  • Upgrading from Oracle 9.1.0.8 to Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2)

    Hello everyone;
       We are in the process of looking into  upgrading from our current Oracle 9.1.0.8 to Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2): Windows
    We would like to download and install the 10.2.0.1 base release (Oracle Software).   When I go on SAP Marketplace
    https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/oracle-download  and goto the (Software Download) section and click on
    Oracle 10.2 Software (32-bit versions) to download  I receive a error  NO DATA AVAILABLE.
    Is there another area to download the Oracle Software? or do I need to purchase a CD from SAP or can I download this base release straight from Oracle?
    Thanks for your time and have a great day.

    Hello Pellegrino,
    just download it from the SAP container for each product .. for example
    -> Installations and Upgrades - Entry by Application Group -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 -> Windows Server -> ORACLE
    Regards

  • Upgrading from solaris 9 to 10, with oracle installed

    Hi
    Friends i have salaries 9 on the my machine with oracle and web server configured,
    Now i want to upgrade to solaris 10, any effect to oracle,
    Cheer's

    It should work. You can use live upgrade method but needed some space. If upgrade fails ( should not be ) you can always revert back to original setup.
    But be ready for installation of same version of Oracle , if needed. No need to say backup is must for OS and Oracle.
    You should well aware SMF before upgrdation.

  • NW 7.01 on Oracle 10.2.0.4 - Upgrade Path to NW 7.4 on Oracle 11.2

    Hi all
    One of our clients has a 2-system-BW-landscape (2 physical hosts) based on the following versions:
    * Windows 2008 R2 SP1
    * Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
    * Oracle Client 10.2.0.4.0
    * NetWeaver 7.01 SP7
    * SAP Kernel 7.01 Patch 94 64bit UC
    As you can see 60% of the setup is no longer in maintenance. The client does not have sufficient hardware ressources for a third physical host.
    I wonder what is the best approach (upgrade path) to update to
    * Oracle 11.2.0.4
    * NetWeaver 7.4
    * Kernel 7.41
    * Oracle Client 11.2.0.4
    My inital thoughts:
    Upgrade Kernel from 7.01 64bit UC to 7.20 (non-EXT) 64bit UC
    Upgrade Oracle InstantClient from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4
    Upgrade Oracle from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4
    Upgrade NetWeaver to 7.4
    I know there are a whole lot of SAP Notes about these topics, but maybe one can already suggest a way to go.
    What do you think?
    BR Michael

    Hi Michael,
    These sequence of steps which you described looks good.
    Upgrade Kernel from 7.01 64bit UC to 7.20 (non-EXT) 64bit UC
    Upgrade Oracle InstantClient from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4
    Upgrade Oracle from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4
    Upgrade NetWeaver to 7.4
    Steps 2+3 can be combined together and you will be left with only 3 steps.

  • Do we need to upgrade the oracle 10.2.0.3 to oracle 10.2.0.4?

    Hi ,
    I want know do we need to upgrade the oracle 10.2.0.3 to oracle 10.2.0.4. If so,can you please share the advantages of this up-gradation.
    For your info, we have a prod oracle database on 10.2.0.3 on sun Solaris 64bit.
    Thanks in Advance
    Thanks
    Sri

    We do not know whether you need to but we can advise you with respect to the issues.
    1. If you have a bug in 10.2.0.3 that is fixed in 10.2.0.4 then you should.
    2. If you do not wish to work with software in desupport mode you should really be thinking about moving to 11.1.0.7 before August 1st.
    3. If the application supported by your database supports a higher, more recent, version of Oracle then you should.

  • Database upgrade to 10.2.0.4 error - oracle RAC status showing Invalid

    Hi all,
    I am getting this error during database upgrade to 10.2.0.4 error - "oracle real application clusters status invalid. "
    I am getting the above error after running catupgrd
    and checking the status SELECT COMP_NAME, VERSION, STATUS FROM SYS.DBA_REGISTRY;
    This is not a RAC database and this is the only components which shows INVALID.
    Is it normal? Please advice me the action/steps to take to rectify ASAP as it is urgent ... Thanks & Regards, Deepak Gupta

    Probably database was 9i and it was upgraded to 10g?
    It can be normal situation.
    Please check metalink note 312071.1
    If database is not rac, then simply ignore this status as workaround is quite difficult and definetely it's not worth to go for it.

  • Oracle 8.1.5.1 upgrade to 9.2.0.6 sql - Oracle change or bug ?

