UPGRADE PARTY! ***TWO YEAR CONTRACTS ONLY***

Now we all know we are SUPER PSYCHED for this new iPhone 4. FINALLY, VERIZON. YOU SHOULDA HOPPED ON THAT BOAT WHEN IT WAS IN DOCK FOR YOU.(You know we had the opportunity to have the iPhone first, right?) Anywayssss, the ones that are happy are the ones that have upgrades. For those that have invested in Androids and phones that have released since last May, but would rather have an iPhone, you're in bad shape (like me). We have signed a two year contract, with no way of getting out of paying a full ridiculous price for another phone. Should Verizon give free upgrades? Anyone else agree? What do you think?
Note: I'm not a fan of haters.

Well what aggravates me is that they are being wishy washy on allowing annual upgrades...which is a legitimate upgrade that is currently on our account.  Other rumors are that the annual upgrade will magically disappear on the 16th.
So why all of a sudden can we not use an upgrade that we rightfully earned (if this is the case).  And if its not the case and we can use it, then please have your website reflect this when we check eligibility for the iPhone...especially when it shows us eligible for any other phone on the site at a discounted upgrade price.
Treat your loyal customers well....give us what we've rightfully earned.

  • Death in family whom just upgraded to new two year contract?

My son passed away on Dec 30, 2014, we traded upgrades from one phone to his in November, 2014. When I called Verizon to find out what to do, she asked if I wanted to turn the phone off, I said I wanted to keep it on for another month so that I could take care of is affairs. All I was doing was asking questions but she put his phone on a month to month, but showed the phone that we transferred the upgrade to as having upgraded in December, Now my husband has a new two year contract and no phone of his choice. I have contacted Verizon on three occasions to get it corrected but as of 20 minutes ago, it has not been changed. What can I do and whom can fix this. ??

Sorry for your loss. When upgrades are transferred the original line that had the upgrade gets it's contract extended not the line the upgrade is moved to. Their contract remains the same. So if your husband transferred his upgrade to your son, your husband's line is the one that gets the new 2 year contract. That is not a mistake, it's policy. If your son's line is now month to month when you cancel the line there won't be a ETF.

  • Upgrade for 1 year contract

My upgrade is coming up at the end of Feb and I want to buy a thunderbolt but only for a 1 year contract.  I know that I won't be able to buy the phone at the subsidized price but I want to know if I can apply my upgrade to the phone for a 1 year contract.
At the end of the 1 year contract I want to buy a new phone with a 2 year contract and get the subsidized price.  Will I be able to do that.
    Thanks!!

I did this today, Annual upgrade date was today, still have 1 year left on 2 year contract. I Tried to get the local store to do the upgrade with a 1 year contract, They couldn't. Apparently Annual upgrades on 2 year contracts can only be upgraded with a new 2 year contract, at least by the retail store and online. I called Customer Service and said I wanted to use my upgrade and by a Droid X at the 1 year contract price. The CS rep had to get it approved by their supervisor to bypass the 2 year contract and sell the phone at the 1 year contract price. So, There are no guarantees you can upgrade at the one year price for any phone, but the only chance is to get CS to override the system for the 1 year contract. Good Luck.

  • Verizon two year contract question

If you sign a new two year contract and then cancel it a week later and pay the early cancel fees.  Do you get to keep the phone or have to return it???

    Ok thanks.
Reason I ask is I'm grand fathered in with unlimited data. And not sure when they will sell it unlocked.  But my girlfriend has a free upgrade but is switching her plan soon to her bosses phone plan.
So was thinking she could use her upgrade and the the iPhone plus on
Preorder tomorrow.  Then in two weeks just cancel the plan. Because wouldn't it be the same as just buying it unlocked after cancel fees?

  • I want to know about two year contract

hai i am sudharsan i am want to know about the two year contract of iphone 5s @99$ at uk but i bought that but i have to go to india for a month .just expalin about that for me

Ask the carrier. The contract is with the cellular carrier, not Apple.

  • What are the terms of a two year contract?

I am trying to get information for my mother so she can start me on a plan, and I wanted to know a few things. When on a two year contract do you get charged fee's if you don't pay your bill right away? Or does your phone just turn off and stays off until you can pay your bill?
I also wanted to know how you pay a two year contract bill. Is it like $50 dollars a month? What are the rates?
Thank you for your help and time

The late fee is $5.  No your phone won't get cut off right away. If you do it too many times it might. Why are you already thinking about not paying a bill BEFORE you even have service?
HOW do you pay? You can mail the payment in, pay it online, pay it pay phone or go to a Verizon store.
$50 a month? HA! Your cost will depend on what you want.
If you wan to know the rates go the the home page of the site.

