Upgrade from windows version to mac
Can I upgrade from elements 7 for windows to elements 13 for Mac? I have a OS X 10.9.4
Yes, it doesn't matter which platform the old version was on when it comes to upgrade pricing.

Upgrading from windows version to Mac
I have Creative Suites 5.5 Master Collection and would like to get the Mac version. How do I go about switching?
You have to order CS6 and make the switch. Platform swaps only apply to the latest current version (outside of CC, that is).

Upgrade from Windows version to a Mac Version?
All,
I started on Director over 10 years ago but it all died off.
Seems it has rekindled a bit with version 12?
My license (still have the box, CD's and license keys) are for Windows.
If/When I upgrade, can I specify a MAC license so I can develop for the iPad?
Or are you going to make me buy a full version?ooh. Found the answer. Apparently I can

Upgrade from PC version to Mac
I have PC version of LR4. I want to upgrade, but now i have Macbook as well and want to load on laptop as well.
how do i go about this???Do this in two distinct steps, making sure that each step is working properly before you move on to the next step.
Move to Lightroom 4 on the Mac; download the 30-day trial of Lightroom 4.4 for the Mac, install it, and then move everything to the Mac. http://members.lightroomqueen.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1165/187/how-do-i- move-my-catalog-photos-and-other-lightroom-files-to-a-new-computer
Once that is working properly, upgrade to Lightroom 5.2 -
Just upgraded from windows cs3 to mac cs4 - preferences, fonts, etc to cs4?
could someone explain how to make the mac CS4 work like the windows CS3 - thanks in advance
"... the first step should probably be to save and transfer any customized
presets like Brushes, Gradients, Patterns, Styles, Actions, … to the
new machine and store them in the appropriate Presets-folders."
I did exactly that, and the only trouble I had was that some of my older brushes no longer worked. When I moved from CS3 to CS 4 it was in both formats, and I literally use the same brushes, custom shapes, gradients, and actions in OS X and Windows Vista. The only difference between the two is that on the Mac, my brush list (about 900 or so) loads in a single scrolable column. In Windows, it loads in row after row until it runs out of screen about the time it gets to the M's and I have to manually load anything beyond that. Which is why I prefer to do my photoshopping on the Mac. -
Upgrade a Windows product to Mac?
Hey there,
in September 2012 I will start my apprenticeship as a digital media designer. I'm sure, that I will need the Adobe Crative Suite CS 6 Student & Teacher Version to do my work at home.
At the moment I have an Windows 7 computer and, like I said, my apprenticeship starts this year.. So, I will buy an Windows - Version of the Creative Suite CS6 ...
Later, I guess in 2 years, if I had save enough money, I would like to buy a Apple iMac... But, of course, I don't want to buy the same Creative Suite CS6 for Mac OS again..
Is it possible, to upgrade from Windows to Mac without buying the whole programm again?
Thanks for answering.
-- Sorry for my english, I come from GermanyOrder an Adobe product platform swap or language swap
It's mostly irrelevant for you, though. As long as you are entitled to edu pricing and want to take advantage of it, you do not get any upgrades. You simply buy a new version for your student discount or upgrade to the normal commercial version, which in terms of cost is pretty much the same. And if you're really that worried, jsut go Creative Cloud. Cloud users can migrate platforms at the click of a button...

Officejet 8620, fail to print, windows 8.1 (upgraded from windows 8)
I have spent many hours trying to resolve an issue on a Dell Vostro laptop, that was upgraded from Windows 8 pro to Windows 8.1 pro and has the latest updates installed. When printing, the print is delivered to the print spooler, it is there momentarily, then disappears. Nothing is delivered to the printer, and no activity is observed at all on the printer. This is on 2 different 8620 printers. I am able to install and print to a laserjet M1217mfp from the laptop with no problems. A different machine that was loaded directly with windows 8.1 prints perfectly to the 8620 printers.
I have tried the following with no success:
1) Install from original HP 8620 installation CD
2) HP Print and scan doctor - remove the print driver and download latest software . ( 3 times)
3) Manually deleting all printers, Stop spooler service, delete print driver from Print Server Properties, uninstall all HP software, reboot and install from latest print driver OJ8620-198 downloaded from this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL51217/bi-124140-4/OJ8620_198.exe
4) Same procedure as step 3, including stop spooler, rename C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3.old. Reboot and install from latest driver as above.
5) Run level 4 on HP Officejet Software and Driver Removal Utility from the link below and reinstall : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=za&lc=en&softwareitem=mp-110134-1
6) Same procedure as step 4, as well as removing printer registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Print Processors except "winprint" key. Delete all HP folders in C:\Program Files\HP. Reboot and reinstall latest driver.
7) Follow the manual procedure described in Microsoft KB2987964 "Cannot print by using a Hewlett Packard XPS-based print driver after you install KB2769165" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2987964 Version of hpbxpsrender.dll is 0.3.7600.16385 consistently through all of the steps listed.
9) Create a new local administrator account on the laptop. Follow the procedure in Step 6.
The issue seems to be that the spooler discards the print immediately and it also seems to be related to the upgrade from windows 8 to Windows 8.1 but only for Officejet Printers. The only option I have not tried yet is to format and reload the machine with Windows 8.1 Pro, but this is a drastic step to resolve a problem that should be resolved by HP based on the many reports posted on the Internet by users experiencing this issue on OfficeJet printers.
What can be done to resolve this?Hi @Electronza ,
Thank you for providing all the detailed steps you have already tried to resolve this issue. I would like to help you out today.
I have provided a document with some steps for the Print Jobs Disappear from the Print Queue and Do Not Print (Windows 8). Go to Step 4: Rename the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file, since you have already tried the other steps.
Please take a look at this document from my co-worker, if the issue persists. The driver installed might be the Class Driver and not the HP Full Feature drivers. Missing or partial print issues on Windows 8 / 8.1.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
Have a great weekend!
Thank You.

