Unicode error while upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6.0

Hello all,
I am upgrading our SAP from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. while doing so we had folllowing error in the adjoinig statement of Search.
Error : Table I_VBLS must have a character line type (data type C,N,D,T or string)
Statement :
W_TMP10 = I_VBLS-VBELN.
SEARCH I_VBLS[] FOR W_TMP10 STARTING AT 1
IF SY-SUBRC NE 0.
   EXIT.
ENDIF.
Now I tried to remove this error by putting a loop on internal table I_VBLS and inside it concatenating the header line with a Field symbol and after that to a string variable. Then I used SEARCH statement for the same string. but unfortunately this is changing the functionality of the program by large extent. Does anybody know the exact code snippet to replace search Internal Table

R/3 upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and BW upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0

Is there a reason to upgrade Solution Manager from 3.2 to 4.0 when upgrading R/3 from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and BW upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0?
And when in current situation Unicode UTF8 is used, could that give problems during / after the upgrade?

Hello ALex,
There is not a must to upgrade also your solman 3.2 when you upgrade your satellites, only consider if you need the solman diagnostic or not and also that the new functionality in solman 4.0.
Which system is unicode, the satellite?
There is also not problems having a non-unicode solman with unicode satellites and the other, having a unicode-solman "linked" to unicode-satellites.

Technical Upgrade from 4.6c to Ecc 6.0

Hello All.
We have upgraded the system from 4.6c to ECC 6.0.
We have got SPAU list and Unicode(UCCCHECK) program list.We have shortage of time to resolve both the list.
I have few questions.
1) Do we need to resolve UCCCHECK list first or SPAU list.
2) How we can modify programs,tables in SPAU list.
Could you please give Some step by step need to perform in SPAU list.
3)How we can convert UCCCHEK list
Could you please give STEP by STEP procedure and transaction code.

1.We need to make Technical upgrade in HR from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 with OM,PA, -ve Time,Payroll, Recruitment (other Modules also upgraded).Kindly let us know what will haeepen for the following .

Basically there needs to be a Transport established between 4.7 and ECC6.00 Version . You can create Transport request for those tables whose value remain same in 4.7 nad ECC6.00 But for tables having changes you need to create the Configuration.
1 more method applied by organization is a client copy of tables.

Problem regarding offset length while upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6.0

We are upgrading our system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0, during the this I have come across one problem in custom program. Program is not syntactically correct. It's giving error at write statment. WRITE : W_LFA1 +3(1429) to T_FILE. W_LFA1 is having of type LFA1. Error is "The sum of the offset and length (=1432) exceeds the length of the start (=1232) of the structure." Can anyone guide me in this.

Try to replace your write statement by WRITE : W_LFA1 3(1429) to T_FILE and see.

ISU upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 (CIC)

Hello there
We are currently going for an upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0
Can anyone of you provide some insight on whether the frontoffice and other configuration in 4.6C have any kind of impact on ECC 6.0? Basically I can see that there are new functionalities in ECC6.0 for CIC . But will the current config lin 4.6C like action box , move in/out processes, owner allocation etc will be impacted after the upgrade?

We are also planning to upgrade this month from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. It would be very nicce if we can share the information and the experineces.
We will do the upgrade in a pilot system.
We will have a new hardware with windows server 2003 64 bit and oracle oracle 10.2.0.2.0. than we will install oracle and SAP 4.6C and after that we want to export the Database from the production system to the pilot system. after that we upgrade the pilot system to ECC 6.0 to test first.
I do not know if there is an easyer way to do the upgrade or at least the test. Maybe a homogenouse system copy...?

there are several oss-notes available which explain how to transfer your text customizing to the new procedure. This happens if you are uppgrading from a release 4.6c or lower. If you are already in 4.7, there should be no problem with text determination.

this is good question, why because sap upgrades from 4.6b to ecc 6.0 is very risky.
take one example , in 4.5b , me21n application having 620 screen where as in ecc 6.0 having 9000 screen . that time we will take care of it.
check the obsolete function modules , 4.5b , having ws_upload, ws_download.... use cl_gui_frontend_services , under these having differnt type of methods.
once you change the code in ecc , go to tranx : SLIN check the error where it is exact.

Error during Upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0

We are facing an error when upgrading from 4.6c to ECC 6.0. We are facing this error on the table COEP - runtime object inconsistancy. What we found is there is ERP upgrade has created new extra fields in the table. In log file the error is specified as : Duplicate Field name, But we not able to find the duplicate field name in the table. Please kindly help as early as possible. The upgrade process is stuck.

Top-Down Distribution - tcode KE28 (release upgrade from 4.6 to ECC 6.0)

All,
we are performing a release upgrade from 4.6 to ECC 6.0 and we have a problem with the tcode KE28.
The variant already set up in the system don't match with the selection fields present in the screen, and the following message is shown:
Message no. KG346
The variant does not adhere to the current Customizing setup
We have saved the variant again, and no problem are present, but the error message refers also to Customizing setup.
Is there a section in the Customizing where it is possible set up the field to show in the initial screen or the new fields (All Valuation Views, Legal Valuation View and Profit Center Valuation View) are due to the release upgrade?
If yes, do you know the transaction/path?

Asset query execution performance after upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0+EHP4

Hi,guys
I am encounted a weird problems about asset query execution performance after upgrade to ECC 6.0.
Our client had migrated sap system from 4.6c to ECC 6.0. We test all transaction code and related stand report and query.
Everything is working normally except this asset depreciation query report. It is created based on ANLP, ANLZ, ANLA, ANLB, ANLC table; there is also some ABAP code for additional field.
This report execution costed about 6 minutes in 4.6C system; however it will take 25 minutes in ECC 6.0 with same selection parameter.
At first, I am trying to find some difference in table index ,structure between 4.6c and ECC 6.0,but there is no difference about it.
i am wondering why the other query reports is running normally but only this report running with too long time execution dump messages even though we do not make any changes for it.

I executed se30 for this query (SQ01) at both 4.6C and ECC 6.0.
I find there is some difference in select sequence logic even though same query without any changes.

We can see first open cursor ANLP ,fetch ANLP then select ANLC,ANLA,ANLZ,ANLB at 4.C.
But it changed to first select ANLA,and open cursor ANLP,then select ANLC,ANLB,ANLZ,at last fetch ANLP.
Probably,it is the real reason why it is running long time in ECC 6.0.
Is there any changes for query selcection logic(table join function) in ECC 6.0.

Upgrade GAP Analysis from 4.7 to ECC 6.0