  • If I purchase a phone online can I get the monthly payment without the two year contract?

If I purchase a phone online can I get the monthly payment without the two year contract?

There is the Edge payment option to spread the full retail price of the phone over the course of two years. It is a payment contract and not a service contract.

  • Three line family plan. How do I cancel the line that's about to complete its two-year contract?

My phone is the primary line for a three-line family plan I share with my wife and brother. My two years is up this month, my wife's two years is up next month, and my brother's is up the month after that. As each contract expires, we want to cancel the family plan and switch over to month-to-month plans. One caveat: I'm abroad right now, so I simply want my service to lapse completely until I return in six months, and I'll worry about my phone then. How do I cancel my line when my contract expires this month? How do I switch my wife and brother's accounts over to month-to-month as their contracts expire?

Hi,  I was just looking into similar circumstances but I want to keep my daughter's line and only suspend mine.  My question is that if I suspend my phone can I still upgrade my daughter's line?  I was laid off and if I don't find another job then I want to cancel my phone but keep her phone active.  Her last phone the screen shattered so I want to renew her contract to get a new phone.  I am thinking of going thru the edge plan since it seems the price with the discount works out to be the same if I go that way instead of paying the full discounted price outright.  Can I upgrade her phone without renewing the contract on my phone?
    Thank you so much!!

  • Early Upgrade to 1 year contract

    Hi!
I am currently 20 months into a 24 month contract.  According to Verizon Wireless I am eligible for an early upgrade, however when I go through the checkout process the only contract type I can select is a 2 year contract.
My question is, assuming I am willing to forgo the NE2 credit and also pay the 1 year contract price for the phone I want, would I be able to extend my contract for just 1 year instead of 2?
    Thanks!

You may have to do this with customer service over the phone, rather than through the website - I think it's entirely doable, just not through the website! (The website doesn't seem to handle unique or out of the mainstream transactions, or multiple transactions, very well!)
My advice, call CS and explain what you want to do. Let us know how it goes....

  • After finding out that iOS 6 won't be alvailible for iPad 1 I have to ask, is there going to be any updates for the iPad one? It's kinda ridicules if our devices just stop being upgraded after two years......

I was quite disappointed when I read their will be no iOS 6 for first gen iPads and am curious as to if they are gonna just stop upgrading it all together, cause if so that's a bit crazy after two years they pretty much just drop the product?? What I want to know is, is there going to be any more updates for the iPad one at all, to update the security features browsing and stuff like that (not all the fancy FaceTime or seri and what not just the basic iPad 1 stuff)? Cause if not that's is a MAJOR waist of money. $800 for two years of use???

While none of us here can say with certainly, it's likely that iOS 5.1.1 is the last version of iOS that an iPad 1 will run.
As to a "waste of money", has your iPad stopped working just because a new version of iOS was released that the iPad won't run? Our iPad 1s haven't just ceased fallen over, even though they can only run iOS 5.1.1, and are in valuable use every day. But perhaps yours did indeed somehow stop being useful. If so, I'd recommend selling it and buying something else that you think would better suit your expectations.
    Regards.

  • Year contract for Standard service; Two year contract for free modem confusing?

I plan to order internet service to my new residence & I have few questions. Since there is only little advantage in speed between Standard and Power option at my location I have to order Standard service ($19.99 for 1 year). There are some questions with “on line order free modem" option. Standard service requires one year commitment, Free modem requires two year commitment.
    - What is a cost of Standard service after this one year commitment?
    - Can I sign for two year commitment & how much it costs?
    - If I stop the service after one year commitment what is the penalty for the modem?
    - Can I return modem after one year commitment and not pay modem penalty?
    I would appreciate any help

I doubt they would take back the modem, but might charge you for early termination.
    Here's my experience:
4 years ago, i had 3mb dsl service w/ a 327w modem and 5 phone filters (paid for shipping) .  i decided to port my phone to verizon's voice wing.  i had received a linksys pap2 voip adapter (paid for shipping). i was then told that if i port my number it would drop my dsl service.  that didn't go through, and i tried to send the equipment back but never able to coz i didn't get any address where to send it to.
i then ported my phone to vonage who just pulled the plug...i had no dsl and no phone for about 1 month, until i located an 800 number to reactivate my dsl service to a dry loop.  i was again sent 5 phone filters (paid for shipping)
I was fine for 15 months, until all of a sudden my speed went down to 2mbit dsl and being told that my line doesn't suipport 3mb.  ??? after 15 months of 3mb dsl service,  my line stopped supporting 3mb.  so i switched triple play to cable a year ago, until my promo expired.  now i'm back to dsl w/ 2mb service and i was sent a new modem 7500 (paid another shipping even i told them that i have my old 327w.  now i have a spare dsl modem in my pile of equipment.

