Suppose I have a single license Master Collection CS5.5 suite. Can I purchase 3 upgrades to CS6(one in Home, second in Office and third on my Laptop)? I know that Upgrade from retail version to Volume Licensing is valid, but can I upgrade under Retail version itself?
Few say that the quantity needs to be same and few say upgrade to multiple quantities are possible. Which is true? Is there any document on Adobe site which shows this?

Not sure about three (3) licenses but your one upgrade license allows you to install on two machines in accordance with Adobe EULA. This is identical to what you must have done when you bought a full version of CS5.5 which was capable of installing on two machines simultaneously.
To install it on your third machine (i.e. in your office), you will need to buy a full version specifically for that purpose. No sure why you need so many licenses when your laptop can be carried everywhere with you in your BacPac ((some call it backpack). You must have a very big staff numbers using Adobe products when alternatives should be explored to get value for money.

74 upgrade: query properties field: Operation in BWA/HANA

Dear all,
once we upgraded to BW 74 SP09 we experience some issues regarding query properties. In particular some queries are not having same value of field "Operation in BWA/HANA = RSRREPDIR-TREXOPS".
The value of the field in RSRT is different comparing to table. As example query has setting set to "6=exception aggregation (default)" however the corresponding field in the table is blank. My consumption was that all the queries after the upgrade should be set to value "2=Individual access per IProv".
I expected this as per SAP Note "1790426 - Processing MultiProviders in BWA" which saying about official SAP recommendation value of the field.
My questions:
1. Anyone experiencing same inconsistency between table and RSRT value?
2. What is than really recommended value? E.g. in BW74 SP09 the option 6 has a word "default" in brackets.. but above mentioned Note says differently...
PS: our BWA version is 7.20.32.00

N79 firmware upgrade query.

Hi. I'm probably one of the few who have this troublesome phone, and, not wanting to brag, I'm on my 2nd one which is working absolutely fine with no problems at all!
My query is though, should I upgrade to the V.20 firmware when it becomes availiable or keep things as they are?
I only ask because it seems that many who upgraded to v.20 have been plagued with new minor issues which I'd like to avoid if poss.
Be greatful for any thoughts on the matter.

If you are happy with your phone the way it is then that is a good reason not to rock the boat. Firmware update is risky business.
Updates usually only contain bug fixes and sometimes a new feature or two. They sometimes also remove features. What you could do is to check the Changelog for the update andsee if there are any bug fixes or new features in the update that will make a difference to you. Changelogs are not published by Nokia but usually available on other sites so just google for it.
However, if you are like me and have to have the latest of everything then update with your fingers crossed.

Technical Upgrade Query Issue .

Dear ,
We are updating our system from ECC4.7 to ECC 6.0 .
I come across the issue that Queries are not updated in system .
Some of the queries I have resolved by going in transaction SQ01 simply by acivating it and execute but in some of the
objects query name does not exist in old system but report execute there .
In new system 6.0 this not even executing . What the problem that not able to identified .
For example :
Query is this : AQFKSYSTQV000015ZPODET========
Query name is : ZPODET
This is not exist in both the system but its running fine in old system .
Please suggest any solution for this if u have any .

Hi,
This is the most common issue faced during the Upgrades.
1) First go to SE37 and execute the FM: RSAQ_GENERATE_PROGRAM by entering the Query name and the User group.
2) You can get the link for SAP Query and User groups from the table AQLQCAT(local areas) and AQGQCAT(global areas)
3) Finally after the query is generated, you will get the program name as output of the FM.
4) Check this program exists in SE38.
If you want to generate more queries try writing a simple report using the above logic....
OR Simply go to SQ01 and try to generate each query from the menu->Query>More Functions->Generate Program
The same process needs to be done in all the systems(old/new/dev/quality/prod systems)
For your help, AQFKSYSTQV000015ZPODET======== the name of query and user group can be determined as:
First 4 char : system specific
Next 12 Char : User Group
Next 12 Char : Query name.
Wherever names are less than 12 chars then the = are added.

Upgrade Query from 2.2.1 to 3.0.1

We just upgraded to Apex 3.0.1 from Version 2.2.1 and all appears to be functioning correctly but I just have a query regarding the following error during the upgrade, i.e.:
select UPGRADE_ERROR from flows_030000.WWV_FLOW_UPGRADE_PROGRESS where UPGRADE_ERROR is not null;
UPGRADE_ERROR
ORA-02298: cannot validate (FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_COLLECTION_FK) - parent keys not foundIs this something that we need to be concerned about - if so, is there a fix for it?
FYI - in addition to the above, our DBA tracked down that the constraint is actually DISABLED ?

