Upgrade has messed up my mac
Mac asked me to upgrade to Firefox 8.0 now I can't access anything.
adobe flash forced me to do an update and broke my laptop. had to buy a new operating system because computers don't come with software anymore and i never made a back up disc. now I am having problems using the internet and it keeps freezing up and videos are glitchy most of the time or freeze ever since I was forced to do another update on adobe flash. customer service is a joke and you would be better off throwing your computer out the window and buying a new one or reinstalling your OS. too bad there are no other programs I could use or I would. would love to sue these dumb*** people who keep making a terrible program that does nothing but cause you problems.

Adobe Upgrade Has Messed UP My PC!
OK. I'm venting here. I upgraded that latest Adobe and Flash. Ever since, it's been nothing but problems. First, all videos were messed up. I either had audio and no video, or video and no audio. Half of the flash games wouldn't play. Then, none of the videos would play in high definition or good quality. All the video quality was like back in the 90's.
UNinstalled everything, all the Adobe and Flash, and re-installed. Cleared all history and cookies, ran my Piriformer and my defrag. Scanned everyhting with AVG.
Well, that fixed the video/audio problem, but not all the video quality. Then, if Im watching any video and move my mouse cursor off the video, and try to scroll, I crash! Every flipping time! I can not even use my mouse if a video is playing or it crashes.
The play and pause buttons on the videos, if I even take the cursor over them, the Adobe Has Crashed Pop up opens and tells me to send a crash report and then Windows iopens and tells me I've crashed and they are looking for a solution to the problem.
And I use color tabs from Firefox adons. Never had a problem. Now, since the upgrade, I try to open another tab, and a ******** million tabs open! Then I'll crash again.
I use AVG, I use Firefox, I use Piriform and their defragger. I use NO Scripts.
MY computer work awesome, perfect, no problem until this new upgrade.
But, if I un-install it, I can't watch half the videos, or play 99% of the games I like.
I've tried searching al the forums looking for solutions and nothing has worked.
I tried calling Adobe Customer Service. HA! What a joke! No matter what # or * I get te same flipping set of options which just keeps repeating.
There isn't even a decent e-mail for custom complaint or problem to report bugs! The only ones I've found give my "choose from one of these" options.
So anyway. I hate Adobe now. It's really messed up my computer.
Does anyone, anyone at all, anywhere, have any suggestions? Or is there not another type of software I can run instead of using Adobe and Flash?
I'm about readdy to wipe my computer and give it away.

Verizon Upgrade has messed up Slacker Radio for Blackberry Tour 9630
About a week or two ago I got an upgrade Icon on my phone for I think a 5. something version. I upgraded my phone and it took quite a long time. Since the upgrade I had to add back some of my apps. I didn't have to add Slacker Radio back, but now it does not work as great as it did before. I deleted the app and downloaded it again to a new version. It constantly crashes and is buffering and rarely plays any music. I also downloaded Pandora, thinking there was something wrong with the new Slacker, but Pandora errors out and plays even less.

ThanksYou may need to wait for Slacker to update their app. This is annoying, I know, but not uncommon after an update like this.

Lollipop upgrade has messed up my phone. How do I fix this?
Overheating and severe battery drain. Also getting a constant error message :"unfortunately the process com.android has stopped.

Look no further help is here! Let's get your phone back to normal.
When are you getting that error message? How long is the battery life? Please keep in mind that it will take the phone a few days after the update to adjust. In many cases 3rd party apps on the phone may no longer be compatible with the new software and can cause issues. We recommend to make sure all apps are updated.

I just upgraded to OSXYosemite on my Mac and then tried to use my Photo Shop. It said to download JavaForOSX2014-001-dmg...so I did. Then I attempted to open PS again and an error message came up which said, "an unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit. What should I do?
Which version of photoshop?

