Upgrade OS download ?

I just replaced the superdrive in my macbook on my own and had planned on upgrading to Snow Leopard by ordering upgrade discs. I was wondering if there is any way to get a download upgrade ?

No. You need to purchase the disks.
You can get them from the [Apple store online|http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA&mco=MTc1MTEz NjY] or an Apple retail store, Amazon sells it, I've seen it at Fry's and lots of other retailers.

What steps have you done to try and fix the problem?

Trying to upgrade to os 10.8.5 I now use 10.75 Bot the upgrade and downloaded. But a warning msg said that I need 10.8 first. So trashed the dload, shut down machine thinking to go back and start over.Now the mac won't let me try re-download

Hi - I made a mistake, I guess. I'm tring to upgrade to os 10.85. I now use 10.75. I bought the upgrade and downloaded it, completely I thought... but when I opened it to install it, a warning came up and said I need 10.8 in order to install 10.85. So...after some thought, I trashed the down load and went back to the app staore to find 10.8. the little box by the mountain lion image said 'downloading'/ Sure enough in a remote corner of the screen there was a little box that said it was downloading. arrgh. I'd already trashed what was downloaded in finder . So I figured I'd stop the download in the little box (which I think was 10.8) , turn off the mac. and then reboot, and download the whole thing again.
Now, when I go to the mountain lion image in the app store, and press 'download' It won't let me download at all. ??What to do??

From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ Check for Unfinished Downloads...
You may be prompted to sign in. If that doesn't solve the problem, quit the application and continue as below.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

I may have totally screwed myself but...after installing Yosemite without checking first, my CS4 Design Premium suite wouldn't open. So I deinstalled it, but I only have disks for my old CS3. When I got the CS4 upgrade I downloaded it. What can I do??

So after consulting some forums, I deinstalled it, but I only have disks for my old CS3. When I got the CS4 upgrade I downloaded it, back in 2011... What can I do?? Everything was fine before I upgraded that *#$%* Yosemite.

You can purchase the newest version of iPhoto on the Mac app store. Cost (in US dollars) is $14.99.
It sounds like you downloaded an iPhoto update to take version 9.1 up to 9.3. You can't use it with version 8.x.

Still Unable to Upgrade from Downloads

I am unable to install/upgrade from downloads. Eg., I downloaded iTunes. I got as far as upgrade I clicked upgrade and nothing happened. This happens with all prorams that are downloaded. This topic was previous posted but not resolved. If anyone can figure this one out, it will be greatly appreciated.

Sucessful steps: Introduction, read me and license. I get to easy install and click upgrade which becomes unhighlighted and then returns to the highted “upgrade.” without upgrading. I don”t know if this makes a difference but the file is iTunes.mpkg not the .dmg that you mentioned. Thank you for the response.

Trying to perform a code upgrade on our WLC but receive this error -

I don't see any of the AP's in the download state either viewing through the GUI or CLI.
Has anyone run into this before ? Any suggestions ?

Issue has been reported on some 7.4 and 7.6 codes where the controller will prevent rebooting
thinking one (some) of the AP's is in downloading state even when there are no AP's that show stuck in this process.
To fix this, I had to do a forced reboot on the controller using the command “reset system forced”.
Our controllers are in HA mode so I than forced a fail-over back to the primary.
Once completed I was able to upgrade the controllers.

It will be an App that you personally did not buy using your Apple id ( an App purchase locks the App to the Apple id used to buy permanently, to prevent piracy )
Next time you get the message check which Apps are trying to update ,it will be one or all of those Apps

I downloaded the upgrader as it suggested. However, nothing different happens. I still get the same prompt each time I attempt to open the iphoto (telling me the I need to prepare with the library upgrader.) I have no idea what to do next. Yes, I purchased the upgrade through the apple website, downloaded successfully. When I clicked on the iphoto icon, that's when I got the prompt that said I needed to prepare my library using the library upgrader. I got this from apple website as well. It downloaded, then appeared on my desktop screen as a 'library upgrader' I don't know what to do next? When I click it, it just keeps repeating the download process.

My laptop (HP Pavilion) will not allow me to upgrade or download Firefox without logging in as Administrator, and I don't recall ever setting up a password for Administrator...I'm the only user of the laptop. How can I get around this?

I was trying to upgrade to the newest version of Firefox, and when I downloaded it, and clicked on run, it took me to a login box, where I had to choose whether to continue as current user or login as Administrator. What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

Mavericks upgrade problems - download hanging

Seeking help with curious problem. I've been trying, unsuccessfully so far, to upgrade a mac mini to Mavericks from OS 10.7.5 (Mid 2011, 2.7 GHz Core i7, 8 GB RAM). Download starts and proceeds slowly but ultimately stalls at 1.01 GB downloaded or about 20% of the way into the total download size (5.30 GB). I delete the hung download/start of install out of Launchpad and start again at the app store but the process simply repeats - it starts off well but stops at 1.01 GB downloaded. Most vexing.

the 1.01GB limit is an issue with 2-Wire or BT HomeHub routers. It is either 995Mb or 1.01Gb limits. The workaround is to go somewhere else that doesn't use these routers.

Premiere Pro CS5.5 Upgrade is Downloaded and Installed, but 5.0 Isn't Updating

Hi there. I may be missing something very simple here, but here goes: I already have Premiere Pro CS5 on my system, and I just purchased, downloaded and installed the 5.5 upgrade a little while ago, but CS5 isn't upgrading. It's still opening as Version 5.0.3.
It didn't ask me for my serial number at installation, which made me think it found what it was upgrading, and I've tried restarting, but to no avail.
Any help is much appreciated. Am I missing a step?

Hi,
Premiere pro CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5.5 are installed as seperate programs.
So Premiere Pro cs5.5 might have installed as a seperate program.
Check the all program list for the same.
If you face issues, just contact adobe technical support.

New itunes upgrade wont download

I try to download the new Itunes upgrade and it won't ungrade. I downloads it and starts to install it and it rolls back the installation and says it cant download it to try again. I've tried again many times and it wont install but I get no errors messages to help me figure out why it wont install.
