Upgrade Identity Management - Metadata Database
Hi
I installed IM 10g 10.1.4.0.1 and Metadata Repository Database ver was 10.1.0.5.0.
Can we upgrade Database 10.1.0.5.0 to 10.2.0.2? if yes can I have doc/notes related to this.
Thanks.
There's no harm in using existing Databse but in that case it is obvious that you'll be having dependency with other Applications.
Separate Database is always better but increases the cost.

Hi friends,
I have installed the Oracle Identity Manager version 9.1.0.1, I need to upgrade to version 9.1.0.2 BP15, what steps or procedures should I do ..?, What should I download installers to migrate to version 9.1.0.2 BP15?, very grateful for the support.
thanksOIM 9.1.0.1 installer can be directly downloaded from Oracle Downloads Website but you need to download the following installers from Oracle Meta-link:
- OIM 9.1.0.2
- OIM 9.1.0.2 BP 15
Patch from *9.1.0.1* to *9.1.0.2* to *9.1.0.2 BP15*. You would see a readme.html in the patch with all the instructions.
Thanks

thanks a lot!
vikAlex,
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I did a whole lot of things. I cleaned up the work directory in weblogic. Also, I did upgrade using the supplied scripts (upgradeto71from60.oracle). When I turned on the trace, this is the exact stack trace from the logs ( see below). Will installing the 7.1 Update 1 help? Right now I am at 7.1 without any updates. Also, I cant access the link for Update 1 Patch 10. Can you please point me to the download area...thanks!

is there any simple way to upgrade PHP version?
i dont want to upgrade identity management, i want to upgrade php, and i want to use apex. There are instructions for upgrading PHP on OHS 10.1 in the section "Installing OCI8 with Oracle Application Server on Linux" on p 76 of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/php/underground-php-oracle-manual-098250.html

Upgrading sun identity manager 7.1.1 to 8.1
hi all,
I am Upgrading sun identity manager 7.1.1 to 8.1 and ran the DB script upgradeto81from71.oracle. It takes a long time and eventually hangs on this statement:
CREATE INDEX repo1.userobj_repomod ON repo1.userobj(repomod);
We have large number of users around 30,000 but it should still not hang....
Any thoughts?
I am using Oracle 10g client and database is Oracle 11.2.0.2.0
thanks a lot!
vikHi,
I did not have any issues when I did the upgrade but we also did not change the script from waveset to repo1.
In changing the script did you miss any of changes from waveset to repo1
By the way we have about 90,000 users so I do not think the number of users is the issue. The database version we use is 10g -

Troubleshooting the Application of the Patch on Oracle WebLogic Server
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14899_01/doc.9102/e14764.pdf -
Hi,
We have installed FIM MA with an account that have all the sufficient rights. It got created successfully and worked for Full Import and Full Sync. But, due to some version incompatabilities, we have installed a patch.PFB link for the patch.
http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2969673/en-us
Now, we are trying to refresh the schema of FIM MA. While doing that we are facing an error "Failed to connect to database". The user account with which we are connecting has read and write permissions on DB.In the event viewer some errors are
logged like "the current version of database is not compatible with the one expected by Forefront Identity Manager service. The current version of database is : 1116. The expected version is :1122" with event ID 3. PFB images for more detailed
view.
Please advice how to fix the issue.
Thanks
Prasanthi.Hello,
seems to me that you maybe only updated the syncengine but not portal/webservice.
I had that error once after an recovery from scratch and forgot one of the hotfixes to apply to all services.

Hello, Identity manager fail to add entries in the LDAP and database table
Hello,
Well I installed identity manager 7 in a windows 2003 advanced server.
I I appended an NT server resource, a Mysql table, a solaris server resource and an ldap server resource.
I created the roles for these resources and then I assigned them to an account that I created for testing purposes.
After the aprooval, in the solaris machine, the user has been added in the user database but no home directory has been created as I didn't set the apropriate flag to true.
I the windows resource everything worked very smooth and with no problem.
In the ldap and mysql table resources I recieved a failure having error message null. and from a sniffing that I did for investigation I never saw a sigle packed arrive to the mysql server or to the directory server from the idm server.
Any ideas or suggestions on what to do ?Well the problem with the directory server just solved.
But the problem with mysql remains.
The first thing that I do when I add a resource is to test the connection.
The problem with the LDAP is that the dn was not present in the directory server. They gave me an ou that didn't exist. -

How to repair the database used by Oracle Identity Manager 11g
Hi friends,
I have a question about Oracle Identity Manager 11g.
As I can repair the database used by Oracle Identity Manager 11g
ThanksI think you can do if the repaired database is replica of old one.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/repair.htm -
When creating a new site column of the managed meta data type in SharePoint2010, and you select "customize your term set", you are presented with one of the following errors:
- This operation cannot be completed. The term store may be unavailable.
- Failed to read from or write to database. Refresh and try again. If the problem persists, please contact the administratorHi,
I have been facing the same issue, however managed to resolve it.
This is due to the uncommitted statements. From Powershell try running the following script
#Connect to Central Admin, Replace the url with the environment specific URL
$taxonomySite = get-SPSite http://centraladmin:40000
#Connect to Term Store in the Managed Metadata Service Application, Ensure you put the right Metadate service application name
$taxonomySession = Get-SPTaxonomySession -site $taxonomySite
$termStore = $taxonomySession.TermStores["Managed Metadata Service"]
write-host "Connection made with term store -"$termStore.Name
#Connect to the Group and Term Set
$termStore.RollbackAll()
Hope it would help -
Create database using mxmc-install.cmd + installing identity management
Hi all,
We planned to install a identity management on a existing bi sever as a separate instance.I got the installation documents in service market place.
https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_SHORTKEY=01100035870000706149&
I started installing the database using the document
"Installing the Identity Center Database on Oracle".
I executed mxmc-install.cmd/mxmc-install.sh file .It is asking for the net service name.
"Enter Net service name (if remote database): "
What value should i provide here?
Since the database for IDM is not yet created , we thought that the script will create the database for the IDM. So we decided to give
sid for IDM as c24 and entered the passwords for user id like system etc. But at the end it came up with an error
ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified"
This error comes when the database entries are not there in tnsnames.ora and listners.ora. But we have not yet created the database and we were try to create a new database.
So seeing this, does we need to manually create a new database
with DBSID c24 and then execute the script?
Does we need to do anything else before using the script mxmc-install.cmd ?.
Please shed some light into the issue.
thanx and regards,
RajeshHi Rajesh
