Upgrade install died during upgrade - stuck
Hi,
last night I was upgrading my Ti-book to Leopard, when it finished and tried to install/reboot additional OS X packages over the internet, it died when updating the OS. Now when I try to reboot its just the white background and spinning wheel (forever). So if I reboot off the leopard DVD, the only option it says I can do is to reformat the HD ;-{
Tried to archive and reinstall, but not enough room. I booted it in Target mode while connected to another Mac, and it came up once, but then the connection died. I cannot get the target mode connection re-established anymore. My Ti-book comes up with the floating firewire symbol, and acts like its in target mode, but the G4 desktop machine cannot connect. I have tried rebooting both, disconnected the firewire, etc, but no diff.
So is there any other way I can get some of my data off the HD on the Ti-book? I have a lot of purchased itunes songs and other data which I'd like to get off the ti-book.
I tried disk warrior, but my old version won't work now since leopard is partially installed.
help!
thanks

Hi, m_. FireWire Target Disk Mode offers the best chance for a) DiskWarrior to be able to rebuild a directory on the drive, or b) Data Rescue II, FileSalvage, or VirtualLab data recovery software to recover some of your files even if DiskWarrior can do nothing with the hosed drive.
DW or any of the data recovery utilities may be able to work with the drive even if it doesn't mount on the host machine in FWTDM.
Another possible approach to the problem, if you need to regain the use of the Powerbook ASAP, is to remove the hard drive from it, install a new one and install an OS on it, and put the old one in an external FireWire enclosure so you can therapize it and try to recover your data at your leisure.

IPad died during 3.2.1 update - help!
My iPad just completely died during the update to 3.2.1. When iTunes rebooted the device in order to install the update, I saw the white Apple flash on the screen, and that was the last thing I saw it do.
The iPad was fully charged when I started the update. It does not respond to holding sleep/home for up to 30 seconds, holding sleep/home for 10 seconds and then just home while connected to USB, nor to holding home while connecting the USB cable.
Does anyone have any other ideas?I just had this problem. My iPad just died about 20 minutes after using it perfectly normally. I then followed the instructions about holding sleep and home buttons for 10 secs and the apple logo appeared and then an image of the usb cable and the iTunes logo. I plugged it into my desktop and the suggestion came to restore factory settings. I almost did that and then got nervous about losing all my stuff so came back to the forums. While doing so (must have been about ten minutes) suddenly it burst back into life. This is not a very reassuring thing.
For your information : my iPad is a 32Gb, 3G and only two months old (not unlike some other posts with this problem).
Am concerned this will happen again -

Can I change mi Macbook pro 2012 to a new one, because my fan died during an update?
Well the other day I was using my Macbook Pro 2012 (not the retina) and I made an update soy leave my Mac during the update because I went downstairs for dinner, but when I went to se my Mac it make a strange sound on the fan, so I scared a lot and I download a program to see how my fan was doing and it sayed "0 rpm". My fan died during the update.
So my question is, Can I change my Mac to another one?Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, make a SMC reset > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If it doesn't work, the fan is defective. If you take the MacBook Pro to an Apple Store, Apple will try to repair the defective part, so you shouldn't need a new MacBook. However, if your MacBook Pro doesn't work correctly after replacing fans, Apple might give you a new Mac -
Why can't i use my ipod after the battery died during a reformatting? i've tried many things to fix it.
I do not understand your question. You do not formate an iPod. Please explain better the problem. what lead up to the problem and what you have tried so far.

The deployment process seems to die or get stuck, iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8?
When I deploy my application in iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8 the deployment process seems to die or get stuck. In the shell window i get the messages
iasdeploy for iPlanet Application Server 6.0 SP3
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode
sstu15:null
sstu15:10 kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar'' (/u02/home/iplanet/JAR/SSS.ear) running.
sstu15:10 kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar'' (/u02/home/iplanet/JAR/SSS.ear) running.
After this nothing happens for a really long time.
When starting the deployment I get in the beginning of kas.log two entries
ADMIN-168: kas> deployment get log ''J2EEInstallEar''
GDS-007: finished a registry load
but suddenly the second line disappears and the only message I get is the first entry. I need to break the deployment process and kill the processes manually.
When starting the application server I get two error messages:
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode

I think all processes starts OK, I get one for .kas and one for kas, one for .kxs and one for kxs and finally one for .kjs and one for kjs.
Is someone familiar with this/these problem(s)?It seems you are deploying a very big application. Try to deploy this application with following command
j2eeappreg <filename>
It should work fine. It was a bug with iasdeploy command in iAS SP3 which had been fixed in iAS SP4. -
I have a new Time Capsule, want to use it in conjunction with an iMac G5 and a MacBook. MacBook runs Snow Leopard, but G5 (lacking Intel processor) can't install Snow Leopard, is stuck at OS 10.4.11. Am I doomed? Will appreciate any advice. Thanks.
you should still be able to get a copy of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), which should run on your G5.

