Upgrade from ERP 6.0 with AFS 6.0 to ERP EHP4 - AFS 6.4

Dear all,
I've upgraded our Solution Manager to latest maintenance (all latest release/all latest Sp/all Oss notes)
I 'm unable to have a queue with EHP4 - Afs 6.4 from Solution Manager
If I define a system as SAP ERP 6 with Afs, the sol. man. give me the option to upgrade to EHP4 but 'forget' AFS 6.4.
If I define a system as Afs Server 6, the sol. man doesn't show me the option to upgrade to EHP4.
Any Idea to exit from this stall condition ?
If I choose the option SAP ERP 6.0 to upgrade to EHP4, SAPHEPI will ask me the AFS upgrade CD and all AFS Sp ?
My target is:
- ERP 6.0 SPS 16 with AFS SP8 + ERP 6 EHP4 SPS 4 with AFS 6.4 SP 2, the max possibile now.
Thanks tho who will try to help me.
Regards

Hi Reena

  • Limitations of upgrading from ERP 2004 to 2005

We are evaluation completing an upgrade from ERP 2004 to 2005. However, we found a limitation in note 879335 regarding upgrading the portal.
We have an Enterprise Portal instance that is separate from the SAP ECC J2EE add-in. The ESS components including XSS run on the J2EE add-in.
According to this note, we cannot upgrade the XSS component on the J2EE add-in because it
is not running on EP. Does this mean we need to undeploy the XSS components and then upgrade the J2EE and then install the XSS component? or Do we need to import the XSS component on EP and then
    upgrade?
    Why is this a limitation?

I have isolated the issue further. In the following code fragment the event is being fired twice the first time and never again:
              If pVal.FormType = 133 And pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_LOAD Then
'// get the event sending form
                   'SBO_Application.MessageBox("Hello world")
                   oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.GetFormByTypeAndCount(pVal.FormType, pVal.FormTypeCount)
                   oNewItem = oForm.Items.Add("Button1", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_BUTTON)
                   oNewItem.Left = 285
                   oNewItem.Top = 382
                   oNewItem.Width = 100
                   oNewItem.Height = 19
                   oNewItem.FromPane = 0
                   oNewItem.ToPane = 1
                   oButton = oNewItem.Specific
                   oButton.Caption = "New Button"
              End If
    End Sub
The code is an adaptation of the SDK VB.NET sample ('11.SystemFormManipulation'), which is supplied with the latest version of the SDK installation.
The big question is why is the event being fired twice.

  • Upgrade from ERP 5.0 to ERP 6.0 EHP 4 SP5 - phase START_SHDI_FIRST

    operating system: iSeries V6R1
(this one is probably for Volker Güldenpfennig...a Happy New Year from Germany!)
    SID: AP4
    instance number normal: 00
    instance number shadow: 08
    hostname: ap400c
    error in phase MAIN_SHADOW/START_SHDI_FIRST:
    shadow instance does not start
effect: The subsystem R3_08 ist started immediately but no process at all appears in WRKACTJOB.
The upgrade program hangs for about 5 minutes and then shows the error message below.
SAP note 525677 is already known but does not help.
    error message:
To analyse the errors during start of shadow instance,
           view files 'STARTSFI.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG'
           in directory '/usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/log'
Repeat phase until shadow instance is started
and you can log on instance number '08'.
    STARTSFI.LOG:
BUT: The file DEVTRACE does not exist at all !!!
From previous upgrades I knew that this phase brings quite some trouble so I already did this:
    - giving special right *ALLOBJ to user AP408 and AP4ADM (with WRKUSRPRF)
    - SAP note 1168235, page 9: file /usr/sap//upg/abap/SYS/global/ms_acl_info
        1.) deleted
        2.) qualified hostname (HOST=ap400c.apetito.de) used
        3.) (HOST=*) used
Before restarting the phase I always ended the subsystem as QSECOFR with ENDSBS SBS(R3_08) OPTION(*IMMED).
    showipc 08 shows no entries.
    THIS IS THE INTERESTING PART!!!
After some deeper investigation I found this:
In /usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/bin/SHADOW.TPP there are these lines:
    AP4/startsap    = /usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/AP4/homeshd/ap4adm/startsap  SID(AP4) INSTANCE(08) PROFILE
    ('/usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/AP4/SYS/profile/START_DVEBMGS08_ap400c') DVEBMGS08
    AP4/stopsap     = /usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/AP4/homeshd/ap4adm/stopsap  SID(AP4) INSTANCE(08) WAIT(*YES) WAITTIME(600) DVEBMGS08
but the directory .../homeshd/ap4adm does not exist all (sounds very UNIX-like to me).
I changed the SHADOW.TPP file and used "/usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/exe/startsap" and "/usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/exe/stopsap"
but this file seems to be created every time this phase starts.
So I copied the two programs "startsap" and "stopsap" from /usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/exe to the manually created directory
    /usr/sap/AP4/upg/abap/AP4/homeshd/ap4adm
Any ideas? (Maybe the R3INLPGM sucks...?)

