  • Can I Upgrade Photoshop Elements 4.0, Premiere Elements 2.0 and DW CS3??

I have to upgrade my PC from Windows XT to Windows 8.1.
The computer checks say my existing Adobe programs are not compatible with Windows 8.1.
It is possible to upgrade Photoshop Elements 4.0, Premiere Elements 2.0 and Dreamweaver CS3?
    Thanks

You can upgrade to Elements 12 from any previous version.  Just purchase the version you require from either the Adobe website or a store of your choice as either individual programs or as a bundle.

The latest version of Dreamweaver is subscription only however with prices starting at $19.99 per month.

A quick check on the internet however has indicated that Dreamweaver CS3 will run Windows 8.

  • When I open the file menu in Lr4 it no longer says Upgrade photoshop elements.

When I open the file in the library modgule of Lr4 it no longer says Upgrade photoshop elements.I recently upgraded my antivirus software ina download and it had to shut down my system to load. I lost a bunch of files ,folders and presets. The files and folders could be tranfered from elements 11 but I lost that link.No all it says is import from application. Does anyone know whats up?

Download 4.2 Revel blah blah message?  You mean the dialog that asks you to upgrade to 4.2?  I'm not sure why it's dinging - probably another open dialog - but the easy fix would just be to update to 4.2 from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5488

  • Upgrading Photoshop Elements.

    Hello,
I am thinking about upgrading photoshop elements.  Right now, I just have a trial and it will run out soon.  I see on Amazon there is a Photoshop Extended CS5 Student Edition for under $200.
    http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Extended-Student-Teacher/dp/B003D8ZBY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie =UTF8&s=software&qid=1279387816&sr=8-2
But it is normally $1000.  Is that right?  Are there any things taken out of it because it is a student and teacher edition?  Or is it the same product with a different name?  And does it have all the same features as Photoshop Elements plus some?
And should I get that, or stick with the Photoshop Elements for $80?  Thanks in advanced.

    TitanVex,
That is a Mac version  - ok if you have a Mac
You probably need documentation that you are a student or educator
Based on your previous postings, PSEv.8 should meet your needs.
PSEv.8 is available not infrequently for under $80-
Before you purchase additional software, be sure to check out the sysytem requirements.

  • Upgrading Photoshop elements 8

Does anyone know if I could upgrade photoshop elements 8  without having to buy new software?

Well, the Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) Editor in PSE has fewer features than the ACR in Lightroom.  You'll have to look at the feature list on Adobe's Web site for each product to compare; or (even better) download trial copies of each and use for 30 days to see which is more appropriate for your needs.

  • Option to Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog not available (LR5, PSE 12, Win 8)

Hi there. I have trial versions of both Photoshop Elements 12 and Lightroom 5.2 (trial licenses are both still active (i.e. not expired)). I'm looking to import my PSE12 catalog into Lightroom before I plunk down the money to buy it.
I cannot, however, locate the "File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog" option in LR5.
I may have originally installed LR 5 before installing PSE 12. So I uninstalled LR5 and reinstalled it. Still no luck - the option isn't there.
Any other ways to force LR5 to look for the PSE 12 catalog? Will LR5 even recognize a PSE12 catalog?
Your help is greatly appreciated - thanks!
    Note: Using Win 8.1

...But we can also wait and see report from other users.
Unfortunately, there is no doubt that the conversion of PSE12 catalogs has been omitted. It's not the first time : I also had to wait for LR4 to be able to convert PSE11 files. We may hope that Adobe will acknowledge the fact, and possibly solve the problem for future versions of PSE.
Of course, it's not a priority for Adobe: the ability to convert PSE catalogs is mainly a sales argument to make the jump from the PSE Organizer to LR easier. Not so many cases, and anyway you can always write metadata to files in PSE and import later in LR. After the jump to LR, you rarely have more PSE catalogs to convert.
However, maintaining misleading update notes by Adobe is not a good point in favour of LR. I do consider that the ability for LR to convert PSE catalog was and still is a very smart demonstration of the ability to deal with database organizational systems. I also consider that once that conversion process is mastered, the update process for each new Elements version is not such a big deal.

  • Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog option is missing

The File Menu/Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog is missing on my version of LR5.  I've followed the suggested procedure to update the preferences files for both Elements 12 and Lightroom 5, but LR5 still does not recognize that I have an existing Elements 12 catalog.  I assume if it did the option would now be available?
This was the instruction I tried:

  • 'Upgrade Photoshop Elements catalog' menu item missing

    Hi,
I have been using PSE for many years and recently upgraded to PSE8 (and PRE8). In addition, I started playing with the LR3 Beta and realized that I wanted to migrate LR from PSE. I just bought LR3 and now want to import my PSE8 catalog into LR3. The Lightroom Help tells me that I should go to File - Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog (while in Library module), but this menu item is not showing up in my Lightroom... Is my LR3 not detecting my PSE8 catalog installation? How can I fix this?
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

  • I have photoshop 5.5 installed on my old computer, so I purchased a new computer but it will not install, so I purchased the upgrade photoshop elements 13 and premium elements 13 but it will not upload to my computer.

How do I install the new version?

It doesn't sound like you purchased an upgrade for Photoshop.  You say 5.5, which I assume is CS5.5.  Photoshop Elements is a watered down version of Photoshop that is not an upgrade to it, so unless you own earlier versions of PSE and PE you don't have the required qualifying versions to use the upgrades.

  • Upgrade photoshop elements 8 to 11

I am upgrading from photoshop elements 8 to 11 - do I need to uninstall photoshop elements 8 first? Windows 7 is my operating system and I have not purchased the upgrade version

No, you do not need to uninstall, but if you intend to, you should do so before installing the new version.

  • Upgrading Photoshop Elements 10 from existing 8.

I purchased an upgrade --- Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 upgraded to Elements 10. Apparently I did download 10 successfully. However, when I log into my existing Elements 8 to upgrade, I receive a message saying essentially it would not install (forget the exact verbage). How do I "merge" and update? I'm not a Geek, I might add so if someone has infinite patience and can guide me through this, I would truly appreciate it.  It would be excellent to have a tech do this in "real time". Thanks.

    Hi,
If you have the downloaded Elements 10 icon on your computer, please click on it to initiate the upgrade installation.
It will first try to check for a qualifying previous version installed on your computer (which is Elements 8 in this scenario). If it cannot detect the same, it will ask you to input the serial number for Elements 8.
The installation of the upgrade should proceed after that.
In case you still have isuses, please feel free to contact Adobe support using the link below:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/
Once you click on the link, you will see 2 drop down menus asking you to define the problem you are facing.
Choose "I am having trouble downloading or installing my software" in the first drop down and "I am trying to use a single user product I bought from Adobe or another merchant" in the second.
Once done, you will have an option to chat with a support representative. On this page, to the right, you will also have support phone numbers if you wish to call.
    Thanks

  • Upgrading Photoshop Elements 8 Catalog

    I just bought Li
ghtroom 3 and am trying to upgrade my Photoshop Elements Catalog
    into Lightroom 3.  I have over 30,000 photos/videos in
    my Elements Catalog.
I get a message that says "Lightroom encountered problems when trying to upgrade the Photoshop Elements Catalog and cannot complete the operation."
I have already repaired and optimized the Elements catalog and reconnected or deleted all missing files.
Any new ideas, Adobe knows less than me and I just bought this.
    Dan

Check the read me file for LR 3.0 for supported files.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/845/cpsid_84570.html
A notable exclusion from video files is AVCHD video. Unsupported files within your Elements catalog may cause problems.
I have not done an upgrade of an Elements catalog so maybe some else could offer advice if unsupported files are creating a problem.
