Upgrade guide for users of older versions of Flash Media Server?

I'm looking around to see if anyone has sort of done a crossover or upgrade guide for people with older FMS installations.
We've been running the server since at least version 2, and haven't had to change much in upgrading to subsequent versions.
In doing so, we hadn't had to change to some of Adobe's newer ways of doing things with regards to configuration files, etc.
In setting up a test 4.5.x server, though... it appears we will likely want to really change the way we are doing things.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a comprehensive site that would sort of cover topics in a "if you did this this way before, do it this way now" sort of instructions.

we just moved from 3.5 to 4.03 and now the sound has 'hiccups' - looked thru forum and made some changes but still happening - be nice like you said if there was a 'your using this version, and this is what you need to do in the next' area

Warning for users of older versions of Java thinking of upgrading to 10.6

I'm a pediatric oncologist and I use a MacBook Pro at work for many aspects of patient care. We have web based system that allows us to look at radiology scans from any computer via a browser. This system requires Java 1.4.2 to work -- it will not work with newer versions of Java.
In OS X 10.5, I would simply switch to Java 1.4.2 when needed and back when I was done. Unfortunately, Snow Leopard only installs Java 1.6. This leaves me completely unable to look at scans from my MacBook Pro.
Off the top of my head, if there was a way to take the Java 1.4.2 package from OS X 10.5 and install it on OS X 10.6, and to use Java Preferences to switch between Java versions, that would be a great solution for me, even with the understanding that Java 1.4.2 is EOL'ed and that no updates would be expected.
Today I contacted Apple Support, and the official word is that there is no way to install Java 1.4.2 under Snow Leopard, and that my only option at this point in time is to go back to OS X 10.5.
Unless someone can figure out a way to hack Java 1.4.2 from OS X 10.5 into Snow Leopard, that is.

I was able to get Java 1.4.2 working with Safari in Snow Leopard tonight. Here's how to do it.
1. Install Java 1.4.2 as outlined in this link:

Alternatively, extract Java 1.4.2 from the Java For Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 installation package, and install it in a similar manner:

2. Make sure that Java 1.4.2 is the first 32-bit application in the list. Under Java Preferences, my list reads:
Java SE 6 64-bit
J2SE 1.4.2 32-bit
Java SE 6 32-bit
3. Open Safari in 32-bit mode via the Get Info window for Safari. This is where I was getting screwed up. It finally occurred to me that Java 1.4.2 is a 32-bit application, but if Safari was opening in 64-bit mode, it wouldn't use the 32-bit Java apps.
Once I opened Safari in 32-bit mode, Safari was able to use Java 1.4.2.

Actually you can use the latest Flash Player version 15 on Mac OS 10.6.8. Mac OS 10.5.8 and older are no longer compatible and need an older Flash Player version (depending on PPC or Intel platform).

Adobe Reader 9.5.1 does not recognise older version of Flash Plugin 10.3.183.18 it requires 11.2

Actually i uninstalled the existing version of Flash Player from my Windows 8 PC, but when i tried to install the older version, it was not allowing me to install and was showing that my browser is included with latest version.
Even i followed the below given websites, it didn't given any remedy for it.

The Flash Player installer is a universal installer for both 32 and 64-bit systems. On a 64-bit OS, it installs both versions, on a 32-bit OS, it installs only the 32-bit version. I'm confused by why you think you only have the 32-bit version. Please provide more information, including screenshots (How to post a screenshot in the forum) so that we may further troubleshoot your situation.

I have latest version of FLASH Player in my system( Windows 7 ). But due to some reason I have to install Older verion of Flash in my system.
But when I am trying to install older version I am getting error message saying "Newer Version is available please visit http:// .... ".

I haven't done this in Windows 7, only XP, but I imagine something similar will work....

The newest version of Flash (12) doesn't work correctly on my Windows 7 system(using Firefox). I tried fixing the issue in many ways (reinstalled my video driver, disabled hardware acceleration, clean Flash install, etc.) without luck. You should always run the latest version, with one exception, which wouldn't apply in your case (PowerPC Macs CAN'T run anything newer than 10).
That's with or without Protected Mode enabled.

I do not have any idea about this software, but as long it is
not in the Add\Remove Program, then it is not installed to your
machine. I guess your software is searching for the Flash Keys and
registry files which is not an installed application.

Flash CS3 Mac/Win Projector Publishing - Using older version of Flash

How can I use an older version of Flash player when publishing to Man/Win Projector? The Properties says 'Player: 7' but when I publish to Mac/Win (.app/.exe) the file says it uses Flash player 9 (9.0.115.0)!
One of our clients are having issues with a project published this way - on autoplay they get a white screen instead of the program screen and after they update Flash on their computer, the application (Projector) works. What's the issue?

But even if something on this project wouldn't work on an older version than 9.0.115.0 then it shouldn't matter as the Projector will always use the embedded Flash player, not the player installed on the computer, right?

Our client is getting frustrated and I'm out of ideas as to what's wrong with the Projector executable! Why would it give white screen on launch on some systems and not on others?