    Rudiger,
Hello from cold Minnesota, USA!  We are also upgrading from ERP2004 to ERP 6.0 EHP 4 SP4 on IBM i V6R1 and had a similar START_SHDI_FIRST issue that may be relevant to your problem.
As in your post no shadow system jobs appeared in WRKACTJOB and no DEVTRACE file was created.  After after some time an RFC category message was shown in the upgrade GUI but turned out not relevent for us.
A QZSHSH control job launches two (2) SBMJOB commands calling R3INLPGM with parameters to start the shadow instance.  In our case these SBMJOB commands were failing because the SAPINLPGM program invoked by this process wasn't found in library SAP<SID>70UP.  I copied the missing SAPINLPGM program from library SAP<SID>70U to SAP<SID>70UP and restarted the upgrade GUI and the shadow instance then started as expected without further issue.
If this doesn't solve the problem try temporarily changing your shadow instance ("R3_08") job description (*JOBD) in R3<SID>400 to better trace the failing SBMJOB commands--> CHGJOBD JOBD(R3_08) .... LOG(4 00 SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(YES).  Then rerun the upgrade GUI and after the "start failure" message appears check the QEZJOBLOG (or your default) outqueue for the SBMJOB process SAPSTART and SAPSTRSRV joblogs and see why these are not launching correctly.
Also should you run into the "Symbol o4_getpwnam (number xxx) not exported..." obscure error updating tp and retrans to current patch levels in the ECC5 (640) system took care of that issue for us.
HTH and best of luck with your upgrade(s) :>
    Scott

  • Failed to upgrade from ERP 6.0 EHP4 to EHP5

    Dear SAP Gurus,
we are running ERP 6.00 with EHP4 (HCM-component) based on Windows 2003
    SP2 X64 and SQL Server 2005 SP4 (64-bit).
We are using SAP Kernel Unicode 7.01 PL 133 (64-bit).
We intend to upgrade from EHP4 to EHP5.
Upon running SAPehpi, we encountered issue which stopped us from
    proceeding with the upgrade.
Case 1: Direct upgrade to 605
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message: The
    following combination is not supported (SAP_APPL 600, SAP_BASIS 701,
    SAP_ABA 701).
Case 2: Upgrade SAP_APPL component from 600 to 604 (due to the above
    error message)
The upgrade failed on PREP_INPUT/VERSCHK_INI with error message:
Release '701' of component SAP_BASIS is too new.
Case 3: upgrade via SAINT is not supported by SAP. When uploading the
Stack XML file, we got error saying that the stack is not supported.
Attached is the complete list of the current SP Level of Installed
    components.
Please advise on how we can perform the upgrade to EHP5.
    Many thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Denny

The thing is Solution Manager was able to produce the XML file during the previous upgrade to 604 (the one without SAP_APPL 604).
So how can it not be supported by SAP?
If it is not supported by SAP, how can I proceed from here?

  • Upgrading from XP to Vista with no recovery drive.

    Hello,
I plan to upgrade from XP to Vista. I have the whole 160 GB disk allocated to XP as a C drive. I have no problems in formatting it while changing to Vista.
The problem is that Lenovo gave no Vista DVD when I bought the laptop. Everything was given in the recovery partition which I formatted when I downgraded to XP. So how should I change back to Vista ?
Also I was browsing through the Lenovo Drivers website becoz I need Vista drivers once I install Vista onto the laptop. There are different versions of drivers available for my laptop's type-model, so how should I know that which one works best or which one was given in the factory installation from lenovo?

