UPGRADE ISSUES???  10.6 released too soon??

1.) Parallels complained during install and does not work.
2.) Permissions scrambled. Unable to access files or save on a LOT of programs!
3.) Apple Aperture 1.5.6 does not work. Now what to do? More money? Upgrade to Photoshop?

4.) Internet access wants to reset keychain ofter startup.
5.) Open office 3.1 does not function. Reinstalled and still does not function!
I miss the extremely stable and very easy to use OS X, the reason I have invested in to APPLE desktop and laptops. How do I go back to OS X 10.5??????? How do I get a refund?

I agree. Nothing works right. Nothing. Everything is slower, printers do not work right, Word is slower, Endnote is slower, Safari doesn't display things correctly, oh look to your upper right, see a text box all screwed up. Spell checker in safari freezes when trying to correct a mispelled word that I would even chekc it anymore. sorry for the mispellings. Oh my computer boots faster and it installed faster 3 different times but how many more hours will I waste with this. hours and hours lost in time. sound familair to anyone else out there. FIX IT! THis is SNOW VISTA not SNOW LEOPARD. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WANT A NEW DVD OF 10.5 sent to me. THIS IS ENOUGH!

  • ECC6.0 upgrade issue with IDoc release

    Hi experts,
we are in the process of upgrading our ECC environment from 5.0 to 6.0. We have quite a few interfaces which use ORDERS/Invoice Idocs in customised form. In ECC5.0 environment, we had developed a Z segment in the ORDERS Idoc and the segment release was set as 640. Everything worked fine in ECC5.0.
In upgraded environment, SAP has released new version of some segments. one of those is E1EDP01. This segment has 2 new versions in ECC6.0 environment - 007 and 008. This change in the version changes the data in the IDoc and hence interface goes in error at the EDI provider.
We have tried to use 640 as the IDoc segment release in the partner profile of the IDocs. This still gives us an issue because the 007 version of the segment E1EDP01 has release 620 and hence the Idoc picks up 007 version instead of 006 version as desired. When we change the partner profile with Segment release in the IDoc type as 46C, it gives us an issue in the Z segment saying that the IDoc segment is not released in 46C and the Idoc goes in error.
has any one faces such situation in the past? if yes, please throw some light.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Iam new to SAP. Thar’s why i can’t understand well to do upgrade,
Then i found out some notes from internet about Upgrade : ‘‘ SAP Note Number 857904  (upgrade from Release 6.’ To 7.0)’’.
    In that notes,
Actually i would like to know about some key words (for example : ASSIGNING, REPLACE, TRANSFER…. )  which how to work in the Release 7.0
Always i have some objets in 4.6C.
    Ex 01: ’’READ DATASET p_dataset INTO wa_record’’
    Ex 02 :  ’’ TRANSFER i_crhu TO p_crhd ’’
    LOOP AT i_crhd.
    *disable controls in crhd
        PERFORM f_disable_crhd.
        TRANSFER i_crhd TO p_crhd.
        IF sy-subrc NE 0.
MESSAGE a045.        "Error when transfering data to error file
        ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
      CLEAR i_crhd.
      CLOSE DATASET p_crhd.
      IF sy-subrc NE 0.
MESSAGE a039.                      "Error at close dataset
      ENDIF.
OPEN DATASET v_crhd FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE.
    And then i have some FM (ex : WS_UPLOAD , WS_DOWNLOAD)
So I have changed the code for WS_UPLOAD by GUI_UPLOAD
                                  and WS_DOWNLOAD by GUI_DOWNLOAD
now my problem is to know about some key word which how to work in ECC6 (for example ASSIGNING, REPLACE, TRANSFER…. )
    thanks in advance

  • Was iWeb released too soon?

I'm wondering if iWeb was released before it was ready, as there seem to be be few very obvious bugs and major failings
For example iWeb does not use the full range of HTML character entities which causes some web servers to serve up some very strange objects on pages if you use apostrophes or similar punctuation.
    For examples look here: http://tinyurl.com/9xh98
    And here: http://tinyurl.com/cav2k
I've also discovered that iWeb cannot copy pages. For example you spend a fair bit of time laying out a page and getting the formatting just right, and then you discover you can't duplicate it, copy it, or do a save as. So for your next web page you have to start all over again.
Publishing with FTP is next to useless because you can't upload only the changed files. For example if I make a minor change to one page and then save the changes using publish to a folder, iWeb then re-writes almost the entire web site to your local folder. Then when I use an FTP client like Transmit to synchronize with the remote site, Transmit has to upload almost the entire site because every local file has overwritten. Not a good thing to do with a 50 or 100MB web site.
As a web publishing application, iWeb seems crude, very limited, and not ready for inclusion in a major suite of applications like iLife.

