. do we need to go each and every mapping object and check whether any custom code involved?
3 I understand from the blog that when we go for upgrade we need Java proxies need to be redeployed and custom adapter module need to be redeployed. If so do I need go one by one communication channel and check is there any customer adapter module is there or not?
Along with this let me know is there any standard test plan strategy is available.
    Thanks,
    Dhill

  • Old iPhoto project files missing captions after upgrading from OSX 10.4 to 10.7.4

    Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping you might be able to assist me please!  I had created a bunch of iPhoto project books whilst using OSX 10.4 and the version of iPhoto that resided there.  I've recently upgraded all the way up to 10.7.4 and installed the most recent version of iPhoto so that I can finally purchase these photo books.  iPhoto "upgraded" my projects and now all my captions have been replaced by the "ipsum lorem" template text!  Is there any way I can recover the caption text from the hundreds of pages?  Do they reside in a file somewhere on my Mac or have they been wiped away during the upgrade?
Thanks for you time and consideration!

  • Upgrading from Edge 3.0 to edge 3.1

    Hi,
If we consider upgrading from edge 3.0 to 3.1 what are the implications with the data/database?
I am aware that we would have to completely uninstall 3.0 and install 3.1 and I am fine with that concept.  However, what I would like to know is:
    1. can I simply point the 3.1 application to the 3.0 database and it will work?
    2. what happens to the reports which already exist in our 3.0 implementation?
    3. what other considerations need to be made?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi,
I think it should be ok, we only use it for basic presentation of Crystal Reports at present.
I will check out the documentation for the Import Wizard.
We are using a Windows environment and were hoping to take advantage of WACS although I am still not sure it is as secure as Tomcat - that will be a question for another post
    Thanks,

  • Upgrade from Elements 10 - 12?

Hi Can someone please advise as to whether I can upgrade from elements 10 to 12 for free and if so how do I do this. Many thanks !

Any time you go up a full version, it costs. There is an upgrade price from adobe, but about 90% of the time it's considerably more than you would pay to buy the full version from a big box store or one of the large online retailers.

  • Upgrading from ISR 2851 to ISR G2 2951 - config compatibility

Due to throughput limitations, I would like to upgrade from a ISR 2851 to a ISR G2 2951.
I would like to know if the configuration can be exported from the 2851 and loaded to the 2951.
Is there configuration compatibility or will I have to manually re-make the configuration for the 2951 ?

Much depends on what IOS versions, and feature sets, are being used on the two routers; and also on your actual configuration.
Often you'll need to address interface naming changes, but beyond that, it's a "it depends" kind of answer.
However, usually configuration differences are minimal.  New IOS versions will often accept old(er) syntax (and convert it).
You can do what Reza suggests, which is a good approach, or you can try pushing the whole old config onto your newer router.  In either case, watch for errors.  Carefully review the results.

  • Upgraded from Panther to Tiger. Mail import stalls.

