Upgrade from ALUI 5.0.4 to G6 - objectID question?

I attended BEAWorld and heard about the obectID problem in 5.0.4. We are planning on upgrading to G6 in December. Is there a way for us to find all of the places where we are using objectID with the opener tag? Should we remove/update these tags before the upgrade? Will the objectID still work after the upgrade? Or is this strictly a migration problem?

It's strictly a migration problem, not an upgrade problem. You can safely move to G6 without worrying about ObjectIDs changing.

  • Upgrade from CC for Photographers to Full CC billing question

I want to upgrade to full cc.  But before I do I just need clarification of how I'll be billed since I took advantage of the CC for Photographers.  Will I be billed for both?  Or will adding full cc mean it "cancels" out that $9.99 payment?  Thanks!

    Hi n4photo,
You may upgrade your plan following the steps mentioned under "Membership & account" in the below link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/membership-subscription-troubleshooting- creative-cloud.html
You will not be billed for two subscriptions,  your previous plan will be canceled and you may subscribe to new plan. You may contact Customer/Chat support about switching your plans:

  • Upgrading from old system - have storage/networking/Photos ?s

    Hello,
I want to upgrade from an old system and have a few questions:
1.)  What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting a Time Capsule vs getting an Airport Extreme and a non-Apple external (cheaper) hard drive?
2.)  If I get a 1TB SSD internal, then I only need a 2TB, not 3TB, Time Capsule, right, if I do get a Time Capsule?
3.)  Time Capsule backups are not bootable, right?
4.)  I plan on keeping my photos, etc. off the main drive and on an external drive so I envision my set up as being one internal, one base external and a backup drive of the internal and a backup drive of the external.  If TC backups are indeed not bootable, then is it possible to partition my external hd into two sections, one that is bootable and one that is used to store the photos and other stuff?
5.)  For those who are already using Photos, is it possible to have your Photos Library on an external disk and/or have multiple libraries or do you have to use a program like iPhoto Library Manager like before?
6.)  Is there a way, that's not too expensive, to hook up an old Cinema HD Display that has a ADC connector to a thunderbolt iMac?
7.)  I don't particularly like the new OS's flat-look, is there a way to customize how the OS looks?  I remember WAY back in the day one could almost totally change the way the OS looked (colors/dimensionality) and sounded.  Are there third party ways of doing that like before?
THANKS in advance for any and all help!!!

1 no, other then it's build in
2 time machine is not a carbon copy it backup the state where you did not have file x yet and back up when you had file x and backup when you no longer had file x, given enough time it will fill up all backup drives, when it does you can draw a line in the sand and clear the backup and start from new with a backup of how the computer is at that given time.
    3 no
5 yes but it has to be a drive that can be indexed so a nas would not work external drives such as usb, tb and the likes would
    6
Connecting cinema display to mini mac
    more
hook up ADC display with new mac
7 not apart from downgrading the OS X to an older system or if you find some third party program which alters the look

  • Upgrading from 10.2 to Leopard

I'm trying to help my mother upgrade from 10.2.8 to Leopard. Simple question (I think): Does she have to install 10.3, 10.4, and then 10.5? Or can she just do one installation of 10.5?

You can just install 10.5, assuming the machine supports it. It needs to be fast (> 1Ghz) and have at least 2 GB RAM. Otherwise, you'll be spending a lot more time at your mother's.
Don't attempt an "upgrade" of 10.2. Back up the data, then reformat the drive, then install Leopard. Don't run any migration utility. Set everything up fresh. Reinstall updated versions of all software that will run on Leopard. The only thing you want to copy from the old machine are documents.

  • Upgrading from CR2008 to CR2011

We write our Reports in Crystal Developer (currently on CR2008 SP1).
We have a VB.NET 2010 executable that is called from our non-VB.NET program that uses the CR2008 Crystal for .NET components to generate/output/render the Crystal Reports we created in the Developer edition.
We deploy these reports and the Crystal 2008 runtime components (using the .msm files) to our customers who can then run the reports.
We are looking to upgrade from CR2008 to CR2011.  I have some questions that I haven't been able to find the answers for in this forum:
    1.  I see I can purchase the SAP Crystal Reports, upgrade for $295.00, is this the developer edition?
    2.  I have reviewed the CR2011 user's guide. Is there any document that specifically lists the changes between CR2008 & CR2011?
    3.  When we upgrade, it is a three step process:
we will need to open all our CRreports

I really do love your questions.
The reason to upgrade to CR2011 is to have the 'latest and greatest' version of the software out there, and get our reports up-to-date on the latest version. If there is no need to upgrade to CR2011, then we won't. What do you recommend?
    - I'd prefer to stay out of the recommendation , but you may be able to determine that CR 2011 has some new feature(s) you can not live without. That's a decision you'll have to make. Perhaps contacting sales and asking them for a compelling reason(s) to upgrade will be the way to go. I'm being slippery I know... (BTW.; sales ph: 866-681-3435).
If you recommend not upgrading (there's no advantage to having our reports run the latest version of CR2011), then do we even need to bother upgrading the Crystal references?
    - If you want to use VS2010, then you will have to download CRVS2010. No other version of CR is supported with VS2010. Reports created in version 2008 of CR and before will work just fine with the CRVS2010 runtime.
Our VS2010 app (as it is today) is pointing to the CR2008 references and is generating our CR2008 reports just fine. So what would be the benefit of upgrading the VS2010 references to the CRVS2010 references if it is working fine?
    - You'd be in a "supported" environment. As things are, if you run into any issues as you go (be it coding, runtime deployment, etc., etc.) the 1st thing we'll tell you is; upgrade to a supported version of CR (CRVS2010).
Do we need to upgrade at all?
    - Again, if you will be using VS2010, then yes. I would upgrade to CRVS2010 without giving it a second thought. That does not mean you need CR 2011 though...