Upgrade from Windows Home Server 2011
Even though Windows Server 2012 Essentials is being mentioned as a replacement for Windows Home Server 2011, there doesn't seem to be any documentation or mention of can you upgrade from Windows Home Server 2011 to Windows Server 2012 Essentials?
Will this work with the beta download and will we then be able to upgrade this version to the RC and/or release version?
As you may guess I have a Windows Home Server 2011 and am interested in looking at Windows Server 2012 Essentials to see what it offers me. The storage spaces sounds exactly what I want to replace the drive extender on the previous home server version. The
problem is that I don't mind sacrificing my present server box by installing the beta but it would be nice if it actually retained what settings it could via an upgrade option, which I could then have a chance of using with a proper release version.
Just clarifying about the 'upgrade path' and 32b vs 64b.
Yes, no in-place upgrade. However, one could theorise about some form of 'migration' being possible, where the list of users, the content of your shares, the current backups, would be 'moved' from old box to new.
I was in fact pretty sure no such process existed. (Wouldn't it be neat though? AND in future _at least theoretically_ possible, using processes similar to SBS AD migration.)
From this perspective putting the new box onto the network is similar to replacing WHSv1 with WHS11, in that nothing is carried over. No gain, but no lesser. Working on currently available information.
The later comment about the work laptop is, TTBOMK, a resounding 'NO'. When attempting to join a member of another AD the 'connect' process stated 'You must 1st remove the PC from the other AD'. I haven't tested this extensively but believe that PC's _capable_
of operating in an AD (Pro, vs Home, versions) will be made members of the WS12E AD. It is only PC's that do not have 'domain join' capability that are left in workgroup mode.
TTBOMK, AFAICS, so far, etc... -
How do I restore a Windows 8.1 system image if I upgraded from Windows 8?
I have a new HP Envy TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC 15-j003cl.
It came with Windows 8 which I upgraded to Windows 8.1.
I created the HP Recovery USB flash drive.
From my reading I understand that the recovery USB flash drive is Windows 8 not 8.1.
My question is:
Can I restore a Windows 8.1 System Image Backup I made on a USB hard drive using the Windows 8 recovery USB flash drive?
Or, to put it another way, what is the recommended procedure to back up an upgraded Windows 8.1 computer so, in the event of hard-drive failure, I don't have to start with Windows 8, upgraded to 8.1, re-install all my apps?
Thanks
KirkOK here's where I am now and a few followup questions,
Started with Windows 8.
Upgraded from Windows Store to Windows 8.1
Installed lots of apps and got everything running the way I like.
I created a full system image of my upgraded 8.1 hard drive to an external USB hard drive.
I have successfully created a recovery boot USB flash. (did not copy recovery partition) I can restart the computer from
it and navigate up to the point where it will restore my system image made after I upgraded to 8.1. (I don't want to risk
trying it for fear it will mess up my computer)
Assume my hard drive failed and I have a new blank hard drive:
My question is at this point does it matter that this was originally a windows 8 (not 8.1) computer?
Will I be able to restore the image of 8.1?
Does it matter which version of Windows I created the recovery boot USB flash on? ( I can't tell when it boots from the
recovery USB flash if it is running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
I wish there was a way to test this without risking losing all the work I have done to configure the computer??
Thanks,
Kirk -
when trying to upgrade from windows 7 SP1 to 8.1 pro from the DVD while being in windows I only get an option to keep personal files only or keep nothing.
what do I have to do so I can do a upgrade and keep all the programs too ?
thanks!
Brandon DillonI think there might be a way that when you install win 8.1 on a system with existing windows it will copy the user profile to a spare partition and then format the C and the then install windows 8
If you do a rebuild on a Win 7 or Win 8 PC from a recovery partition, the software as standard now on the rebuild gives you the options of keeping your Data, even though it will wipe and reinstall everything as per factory settings.
So this is normal and to be expected.
To be honest I wouldn't even do this... I'd backup everything, install Win 8.1 from complete scratch, not keeping any data and then restore data as I needed it. I am apprehensive about it thinking it knows where all my data might be.... especially with how
some programs like to store stuff.
Of course this means everything to install again, but latest versions always good, a clean install -

Windows 7 32-bit Upgraded from Windows Vista
Hello Everyone
I have a Satellite A500-15M, with a Windows 7 32-bit running on it which was upgraded from Windows Vista 32-bit by an upgrade DVD from Toshiba sent to me in January.
I need to have my Windows 7 as 64-bit instead of 32-bit. I have been searching on the internet about this matter, and I have discovered that I cannot do this unless I have a fresh copy of Windows, but the only disks that I have are the Windows Vista RECOVERY DVDs, and the Windows 7 Upgrade DVD.
Is it possible to have a fresh copy of Windows Vista 64-bit from my Revocery DVDs, then upgrade to Windows 7? Or do I need a Windows 64-Bit DVD?
I really appreciate your cooperation.
Kind Regards,
Ala'Hello
According notebook specification your notebook was delivered with Vista 32bit and 64bit dual boot.
If you have created recovery discs it will be interesting to know how many DVD disc you have.
For instance on my Satellite A500-157 I have 4 DVD discs. With other words I have recovery discs for 32 and 64bit Vista. When you start first DVD you will be asked which version you want to install.
Please check if this works with your recovery discs too.
If you have this option install Vista 64bit on your notebook and later use upgrade DVD and try to upgrade it to Win7 64bit.
Please test it and let me know if this works for you.
Depending on your answer we will search next solution for you.