For example iWeb does not use the full range of HTML
character entities which causes some web servers to
serve up some very strange objects on pages if you
    use apostrophes or similar punctuation.
    For examples look here: http://tinyurl.com/9xh98
    And here: http://tinyurl.com/cav2k
If you switch your browser to UTF-8, you will see that these pages are displayed correctly. This presumably means that the server you are using forces all browsers into Latin-1. This is wrong, web servers should let the page code (UTF-8 for all iWeb pages) determine what the browser does, and not force everyone to use ascii character entity codes for the hundred thousand characters not in Latin-1. You might want to ask the folks who run that server to change this.
You could argue that iWeb should allow users to choose their own encoding, like more sophisticated programs do, but it is a lot easier for most to not need to deal with the question.
The current apparent inability to easily make custom templates is obviously a shortcoming, but hardly a reason to delay issuing the program, at least in my view.

Hi to All, My wife still has ios 6 on her ipad (she likes the look). I will do the 7.1 upgrade when it is released. Should there be any issues going from 6 directly to 7.1? Thanks!

There shouldn't be. I went from iOS5.whatever to iOS6.1 with no issues.
Just make sure to back everything up before you do it, just in case all doesn't go as planned.
I always do mine the old fashioned way, download the full OS via iTunes so if you've already got it linked to a computer and been using iTunes to do updates/syncing that's how I'd suggest you do it.

  • IPhone 5 still using 6.0.1 because of battery issues. Now hearing about battery issues w/ 6.1, too. When does anyone think it'll be safe to upgrade to 6.1

Any time you want.  I've upgraded to 6.1 the day it came out and have no battery issue.

    HI,
I am running an upgrade in modus PREPARE from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 and I get the message that:  current release too low (< 2002_1_31I).
    I downloded the Add-Ons 2002_1_46C (SAPKIND76A).
I extract it to \usr\sap\trans\EPS and the file is ...\EPS\bin
I logon to the the system and uploaded it and I see it is installable.
Problem: When I want to install it the system tells its already installed.
Why I see it its installable? Why PREPARE ask for it when its installable?
    ADDONCHK.LOG is:

    Hi Markus,
    All I have now is:

                            SAPKIPZG44    not imported

    And the upgrade says:
The version 2001_2_46C of  the Add-on PI is too low for this upgrade (< 2002_1_31I).
You need to upgrade the Add-on first before you can proceed with PREPARE.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Ntp service depends on dns but is started too soon

Given servers defined in /etc/inet/ntp.conf, the service starts interactively (svcadm enable ntp) with an initial ntpdate call to set the clock.
However, this fails on boot up as the servers are not found unless defined in /etc/inet/hosts. As a consequence, there can be a significant initial offset from the RTC, which corrupts the clock drift value and takes hours longer to stabilise.
This implies that the ntp service is being started too soon before dns whereas it should be started after dns.

I would check to see if this is still true in the most recent releases of Solaris Express. If it is, you can log a bug about it.
For your existing machines, you could probably create a dependency on milestone/name-services for the ntp service and see if that fixes it.

  • Presenter 10 jumps to next slide too soon in html 5

I created a presentation from powerpoint 2013 64bit, set to FM quality sound using Presenter 10.0.0 build 196. It is delivered by an Adobe Connect server. The presentations created this way are jumping to the next slide too soon when viewed online, which cuts off the last few words. I have to manually add blank space at the end of the audio for each slide and then upload it multiple times to check that it is OK. Is anyone else having this issue, and is there a known solution?

I have tried the remove and re-add and it makes no difference. I can't now get the Presenter presentation with video in mp4 format to display or play. I am not sure if it is there or not as when viewing on an iPad it says it is buffering but never actually stops buffering. I can see it on my computer fine and it plays fine, but some of the reason for publishing to html 5 is so as it can be seen by people using tablets.  I just can't seem to get it to work no matter what I try.
    So to recap:
    1. using a presentation published using an older version of Presenter that contains flv videos
    2. republishing the presentation using Presenter 10 to a Connect Content Library using HTML 5
    3. have to convert the flv to mp4
    4. on a computer using a variety of browsers the presentation plays fine.
    5. on a tablet (iPad tried at this stage) the slides without video plays fine, the slides with video just continually says buffering
On the second point of Presenter throwing up an error message, it's not so much that it throws up the error message as I can cancel that. It's more to do with the fact that it throws it up each time I try to publish a presentation that includes video that is of a certain duration.  I have followed the whole kill the process as suggested and while this does indeed stop the problem it just comes back when I open PowerPoint again and try to publish.