  • Upgrading from v1.1 to v2.0

We recently purchased the upgrade to CW v2.0. I tried to load a Visual
Basic 6 project that was done with CW v1.1 and ran into errors during
loading. It complained that all of the controls were not a loaded
class. Worse yet, is that VB replaced all fo the CW controls on the
form with a picturebox control of the same name.
Has anyone else had problems upgrading from v1.1 to v2.0 ?

Your question comes down to terminology.
An "upgrade" in IPS terminology involves the conversion of configuration from the lower version to the higher version.
The IPS 6.0(2)E1 upgrade file (the latest 6.0 version you should use) is: IPS-K9-6.0-2-E1.pkg available from this link:
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ips6
BUT the IPS 6.0(2)E1 upgrade file can NOT upgrade a sensor from 4.1 to 6.0(2)E1.
Instead if you were worried about conversion of your configuration you would have to first upgrade to 5.0(1e). And then from 5.0(1e) you CAN upgrade directly to 6.0(2)E1 using the file I mentioned above.
But by saying that you are not concerned with conversion of your 4.1 configuration, then you open yourself to another alternative that we refer to as "System Re-imaging".
With System Re-imaging everything on the sensor will be wiped out (including configuration) and a fresh manufacturing image will be installed on the sensor.
System Re-imaging can be done to Any version (any version that has a System Image) from Any version.
There are no version requirements because it first erases everything on the sensor.
To do a System Re-image to 6.0(2)E1 you will need to download the 6.0(2)E1 System Image file specifically for the IDSM-2:
    WS-SVC-IDSM2-K9-sys-1.1-a-6.0-2-E1.bin.gz
    from this link:
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ips6-cat6500-idsm2-sys

  • Upgrading from Tiger!

I want to upgrade from tiger onto leapord, I have the following questions in mind:
Q1) Will all my applications I use in tiger remain there and work in leapord too?
Q2) What about the settings each application have e.g bookmarks in Safari and esp the dates in my ical etc will they all stay?
Q3) What about all the widgets I have to give me ready info will they also migrate smoothly?
    Q4) Is it worth upgrading?
I have the leapord disc in my hand right now and I am dying to try it but I dont want to go through the hassle of installing and updating each and everything.
I have the following specifications will it run smoothly like tiger?
    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook1,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 1.83 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 512 MB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB11.0061.B03
    SMC Version: 1.4f12

    Hi ahsan366;
My suggestion is to clone your system drive and then test the clone by booting from it. If the clone test good that Upgrade to Leopard. This way you can test it for yourself. If it works you are done. If not, restore the clone and you are back to where you are right now.
This is exactly what I did with both my MacBook Pro and my PowerMac Quad. I had no problems with either of them.

  • Possible Upgrade Path from ALUI 6.1 to Webcenter Interaction 10gR3

We are in the planning stages of an upgrade. Currently we are using ALUI 6.1 MP1 and wish to upgrade to WebCenter Interaction 10gR3. I am wonderng if the upgrade path is ALUI 6.1 MP1 --> ALUI 6.5 MP1 --> WCI 10gr3?
Is it possible to go directly from ALUI 6.1 MP1 to WCI 10gR3?

I was told that I could install from 6.1 to 10G. Which I did...
what you need to remember is to run the upgrade scripts to your database from 6.1 to 6.5, and then upgrade scrip from 6.5 to 10G. thats all, but you do not have to run the install for 6.5, just go directly to 10G.

  • Document comparing the benefits to upgrading from version to version

I'm looking for a document that describes the benefits gained for upgrading from one version to the next. We're currently on version 6.0sp1 and I'm interested in getting us on the current version; but need to be able to easily explain what the benefits are.
I have seen quite a few threads talking about getting upgraded to 10gR3; is that the most recent version of the former AquaLogic portal? Is there a newer version that exists in the new 11g release? Or is that one of the many other portal products offered from Oracle?
If any of you have recieved or created a document describing the differences between versions, I'd really appreciate it if you could share the information.
    Thank you,
    Tom

