yes, your plug-in may, or may not, be compatible with versions it was not designed for.

  • Lightroom Upgrade From LR 4 to 'Creative Cloud' LR version 5

I already have LR 4 installed. I also have a Creative Cloud membership paid monthly for PS & PP. I now want to upgrade my standalone LR4 to LR5 but within Creaative Cloud but there does not seem to be a way to achieve this. The page on Creative Clod instructs to download free trial (which I have done) but now that has expired and cannot go to the purchase section within the Creative Cloud Suite? When I try it just tells me to dowmload free trial again. Within LR 5 trial which has expired the only option I have is 'buy'  but HOW do you buy within Creative Cloud? Thank you

You can upgrade to Lightroom 6, from any pervious version of Lightroom, for a one off price of $79.  A link to the relevant page on their website is below.
(if you click buy Lightoom 6, it gives the option to either purchase the full or upgrade version, in a submenu).

    Hi!
Please, i wanted to know that:
What happens if I buy photoshop cc for 12 months but then reside to upgrade to creative cloud before the expiration of the photoshop's 12 months?
Will I continue to pay them separately, or I will continue pay for creating cloud only which contains photoshop anyway?
My plan is to learn photoshop very well before I move to premiere and after effects.
So I don't want to pay the subscription furor the creative cloud from the beginning but only after I have mastered photoshop.
    Thank you!

You can upgrade your Single App subscription to full Cloud at any time and you'll only be paying one (higher) monthly fee.

  • Upgrade from CS3 standard to Creative Cloud for companies in Romania

I have three licences of CS3 Standard, registered for my company in Romania. I found a special offer on Adobe site for switching to creative cloud. I applied with my Adobe ID to see if I qualify and I got a positive answer. (Congratualtions you qualify). Anyway, a Romanian Adobe dealer I was talking to, said that this option is not available in Romania for companies. I really need an official answer since i don't want to have legal problems.
I wanted to attach some print screens but i couldn't.

Not sure what the account is with the gallery of photos on so hard to say.
You certainly won't lose anything you currently have edited with LR3.  When you first open your old LR3 catalogue with the new version you'll be asked to upgrade the catalogue so it's compatible with LR5 but you'll still have the old catalogue too should you wish to go back to LR3.
The CC licence allows you to have the software on two devices. Unless the tablet is an iPad in which case you can also LR Mobile on it as part of the Photographer's CC package too.  You can't use the full versions of LR on three platforms on one CC licence though, no.

  • Upgrading from Lightroom Trial to Creative Cloud

I've searched in the forums but didn't find the answer: I had an expired trial version of Lightroom on my computer. I have a creative cloud account and want to use LR now using that.  In my CC install manager I can see that LR5 is updated, but when I try to open the program it asks me a serial number. Is there a solution or should I uninstall LR, download and reinstall it?

And if the Creative Cloud version isn’t listed in the CC Desktop app after you uninstall the non-CC version, then log out of the CC Desktop app, via its Preferences (Gear) / Accounts area, then reboot, then log back in.  This forces the CC Desktop to rescan what is and isn’t installed.

I don't think you will be able to upgrade to CS5 as it is not for sale thru Adobe.  I don't think anyone outside of Adobe sells upgrades.  Thru Adobe you would have to purchase a full version of CS6 (or subscribe to the CLoud)... there is no upgrade path from CS2 to CS6

  • Since the upgrade to CC 2014 via Creative Cloud, I'm ending up with both version of all my Adobe CC products, and I lost my plugins in Photoshop CC 2014.

    Hello
Since the upgrade to CC 2014 via Creative Cloud, I'm ending up with both version of all my Adobe CC products, and I lost my plugins in Photoshop CC 2014.
How can I fix this ?

I did it by going to my old Photoshop CC Plugins folder and copying it aand then pasteing it in the Phtoshop CC 2014 folder. All mine came back and worked.

  • Migrating settings, actions, plug-ins etc. from CS5 to CS6 (Creative Cloud)

    Hi,
I wondered if someone could help me with the transition from CS5 to CS6 (Creative Cloud). I'm on a Mac with Mountain Lion.
I would like to migrate as many settings (i.e. workspaces where relevant), personal Photoshop actions, plug-ins (i.e. Type DNA, FontShop [Photoshop], Scriptographer [Illustrator] and Blurb Template Creator [InDesign]) as possible from CS5 to CS6. What is the easiest and smoothest way to do this?
Some settings, actions and plug-ins might not work with CS6, I don't know. I can't find where my Photoshop actions are archived atm.
Can I import extensions from Adobe Extension Manager CS5 to Adobe Extension Manager CS6?
Should I uninstall all CS5 apps? I'd like to keep InDesign CS5 for backwards compatibility at least.
Does Audition completely replace Soundbooth? What about Flash Catalyst, Device Central and OnLocation?
Edit: I have already installed all the Creative Cloud applications btw. But I haven't uninstalled any CS5 apps yet.
    Thanks,
    Eivind

    Hi Elvind,
I would suggest keeping both CS5 and CS6 versions on the system until you are fully transitioned, longer if you want. When you launch Photoshop CS6 it will ask you if you want to import settings from the prior version. Third party plug-ins may or may not be compatible between versions so you might need to check with the manufacturer to find out. You would most likely need to reinstall any third party plug-ins that integrate into existing Adobe product installations though.
I found this document for Photoshop CS6
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/preset-migration-photoshop-cs6.htm l
For the PS actions, I normally open the actions panel, highlight the actions set (folder) I wanted to migrate, from the flyout menu of the panel choose the option to save the set, this creates the .atm file. There is another option for importing actions in the same menu.
I can't speak to migrating in relation to the other products. I would recommend posting in the respective product forums.

