Upgrade lost my "Notes" and email accts - where are they?

and can I get them back?
Next time, what do I do to save things that dont "sync"?

So many issues here!
1. You should never ever change the name of your Home icon - that's the short name of your User Account which is a total no-no. (Why don't Apple issue a grim warning when users try to do this?). Check out these old discussion threads which may contain something of interest or help :

2. This needs recovering from - see the first discussion thread (above). Your User Account is being treated as a new one, but your old data should be there - read the discussion
3. You must have been close to a full HD even before this happened? This is inadvisable - you should always have around 10% of your HD free, or at the very least, OS X will start to slow down dramatically.
Hopefully the first thread above will point you to a fix of your problem.

it's just as good as lost, if there is no way to load the info in that folder into a new reader.
i followed that path, ~/Library/Mail/V2/RSS, and I have almost 40 rss feeds. that means
there are nearly 40 folders that I would have to go into, one by one, and extract the pertinent
information, and import, one by one, into a new reader.
this is a problem that Apple created. I would have never used the mail.app as a reader
if I knew Apple was going to do this to us. And it makes you wonder what else Apple is
going to do to screw us loyal customers over. (why would they discontinue a feature, knowing
that it would mean lost data and a headache to their customers?)
does anyone have an automated solution to importing these files into a new reader?

Anyone know what happened to the Ampede developer? Would love to know if Layerlink and PDF for FCS are still accessible and compatible with FCS2.

There may be some problems with Firefox 4 and 5 recognizing the latest PDF plugin (Adobe Reader X). Did you use your backup to restore the info and settings on your phone again?
Are the contacts still part of the program you sync to on your computer? If yes, set one contact up on your phone and sync again, you will get the option to merge your contact data.

All notes just disappeared from "Notes" app on iPhone, iPad, Macbook Air and iCloud. Where are they?

You will have to do more than simply changing settings in your moms account. To set up everything in your own account, go to Settings > iCloud > scroll down and press sign out. Before you set that up, you will have to make a new iCould account which you can simply do after you sign out of your mom's account on your devices.

Downloaded photos from email. Where are they?

You're welcome. Try opening the Camera app and take a photo, then go back to the Photos app and see if the Camera Roll album appears now with the photo you just took inside of it. Assuming it does, open the email containing the photo, tap and hold the photo, then select Save Image. The photo should be saved to the Camer Roll album. Does this work now?
You can also try taking a screenshot by pressing and the power and home buttons at the same time and quickly releasing, as well as saving a photo from a web page by tapping an hold the picture and choosing Save Image. These should all be saved in the Camera Roll album. The same is true for saving photos received it a text message.

I need to download Quicktime 7.0.3 and iTunes 6, where are they?

I am having big problems with Quicktime 7.1.3 and I just want to go back to using 7.0.3 with iTunes 6. Can anybody tell me where to download these from on the Apple website, or anywhere else for that matter, I can't see them.
Annoyingly I can't find the installation disc that came with my ipod either.

Have you been using your phone as recommended? If so, you've been importing photos in your camera roll onto your computer for safe keeping. Just as you would with a standalone digital camera. Your photos would then reside safely on your computer for archival.
While camera roll photos ARE part of the backup, not everything always goes smoothly as you've seen, which is why the recommendation to import photos as soon as possible to your computer.
If you have a recent backup of your iPhone, you can restore and hopefully many of your photos will be on this backup. Any photos or data added to your phone since this last backup are, of course, gone forever.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document. If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible). Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.

Where did you put them?
These are not part of the sync process at all, as the manual tells you. You should be importing them to your comptuer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

I had this exact problem. I found my old notes in my EMAIL folders of all places!!! Check you emails (any emails that you may have used) and see if you can find a folder called NOTES. I couldn't believe my notes were scattered between three different e-mail accounts. If you go to SETTINGS, then Mail, contacts and calenders---check which email addresses are listed, and if any are turned ON, turn them off, then your notes won't be synced to your e-mails and will instead will go to ICloud if you have Icloud set up. Check it out, worked for me. Good luck!

HI! Today I lost contacts, notes and reminders on my iPhone. I checked on my iCloud account and everything is there, then I checked iCloud settings on my iPhone and all options are off except for Find My iPhone. I did not turn on everything because I am worried that I could lose information on iCloud. How can I restore my contacts, notes and reminders to my iPhone from my iCloud account?
