Tried to upgrading ipad 1 from itunes and l guess it did not complete the process because all I have showing on the ipad is the itunes logo with the usb cable. When l try to connect it to my system, it resquest that a driver be used to install the device. Please help! How do I restore?

Restoration is relatively simplistic. Here's whatcha do. Plug your ipad in, open itunes, now if itunes doesn't recognize it then you may have a problem, anywho, click on the ipad in the devices interface and go to the info tab, click restore, and it'll be just like it was when it left the factory. To get you data back, it should ask if you would like to use a backup, just select the backup you want and you'll be good to go. That is if you regularly backed up your iPad.

  • Upgrade ipad 4 from 6.1.3 to 7.1.2 is it possible now?

Hi, I just try to restore my ipad 4 to 7.1.2 from 6.1.3 with Shift+Click Restore. It shows error 3194. Here what I did after search google.
    1. Upgrade iTunes
    2. Change 3 Computers with windows 7 32bit, 7 64bit and 8.1 64bit using every USB port and different cable.
    3. Using the Lightning Cable from iPhone 5
    4. Remove apple link from hosts file. Restart and Not restart.
    5. Reset all content on my Ipad
    6. Enter DFU mode and repeat 2,3,4
Also, I never jailbreak this devices.
None of them work. It still shows error 3194 and I just remember about Apple close signing IOS 7.1.2 from people who want to downgrade from IOS 8. Is this apply to upgrading? I don't want IOS 8 since it take about 800MB more. I try to use TinyUmbella and it not works. It help me get out from recovery mode only.
Can someone tell me how to upgrade it to 7.1.2 or it is impossible now?
    Thank you very much.
    Best,
    Jeng

  • Has anyone upgraded iPad 2 from iOS 4. to iOS 7?

I need to update iPad 2 from iOS 4.3.4 to iOS 7. Has anyone done this and what problems occurred?

I don't think that the distance from 4.3.4 to 7 is going to be your issue. Remember that the iPad 2 is the oldest device supported by iOS 7, so it may be slow in places.
I don't think I've seen many issues, but you can search here by typing "iPad 2 iOS 7" and see if there's any watchouts.

  • Issues in upgrading ipad 2 from 4.33 to 8.02

    Hi,
Itunes :  Latest version (12.0.1.26) on Windows 7
I am trying upgrade using iTunes.   When I sync, the ipad gets stuck in the "Connect with itunes Logo" mode.  This can be recovered using tools like IReb or tinyumbrella .
What I am seeing is that this process is completely reproducible:
      (1)  Try to do Upgrade
       (2)  Ipad 2 stuck at "Connect itunes screen"
       (3)  Use iReb to recover Ipad 2
The error I am getting is 4000 series.
Is it possible for my current ipad 2 version (4.33) to get directly upgraded to 8.02?
Should I upgrade to some intermediate version to complete the upgrade?
    Thanks,

It's not possible to update iOS to an intermediate version (between what's currently on the device and the most current version, which is iOS 8.1). Earlier versions of iOS, even though your device can run them are no longer signed or validated by Apple for your device and the update will fail. The iPad 2nd gen can run the most current iOS 8.1 so that is what will be installed (assuming no errors) automatically by updating via iTunes. You cannot update via the device itself because this requires the device already be at iOS 5.x
Maybe your issue is that you are trying to update to iOS 8.0.2 but that version is no longer being signed (as far as I'm aware). Are you updating by manually choosing the iOS 8.0.2 update .ipsw file? If so, you may want to find the iOS 8.1 .ipsw file for your particular device and use that instead...or simply let iTunes find the correct update for your device (don't manually use the .ipsw file update method).
    See the following article:
    http://recomhub.com/blog/fix-error-4000-4005-4013-4014-4016-on-itunes-ios7/
    From the article above:
"The hardware error generally relates to a cable that doesn’t work correctly, a port that is broken or even some dust and debris in between the connection. You would notice this when you first connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer to see if it was recognized. The best way to fix iTunes error 4013/4014 during an iOS 7 upgrade is to change the USB cable or USB port on computer. If that doesn’t work try updating to the newest iTunes available."
or Google "ipad error 4000" for plenty of other info.

  • I want to upgrade some software from Appstore but it asks an Apple ID that I don't know

When trying to update some software (iPhoto) the following message appears.
You have updates available for other accounts
To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.
Apparently I have to know some account or Apple ID that I don't have.
I have an Apple ID but it seems that it does not work...

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your phone ? If it's not your id then tap on it and log out of it and you can then log in with your id.
If you have any apps or other content from the id that is currently showing then that content will be tied to that id e.g. only that account will be able to download updates to its apps and make in-app purchases in those apps

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • Problem upgrading iPad from iOS 4.2 to 4.3....

Before I start, I can confirm that I have successfully upgraded my iPhone4 from 4.2 to 4.3.
In regard to the iPad, when I click on the 'Check for update' button in my iTunes device summary page, it states that 4.2 is the 'Current Version', even though I know that iOS 4.3 is available. Therefore to try and force an update I selected the 'Restore' option in the same summary page and it prompts me if I am sure that I want to restore etc... which I confirm with the RESTORE, then I get an error message of _'There was a problem with downloading the software for the iPad "iPad". The requested resource was not found.'_
Anyone have any ideas how to get around this issue, or why iTunes is telling me that 4.2 is the latest version.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Should I upgrade my iPad mini from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7.1.1? Thanks in advance

Should I upgrade my iPad mini from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7.1.1? Thanks in advance

No, it's not true. If someone were to buy it from you then it would have to be completely restored as new at which time only the then current version of iOS can be installed. Having an older version on it now makes it worth no more than if it had 7.1.1 installed.
When you sell or give it away the new user cannot use anything on the device that is registered to your Apple ID. That's everything. You will need to turn off Find My Phone, remove the phone from your @icloud.com Find My Phone, then erase it completely. Unless you do that the device is useless to another owner. Erasing it will result in having the new iOS version installed.

  • Upgraded my iTunes from 4.3.3 to iOS 7.0 and now iTunes cannot locate my iPad 2 or any of the movies/books I purchased

Computer illiterate here.  I wanted to upgrade my iPad2 from an iOS 4.3.5 to a 5.0 so i could upgrade some of my games.  Initially when iPad2 wanted to upgrade to 5.0 I said no because people said it was causing a lot of problems.  Now I cannot play certain games because I don't have iOS 5.0.  I went to iTunes because I cannot locate any upgrades on my iPad 2 and the upgrade was to iOS 7.0 which I did.  Now when I go to my iPad 2, it says HELLO and wants me to follow all these steps.  When I try to restore my back up, iTunes cannot locate my iPad 2 or other items I purchased.  What can I do, I should have just left it at iOS 4.3.5 - at least I could use my iPad 2?

    Hey there SNagai,
It sounds like you are not seeing your iPad in iTunes after updating it. I would recommend the following article to help you get that working again:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Here is an overview of the troubleshooting to be done:
    1. Update iTunes
    2. Check the USB cable
    3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
    5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
    6. Check for third-party software conflicts
If the issue persists, try uninstalling iTunes and its associated apps with either of these two articles depending on your operating system version:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
    Or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
