Upgrade from support stack 12 to support stack 17

Currently I am on a client that has support stack 12 and needs to upgrade to support stack 17.  My only question is what are dependencies that will be needed to be able to upgrade to 12 to 17, because I know this will not be a easy move.  Any knowledge would help on this issue.  Thanks!

just visit http://service.sap.com/rkt-Solman
select your solman version like 7.0, opt for section 'Technology consultants and System Administrators' and then technology configuration learning map
there you will find two sim files for the usage of Mopz in solman, simple usage and normal usage
and refer this SDN guide

  • Upgrade from SP Stack 13 to 16

    Hi,
We upgrade our production system from SP stack 13 to Stack 16, we run the SGEN after up gradation of stack, the whole process is completed successfully, but some of the screens are changed after up gradation.
For example, in T code F-02 the cost center option is appear after the upgrade.
Is up gradation cause any inconsistency in the system, if yes how I revert back the system to original i.e. SP stack 13 level?
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
Usually for an stack update you should schedule a full test including all funtional areas to ensure that all your critical transactions work the way they should... this is usually done im more that 2 days, i'll say even 2 months.... anyhow...
I'll put your ABAP developers to correct the and test the problem in DEV, QA... ASAP!
DB restore is always your last resourse at your PRD system... and i presume your system is been use at the moment, i think your best shot is wait until the corrections are in place in QA and then just transport them into PRD.

Could you please Provide certain Basic links to Start of with it? As of now its totally new CONCEPT to start with in coming time for us.
We have skill set avilable in ABAP developemnt,PI,Worklfows and other ABAP object but not so far in BRF+ concept.
If any Tutorails are avaialble then please share across.
PS: I have not been able to Procure " SAP Press Book Availability (BRFplus - Business Rule Management for ABAP Applications)"
    Thanks a lot.

    Vishal

Read the papers etc on the Business Rule Framework plus.
Especially take a look at the online training. But be careful with papers for NW 701. This is an old version and you may find stuff in there that is not relevant for you as you are on a much higher release.
There is also a paper that explains how BRFplus can be used in combination with SAP Business Workflow.
Why can't you get the BRFplus book? On the SAP Press page there is also an online version´

  • Supported Tools version when upgrading from PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 to 9.2

    Hello,
Our customer is on HCM 9.1 FP2 with 8.52.03 tools. Now, they would like to upgrade to HCM 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.53
I have found the following upgrade path on Oracle Support.
PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.1 to 9.2 Upgrade Home Page (Doc ID 1536201.1)
The document gave the following path certification
    From Release
    To Release
    Microsoft SQL Server
    Oracle
    Application:
    HCM 9.1*
    PeopleTools:
PeopleTools 8.4x or higher 8.4x.xx patch level
    Application:
    HCM 9.2
    PeopleTools:
PeopleTools 8.53.02 or higher 8.53.xx patch level
    Certified
    Certified
Does it mean, the template can not be used with 9.1 application on 8.5x tools?
Will we be able to use the same Upgrade Template to upgrade from HCM 9.1/8.52.03 to HCM 9.2/8.53.xx ?
    Thanks
    Hareesh

    Yes,
    1. You perform Tools upgrade to 8.53.xx
    2. Then perform Application only upgrade from 9.1 to 9.2

  • PI system upgrade from 7.1 to 7.4 dual stack

    Hi,
We want to upgrade PI system to 7.4 .currently we are using PI 7.1 system (dual stack)and want to go for 7.4 dual stack.
which one single stack or dual stack is the best approach and what are the impacts normally see when upgrading  to newer version.
We are planning to install 7.4 freshly recomonded by SAP .
We need to migrate objects from older system to newer system?
I want to know the process from basis perspective also .
Import/export or migrate is the best way to move objects from older sytem to newer system.
Please suggest me any links about the process including basis point of view also suggestions for the approach.
    thanks,
    aman

    >>>> which one single stack or dual stack is the best approach and what are the impacts normally see when upgrading  to newer version.
I would prefer single stack considering the SAP's future road map but of course it depends on how much effort your company is ready to spend. Incase you have lot of CCBPM's then you'll have to redesign them using Netweaver BPM if you go with single stack.
As are going with fresh installation(migration) of dual stack then you don't need to invest much.
    >>>  We are planning to install 7.4 freshly recomonded by SAP .
We need to migrate objects from older system to newer system?
I want to know the process from basis perspective also .
There is wizard using which you can move the directory objects ( classical scenario's to Integrated configurations). Please use it for ID objects
Refer to the below blog for more details. (ignore blog's title. it's applicable for dual stack-> dual stack too)
Moving Integration Directory Artifacts from dual stack to single stack
For ESR you can simply export and import the tpz file.
    >>> I want to know the process from basis perspective also .
They can simply follow the installation guide and execute the post installation steps properly.

  • LDAP synch not supported during OIM upgrade from 9.x to 11g

    Hi Experts,
Following line is mentioned in OIM upgrade guide for 9.x to 11g (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/upgrade.1111/e10129/upgrade_oim.htm)
“LDAP Sync is not supported when you upgrade from Oracle Identity Management 9.1 to Oracle Identity Management 11g”
Please help me in understanding the above line.
I have a pretty simple setup of OIM (version 9.1.0.2) with AD and Exchange connected. I guess I don't have any impact of above line.
LDAP synch is required when we integrate oracle identity manager with oracle access manager.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    M S

Yes LDAP Sync has most of the features when you have OIM and OAM integrated with each other. You can go ahead with upgrade if LDAP Sync is not part of your requirement.

  • I keep getting my browser is no longer supported. how can I upgrade from mac os x 10.6.8

I keep getting my browser is no longer supported. how can I upgrade from mac os x 10.6.8 . Any help would be appreciated

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

I might suggest test running in Resin from Caucho (www.caucho.com)

    installs

    Hi,
the Intel Core Duo processor is a 32-bit only processor and not capable of 64-bit.
Only the Core 2 Duo and later processors are capable of 64-bit.
    Sorry
    Stefan

I am upgrading from Tiger to SL in a MCBPro with 2 gb ram and an intel chip and I get the following notice:  Installation failed.... THE INSTALLER COULD NOT COPY THE NCESSARY SUPPORT FILES. Any help is appreciated...

Yes.   I've found that works best.  Especially if the drive is external, since external connections are typically slower, and Spotlight loves to eat up space going back and forth.   Time Machine will eat up as much space as it can, and typically needs drives at least twice the size of the original hard drive that is being backed up, if being backed up in full.   So unfortunately there is a lot of empty space that is needed for smooth operation.

  • Upgrade from SCM 5.0 to SCM 7.0 without Java Stack

    Hello,
My query is we have a SCM 5.0 system which has a java stack in it. But now we are going to upgrade it to SCM 7.0. - Is SCM 7.0 has a java stack ?
If it doesn't have , can we upgrade SCM 5.0 to SCM 7.0 without Java Stack ? Is it posssible to upgrade without Java Stack or not ?
Is it possible that we can convert Java Stuff into ABAP web dyn pro ? If yes , how shall we can achieve it ? If not, how shall we proceed in an alternate way ?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Madhu

    Hi Manoj,
Yes the system is running okay and I can login without problem. The question I have is that the upgrade program started with default system number 00 loaded, where I don't know how to change it to match our system setting. Our system is currently having system number 01.
    Thanks,
    Eric
