Upgrade grdi infrastructure 11.2.0.1

Hello gurus.
I have Grid Infrastructure version 11.2.0.1 with ASM running on linux vm and 3 stand alone databases version 11.2.0.1.
I need to know if it's possible to upgrade both Grid Infrastructure and databases to version 11.2.0.3. I researched and did no find an answer.
Thanks,

  • Upgrade Prime Infrastructure v1.2

    Hello Support Community,
I want to upgarde my Prime Infrastructure which is in version 1.2 to a newer version (1.4 or 2.0) to be compatible with the version 7.5.102.0 of the contoller WLC.
Which version should I choose for the Prime infrastructure v1.4 or 2.0?
is there a cost for this upgrade?
I found some documentation on this topic but I need your help to clarify this point.
Thanks in advance for your response.
    Best regards

Yes.... PI 1.2 was not great and upgrading has caused many issues.... you can search the forum on that.  I always stand up a new VM and just export and import the floor maps and rehost the license.  The matrix shows you what WLC code that PI supports and what AP's PI supports.  You need to understand that as you might choose either PI 1.4.1 or PI 2.0.  PI 2.0 was built around converged access so since you have a Unified WLC, you should go with PI 1.4 and patch that to PI 1.4.1.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Upgrading prime infrastructure 2.1.0.0.78 - 2.1 cannot do app backup

    Hi All
Trying to do an upgrade prime 2.1.0.0.78  to prime 2.2.
I have saved an app backup off the exisitng prime 2.1.0.0.78
However when i try to restore to the new prime infra 2.2
with the backup from the 2.1.0.0.78 it fails with a database error
My technical support say i should change the new vm server
to match ip addresses etc with the old one but that cant be right
as this is the official blurb for the types of backups ...
Application backups: These contain all Prime Infrastructure application data, but do not include host-specific settings, such as the server hostname and IP address. Application backups are intended for use when Prime Infrastructure is running as an OVA on customer-supplied hardware, as restoring from the backup may need to be to a server with completely different host settings.
Appliance backups: These contain all application data and host-specific settings, including the hostname, IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway. Appliance backups are intended for use when Prime Infrastructure is running on a Cisco-supplied appliance, and restoration is most likely to be to a server with the same host settings.
I am obviously using the application backups

  • Upgradding Prime Infrastructure version 1.2 and LMS 4.x to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0

    Hello,
A customer currently have 2,500 Cisco Prime Infrastructure Lifecycle device license using Prime Infrastructure version 1.2 and LMS 4.x. the customer wants to upgrade to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0.
Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade to version 2.0 without additional cost? the licenses from
Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 has to be upgraded or we need only to rehost the VUDI.
Also could be possible to upgrade LMS 4.x to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0?
    thanks!

The two features you mention are two big missing ones. Another is full syslog capability. I don't believe CiscoView or day one support via package updates is included either.
Another is less tangible - the depth of experience and documentation available for LMS vs. Prime Infrastructure (particularly the wired management features). I agree for wireless PI 2.0 looks good. Some new features are coming for wired that look promising but they are new as of PI 2.0 so I'm taking a wait and see on them.
I hope to get 2.0 up in my lab in the next week or so and will hope to be pleasantly surprised but that's seldom the case with a major new release.

  • 9.0.4 OID Upgrade Assistant - Infrastructure  install ora-00911

    Hi,
upgrading from 9.0.2 to 9.0.4 on windows server.
Configuration assistant failed on Internet Directory Upgrade Assistant
    output:
    Non-SSL port:4032
    4031
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00911:invalid character
My upgrade is sitting here going nowhere and my searches have not yielded an answer - any assistance would be very much appreciated
    Thx, Pat

    Hi Mojo,
There is no direct upgrade path fro 9.0.4 to 11g as you have OID involved so that latest being 11.1.1.7.0.
In order to upgrade Oracle Application Server to 11g the first step is to upgrade the 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.3 which is a manadatory prerequisite.
So in-order to get Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 you need to create an SR with Shipment team as 10.1.2.0.2 is de-supported since Jan 1st 2012 and the download the path "5983622" to upgrade
10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3.Once the upgrade is successfull then you need to proceed to to 11g upgrade.
Also there are some limitations of using Application Server 10.1.2.3 on DB 11gR2 for which please review the note:887365.1 "Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Certification for Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2, 10.1.3, 10.1.4)"

  • Upgrade Ironport C170 to version 8.0.1-023

Hi, my environment has 01 C170 box with the version 7.5.1-102 and I bought 01 C380 to upgrade the infrastructure.
My question is, in order to I get the successful upgrade I have to upgrade the version from C170 to the same C380.
The C380 came with the release 8.0.1-023.
My question is: Does The C170 support upgrade till this version? How many upgrades I have to do to reach the version 8.0.1-023?
How is the best way to make a cluster with these 02 boxes?
    Thank you.