I just upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.9 and in the process, Mail.app was updated (as expected). When I launch Mail.app, it starts importing my fifty-seven thousand old emails. It stops on message 3991 and never continues. I sits there forever, perpetually increasing the estimated time to completion. I haven't been able to check my mail since upgrading over the Memorial Day weekend.
I'd like to follow Ernie Stamper's instructions at http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2529207#2529207 but I do have several .imapmbox directories and the instructions for converting those were never posted.
I have a tar archive of my old Mail directory and my old Preferences directory, so no data has been lost yet.
I have several mail accounts, some of which no longer exist on any server, but I still have the messages stored locally. I have messages in all of my inboxes, but I do try to trim them down from time to time by moving them to dated "On My Mac" subfolders. I've got a lot of messages in my trash that can be lost if necessary. The same goes for my old Junk mail.
I have never had any mail plugins installed, so the instructions in the kb article "Mac OS X 10.4: Mail unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won't import previous mailboxes" were useless to me.
I'm very comfortable at the command line, so if anyone has any suggestions that require some shell hackery, don't hesitate to post them.
    15" AlBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The conversion from Mail 1.x to Mail 2.x is broken. Here’s an example of the most common variant of this problem and how to proceed in those cases:
Just upgraded, Most of my old Inbox is gone!
Your problem, however, is different in that you don’t even get an incomplete conversion. If Mail stalls during the conversion process, you may try to identify the mailboxes that Mail is choking on, quit Mail, move those mailboxes out of ~/Library/Mail/ (e.g. to the Destkop), and trash any Envelope Index-named files you may see in ~/Library/Mail/, so that Mail re-creates the index and tries to import the remaining mailboxes again, then manually import the problematic mailboxes as Other.
Alternatively, you may want to set up Mail from scratch and manually import your mail back afterwards. This would allow you to use Mail normally while solving the problem of importing the old mail as you see fit:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/. Move (not copy) the entire Mail folder out of there, to the Desktop.
    3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop.
    4. Open Mail and set it up again from scratch. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and check that everything works fine.
    5. You’ll have to re-configure all your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    6. Do File > Import Mailboxes and follow the instructions to import your mail from the old Mail folder that’s now on the Desktop. Import the Mailboxes folder first, then each of the POP-username@mailserver account folders, if any.
There are two ways to import Mail 1.x mailboxes into Mail 2.x. The obvious one is importing them as Mail for Mac OS X. But Mail 1.x stored mail in standard mbox format plus some additional support files, and this allows Mail 1.x mailboxes to also be imported as Other, i.e. as generic mailboxes in standard mbox format.
Importing as Mail for Mac OS X produces the best results when it works, because it takes into consideration all the files in the mailboxes, not just the mbox files where the messages are stored, and hence, allows information such as status flags to be preserved. Importing as Other, on the other hand, may work in cases where importing as Mail for Mac OS X doesn’t, because it looks at the mbox files only, ignoring the support files which is what Mail 2.x usually chokes on, but precisely because of that, information such as status flags is lost and previously deleted messages may reappear.
Hence, you may try importing as much as you can as Mail for Mac OS X, then import the problematic mailboxes as Other.
Note that what Mail asks for when importing depends on the format chosen. Mail always asks for the folder that contains the “things” to be imported. If Mail for Mac OS X is chosen as the data format, the “things” to be imported are the *.mbox folders, so you must choose the folder that contains them, not the *.mbox folders themselves. On the other hand, if Other is chosen as the data format, the “things” to be imported are the mbox files, so you must choose the *.mbox folders that contain them in that case.
Note also that some of the mailboxes now on the Desktop may have already been partially converted to the new *.emlx format during the previous (failed) attempt to convert them in place. If you tell Mail 2.x to import as Mail for Mac OS X a mailbox that already has a Messages folder, Mail will simply ignore the Mail 1.x files present there. If the mailbox was successfully converted to the new format, that’s fine, but if the conversion was incomplete, that’s not what you want.
As a result of doing all the above, some messages may be duplicated. Andreas Amann’s Mail Scripts has a Remove Duplicates script that you may find useful.
If all is well and you don’t miss anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • HELP! HOW DO I KEEP LOGIC WHEN UPGRADING FROM TIGER TO SNOW LEOPARD!

So I use a later macbook but have another slightly older one (got it in 2007) that kinda kicked the bucket. I'm now able to use it again (with a new setup). I have Logic express (an older version) but the macbook is running that last version of tiger before leopard. I want to upgrade to snow leopard (which i've learned I can from tiger directly for the low price) but I don't want to lose logic since I payed for it and don't have the install discs anymore.
I don't mind getting rid of everything else but I want to keep the actual program on the comp and just run it in SL. What specifically do I have to do (as far as backing up and all that) to CLEANLY upgrade from tiger to SL but keep logic? I'll have an external HD by the time I'm ready so keep that in consideration.

I have never used Logic Express so I can't help you but if you to the Logic Express Forum and repost over there you might be able to find someone who knows about Logic Express to help you.

  • Upgrading from FrameMaker 7 to 8

    Hi all,
I'm the one that posted the topic http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6575e/0 but seems that noone has a good answer to the problem.
To recap, it's a problem about FrameMaker 7 + FDK 7 + Distiller 5 (i.e. there's an external C++ program that calls the FrameMaker and comands it via FDK). The problem is about saving as PDF, that eventually causes FM to crash (same book, same conditionals -> always crash).
At this point I'm considering to switch to FM 8, FDK 8 and a compatibile Distiller (???) but I don't know how painful that could be.
    Does anyone know if:
    - books written into FM 7 have to be converted to be used with FM 8
    - books written into FM 7 looks the same when printed with FM 8
    - the FDK 7's API are compatible with the FDK 8's
    - there are overall consideration to be made prior to embark in switching between 7 and 8
Any advice is appreciated, either about solving/inspecting the FM 7 crash, either about the upgrade from 7 to 8.
    Thanks for your work,
    n3u.

    Well,
I managed to get a VC2005 and to fierce fight to get my application recompiled with FDK8.
Then, to let it run, I had to face funky errors like missing icuuc28.dll, icudt28l.dll, icuin28.dll that are actually shipped with FM8 but not into the right place (system32). I wonder if that files will have to be copied inside the system32 directory for each workstation that will need to run my application!
Besides this, the application finally run and in a certain way it worked! What's shocking is that after the PDF creation the FM8 crashes abruptly giving a nice set of new errors:
    1 - The font information for your system has changed. This change may affect the format and output of your document(s);
    2 - Internal Error: 8004, 6343724, 8484240, 0;
3 - The function XXXX referenced memory that was "read" (or something like that).
    I wonder what's going on!
Of course the fact that the PDF is created until the last page it's a good new, but all that bunch of errors are quite scaring and however not quite a sign of stability.
Do you know the new error I am getting?
There's something that can be done to further inspect the problem?
    Thanks alot,
    n3u.