The simplest answer is to purchase the recovery cd if you were shipped with vista. The tech center can help with your purchase but they can order only what was originally shipped on the laptop. The cost is $45.00 plus s&h and local taxes.

  • Upgrade from ECC 6.0 with no EHP to EHP 7

    Hello,
We are planning an ERP upgrade from ECC 6.0, which has no enhancement package, to EHP 7.
Can this upgrade be done :
    1. Directly to EHP7
    OR
    2. Do we need to first upgrade to a lower EHP, for example - to EHP 5 or 6 first, and then to EHP 7?

  • R12.1 upgrade from 11.5.10CU2 with 11g

    Hi hsawwan,
I have some doubts about R12.1 upgrade process.
    1. If i have 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.8 as database then can i upgrade to R12.1 using RapidWiz and during database upgrade screen, directly upgrade from 9.2.0.8 to 11.1.0.6 or 11.1.0.7 database?
    2. If i have 11.5.10.2 with 11.1.0.7 as database then can i upgrade to R12.1 using RapidWiz or i have to do patchinf for it. Means to say that can i use RapidWiz for R12.1 upgrade from 11.5.10.2 with 11.1.0.7?
    3. What will be the best practice to reduce downtimwe for R12.1 upgrade ?
    Regards,
    Manas Prakash Gupta

    Hi hsawwan,
As pre-upgrade patching for 11.5.10.2 to R12.1 upgrade, i applied a patch 4582937 which is for PRE CONVERGENCE MIGRATION PATCH. There are some steps which are need to be performed after applying this patch. Below are the steps.
    1) Perform the data mapping for org and warehouse migration through the UI available in OPM System Administration.
    2) Run $GMA_TOP/patch/115/sql/GMAORGMG.sql as APPS user.
    3) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "ORGANIZATION" and rerun GMAORGMG.sql after fixing the errors.
    4) Run $GMA_TOP/patch/115/sql/GMAITSTP.sql as APPS user.
    5) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "PRE_ITEM_MIG_SETUP" and rerun GMAITSTP.sql after fixing the errors.
    6) Run $GMI_TOP/patch/115/sql/gmiitmin.sql as APPS user 7) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "ITEMS" and rerun gmiitmin.sql after fixing the errors.
I am not able to understand the first point (Perform the data mapping for org and warehouse migration through the UI available in OPM System Administration).
I logged into application and under OPM System Administration i didn't find anything related to mapping. Can you just tell me how to perform these steps (Specially the first one because in others we need to run scripts only).
    Thanx,
    Manas Prakash

  • Tip for upgrading from MBP to iMac with Leopard & Parallels Boot Camp

Here are some pointers based on my recent experience upgrading from a MacBook Pro to an iMac, under Leopard and with Parallels using a Boot Camp partition for Windows.
First, you do not need to create a Windows partition on your new computer. You will use Boot Camp Assistant to do that - it can dynamically resize your existing Mac OS X partition without destroying it. (I initially used Disk Utility to create a Windows partition but it wasn't recognised properly by Parallels and also the Mac wouldn't boot from it).
A great way to simplify getting your old installation across is to make a Time Machine backup onto an external drive. Yes, you could also use start up your old Mac in Target mode (hold down T key when you start it), then start the new Mac and copy your settings over. But in my case, the new iMac (a refurb) came with Tiger installed on it while my old Mac had already been upgraded to Leopard.
I started the new Mac using a Leopard install CD (holding down the C key while starting). Then I chose to restore from a Time Machine backup instead of installing from CD, and soon had a functioning Leopard installation on the new Mac. Well, almost.
Next I used Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition on the new drive. The old Mac's partition was only 10 GB in size, but I made the new one 31.9 GB in size (so I could stay under the Windows limit of 32 GB for FAT partitions). I then quit without installing Windows.
On the old Mac, I used an external drive formatted as FAT and used Disk Utility to 'restore' my Windows partition to the external drive. Next I plugged that drive into the new Mac, and restored the external Windows partition to the new Mac's Windows partition. So far, so good. However, Parallels would not start this installation of Windows, and the new Mac would not boot into it (holding down the Option key at start-up did not show me a Windows drive).
I tried doing a repair of the Windows installation using a Windows install disk but that did not work. What did work was the following: I booted from the Window install CD, then started a new installation. I asked Windows to format the Windows partition on the new Mac, then powered off the new Mac as soon as Windows started copying files. Next, I rebooted the new Mac into Mac OS X, started Disk Utility, and again did a restore of the Windows partition on the external drive to the Windows partition on the new Mac.
The final step was to reboot the new Mac into Windows directly so that I could load drivers from the Leopard install CD. [I haven't done that yet, so I'm not sure it's necessary].
    Hope this helps!