  • Upgrade from CS2 to CS3? (for Windows XP)

Hi, guys. I'm new here. And I only signed up for the forums so I could ask someone for help!! Haha! So, here goes......
I recently started using Adobe CS2.
I signed up for the 30 day trial of RadLab by Totally Rad. It worked fine, but my trial expired before I could finish the photos I had been editing. So I uninstalled the RadLab trial, signed up for a new trial with a different e-mail address, and re-installed it. Only, this time, RadLab wouldn't work. So I contacted Totally Rad and the guy told me that RadLab won't work on CS2. It has to be CS3 or higher. (I'm still confused as to how RadLab worked for 30 days on my CS2 if it supposedly only works on CS3 or higher)...
So, now, I am looking to upgrade from CS2 to CS3... but I don't know where to look. I tried Google, but nothing seems to match what I'm looking for. I would hate to upgrade all the way up to CS5, because I don't think my PC could handle it. (I've been told that CS5 takes up a lot of room, and I don't think my computer is strong enough to hold it all. My memory capabilities are very limited. Even with CS2, I couldn't open/edit much all at once.)
I say all that, to ask this...
How do I go about upgrading from CS2 to CS3, and it not cost me an arm and a leg? I'm on a super-tight budget ($150 is the absolute highest I'm willing to go). I'm unemployed and money is extremely tight.
Thank you in advance for your help!!

I don't want to burst your bubble about using Photoshop CS3, but I would expect any software with good trialware security to not work twice on the same system no matter whether you sign up with a different eMail address.  They'd be stupid not to have it work that way.
If you need the software to get your project done, why not actually buy it?
You're no doubt expecting to derive value from your project...  Shouldn't the people who worked to create the software you're using derive some value from their work as well?
I can appreciate your being on a budget, but the old saying "if you want to play you have to pay" comes to mind.  I'm sorry to be blunt.

  • If upgrade from CS2 to CS 3 can I still use GoLive ?

If I upgrade from CS2 to CS3 with Dreamweaver, can I still use/run GoLive to maintain existing GoLive files for a time, until I make the transition ?, or once I install CS3 I need to transition right quick ?
thanks if anyone knows the answer to this ... Laura

    > In my case, once I installed and activated CS3 my CS2 apps stopped working. Was GL CS2 excluded from this shutdown?
What do you mean by stopped working? Did you get an error message when launching the apps?

  • Upgrading from CS2 Suite (Win) to CS5 Suite (Mac)

Over the last few days I have twice called Adobe UK sales and have been assured that I can easily upgrade my Windows CS2 suite to a Mac CS5 suite.
I was told that all I have to do is enter the CS2 Windows serial number during the CS5 Mac installation and it will be accepted.
However I have found no mention of this anywhere on the internet.
Has anyone been given the same or conflicting advise by Adobe for this type of scenario?

Adobe are even contracdicting themselves re CS5 upgrades.
I was told by the UK sales team that I wouldn't need to submit a letter of software destruction upgrading from CS2 Windows to CS5 Mac.
However, the Adobe on-line representative said I would.
I can understand this requiurement for a straight platform swap of the same version.
However, if I am upgrading, I surely need a valid suite to upgrade from?
If I destroy my CS2 I will no longer have a valid suite any longer!
I have also found out that PhotoShop Mac CS5 will apparently no longer have the ability to print printer profiling targets with colour management disabled. Supposedly Adobe labs are developing a separate utility for printing profiling targets but with no ETA. This means that I will have to continue to use an earlier version of PhotoShop anyway!
With these uncertainties, contradictions and complications I have now cancelled my order.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Upgrade from CS2 Education to CS5 Full Commercial?

    Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I have a question regarding upgrading to CS5. I don't think there's been another question on this specific question I have. If there is, sorry for posting it again.
Basically, I have a copy of the CS2 Design Premium Education version. Now I would like to upgrade it to the CS5 Design Premium Commercial version. I didn't need to work from home previously, so never really needed the commercial licence for my laptop. But now it's time to get one so I can work anywhere.
I know there is an upgrade from CS2 to CS5 version that I can purchase but it doesn't tell me if it can be used on the Education version too.
Can anyone confirm that the upgrade does work on an Education version too?
    Thanks heaps.
    Leanne

You brought up a few issues here.
    (1) If you bought an upgrade that you cannot use, please call Adobe Customer Support (via phone) and see what can be done to let you return the software. There should not be any problem if this is within 30 days of purchase, but even if not, they should be supportive. If the first agent you speak to can't assist, ask for their supervisor.
    (2) The copy of CS3 that was installed on your Mac by your employer is likely a volume license which cannot be upgraded via a standard upgrade license. Note that if your employer installed the software using their volume serial number, that software license belongs to your employer and not you personally. It that employer is in fact your ex-employer, you no longer have legal rights to use that software which was licensed to your ex-employer. (Note that purchasers of volume licenses cannot unbundle a volume license by either giving away copies such as to former employees or sell such copies!)

  • Can I remove photoshop cs2 after I have upgraded from cs2 to cs5?

Can I remove Photoshop CS2 after I have upgraded from CS2 to CS5?  I upgraded from CS2 to CS5 quite a while ago and I have never removed CS2.  Will it affect CS5 to remove the old CS2 if it was an upgrade?

If I were you I would just delete the installed  Adobe CS2 folder. Adobe CS2 uninstaller my remove settind CS5 made to your system after CS2.   The CS2 uninstaller may try to restore settings to a point in time where there was no Photoshop installed on your system.  If you do a CS un-install you may need to then Install CS5 on top of itself the update cs5 for the install will not have the updates you will be back at CS5 level .
