Kkofron please make sure the CS5.5 serial number you are using is also able to be registered under your account at http://www.adobe.com/. start the installation of design premium cs5.5 just to make sure you're using the correct serial number. once your serial number is accepted you'll see a screen giving you the option to install none, some or all of the cs5.5 programs. at that point you can quit and not install anything having verified your cs5.5 serial number if you want nothing cs5.5 on your computer.
on the other hand, if your cs5.5 serial number is not accepted, you'll pinpoint the problem.
or, if your cs5.5 number is accepted, you could install a cs5.5 program and then install cs6. it should recognize you have a cs5.5 program installed and NOT prompt you for you cs5.5 serial number allowing you to continue with your cs6 installation. -
ever since i "upgraded" to yosemite i can't run illustrator (i'm getting a plugin error "Photoshopimport.aip" and "PhotoshopExport.aip" message... i've tried to get support (no longer available for cs4 design premium!!!... i've uninstalled and reinstalled... the problem persists... can anyone at adobe provide guidance, orientation, help?... thank you kindly,

I'm having problems upgrading from 10.6.8 to Yosemite. My computer locks up after the download and installation process. Does anyone know how I can overcome this problem?
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -

The $699.00 upgrade version requires a valid serial number from a commercial version of Final Cut Studio, Production Suite, or Final Cut Pro 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Academic and not-for-resale versions are not eligible for this upgrade. -
Hi Trying to download CS5 Design Premium. We have a copy on the Mac and want to put a second copy on the Macbook pro. Can download the file but when it is clicked the file give an error message "User access denied" and dumps the download. So hence I do not get an installation screen or a chance to enter the Licence no.

CS will not upgrade to CS5. Historically, only CS2-CS4 ever qualified for upgrade to CS5. Those versions are all long superseded and no longer available from Adobe.
Adobe currently only sells CS6 (for outright purchase) and the Cloud (by subscription only). Cloud members have access to both CS6 and CC.
The only way to upgrade to CS6 is from CS5. Adobe no longer sells CS5. Unless you purchase the full version of CS5 from elsewhere (I don't see any point in that in this case) you would not be able to upgrade to CS6. You'd have to buy the full version of CS6. Or subscribe to one of the Cloud plans. PS+LR is an excellent deal if you use those products. -

After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Acrobat X1, Purchased upgrade, failed as no valid product to upgrade from existed (my mistake but want my money back!). So purchased Acobat X1 std, install seemed OK, but does not work as I continue to get the upgrade screen saying no valid product to upgrade from? So now I have spent lots $$ and nothing working. Why is this so complicated? what do I need to do?

Thanks for this; my issue is that I have now supposedly purchased a retail version of Acrobat X1 (i.e just spent more $$, after the upgrade attempt to Acrobat X1 failed), and while this feigns an OK install, it fails in someway to override the "Upgrade Acrobat X1 version". E.G. once I load up to read an acrobat file the "upgrade version" executes/intercepts and ask for serial numbers and check for a previous qualifying version which I do not have, (BUT what I do have is the current retail version of acrobat X1 which is not recognised)
Do I need to uninstall and start over again? (I am reluctant to do this as I am sure serial number issues will arise, as I assume downloaded file will be cleaned up etc, and I am not spending more money trying again!)

I am using a macbook air laptop, i trying to transfer my photoshop files from my macbook desktop to my laptop but it comes up with Error: 1 and advises me to contact adobe support for help.
Are you referencing your Photoshop image files, or Photoshop application files?
If the latter, cease and desist at once!

The speed of upload e download is good?The Creative Cloud file storage could be used for video assets but speed and performance might vary based on location. I would suggest you testing it out yourself using your Adobe ID before subscribing. Performance would not change after you joined.