  • Two year contract on original iphone?

I just bought the iPhone 3G and my wife wants to switch her number to my original iPhone. I got two different answers from two different ATT people about this. One says they will just switch equipment and her contract remains the same. The other one says that they will make us sign a two year agreement to switch to the iPhone. How could that be? ... For a one-year old phone? If true, anyone know any way around this?

Though the phone is one year old, it's the PLAN that will be new. Your wife will need to either enter into a 2 year contract when she activates it through iTunes, or you can sign up for the more expensive Pay as you Go option.

  • Firefox upgraded itself and now bookmarks from the last two years can only he "searched" but can't be seen in the list on the side bar or in the manager

I was running 3.5 and firefox did a little upgrade on it's own. Now I can't see any bookmarks I've added after 2009 in the bookmarks manager list or sidebar but if I search something I know I added it will show up with a date when I added it in 2010 or 2011 but I cant see these in the list without knowing what to search for. I only seem to have one "profile" I have tried restoring back to old bookmarks from the weekend with no success, and I even upgraded to 3.6 but no luck. Is there an addon or extension that could be blocking my view of the rest of my bookmarks?

Not sure about the middle click, I only used a two button mouse until recently, and maybe you could have subscribed differently or used some add-on.
Firefox 4 does not at present show the RSS icon in the location bar, but does have a customise option providing a button, or ass-ons can put one back in the location bar.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rss-icon/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rss-icon-in-awesombar/
The listings do still show icons differently if already viewed, and if links are displayed the read and unread ones may display differently. This depends partly on how the page you view is set-up by the feed provider.
My firefox is en-GB edition and default'' Latest Headlines'' http://fxfeeds.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/headlines.xml is the BBC news. The BBC site may have changed the option on that feed, clicking the option is to open individual tabs or all the tabs, there is no separate listing, or explicit news page option now, however left clicking the option ''Open "Latest Headlines"'' at the bottom of the RSS listing goes to the BBC news home http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Compare that with another feed from the BBC :

  • Is anyone else unhappy when upgrading after 2 year contract?

I have been a Verizon customer for 12 years now, always paying on time and in full.  I just upgraded for the 6th time, and am extremely disappointed with the loss of unlimited data AND a $30.00 upgrade fee that has nothing to do with the price of the phone or plan.  It would seem to me that Verizon would want to keep paying customers happy, especially ones with immaculate paying records.  While the person selling me the device (Matt from Hendersonville, TN Verizon store) was very nice and helpful, I couldn't help but feel "punished" financially for wanting to stay loyal to the company and upgrade my device.  Is it Verizon's policy to gouge every cent from it's most loyal customers?  It makes more business sense to keep an existing customer happy than getting new customers.  I've even thought about paying to get out of my current contract to switch.  Anyone else feel this way?  I understand that I'm paying for a service, but I'm already committing to paying $80+ a month for two more years, and they want another $30 upfront without letting me keep unlimited data????  That's a double whammy if I ever saw one....

I've tried to explain this before but I'll make another attempt.
The way a business works is they make the rules regarding how they want to do business.  Then the customer decides if they want to play by those rules.  Now if not enough customers want to play by the businesses rules, the business can change the rules.  Then again the customer decides if he wants to play by those rules.  If enough customers agree to play by those rules, then everyone, (well almost everyone because there will always be a few who complain no matter what) wins.  the customers and the business.  Later, the business can change the rules again and the process starts all over again.
That why competition is good for the consumer.  Some company will always try to do something cheaper and faster.  This works as long as the companies involed can make a profit. (not a bad thing by the way)  Anyone ever try to get a job with a company that wan't making a profit?  Even if you could, would you want that job?
Me, I'm just patiently waiting for the release of my next new phone in the summer of 2014.

  • When your two year contract is up, do you automatically go onto a month-to-month basis, or is your service terminated until you renew the contract?

My contract on my family's plan is up today and I am switching to another carrier, but my new phone isn't in yet, so I haven't activated my service with the new carrier. Will I still get service through Verizon until then on a month-to-month basis, or will I just get cut off unless I start a new contract with them?

As long as you pay your bill you will have service. The 2yr service contract is simply because you requested a phone at a discount which means you have to keep VZW for 2yrs. Once you complete the 2yr agreement you are no longer under a contractual obligation to keep using VZW. You are month to month for that line and also have the ability to upgrade or utilize the Edge program if your account qualifies. If you do nothing your service will stay active as long as payments are made in a timely manner.
