Upgrade or Archive and Install option on new and almost empty HDD?
My Macbook has recently come back from repair with a new HDD fitted after the original failed. It has Tiger and iLife 6 installed plus a couple of 3rd party applications (PhotoPresenter and Onyx) but apart from the configurations for my Airport base stations there is not else on it yet. I have a home wireless network that I set up from this Macbook comprising of an Airport Extreme and an Airport Express connecting wirelessly and I don't want to risk losing my internet connection. Is it still considered to be the safer option to install Leopard using the Archive and Install option or would it be ok to choose Upgrade which looks easier to do and would take up less space on the hard drive? I also want to upgrade to iLife 8 at some point...should I do that first?

If you do the Upgrade and have problems, you can always do the Archive & Install later. That is part of the reason I suggest do the Upgrade first. It is fast and easy. If it works for you as it did for me you are done quickly.
I also start with a clone of my current system first that I test to be sure I can boot from it. So far I have not needed it but it is alway nice to know that you can get back to the current system just in case.

The hub may not be broken per se, but Apple has made adjustments to the limits on current that can be drawn from ports.
You probably need a new hub.

My App Store is not responding after upgrading to Mavericks and installing free Keynote, Pages and Numbers Apps.
Also I tried to reboot and restart and nothing happens still unresponsive.
Tried to click as many times as I can the App Store and it won't open.

Have a student / teacher subscription. Trying to download and install applications on new mac pro with yosemite. Old applications still work on older Mac Pro. Can't download any applications. Creative Cloud website and desktop app both fail. Very frustrating. Anyone having this problem?
Chas50 I would recommend removing the currently installed Adobe Creative software. You can then install the new versions of the Adobe Creative software included with your membership. I understand that you have used Home Sharing to play the music from one computer on another, but now you would like to only use the new computer. It sounds as though you have set up the content to share between computers, but have not actually I’m ported the media from the old computer to the new one. I would suggest following the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article to import you music from the old computer to the new one. After that process is complete, you can turn off Home Sharing if you would like and the content will be in the iTunes library on your new computer.

I would like to inform that you can install and activate Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers, regardless of operating system, for the individual associated with the Creative Cloud membership.
If you've already installed Creative Cloud on 2 machines then you need to deactive it from one of the machine.
To deactivate, you can click on the product and then go to Help> Deactivate.
To uninstall the apps follow the link mentioned below:

Just got a new iPod Nano 7gen. Have downloaded and installed iTunes 10.7 and installed succesfully. But iTunes fails when I try to start the program. Have OS X 10.8.2. Moutain Lion. Please help - thanks.
SvenProblem solved. Copied latest file of iTunes Library.itl from Previous iTunes Libraries and replaced it with the original in Music - iTunes-folder.

No "erase and install" option only "customize"
I want to perform an "erase and install" but it won't give me the option to.
It only says "Customize"
Where did it go?i think u may be right. which may also be why it doesn't allow me to log in. (just freezes whenever i put the RIGHT name/password in, if it's the wrong one it only allows me to try again)
Although, the iBook currently had 10.3.9.
there's also no "erase and install" option on my iMac that I'm trying to re-install. MAYBE cuz Tiger's already installed on there?? I'm using the disc that it came with. -
When I open iTunes, it will not allow me to preview or download TV shows. The preview and download options are gray and will not let me view them. I have tried installing the latest Quicktime but it tells me that I have to do software update and when I do, Quicktime does not appear to need an update. I have no idea what to do
Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

In Acrobat pro 9, I can't find staple and fold options for booklets and no matter what options I choose in the print dialogue my booklet ends up with pages upside down and out of order? I am working on a Macbook pro running OS X 10.9.4. Our printers are fully capable for booklets with staples and folds. Would love some help. Thank you!

I know that I can select the font, size, and color for writing each new and reply e-mails in Thunderbird, but I don't want to have to do this each time. I want to set-up the default font, size, and color for all new and reply e-mails. It already comes up with a default one, but I want to change it, but can't figure out how to do this. I'm sure it is quite simple, but I don't know how to do this. Thank you in advance for help.
Tools > Options > Display > Formatting tab
Default font: select font
Select size : eg; 14
Click on 'Advanced' button and set all the sizes to 14
Select : 'allow messages to use other fonts'
click on OK
Click on 'Composition'
Under the 'General' tab
Suggest you set HTML font to 'Variable width' and Size : 'Medium'
Select the 'Text colour' you would like to compose email using
Select the 'Background colour' you would like to use when composing emails.
click on OK to save all changes.
This will set the display email list to the selected font.
It will allow received emails to use the font the sender used.
When you compose an email it will also use the same font settings.
The message 'Display' settings in the above section also apply to messages that you compose. The settings are not sent, so they do not affect how your messages appear to recipients.
The settings in the ''Composition' section can affect how messages are sent. If you make unusual choices, then people who receive messages from you might find them difficult or impossible to read. Hence, why I suggest you leave it as 'Variable width' and allow the 'Display' settings to set the default used for composing emails.

Let me start with two remarks:
1. To increase your chances of getting helpful responses, do not use all uppercase messages. This is considered yelling and rude.
2. Each message has two parts: a title in the subject line and the actual body of the post. In your case, you could have that said in the subject: Need help with deinstalling Gamebario2.
Following those simple guideline will help getting a resolution for your problem.
Now: Do you know how to open a finder window? If not, just left-click once on the back ground image of your Mac and you will notice the top menu bar change to say 'Finder'. Then go to File and select 'New Finder Window'. Once you have that window, find the entry 'Applications' in the left part of that window and click it once. This is where you applications live. Find Gamebario2 in that folder, click it once, then drag it to the trash can.
Let us know if you can't find GameBario2 in the application folder.
