i m working on upgrade data of oracle application general ledger , upgrade from 11.5.7 to 11.5.10.2 . my work is that i have to transfer all the data
from 11.5.7 to 11.5.10.2 , is there any document or any particular step to upgrade data , please help me urgent .

Upgrading oracle applications doubt

I am upgrading oracle applications from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.1 in linux OEL 5.
I have successfully upgraded the db from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.5. And also new R12.1.1 file system is laid.
Now following upgrade guide, updated pfile as per R12 requirement and started the db with 10.2.0.5. [ Page 3-3 in R121 upgrade guide].
The next step is to apply the patch AD 7461070 [point 9 in page 3-5 page of r121 upgrade guide].
This patch needs to be applied on R12 application owner. But in my database release_name is 11.5.10.2.
How can i apply this patch??

Hi Taher,
1). First Created the R12 code tree. [Installed 11g db. Is this 11g DB HOME is of any use].This is the default ORACLE_HOME which comes with the installer -- You do not need to use it.

2). Upgraded the DB from to 10.2.0.5. So does it mean i can use this 10.2.0.5 with both 11i and R12 just created in step 1.Not at the same time, as you will end up having R12 accessing the database (see the doc referenced above).
3). While applying the AD PATCH 7461070 i should copy adgrants to 10g ORALCE HOME. [not to 11g].

applr12 -> r12 appl. ownerYes, as you are still on 10g.
I am posting the log file here. I knew that i can not apply R12 patch in 11.5.10.2 environment. What i did was i applied the patch R12_8576725 environment.
As you have asked the log file.

I do not think this is relevant to which env file you are sourcing, as the RELEASE_NAME column value is still 11.5.10.2 and it should be 12.x.x (as you mentioned above). Hi we are currently planning to upgrade Oracle Applications RAC 2-node database 10.2.0.4 running on 32bit RHEL3u9 to 11.2.0.2 64bit on RHEL5u6 on a new hardware. Can I have some feedback if this is possible or do we migrate the 10.2.0.4 32bit RAC database to RHEL5u6 64bit using RMAN and then upgrade to 11gR2?

Warehousing Historical Oracle Application Data

We are considering using the Oracle Data Warehousing to store historical data from multiple older 10.7 Oracle Application instances and well as several other vendor systems. The Oracle instances only have G/L, AP or G/L, AP, Purchasing and Inventory applications. We would then use SQL-Plus or PL SQL to extract data, report on data for historical reporting or extracting data for audit purposes. Are there pre-defined processes to copy whole schema from Oracle application databases or would one need to define the process and how much time would be involved to do that? I am trying to decide if this is the best tool to use for the archiving of multiple Oracle instances for historical access.

Is there any possibility that we run 2 Instances of 11i
1.Production and
2.Upgradation Instance.
Production stay live as we perform up gradation on other instance. But both servers have same updated data in Databases.
After up gradation completes we just shut down Production and Live Up-grade Instance.

After up gradation completes we just shut down Production and Live Up-grade Instance. This cannot be implemented as you are going to have live transactions during the upgrade, and you will need to have those transactions/data in the upgraded instance.

I m upgrading oracle application from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3.When the worker one executing the arhdqupg.sql i m getting error.

Upgrade, migrating oracle application. Which is better way?

We have oracle application 11.5.5 run on Window NT 4 Server.
We want to upgrade Window NT4 to Window 2000 advanced Server or Window 2003 advanced Server.
We also want to upgrade oracle application 11.5.5 to 11.5.9 or 11.5.10.
Since we have a new server, we also want to deploy new production on the new box.
How should we go about to accomplish this task?
Is there any good documentation out there we can use to accomplish this task?

On windows
you have to do a upgrade on the server which is having 11.5.4 apply autoconfig enabled patch on it. Ones the autoconfig is enabled then you can start category wise approach and start from cate gory 1 ... in cate gory 2 you have to run rapid install(on new fresh server which is having windows2003) with the option upgrade file system ...thenin thord cate gory you have to upgrade the DB on old server then traanfer the dbf file to the location created by rapid install in category 2 and create the control file and complete the remaining step of category 3 and cateogry 4 ...

Change the application date

Hello My Dear,
What is the effect of changing the date of the application to the previous date.
for example:-
if the oracle application date is 10 Apr and change this date to 7 Apr to enter the later transactions like reciepts.
is there any effect on the cost of items?

Hi,
There might not be change in cost but the accounts will have additional/wrong data.
Inventory Valuation, WIP valuation, Reeving account are few to mention but all these will have wrong $ (i.e. not as per the actual transaction dates happening outside the system).
These are only few to mention, every where and any where accounts hit are effected.
Not to ignore your period being changed status in these days like (Purchasing, inventory, GL, Payable period).
You might also see some error messges while opening forms based on the dates that transactions happened in future date.
P:S: These are somethings which can happen, I have not done this personally to record the results.

Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) to 10.1.3.5.0

I'm trying upgrade Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) to 10.1.3.5.0. Let me give a background first:
I tried to install Oracle AS 10.1.3 but it ran into error because windows firewall was blocking javaw.exe opmn.exe. I had cancelled the installation. So ORACLE_AS1 failed initiatlly. After i identified the issue i installed ORACLE_AS2. This went through successfully without issues. I'm able to login to BPEL Console. But only after executing opmnctl startall in DOS Prompt. I have installed Windows 7.
Now when I try to upgrade to 10.1.3.5.0 the installer automatically selects destination location ORACLEAS1. I change it ORACLEAS2 where (10.1.3) is installed. After clicking on a next i get and issue as shown in the below link:

I am trying to create a BPEL process through JDeveloper10.1.3.4 and using a Oracle Application Service. When using the Adapter Configuration wizard, i am successfully able to connect to the database but when there is an option to select the inteface to the Oracle Application Data for table/views/APIs/Concurrent Programs after clicking Next
I am getting an alert that says you are connected to 11.5.10 instance, Add the database objects.
After clicking in Add - Oracle Aplications Module Browser comes up with Blank values and nothing works here, neither Search nor Browse and just has a cancel button.
Please if some body has faced similar issue or has understanding on it, help me on this.

When I install Portal 3.0.9 from 9iAS R1 from Application 11.5.8 some Portlets that access Oracle Applications data are also installed, right?
How can I have any information about this Portlets before installing them? What is the Oracle Application information that they interact with?? What I mean is, what data I can change or view from Oracle Applications with this pre-build portlets on Oracle Portal?

We have a client that is considering upgrading Oracle U.S. Federal Financials Version 3.3 for Release 11.0.3 to Release 11i.
I've reviewed Upgrading Oracle Applications for Release 11i and it doesn't specifically address Oracle Federal Financials.