Blog entry from Brian Harrison, the product manager of WCI:
"Should I Upgrade to WCI 10gR3":
    http://blogs.oracle.com/WCI
Surprisingly, this is not an easy question to answer. If you are currently running a version of ALUI 6.5, then there is truly not a great reason for upgrading, because there were not a lot of changes made between ALUI 6.5 MP1 and WCI 10gR3. In fact, we essentially think of WCI 10gR3 as ALUI 6.5 MP2. Here is a list of the primary changes that were made to create WCI 10gR3:
    • New Adaptive Layouts for iPhone
    • New Experience Rule for IP addresses
    • Oracle Branding
    • Removal of license key requirements
    • A few bug fixes across different areas of the products
If one or more of the above items are important, then there may be a good reason to upgrade to WCI 10gR3. However, if the above items are not important, then maybe it isn’t important for you to upgrade quite yet.
On the other hand, if you are currently running a version of ALUI 6.x prior to 6.5, then there are a lot of great reasons for upgrading because there were a lot of new features added between 6.x and WCI 10gR3. The new UI engine called Adaptive Layouts is definitely a very significant improvement as well as the availability of the new Friendly URLs feature. In almost every instance, I would recommend that a ALUI 6.0 or 6.1 customer upgrade to WCI 10gR3.

  • Is it really possible to upgrade from a Treo 650 to a Treo 750?

I am not a very happy customer at the moment, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded from my old Palm Tungsten to a Zire, then to a Cingular Treo 650, combining three devices into one. I have since discovered that the Treo 650 seems to have a faulty transmission mode, as I can rarely be clearly understood by whomever I call. Am on the second (or third, I have lost track) and continue to have the same problem. I get five bars of reception but can't be understood on the other end. A bit of a problem when one is trying to call 911. Am constantly told I am "breaking up". The repair shop says it "Can't duplicate the problem". OK, then I do not want to give up all the info I have stored in the fool thing, and the 750 seems to have a different system, so I thought I would try that. All the stuff I could find seemed to indicate it wouldn't be a problem to upgrade. When the 750 arrived, I tried to install the software from the CD on my Windows XP computer. No dice. Setup encounters an error and closes. Can't even look at the files, because setup tries to run any time I access the CD. From any drive.  Gave it to my girlfiend to check on her computer, and the CD seemed to run fine. Other CDs work just fine on my computer. Must be some kind of conflict, but what? Tried calling the AT&T number that suggested they could help with setup, and was first connected to the business center, they routed me to the laptop center, who routed me to the network center, who said they would have to bring in the Palm customer service and connected me to a Mac guy that dumped me back to a menu that took me to someone for whom English is a second language with whom I was trying to communicate over a very poor satellite connection. They made no sense anyway. telling me first that I couldn't have two desktops running (wrong, my girlfriend has my old Zire and the CD worked fine) and then insisting that the serial number on my device had to start with a P, when it clearly does not have any alpha characters in it. Gave up on that route of assistance. Managed to get the new ActiveSync installed from my girlfriends computer over the network. Great. Now let's get my 650 synced with Outlook (which I have not used at home) and see if we can move on. Nope. First I have to update Outlook 2000 from the old Win98 to my current XP. Find the old CD, and square that away. OK, now sync to Outlook. Nope. The sync program gives an error, saying it will only sync with Outlook 98, 2000, and XP(2002). Good grief. I have Outlook 2000, and the software apparently does not recognize it. If the Palm doesn't work, there is no reason for me to keep this phone, and I am very close to returning it and abandoning the Palm entirely when I upgrade to something that works, although I dread re-entering all that information.

Thanks for the feedback. Today I installed an Enterprise version of Office 2007 I purchased a while back, but had not yet installed. Microsoft presented a few challenges, but they were quickly resolved. I then downloaded the appropriate conduit from Palm, and synced the 650 with the handheld overwriting the computer. Then used Active Destop to sync the 750. Satisfied I had moved as much info as possible, I called AT&T and had them move the phone number to the new Treo.
Bonus! When the guy at AT&T called me on the new phone to verify it, he said it sounded better than my landline.
Sorry for the streaming paragraph. When it is late I tend to write like I think.

I upgraded from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 6.  Everything converted fine.  Yesterday I deleted an app in error.  When I downloaded the software it from iTunes ( did this many times on the old 3GS), my account is no longer recognized by the app's host servers (Playtika), even though it did after the initial conversion.  Can I go back and re-sync just one app from my old phone?

Try deleting what is called the iPod Photo Cache.

  • Can't print from IE 8 after upgrading from Vista to Windows 7

My laptop (HP Elitebook 8530w) uses two HP printers: Color LaserJet CP3525x (at work) and Deskjet 6940 (at home). Both printers are accessed across a local network.
I recently upgraded from Vista Enterprise to Windows 7 Enterprise.
Everything still prints fine (from Word, Adobe Reader, Windows Photo Viewer, etc.), except for IE 8! When I try to print a web page from IE, it prints only the page header, and otherwise the sheet is empty. This symptom occurs on both printers. (And of course this worked fine before the upgrade.)
Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

If anyone else is having this problem, I found the solution on another forum (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/thread/920588e5-ccc4-4e24-83d6-606...).
Specifically, the following steps solved the problem:
    1. If it doesn't already exist, create a directory named "Low" in your directory "C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Local\Temp\".
    2. From a command prompt, issue this command:  ICACLS C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Low /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low