I believe your query has a couple of syntax errors in the concatenation (no space between the case's end and the column alias + a strange concat at the end: "x.NAME ||;") - not sure they were not found by Apex v3 compiler or some characters were mistakenly missed/added in the migration to Apex v4.

R/3 4.7 Unicode upgrade query

Dear All,
I have a very specific and unique query. We are implementing ESS, MSS, MBO for our clients, and in the process have upgraded the production servers to R/3 4.7 version ( Non - Unicode ). We're using EP 6.0 as the front for the same .
My question is as below :
Today the client is not interested in having interface other than english, but moving down the line after 2 years he would like to have a Korean language interface, which might require R/3 4.7 with Koran language unicode and functions converted.
What I want to know is whether this effort in upgrading to the unicode version of Korean on R/3 , before we actually implement ESS / MSS etc is better or should we upgrade to a unicode version 2 years later ?
In either case what are the advantages and disadvantages ?

Personally, I would recommend upgrading to Unicode now.
With your client there already appear to be signs that a non-unicode format is unsuitable for the longer term vision of the company...
What if this long term vision becomes a more immediate requirement and they no longer want to wait 2 years?
Additionally upgrading to unicode would mean that all custom programs would have to be made unicode compliant. This is a Particularly arduous problem if there is any hexa-decimal manipulation within the custom programs...
Within a Unicode system all programs are automatically made Unicode compliant (as long as the appropriate flag is checked in the program attributes)...
Therefore, if you can implement Unicode now then I would go for it

R12 upgradation : query regarding patch 7461070

I have to apply patch 7461070 as a part of upgradation. It's written in patch note that "must apply critical patch 6767273:R12.AD.A before applying the AD Mini pack". But how to check that instruction are not clear.

Run the query in (How to tell what your current AD patchlevel is. [ID 390671.1], under "Release 12 Single Tier" or "Release 12 Multiple Tiers" section), if you are on (Patch 4502962 - R12.AD.A) then you need to apply (Patch 6767273) before applying (Patch 7461070).

UCS B200M2 Version 2.1(1d) to 2.2(1d) upgrade Query

I am planning to upgrade our UCS B-Series server(B200M2) to 2.2(1d) from 2.1(1d).
While i was reading the Cisco document for the upgrade, they were specifying about a bug CSCuh61202 ( https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuh61202 ) .It is saying that "If you are upgrading from a release prior to 2.1(3a) or 2.2(1b), you may be impacted by CSCuh61202.".
But while i am reading about the bug, it that it is saying that the affected version is 2.1(2a)A.
So my question is, should i bother about this bug ,since my current version is 2.1(1d). ????

in our environment also, its full of cisco devices and mostly all devices were affected by this shellshock bash vulnerability. i contacted cisco TAC for querying about all those devices we implemented but since each TAC engineer are specialized on a specific domain...they were unable to answer all. Other wise i need to raise separate TAC for each devices. when i checked their releases before few days, they said that there is no work around at the device side. They asked to harden the firewall and IPS. Actually they released IPS signature to prevent the shellshock attack.
Also you should upgrade both infrastructure and server firmware. Both firmwares should be of same version.
I recommend you to open a TAC request and keep the engineer on hold while you performing the upgrade process.

EHP4 upgrade query

Dear All,
We are planning to upgrade our PRD server. We are upgrading from ECC 6.0 to EHP4 in dual stack (ABAP+JAVA).
We are running cluster in Active Passive mode.
DB + ASCS + APP server on node 1 and node 2 is for fail-over switch and one DI instance on node 2.
We will disable clustering before the downtime phase.
I am having the below queries.
1.We are running ERS03 for abap and ERS 04 for java on node2.
As per SAP Note 1012486 we should disable ERS before downtime phase.
Please advice we have to only stop the instance ERS03 and ERS04 .As in cluster it is not configured.
If we are running startsap command on node 2 it is starting ERS03 ,ERS04 and DI instance.
Please advice how we can disable it

revert this configuration prior to the execution of the
downtime phases of the upgrade, latest prior to kernel switch
phase. The upgrade tool is unable to detect a manual set up of
standalone enqueue servers and, therefore, cannot update them.

first time after the kernel switch. This only applies to
standalone enqueue servers (separately started enserver
process), NOT to officially supported (A)SCS instances.
2.As we are running ABAP+JAVA stack.
As i checked in SDN.. somone suggested the below method to overcome profile issue's.
Please help to understand this.
If you have a SAP level clustering you will face issues while patching your JAVA instance as in profile directory JSPM/EHPi scans for the available profiles and the patches accordingly however when two profiles are found it runs itno conflicts and does not allow you to proceed further - To solve this problem as a workaround you need to move the other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into other directory asay /usr and once your EHPi installation is over move back other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into cdpro directory.
3.ASCS will be required to be stopped manually.Will SAP prompt to stop or i need to do it before downtime phase.