    The following query is working on Oracle 8.1.5.1 (result 1 record), but not on Oracle 9.2.0.6 (result 0 record).

  • Possible to install Oracle EBS R12 on existing (shell) Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB?

    Is it possible to install Oracle EBS R12 on existing (shell) Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB?

    user4434301 wrote:
    OK...I could be crazy, but I didn't see doing an installation of EBS R12 on a pre-existing 11.1.0.7 DB in there anywhere. It looked like the regular install directions. Are you sure?If you mean to say if you can install R12 with an existing EBS/standalone database then the answer is No.
    If you mean to say if you can lay down R12 software (to upgrade from 11i) with an existing EBS database then the answer is Yes.
    I hope it is clean now.

  • Why Oracle Names have been discontinued in Oracle 10g

    Hello,
    I wanted to know why Oracle Names is not supported in Oracle 10g? Desupporting Oracle Names in future releases on Oracle is a big decision, as most of the sites still use Oracle 8i for legacy applications, which does not support OID. Translation tunnel between Oracle 8i ONAMES and Oracle 10g OID can be used... but what is the reason for not supportin ONAMES in Oracle 10g?
    Regards
    Sudhanshu

    ONames is an obsolete technology. I suspect Oracle wanted to eliminate the need to support a code line that has an obvious replacement.
    Those customers who still use Oracle8i obviously don't care about being supported by Oracle. Anyone who has a useable support contract will likely have upgraded, especially since Oracle gave lots of warning about desupporting Oracle8i, and even extended the desupport date.
    Besides, there really is no conflict - use ONames for the unsupported legacy systems and OiD for the new systems. Or ... use the Oracle9i ONames & Oracle9i client against an Oracle 10g environment.

  • New Oracle Store is going to replace Oracle iStore

    I have heared that Oracle is looking for some better e-commerce solution over 'Oracle iStore'. They think 'New Oracle Store' is better solution.
    Visit following url - https://oraclestore.oracle.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtdMinisites.jsp
    it says...
    "This application is no longer processing direct customer online orders and has been replaced by the new Oracle Store (www.oracle.com/store). Those customers responding to quotes from Oracle should still use this application to accept the quotes and process their orders. "
    Any thoughts what 'New Oracle Store' might be and how it may proceed to take place of existing 'Oracle iStore'? Recently only they released R12, and there are many customer still on 11.5.10 still planning to upgrade to R12. Should they wait and go for this new better ecommerce solution?
    All ideas are welcomed.

    Yes, you are right.
    Oracle bought over Apex and they are integrating that as Oracle Store. You can see that in following link.
    https://oraclestore.oracle.com/OA_HTML/ibeCZzpHome.jsp
    To get idea about new Oracle iStore, register in following link.

    It would be releasing very soon. but not sure how they are going to continue with Oracle iStore.

    Please let me know what is the solution/work around/suggestion, thanks in advance.

    I run into this problem today and since there is no solution posted for it, I will post my solution to it for future reference:
    This problem appeared all of a sudden - I was able to deploy before - when deploying from JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 onto WLS (standalone version shipped with JDeveloper 11.1.1.4). The solution that worked for me was to copy the needed library - sunjce_provider.jar - from the java jre/lib/ext directory to the domain's lib directory. This will add the needed jar to the server's classpath during startup and allow you to deploy.

  • Oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition oracle.epm.planning.applic

    All,
    Want some pointers to the error that I am running into. The application supports webcenter and when we bring up the web page we get the error below
    oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition oracle.epm.planning.application.ui.DataControls of type null is not found
    caused by the nested error Caused by: oracle.mds.core.MetadataNotFoundException: MDS-00013: no metadata found for metadata object "/oracle/epm/planning/application/ui/DataControls.dcx"
    at oracle.mds.core.MetadataObject.getBaseMO(MetadataObject.java:1279)
    There is no file called DataControls.dcx under the "/oracle/epm/planning/application/ui/ package.
    How do we remove the runtime reference that webcenter still seems to hold onto?
    Any help is really appreciated.

    It supports WebCenter Customizable Components tag library in the ViewController project. The DataControls.dcx file which was under the oracle.epm.planning.application.ui package was still present under the classes folder. Since this file was deleted from the JDEV view it seemed that it should not be included. It worked on my environment but not for others who did not have the file stored under classes folder under the ViewController project.
    I have the problem resolved now. Thanks for all the pointers.