Mountain Lion download has messed up my calendar. One calendar is missing on my Mac but not on my ipad or iPhone
OKAY FOLKS, I found the answer. I figured the only explination could be with my iCloud Account. I tried EVERYTHING, read every discussion on this topic. It WASN'T b/c I had an old Mobile Me account. It WASN'T b/c I didn't have the sttings right. I rebooted, erased data, EVERYTHING. The only solution was to create a NEW iCloud account - I chose a new address through Apple (me.com). Even though I already have a me.com email address and a different Apple ID I figured starting fresh was the only way. Sadly, I lost all of my calendar data (when I tried to import my old calendar data from a backup it was associated with the old iCloud account and could not be edited) but my contacts were saved. I just re-entered my calendar information... figured this would be less time consuming than trying to reboot and research the issue 10 more hours!
Here are the steps I used:
1- iCloud was OFF on my iPhone to start
2- Export your iCal and iContacts data from your Mac to a backup (you WILL lose your data)
3- On iPhone went to Settings, iCloud and went through the proper steps to set up a new iCloud account with a NEW email address (me.com)
4- On iMac under System Preferences I deleted my OLD iCloud account (it will prompt you stating you will lose your data or you can merge/save). The only way I could get it to work was to accept the warning it was going to delete everything
5- Set up a NEW iCloud account on my Mac with the NEW me.com account I set up on my iPhone. Somehow my Contacts were kept in tact, uploaded to iCloud and to my iPhone. Had issues with my iCal data, but I entered all the information manually.
Everything is syncing great! Haven't set this up yet on my iPad but will do that next. I'm hopeful!! -
Problem: this mac is not reading an excell file after upgrading to yosemite. My Mac is from 2009, it use to work perfectly but it wasn´t able to open some apps, thats why i upgrade it. Now it once i donwload the zip it appears with an ".ods" extension

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice. -
Recent software upgrades has changed the way my iPhone syncs with my macbook and items entered on my iPhone are no longer uploaded to my macbook. I've tried to fix it and seem to have made things worse, my iPhone now has a long list of calanders that I don't want and can't delete and nothing is uploading to my macbook.
You need to look at Mac's iTunes, check > System Preferences > iCloud.
If you use iCloud for Calendar, Contacts then turn off those items in iTunes, Info tab with your iPhone connected and selected. -
I think I messed up my mac install by installing windows 8
Yesterday I tried to install Windows 8 on a Mac Mini using boot camp. I am new to Macs so when the windows installer told me it could not install to the Boot Camp created partition because it was not NTFS, I told it to wipe the partition and install it to the blank partition. Now I can run Windows 8 but nothing I do lets me back in to OSx. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks.
I think you "messed up" your Mac.
Read the Boot Camp guide and then install using Boot Camp Assistant. But first, you need to repartition and format that hard drive and reinstall OS X and your other apps and data to it; hopefully you have a very recent backup.

Yes there is a Premiere Elements 12 Mac.
Premiere Elements versions are standalone programs. So you would be purchasing a new program with its serial number.
Upgrade typically goes to a price break if you have a prior version of Premiere Elements and you purchase from Adobe Sales direct.
Years ago, a user could purchase at a local retailer and get "rebate from Adobe" based on having an earlier version. I have not seen that anymore (for years).
Remember Premiere Elements 10 Windows projects do not work in Premiere Elements Mac (any version) and the other way around also.
Also Premiere Elements Mac does not have all the attributes that Premiere Elements Windows has. One example, if you work with green screen, know that Premiere Elements Mac does not have the Green Screen Key, Blue Screen Key, or Chroma Key Effects.

Upgrade options for first edition mac mini

I have rescued an old mac mini, the thing had been abandoned and mistreated, but its in very good condition.
I am looking to give it a new leash of life but need some advise on which way to go.
The first problem is the original owner has lost the reinstall disk, it has panther on the mac mini but I want to give it a fresh start to get rid off the old user info, he has also installed lots of p2p software which I hate and cannot seem to get rid of it.
So, I want to install leopard, upgrade the memory from 256 to 1gb and buy the new apple keyboard and mouse.
Can I do this, or can I reinstall without the disk also might 256 be enough memory for leopard.
The mac mini only cost me £50 would it be worth it, I feel sorry for it.
Its not the Intel version its a PowerPC G4 model.