I am having the same exact problem as documented in the following article but the solution documented in this article unfortunately did not apply:
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa;jsessionid=8d922006ce67d1ef91f6c484a4ba035f8a2d3e0851a.rQjwahaM-AXMmkbGngTxpQOUaNaKaxD3lN4OagSLb3mIaN8IbwSLa30Qn3qP-x4KbhiKbA8Omh8Q-wOSa30K8Oz1iNyKb2TRnk8LaN8IpR9vmQLz-AbJpgaLc34SaNmMah0S8OexhOaOgzXApR9PplaOagbynknvrkLOlQzNp65In0__?messageID=1177518Thanks for the follow up. Yes, I do have two Oracle Homes on the server: One is for an Oracle Database Server 9i and the other is for the current install of Application Server. Both listeners are up and running and they are both listening on different ports. Having both of these services started simulatenously should not be a problem given that their listening on different ports, correct? I used the lsnrctl status command in each of the Oracle Homes and I didn't notice anything in the output that stated the listener was not running. The last piece of output states that "The command completed successfully" Anything, I should be looking for in the output?

Why do we need to install java during sap installation
why do we install Java during SAP installation?
Hello Satish,
Sapinst tool requires JRE for the running and as JRE cannot be integrated to sapinst due to licensing issues we need to install seprately java before sap installation.
Hope this clarifies your query.

Is it possible to LOAD and INSTALL applet during pre-personalization?
Hi Friends..
Currently, i use JCOP card
I want to know the other way to LOAD and INSTALL applet not through CardManager..
I mean, is it possible to LOAD and INSTALL applet during pre-personalization time?.
Thanks in advanceHi,
i want to LOAD and INSTALL Applets while pre-personalization phase..
No, i don't want to defer the LOAD and INSTALL..In the past, we have used the pre-personalisation phase to load KDC keys onto a card and remove the ISK and set issuer specific identifiers (IIN and CIN) etc. You could also load your applet at this time if you wish. You can also load the applets at personalisation.
How do you plan on doing the personalisation phase? If you were to use a GP scripting environment for example, the CAP files are embedded as a part of the install scripts and only loaded onto a card when you begin executing your personalisation scripts. Since I assume you will be using the small desktop printers mentioned in a different thread, you may be better off integrating the applet loading into your personalisation code (printer integration) so you do not need to double handle cards.
Actually, is it possible to LOAD and INSTALL applet if we don't authenticate to the CardManager?..There are ways to load and install an applet without explicitly calling INIT UPDATE and EXTERNAL AUTH, but you still need to be authenticated to the card manager, otherwise anyone could manage card content. You can use install tokens and delegated management (which are all outlined in the GO Card Spec).
Cheers,

Camera battery died during import. why can't i find my imported video
newest version of IMOVIE and my camera died during an import cant find my video tho the camera memory shows the video still exists when i try to create a new event with the same name that i used the first time it says i cant duplicate the event as it alreaady exists but doesnt show up in my library when i try to find it any ideas?
FIXED IT. For those of you who may be having the same problem, this is what I eventually had to do.
1. erase my entire ipod
2. put it all back on there
That seems simple but it also seems pointless. I do not know why I had to do this because I had already downlodaded the newest version of itunes, put everything on the cloud, and then downloaded everything back off of the cloud.
But for some reason I had to go in and
1. put things from cloud back into library
2. erase ipod (which had already had cloud info put back on it)
3. transfer all library data straight from library to ipod (without use of cloud this time)
For some reason this made my video show up on my ipod and not just my itunes. -
I am not able to install asphalt 8 on ios 7 ipad retina display. I am downloading it directly but on the install process it is stuck.
Try rebooting your iPad by holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously until a blank screen with the Apple logo appears. Ignore the power off slider if it appears. After a while your device should go to the main screen, as if you're turning the iPad on. Don't worry, this won't do anything to your data, it just literally restarts the iPad.