Sounds solid to me. If the Glyph was connected on a firewire port that is. This would free up the bandwith that way but actually it is hardly an issue with the Duet considering the limited inputs. But using the Glyph as a backup for your projects is good wise idea anyway.

    Dear Support,
I have purchased XCelsius Engade 2008, upgrade from Pro 4.5.
Our corporate standard is still MS Office XP on Windows XP and it won't be updated in a near future.
I can not install the product since it tells me that Office suit should be "pre-installed" first. And it is actually installed already.
I have tested the trial version before - and it was fine. It is written on the CD box that system requirements includes Office XP but it does not work. Please help ASAP!!!
    And just for the information:

you don't need to uninstall Xcelsius 4.5 - it's a separate product and you can install it back. I have both Xcelsius 4.5 and Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine. I am not sure why it does not recognize the Office on your machine, may be you need to upgrade your Office to a later version, I hope somebody else will have more information. May be this link will be helpful

    Hi,
i got problem, and i can't find any solution in sdn or other internet sources. I downloaded all the DVD's for the upgrade, and when i start from MASTER UPGRADE DVD, command: STARTUP jce_policy_zip=jce_policy_zip=<path to JCE policy archive>
    system gives me a message:
Checking if C++ runtime is installed ...
Running MIDBOOT to unpack and startup...
/usr/lib/pa20_64/dld.sl: Unable to find library 'ibnsl.1'.

I asked OS and Database administrators, should HP-UX system have any libraries that starts not from L character, they told me that there is an error in UPGRADE MASTER DVD
i tried find the solution in SAP notes or just google, but there is nothing for this problem. Can anyone help me please?

  • Upgrade from Solaris 8 SPARC with Sun cluster 3.1u3 to Solaris 10 SPARC

    Dear All,
We are planning an upgrade of the OS from Solaris 8 SPARC to Solaris 10 SPARC on a two-node active-standby clustered system.
The current major software we have on the Solaris 8 system are:
    1: Sun Cluster 3.1u3
    2: Oracle 9i 9.2.0.8
3: Veritas File System Vxfs v4.0
    4: Sun Solaris 8 2/04 SPARC
Any pointers as to what sequence and how the upgrade should be done?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ray

yes I know it can be quite complicated and complex, but Sun provided us with a detailed documentation, at least in our case Solaris 9 to 10 it was very helpful.
You might get better help in the cluster forum http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=842

One such feature that is absent from the Technical Preview is Windows Media Center, but some users have restored this feature by using the product key that they purchased for use in Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, this has created some issues for these users,
which has led Microsoft to caution against doing this.

  • Yosemite upgrade from Mavericks left me with a white screen.

i dont think the install completed And now my computer won't start up. It shows the apple icon and a progress bar and then just does nothing. I've turned it off and on a few time with the same result.
    Any ideas?

Try resetting the SMC. If that does not work, restore OS X from the recovery disk.

  • Anyone upgraded from 307 to 308 with success?

I am not able to get 308 working!! Help?
I made a Helloworld procedure and http://blabla/pls/portal30/helloworld works okay. Portal doesnot work 100%. I get a redirect to http://blabla/servlet/page?_pageid=49&_dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30&_mode=3&_ref=20010227183425
diag.sh is okay. Put portal doesnot work.
Is there a table in portal30 that I can modify?
    null

There are several issues with migration from 6.0 to 6.2...
    1) The biggest thing is the change in Identity server(5.0 to 6.1):
If you have a custom auth modules you will need to write a new one.
    2) The differences in templates are minor and
you will easy find them by debugging JSPs.
    3) Since portal6.2 supports both JSR168 and 6.0 API
You will be able to import your 6.0 providers and channels.
However some package names has been changed
from ".iplanet." to ".sun." and you might need to recompile
your classes(e.g. if you used IdentityAPI).
    Cheers,
    Alex :-)
