Upgrade or re-install? CE9 to BOE XI R2, new server has BOE XI old version

We have an old server that's running Crystal Enterprise Reports version 9 and it is the current production machine.
We also have another server that was purchased a couple years ago and BOE XI was loaded on it and the CE9 stuff was migrated to it. But the migration was never completed and the person in charge of this left and the project has sat since then due to resource issues.
I am now tasked with creating a plan for getting BOE XI R2 loaded on the "new" server and migrating the information from the CE9 server. There are 2 options that I can see.
1) Upgrade the existing BOE XI in place to R2. Would doing this preserve configuration that had already been done? What problems will be presented by the fact that information was already migrated once from CE9 and everything will need to be re-migrated?
2) Completely uninstall BOE XI and then reinstall BOE XI R2. Start from scratch with configuration and migrating information from the CE9 server.
Also, I saw mention in another thread of obtaining the services of a consultant. We typically do not do that unless it's absolutely necessary. Would like your opinions on whether this is really complicated enough to warrant hiring outside help or if we should be able to learn what we need from documentation. The person that did the original migration took training classes and we did not use a consultant. Thanks for your help.

Well you said the XI environment is old, but if you wanted to an upgrade will keep what you have. We usually recomend migration vs upgrade if a production server is installed but in DEV if all goes wrong, your other option is to reinstall anyway, so might as well try it out.
What I think you will end up doing is migrating from CE9 to XIR2. It's a pretty tall task for anyone to assume they can guide you through a migration of 3 product versions in a simple forum post. This is why it's recomended to use a consultant, as they will get to know your existing environment and all the possible "gotcha's".
The import wizard is your tool for migrating reports, users, groups, folders, and even instances from CE9 to XIR2. You are welcome to perform this on your own and if you have a contract you can always open a message with support if you get stuck.

Moving Creative Suite 4 to new laptop. New download has 9 Pro, old install had 9 Pro "EXTENDED". Don't remember if my boss bought the "extended" as an exrta. BUT, when I go to Adobe and downlaod the "Extended" version, it says I have a better program already installed. The version of Acrobat bundled with CS4 was Acrobat 9 Pro. Acrobat 9 Pro Extended was sold as a standalone product.
If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, then untick the option to install Acrobat when installing CS4, and you can carry on using the standalone copy. Acrobat and CS4 don't actually talk to each other, so installing CS4 won't affect your install of Acrobat unless you force the CS4 install program to replace it.

I am unable to install the new itunes due to the old version (which I uninstalled) still hanging around

My old version was corrupted and would not upgrade. I have uninstalled according to Apple's direction however I cannot install the new version. I even tried a REVO uninstall of all apple products. Each reinstall attempt fails due to the old version. Help appreciated!!! Comments refering me to Apple's (useless) instructions or offering obvious assements are not needed. Thanks!!!

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

You have to use a computer to get from iOS 4.1 to iOS 6,
which is the current version. Any future updates from iOS 6
will be done over the air using wireless. Use the computer of
a friend, Apple store, or at work - if allowed. There is no way
to do the update without a computer and iTunes.

If you bought it from Adobe, your serial number should be under the Adobe ID you used to buy it. Even if you did not get it from Adobe, if it was registered with Adobe, the serial number would be under "My Products" including the serial number of the product you upgraded from.

New issue now. This worked on my old laptop, just can't get it working now on new laptop.
OPEN an Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro EXTENDED PDF template.
Multimedia tab
3D Tool
Create a window for it
Select Capture 3D button
Open the AutoCAD 2008 Model space Window
Click the PRINT SCREEN key
Screen flashes
Back to PDF hit ok
A User Interactive 3D model shows up in the PDF template.
Done.
It seems as the Print screen key is not working.
I did notice a difference in the Extended-EDIT-Preferences-3D Capture- lists AutoCAD Application "path" with acad.exe on old laptop and senddmp.exe on new. ( I have not found a way to edit that to see it it would fix it)
Anything you can think of that I can do to get this working again?

You mean for Office apps? That, I don't know for sure as I don't use MS Office on my Mac. I would check to see if there is some sort of MS Office uninstaller that needs to be run before dragging the icons to Trash. Either from one of the Office apps Help or About or search the Internet for a solution.

All right, why the change? - Even IE9 still displays the 35Kblubox
& all the way upto 60K & maybe more (I decided 60K was as big as I'd need
at the time they were created), but FF15 jams out at 30.5!
Clearly it's a FF15 `issue' & should be restored to its former ability to run at least 60K
pixel or greater jpgs (along the long upright edge)

I am trying to install contact center enterprise 6.0 into a new server ( earlier both call manage 4.3 and enterprise 6.0 were in the same BOX). So now i am upgrading cucm4.3 to 7.0 and installing enterprise 6.0 onto a new server taking backup from the old server and restoring in the new server. and after that i am planning to upgrade the Enterprise version to 7.0. Is this the right way or there is any other way.

Upgrade Oracle 9.2 + HTMLDB 2.0 to 10g + Apex 2.2.1 (new server)

Hi all,
I'm preparing for the migration of an Oracle 9.2 db with HTMLDB 2.0 on AIX 5.2 to a new server with Oracle 10g Release 2 and Apex 2.2.1 running on RHEL4.
I already checked the documentation but i'm not sure what's the best way to do this kind of migration (I have a lot of Oracle experience but never worked with HTMLDB before).
My idea would be to :
- install Oracle 10g R2 on the new server (with the latest patch set)
- install Application Express 2.2.1 on the new server
- import all application schemas into the new server (using Oracle imp utility)
- export the HTMLDB workspaces and applications and import them into Apex 2.2.1 (using Apex import)
Would this be the correct way of working ? Any ideas or recommendations ?

As a fellow DBA I would create your new environment export and import your apps except for APEX (flows_02.??????) or Just Upgrade your environment.
Once your new environment is created reinstall APEX and patches then export and import your app (This has the advantage of cleaning out 1.5, 1.6,2.0etc).
I would also recommend you spend the time and effort reading up on the flashback features, this seems to be greatly over looked feature by DBAs especially if you have developers in your APEX environment.
This maybe what you was suggesting, if so I apologize.

Check with Kaspersky as to what versions of Firefox their programs are compatible with. It is up to Kaspersky to keep their stuff up to date as Mozilla releases new versions of Firefox. And if they are unwilling or incapable of doing it, they should inform their customers of such and maybe refund their customers instead of stringing them along.

Do not know about 5, but, just installed PE 6 on I7 64 bit and it works.