  • Any changes (SAP HR  upgradation from 4.7 to ECC 6.0)

    Hi
could some one tell the major changes  while upgrading from SAP HR  4.7 to ECC 6.0, like
    1. changes in reporting
    2. data structures
    3. user exits
    4. infotypes.
    Many thanks
    Chinni

    I have questions experts:
    1. In case of upgrade / implementation of ECC6 what are the important consideration from testing point of view for all SAP HR Modules
    2. MSS and ESS is implemented for Performance Appraisal. One role and 3000 to 4000 users (Managers) and employee portion of Performance appraisals is in ITS as a URL service to the BSP page. This will be migrated to WebDynpro from ITS , could you please let us know what are the important functional parameters we should consider for the above activity
I could not get apt information after searching the link

  • Upgrading from Pre 7

    Hi all.
I wish to upgrade from my Pre 7 and photoshop elements 7 bundle to the version 10 bundle.
Looking at the prices for the upgrades on Amazon.co.uk, it appears that the cost of the upgrade bundle
is considerably more expensive that the full version of the bundle.
Since, in my experience, upgrades of any softeware have invariably been cheaper that the full, version I
am somewhat confused and unsure what to purchase.
Can anyone enlighten me on this?
    Thanks
    Jim

As Steve points out, the "Upgrade," is only relative to pricing, and the programs, either on media, or via download, are the "full" versions. As the release of PrE 11 draws a bit closer (historically Sept - Oct), some retails might well be "clearing their shelves," by offering even better deals. So long as the offers are from certified re-sellers, I would go with the best price available. I would speculate that we are seeing the best prices, that we'll see, starting about now, though they could fall a few $, between July and Aug.
Good luck, and happy shopping - just make sure that you are looking at prices from certified resellers, like direct from Amazon (not a 3rd party, listed on Amazon).

  • Lightroom Version Upgrade from 4 to 5?

I purchased Lightroom 4 from B&H Photo on December 29, 2012. Lightroom 5 became available sometime in May or June. Do I qualify for a free upgrade from 4 to 5? Adobe doesn't seem to think so.  I received an email from Adobe denying my request.

You took that out of context. Here is what it says farther up that page:
From what you said in your original post, you didn't purchase LR 4 anywhere near the announcement of LR 5. Thirty days, as Jim said, is what Adobe generally considers "near".

  • Upgrade from BO DI 6.5 to DI XI 3.0 : information please

    Hello,
I received the following one-sentence mail today:
"could you recommend an architecture for BODI XI 3.0 so that we could have an idea of the required hardware/software ?"
Translation: My client is considering upgrading from BODI Version 6.5.1.4 to BODI XI 3.0
I have done developments at the client, so I know the dataflows. Most of the flows are simple extract-transform-load flows, with nothing much special happening in the transform part. Most flows select data from Oracle 9i and/or flat files (csv), then do a simple calculation (sum/average/...) and load the data into an Oracle 9i Database. In some dataflows a stored procedure (Oracle) is called.
Most probably they will ask me to do the upgrade to BODI XI. Now, I've never worked with BODI XI 3.0 before, so i'd be grateful if somebody could help me out with the following questions:
    - what is the required hardware?
What hardware do you recommend for the servers? What is the minimum processor speed, what is the recommended /required RAM?
To be honest, I have no idea what servers the client has right now. I don't know either if these servers will be re-used or replaced by new servers.
    - what is the required software?
What changes? What remains? What needs to upgraded? What gets dropped? Which components remain the same? Is there e.g. still a Repository Manager and a Server Manager in DI XI 3.0?
    - what are the bugs and issues I can expect?
Most probably, the BO/SAP Sales Rep will answer me that everything will go smooooooth...
Now, what do you technical guys say? What are the known issues? What is the way to follow? I don't expect it to be "Click, click, upgrade done".
Any way... I'm catching up on XI 3.0, so maybe I'll find the answers somewhere else. Nevertheless, all replies are kindly welcomed.
    Thanks in advance!
    Daniel

The previous post mentioned the supported platforms document, this should solve your questions around hardware and software requirements.
Also important to check is this document on behavior changes in different DI versions. From 6.5 to XI 3.0 is a big step, so there are some changes along the way to you should now about and could have an impact in existing jobs. Some things I can think of : changes in NULL/varchar behavior & changes in memory management. The former might require some changes in existing jobs ("= NULL" is not supported anymore, needs to be changed in "IS NULL"). The later should not impact existing jobs, but provides new functionality (pageable cache) to boost up memory intensive transforms.
    Here's the document : [Migration Considerations PDF|http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/product_guides/boexir3/en/xi3_ds_migration_considerations_en.pdf]
If you browse other parts of this [documentation website|http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/product_guides/default.asp], you can also check out the Release Summary documents for different release. The Release Summary gives an overview of what's new in a release.