I had somehow misplaced the info to log on, and, since I hadn't visited these forums for a while, Apple must have booted me off. I remember your valuable input to early Mac converts from the dreaded Pee Cee who bought the original Mini very well.
The distinction here, though, is one of semantics, and by serious I am referring to a combination of disk-intensive activities, coupled with algorithms in iTunes that have it going out to the 2 sites on the net that will retrieve cover art for personally-owned CDs and DVDs from the iTunes store, and the variety of track/CD data that CDDB provides.
I've tried every possible combination of alternatives to have the Mini behave like a well-disciplined child, here — everything from setting disk access preferences in the finder, to forbidding iTunes to do anything with a newly loaded disc until I tell it to do so. Nothing worked. I've erased the hard drive several times (first as a last resort) and reinstalled Leopard *by itself* and tested the system again to see if I could correct things. I even did this again last night after I had Tiger back up and running on the internal drive: I wiped the external clean, even zeroing out all the data on it, installed another fresh, clean copy of Leopard, requested the upgrade to 10.5.2, reset my iTunes account, then launched a new library. On the second attempt to load a disc into that new library I was back to the same problem that has been plaguing me for more than a month. Meanwhile, the Tiger install is operating perfectly — even willing to accept the massive amount of work that I had already completed so laboriously in Leopard.
I am not suggesting that you are incorrect, only that your own serious applications on a 1.25 GH G4 Mac Mini are not such that they will provoke this misbehavior. It may well be, too, that the unique architecture of this specific class of Mini is such that the problem cannot be replicated on any other PPC Mac that qualifies for the Leopard install. I'll also submit to noting that the Mail and Safari problems that persist on the number of G4-based Macs I support for myself and my clients may, in fact, be due to the shoddy practices of our ISP. No matter what I tell them, we still get unbelievably slow service for a cable connection (sometimes waiting as long as 3 minutes for this forum to appear, no matter which machine we are testing), and we still get a warning (on Leopard only) that the mail certificate does not match. -
upgraded both my iphone and mac os and I noticed that when listening to internet radio I only get 1 channel whereas before I was able to receive 2 channels. Any suggestions?
I received my week 16 MBP yesterday morning. It has been perfect thus far. Quite the improvment over my old iBook. I do hear some noises rarely but not enough to make me think there is a problem, I believe they are just the standard purrs and ticks of a high-powered computer. It doesn't run hot. I'd say cool to rather warm if used heavily. I hope I have a problem free experiance. I would hate for this product to tarnish Apple's reputation, that would be unacceptable considering this product is amazing. I will say this; I called Applecare, more out of curiousity than anything else and told them that I had just purchased an MBP and, while mine was fine, I had heard allot of disturbing reports about noise and heat. I asked point blank if Apple was aware of any issues and if they where working to resolve it. The answer I got was surprisingly forward. I was informed that they were "VERY" aware and working to correct the issues. He then told me I was lucky to recieve one of the quiet MBPs. I hope they work it out soon.

Upgrading RAM on Mid 2007 Mac Mini
My mother has a Mid 2007 Mac Mini, with 512MB RAM. In the past year or two, we've noticed its performance has been slowing. How much would upgrading to 1 or 2 GB of RAM help with the speed?
A fair bit, but only if she installed many Dashboard widgets or RAM intensive applications. Better that she leave the machine on overnight in screen saver, not energy saver mode, and make sure her hard disk isn't too full*:

Mail 6.0 has duplicate "On My Mac" folder structures
Having upgraded to ML 10.8 this morning I notice that Mail has two "On My Mac" folder structures below Archive, one is immediately below Archive (i.e. the top of the sub-tree) let's call it 1st instance, followed by iCloud, then the 2nd instance of an "On My Mac" folder structure.
From the erratic behaviour of the disclosure triangles in the 1st, this would appear to be the unwanted child. Click its triangle and the 2nd structure opens.
Now click the Archive disclosure triangle twice, once to close it all up, the 2nd click gives both "On My Mac" structures open to the first level, iCloud is unaffected. Repeat this operation and both "On My Mac" structures are closed up.
If you do open a sub-folder in the 1st instance, any subsequent click of the triangle is ignored, even in the other instance.
The 2nd instance is completely consistent in operation as would be expected under normal circumstances.
Closing and reopening Mail just remembers the current expanded state, the only consistent reset is achieved with the Archive close/open double manoeuvre.

Hmm, this was happening back in 2007, but the drag it out and back solution doesn't seem to work this timeUpdate, I think I've solved it for myself.
Previously, I had created a local folder called Archive. iCloud also comes with a default folder called Archive and Mail 6.0 was showing my local archive and combining it with its iCloud version, rather like the way that calendars and contacts get doubled up when your local stuff is mirrored on iCloud.
Having taken a backup of my local archive I trashed the lot, everything from the 2nd "On My Mac" tree downwards and then the other two sibling trees, the 1st "On My Mac" and "iCloud" just disappeared as well.
So my recommendation is don't use "Archive" as a local folder name.
I later created a test folder called "Local" and selected its location as "On My Mac". "On My Mac" is now listed in capitals, in a lighter grey colour, with the Hide/Show popup choice to its right. This is your local storage area, away from iCloud and Apple's little helpers :-)
