Upgrade from 7 to 8 results in CFIDE missing

We just upgraded our test server from 7 to 8. The upgrade seemed to go fine, and our test sites are working. Toward the end of the upgrade process, the installer took me into CF Administrator, which worked fine. After the installer completed, it told me there was a previous version that should be uninstalled. I went in and uninstalled it and then rebooted. The sites still work, but I cannot get into Administrator. The CFIDE folder at the root is missing. I assume the uninstall of 7 zapped it.
So I do have CF 8 on a production server, and I thought I would just copy it over. Once I do that I am getting an error:

There is more after that. The strange thing is those "at" lines. It references e:\cf8_updates. The production server has no E drive at all. The test server does have an E, but there is no CF8_updates folder. I installed CF8 from the D drive, so I'm not sure where the reference to E is coming from. This is a Windows Server 2003 using IIS 7.

Those paths you see are the location of the templates on the machine Adobe used to compile them.
Try deleteing all templates in your cfclasses folder and then restarting CF.

Upgrade from ie9 to ie11 results in suspected javascript problem

Upgraded Win7 to Win7sp1, in order to allow upgrade from ie9 to ie11. Install not straightforward and no confirmation if install was seen for ie11. Have checked version on 'about' screen, and it is ie11 (v 11.0.9600.17501 , update version 11.0.15

Upgrade from Luna To Mars - project components are missing

I upgraded from Luna to Mars. Before upgrading, I exported by projects, upgraded and imported them. Now, in the Navigator, I only see a handful of items, outline view is empty, and so is the palette.
I'm new to Startdust and am experimenting, so I may have done something incorrectly. Does anyone know how to get the Model object back?

Upgrade from 8.2 to 9.0 - buttons missing to submit form

Hello everyone,
We have upgraded to LiveCycle ES2 from LiveCycle ES.
When we open the tasks via Workspace ES2, the buttons are missing to submit form. Buttons which should be there because "User must select a route to complete this task" option is selected; and it was working fine in version 8.2. There is only a submit button which appears on the form.
Could you advice about the case please?

Trying to upgrade from Win 8 to Win 8 Pro, missing "add features"

I bought a new laptop that has Win 8 preinstalled on it. I can't figure out how to tell what edition, I think it's Home something or other.
I've tried following the directions at:

When I swipe and search for "add features" it comes up blank. I have a MSDN subscription and downloaded (and got a key for) a Win 8 Pro ISO, but I tried running it and it didn't seem to do anything. I was never presented with a
place to enter my key for the upgrade. I assume I can use this key if I ever get the "add features" to show up?

Upgrade from 4.6 C to ECC6.0,missing field CAUFVD_UPD-INDBT

I am using the user exit EXIT_SAPCOI1_027. I am using a sub routine CAUFVD_UPD for updating the values using memory ID's. The system has been udgraded from 4.6C to ECC6.0. This sub-routine defined in the FM CO_BT_CAUFV_UPD. Here in this FM an table CAUFV_BT is being read by an index field CAUFVD_UPD-INDBT. But in the newer version the fild INDBT does not exist. So i am getting an error message CO 888 "Error when reading internal order header with index". Is there an OSS note which takes care of it? Please help asap.

Just upgraded from FrameMaker 7.2 to version 12. When I try to create a pdf of a book using .ps file, this crashes. When I use the SaveAsPDF option, the graphics either missing or only partially shown in the resulting PDF. Any ideas?

1. Check to see whether you're fully patched (the latest release is 12.0.4 - you need to install the patches in order).
2. Use the RGB option instead of the CMYK (unless you are creating output for press production).

After upgrade from FB4Beta to FB4, web services no longer returning the same data types.

I just upgraded from FB4 beta to the FB4 release. I'm still running the Flex 3.5 SDK and amnow unable to use a lot of my web services. In the previous FB4 beta, I could generate the proxy classes from the WSDL and would get a ResultEvent that containted either my complex data type or an ArrayCollection of those complex data types.
After I deleted and regenerated the services under the FB4 release, I get a ProxyObject or an ArrayCollection of ProxyObjects. No matter what I try I cannot map those ProxyObjects to my complex data type and it's driving me nuts! The oddest thing is that it didn't break all of my services, just some of them.
I've tried several methods of mapping the ProxyObject to my custom data type but I get a null result every time and no errors.

It looks like this was a combination of the upgrade,
increasing use of ASP files and not having seperate application
pools in IIS.
We've just starting edding aspx apps, previously we only had
one asp app so we only used the default app;icaton pool in iis.
With the errors in the virtual directory started, we deleted and
remade the VD with it's only application pool. That appears to have
resolved the issues. The only concern I have is one of the VD did
have it's own applicaton pool and still had the very slow response
after the upgrade. But I'll see how this solution works for the
future.
The decesion was made to only have cf8 installed since that
worked well on our testing server, so we did intend to overwrite
the CFIDE folder.

Fields in read-only mode for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC6.0

This is regarding the query for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC 6.0.
While creating BP / Changing BP system is disabling the fields in compnay code & sales area option. There is a SAP not provided 907860; and specified that the proplem is because of the delta customizing.
All the customization settings are as per the note. And the Synchronization Control is also activated. But still the fields are disabled only.
I have checked the field settings also in Cross-Application-Components & Logistic-Genral.
But these are not working for compnay code & sales area data.
please let me know if anyone has faced this type of problem / found any solution on this.

Upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 to R2 Fails - Unsupported Upgrade Path

I'm currently upgrading our SCCM infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 after have finished with the upgrade from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 CU4, thus far everything works fine, but when I try to update any

If you wonder whether it might be related to this error:

I confirm that this one site is a secondary one that's attached to a primary site and this log is from the CAS server, I managed to tall it and delete it from that site, but still appears listed
on the CAS management console, any idea how to force the removal of a secondary site that's attached to a primary from the CAS site when it has been removed already from said primary?
I've already tried the
Preinst /DELSITE XXX command but it only works when the site to remove it's attached to the local site and certainly not from a CAS
Finally, the version, build number and everything is correct, no idea what could be the problem, does anybody know a way to bypass this or force the re-evaluation of this rules, I've got
the impression that it's being cached somehow.

Hello again everybody,
I've finally managed to fix this up, in the end I had to delete those entries manually from the database as Garry suggested. After this was done the upgrade has gone through as expected with no further ado and has finalized already, now moving on to the
primary sites.
If anybody out there is facing the same issue, what I did was to delete those "stubborn" records executing the following statements over the CAS database:
DELETE
FROMServerDataWHERESiteCode='XXX'
DELETE
FROMSC_SiteDefinitionWHERESiteCode='XXX'
And this is pretty much about it. I'd recommend to take a proper backup first though as best practice.

Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?

After being tricked by the fast talking smoothy helper at Apple store in London to buy a micky mouse ipodtouch (fourth generation) two years ago I am stuck at ios 4.1 and find that all the useful applications need 4.3 or more. So I went to the trouble of letting the macbook stay open all night to load yet another micky mouse version of itunes so that I can upload the more recent version of ios and now (since I don't want to continually have a lot of rubbish on the ipod I disabled the automatic sync "feature") I can only go round in circles whereby the only real possibility left is to turn on the autosync feature. I have had messages like "your ipod will be completely erased if you proceed" and "do you wish to fiddle another few days with this nasty system, then click on continue" and so on.
Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?
That would be great (maybe) because otherwise I will toss this children's waste product on the floor and set up my HD camera to show how easy it is to smash the brightly lit screen into pieces and relieve myself of trash which Apple sell to unsuspecting gullible humans who believe that they are not being tricked by such a nice company who produce shiny colourful gadgets which only work for a month or two before becoming 100% obsolete.

BUT, as I said above -
1. There is nothing "mobile" under Application Support. For whatever reason.
2. Devious - that Apple has set up iPod to not show in Finder - a red herring and sign that corruption is visible.
I will try iFunBox next and it sounds like they provide this for the more serious users but use a trivial name to excuse further strangeness.

and so we are back to where we always land - the user is left in the Apple designed sabotage situation which annoyed me so much initially.
"Most users will give up at this point, loose all the data or buy yet another disposable from Apple. In all, Apple gains, since people blame themselves for "mistakes" which Apple programmed to throw out users who do not take the 100% Apple path. But Illaass and myself still play the game of "trying to fix" something which Apple don't allow." was the comment which I was going to write but decided against it, adding no value to the conversation other than explaining one reality which we all hoped could be wrong but which I thought to have a very high chance of being closer to the truth.

Recheck: Under Application Support "mobilesync" folder has appeared (MobileMeSyncClient has also appeared [while again trying to update iPod] with zero size) - Good news, a Backup file is there, but it is only 3GB while my iPod has 32GB and is close to full (800MB free space).

So it looks like I may have lost all the important pictures documenting various items all around Europe for the last two years - luckily I moved a year ago from the iPod toy camera to a Panasonic real camera with SD card which can be read on any computer. Hence important items lost may only be older than one year rather than the most recent items.
Glad I have changed to Panasonic since they don't try to screw you when you don't use their system.
I will now check the "more information" rather than just click on "OK" since I am of the 3% who "don't accept cr*p".
For full information I quote that the iPod now shows a screen with a USB ikon, an upward arrow and an iTunes ikon (all micky mouse language which reduces transparant, clear and technical discussion and thus covers the trail of "where things went wrong").
The iPod is still attached to the computer but the above MMTALK may mean that the iPod should be attached via USB to the mac. I record much of this activity on Video to be able to later prove EXACTLY what occurred, rather than having to rely on screenshots and opinions. We are after all dealing with important items which may later be required to be shown in court, as evidence against fraudsters.

it has appeared now at least six times interferring with anything else I do. Each time I try to write, this message appears and blocks, but only when I write. I tried to do a carriage return and the message appeared taking the carriage return as acceptance of the OK in the

Message. But since I have not removed the USB and keep returning to this message I am able to write for a few seconds (now 30 seconds or more) and the message remains on the screen but not blocking this conversation. It appears to be random but in fact as you can later see from the video, it is not reappearing each periodic number of seconds but as I reach a new comment.
I will try to close iTunes so that this can be stopped (I clicked on OK and it appeared another few times, each time I clicked on ok and now it has left me in peace to write here although iTunes is still not yet closed).
Difficult to log down all the strange behaviour but I think you can get the gist of what is going on.

Should I remove the iPod and stop iTunes? I have a nasty feeling turning to indifference since I have video footage which will verify all the above in a court of law if later required. The truth must always win over any devious attempts at forcing people to do things they don't want to ;-)