  • Aspell upgrade leads to - FATAL: kernel too old - SYSTEM BACK UP 8-)

OK, I really hosed it up now 8-(
Who would think that upgrading a spellchecker could cause such a problem, but upgrading aspell has totally crashed my system.
I knew something was fishy when it wanted to change all of the gcclibs, but I went ahead and --force 'd  the upgrade anyway. What a schmuck!
It brings something to mind about too much rope.
Now I can't run any command without it leading to -> FATAL: kernel too old
I can't pacman back to the older package, I can't manually cp the files, WTF?!
Seems like the kernel itself should have been a dependancy.
It looks like I'm rescue CD bound at this point.
Any insight as to what to repair first would be GREATLY appreciated.
The command line session that led to this little disaster is included below.
It's interesting that the programs that were already running will still run (the shell still runs, it just can't launch any new programs, even ls, mv, etc.) I'm even making this post from the browser that was running prior to the debacle, but I can't ls, wow.
    Thanks again for any insight...

    Thanks JGC!
After booting from a rescue CD, I was able to pacman -U to the 2.5 version of glibc and the appropriate kernel-headers and now I'm back in action.
This machine was setup about 2 years ago. At that time I built my own kernel in order to get all of my motherboard features to work.
I've been running arch as my primary desktop workstation for almost 5 years now. I've never really had luck using the pacman -Su option. There always seems to be some inter dependency issue that prevents it from completing.
For instance, after recovering from this current dillema (and backing up my home/ 8-) I thought I'd abandon my custom kernel and launch forward into stock arch.
The pacman -Su led to this isssue:
    :: ttf-bitstream-vera conflicts with xorg. Remove xorg? [Y/n] n
    error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
    :: ttf-bitstream-vera: conflicts with xorg
Now, I don't have a package installed called ttf-bitstream-vera, but apparently pacman thinks I need it and I can't have it and xorg at the same time.
Some variant of this situation occurs each time I've tried to use the upgrade feature of pacman through the years.
Now I know some people have never reinstalled their systems from sctratch for years by continuously using pacman -Su and just staying up to date. But this just hasn't worked for me. Each time something goes wrong, sometimes leaving me with a system that takes days to get back into working order.
This current issue, while being inconvenient in having to use a rescue CD to recover, wasn't that hard to overcome. I've done pacman -U to older versions numerous times to get out of problems caused by upgrading a specific package. However when a complete system upgrade goes bad, it's very difficult to discover what has to be downgraded to get back to the working system.
But, I'm willing to try again.
Any insight into why the ttf-bitstream-vera package should conflict with xorg would be very much appreciated.
I'm looking into setting pacman.conf to prevent ttf-bitstream-vera from being loaded at all. This is my current workaround approach. Once everything is upgraded perhaps these fonts will load without error.
As usual, things aren't as simple as one might first suspect.
    Thanks again for your help!

I have created multiple vi's in that utilize the previous report generation toolkits specifically using the Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi and the Generate Report Set Modified Data.vi.  Obviously the report reference has now changed in 8.6's version of the report generation toolkit and these vi's do not exist in the 8.6 library anymore.  What vi's do I need to replace these functions with to make this code work.  Can anyone tell me what the work around is to solving this problem.  This is a picture of the code.

    Hi BJD1613,
The Report Generation VIs on the LabVIEW Palettes mutate properly. However, you may run into upgrade issues if VIs distributed with LabVIEW, but not available in the Palettes are used in the code. Hence, I would caution against using them for the same reason.
In this case, the specific references do exist in the report generation classes; however, since they are private, they cannot be accessed by VIs outside the respective classes. A temporary workaround for now is mentioned in the following KB 4OOCSJ4M Getting References in Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.3 with LabVIEW 8.6.
This was reported to R&D (CAR# 123064) for further investigation

  • Material Cost Estimate - Release too early

    Hi,
I ran the cost estimate for one material on 12.06.2008 and i released the cost estimate. Here it is saying 'Cost Estimate released too early'. I thought system is releasing the cost for material for the next month. but i want to update the material cost for this month only.
And how many days before you have to run the cost estimate for the new month.
    sateesh

    Hi Sateesh,
Please check the period which you have mentioned in CK24.
I think the period you have given is of next month. Hence system is giving that message as next month's  period may not have been opened.
System allows to release cost estimate only once in a period. Normal practice is to carry out cost run at the end of the month.
Please do let me know if your problem is solved.
    regards,