Yes - the C170 can upgrade to 8.0.1-023.  Upgrade path would be:
    phoebe-7-5-1-102 --> phoebe-7-6-1-022 --> phoebe-8-0-1-023
The best way to cluster... the C380 should have the 'clusterconfig' command active, and you can request the license from our Global Licensing Operations for the C170, they should be able to provide a temp license, or full license...
Please contact our Global Licensing Operations team:

Phone: 1-800-553-2447, opt 3 (You may request to have a case opened for GLO/Licensing.)
Their email directly is: [email protected]
    I hope this helps!

  • Upgrade from 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.4.0.1 issues

I recently upgraded our Infrastructure and Metadata Repository from 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.4.0.1. After the upgrade, everything seemed to be working properly including our mid-tier server which was SSL and SSO enabled. When viewing the EM Application Server Control, everything appears to be up and running including the HTTP_Server, DAS, DIP, LDAP, OC4J_SECURITY and Management containers. However, the Single Sign-On:orasso container is down. I am still able to get to /pls/orasso and /oiddas and logon using SSO, and I can still login to my applications using SSO. What is the deal with this container?
Also, when I click on the Administration link for HTTP_Server and then look at the PL/SQL Properties, there are no DADs listed at all? Is there a new way of doing these in the 10.1.4 version? I would think I should at least see the /pls/orasso DAD listed.
Also, when on the home page of the Application Server Control, the version is displayed as:
    Version 10.1.2.0.2
However, the Oracle Home is displayed as:
    Oracle Home d:\oracle\orahome2
which is our new 10.1.4 installation.
I also ran the following query as suggested in the "Quick Upgrade Guide"
    SELECT comp_id,version,status FROM APP_REGISTRY;
    COMP_ID          VERSION          STATUS
    WORKFLOW     10.1.2.0.0          VALID
    SYNDICATION     10.1.2.0.0          VALID

    OID               10.1.4.0.1          VALID
    DCM               10.1.2.0.0          VALID
    DISCOVERER     10.1.2.0.0          VALID
    WCS               10.1.2.0.0          VALID
    UDDI               10.1.2.0.0          VALID

  • Best Practices for Upgrade UCS firmware from 2.0 to 2.2?

    Hi
I have Cisco UCS system ( 2 FI, 4 Chassis with 32 Server ) running 2.0 firmware. Now I want upgrade to 2.2. When I check document "Upgrading Cisco UCS from Release 2.0 to Release 2.2", I see have 2 solution:
    - 1. Upgrading from Release 2.0 with Auto Install -> Step simple but all server reboot at same time.
    - 2. Manually Upgrading from Release 2.0. -> Step more complex but can upgrade server one by one.
    My question:
    - Can I "Upgrade the infrastructure firmware with Auto Intall but upgrade Server with Manual"?
    - What is best for my case?
    Thanks

    Hi Phamcongtuan,
In UCS you can create host firmware policy that can be used to upgrade the firmware of your blades.  Once you upgrade the infrastructure firmware, you can apply the host firmware policy to the service profiles of your blades.  If you are using service profiles templates you will need to unbind the service profiles and apply the policy to the individual servers.

  • Upgrade 11.2 to 11.2.0.2 out of place

    Hi
Im trying to upgrade from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.2 is the following bug fix needed ? Im not doing the in place upgrade.. Im doing out of place upgrade?
    – Patch the release 11.2.0.1 Oracle Grid Infrastructure home with the 9413827 and 9706490 patches."
Bug 10036834 Linux Platforms: Patches not found upgrading Grid Infrastructure from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2

    Hi,
    To clarify:
To upgrade existing 11.2.0.1 Oracle Grid Infrastructure installations to Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2, you must first do at least one of the following:
        *      Patch the release 11.2.0.1 Oracle Grid Infrastructure home with the 9413827 and 9706490 patches.
        *      Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure Patch Set 1 (GI PSU1) or Oracle Grid Infrastructure Patch Set 2 (GI PSU2).
Oracle Clusterware and Oracle ASM upgrades are always out-of-place upgrades. With 11g release 2 (11.2), you cannot perform an in-place upgrade of Oracle Clusterware and Oracle ASM to existing homes.source: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e17212/procstop.htm#BABEIBEE
    Hope this helps.

  • After upgraded to MPLS backbone -- urgent !!!!!!!!

After my ISP upgrade their backbone to MPLS we have a internet brower issue wide across my LAN. Some PCs can not brower internet, but some PCs in the same segment can!!!
I do a NAM trace found a HTTP error
" IP packet size limited during capture: HTTP truncated".
Later we tried decrease local pc MTU to 500 it works, they can brower the site which do not open previouly. But still the problems is some PCs local MTU setting is 1300 is working fine ???!!
I really confused?? Is it a MPLS issue or it is my local router setting? Since I have not make any change on my site recently?
    Need your help.
    Thanks

When there are MTU issues, the reason why some machines will have access and not others are severals.
    - The OS version: newer OSes have the tcp pmtu discovery on by default
    - The best way to do a test for MTU issues is with pings and the DF bit set up (with the -f in Windows or "-M do" in *nix)
You can use the "ip tcp adjust-mss " but me, as a customer, would not accept it.
There are numerous discussions and examples on why not to accept MTU < 1500 for an enterprise. Most people can live with micro MTUs and most of us do (i.e. in our broadband connections).
Each time you have to encapsulate your traffic (i.e. MPLS, GRE, IPSec, L2TP) you will be forced to reduce the effective MTU. Now, if you, as an enterprise, have an MTU < 1500, you will start subtracting from it and the smaller the MTU the grater the overhead in bulk transfers. It is quite complicated to explain, but you will be experiencing and effective bandwidth loss for your bulk transmissions. (See NANOG discussions in this issue as well as numerous reports in ACM/IEEE Transaction of Networking)
Finally, since not all third party devices support the MSS adjustment, the carrier will be forcing some customer to upgrade their infrastructure. Not everyone will have the means to upgrade their infrastructure because the carrier decides to change something.
Hope this give you some ideas.

  • Portal down after upgrade from 10.1.2.2 to 10.1.2.3

    Hi Folks,
The weekend we upgraded the infrastructure/mid-tier from 10.1.2.2 to 10.1.2.3 and did the same for the metadata repository. We noticed since then portal is down though OC4J_Portal is up. Any idea how the upgrade would cause this and how to fix it?
    Thanks
    Troy

    Hi Erik,
I checked the metalink note you recommended and sure enough my PortalListeniongHostPort and HTTPPort did not match. I changed them and added the root certificate in b64InternetCertificate.txt and it now shows as up. Thank you so much for referring me to that document. It is greatly appreciated.

  • Updated Distribution service infrastructure

Yesterday at 3:20PM PDT we flipped the switch to enable our new configuration for the distribution service. This effort involved several months of scoping, testing and rehearsing to ensure a smooth transition and the establishment of an environment that we believe will provide a significant performance boost for publishing and fulfilling content to consumers.
A grand total of 18 packets were lost in the transition and we have already heard of significantly faster publishing efforts. Folios that used to take over an hour to publish are now finishing in under 10 minutes. We are now feeding data to Akamai at 10x the speed we could in the past. This means that fewer users should be seeing timeout issues in their libarary and increased reliability of background downloads via iOS Newsstand, when publishers push new content live.
Adobe is firmly committed to the business of digital publishing and our primary goal is increasing customer satisfaction with DPS. Yesterday's rollout was the first of several high priority efforts under way to increase the horsepower that drives the internal machinery of DPS.
Please let me know if you encounter any stability issues and expect more great improvements in the upcoming months.

real great stuff and well done.
we are publishing daily issues, in the wortst case it took more than 30 minutes to put a publication with 40 articles online (portrait & landscape). the average duration was around 18 minutes 30 seconds and today we
completed the publication process in incredible 4 minutes and 27 seconds.
kudos to everyone envolved in upgrading the infrastructure.
kind regards & fingers crossed to keep the excelent performance

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2: Catalyst 2960X-24TS-LL Switch Collection Failure

    Hello,
I've Upgraded Prime Infrastructure to Version 2.2.0.0.158. Now our Catalyst 2960X-24TS-LL switches show an error message, when they are added to the inventory. The error is as follows:

The 2960X-24TS-LL is listed under the supported devices list and other switches (e.g. WS-C2960X-48FPS-L) got inventorized without any problems.
Did anybody see this issue and can tell me how to solve it.