I hope I've understand your questions right...
1)
I think you're right - to stop ERS03 + ERS04 but here you should contact the sap support - to make sure that this is not a big mistake.
2)
You should ensure, that only one profil should be available for the installer - so the installer searches for profiles and your mirror/clusterd systems have several [ more than one ] profiles.
So you should "move the other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into other directory asay /usr " - you have to move your profiles in a temporary directory [ tmp\ ] - so the installer didn't recognise them.
After your EhP installation you have to move the profiles back to the source directory.
3)
The installer will prompt you - but downtime means that your colleagues are not able to work ...
=>sure at all its a good think to make a reboot of the whole server - so you will see that there is everthing fine - profiles, executables etc.
By the way - if it is your first EhP installation you should have one test-system - only for ehp.

General upgrading query of iMac G5 1.6ghz 17" OS 10.4.11

ive just purchased my first iMac as above for my son as his 1st desktop.
im in the process of upgrading the RAM to 2gb and looking into purchasing Leopard 10.5.
could anyone advise whether there are any other 'home' upgrades i can carry out to maximise this unit's potential for online use in 2012? and whether these 2 initial upgrades should give noticeable increase in performance to warrant the spend? i do have an iPhone4 and wish to use this unit for connection via iTunes.
he currently likes to play online games such as 'Minecraft' and we have found it very slow so far...the unit does have the Airport wireless card installed, no bluetooth though.

Upgrading the RAM and the OS will certainly help performance, the highest you can go is 10.5.8 and you will also have maxed out the memory. For a real speed boost, you need to get an intel machine and install Lion.

-Display adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.
Express Card Slot available .
OS : Window 7 enterprise 64 Bit
Query : I am not satisfied with Intel(R) HD Graphics 400 and wants to attach a External Graphics Card/GPU :AMD/ATI HD 6670 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card to it using the express card slot available .
-My concern is if the T430 is compatible with this card or any Higher config Graphic Card if attached .
-If it is compatible what all hardware is needed other than graphics card to to make this attachment work.

Oracle 8.0.6 to Oracle 10G Upgrade Query

Hi,
I have a customer that has Business Objects Release 5.1.x accessing an Oracle 8.0.6 database. They are planning to migrate the database to Oracle 10G Release 2.0
Will Business Objects Release 5.1.x reports run off their upgraded Oracle 10G Release 2.0 database or will Business Objects have to be migrated as well ?
Any pointers or links on this will be very helpful.

BO5.1 is not supported with Oracle10g so the user has to upgrade their BO version too.

Broadband Upgrade Query

Hi I would like to upgrade my broadband and calls package from option 1 to option 3 because I want unlimited broadband. I already have the latest hub from BT but as the package upgrade total page appears it shows a £6 delivery charge for the same hub I already have. I can't find a way to take the hub off and I dont want to go through with the order incase I'm charged £6 for delivery of something I already have.
Anyone upgraded their package and had this issue?

PhotoShop CS 3 & CS 4 Upgrade query

I have some legitimate copies of After Effects & Photoshop CS4 - however, I just discovered that they are only upgrades. What is the easiest/cheapest method of acquiring CS 3 licenses?
Here's the background: I work for a TV company in London. The software was never registered as the editors who used it weren't on an online network (to protect the broadcast servers & media). We have moved over to Adobe CC and I have been given the software to sell. I don't have proof of purchase, although I do have all of the serial numbers. We purchased it form a reseller along with other software and hardware. The entire IT department who were employed when we bought it are no longer with the company! It's a perfect storm... I have had a few online chats with Adobe customer support, and whilst helpful, they won't do anything without proof of purchase...
Summary: I need to acquire legitimate licenses for PS & AE CS3 to enable my CS4 upgrades to work - what is the simplest way of achieving this?

If you have any legal version of Photoshop older then CS4 you can use its serial number when installing your CS4 upgrade. It is very hard to find legal copies of old version of Photoshop for sale. They were either used to upgrade or un-sold returned to Adobe. Adobe does not market old versions of Photoshop other then CS6.
Your upgrade need prior version serial number to upgrade. You stated it was used. That user registered it to use it either online or offline to activate it and needed a prior version to do so.... CS4 does not run if its not activate after 30 days. You will need that user to transfer the licence to you. Transfer an Adobe product license
In case you don't know it is possible to do off line Offline Activation
Note. If you do get your hands on a legal prior version of Photoshop you may not be able to activate your CS4 upgrade if it was use previously and not deactivated.....
You also stated it was some company's copy of Photoshop in that case there may have been a site multi-seat licence involved.

Cs3 to cs5 upgrade query

I have CS3 (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and am looking to upgrade to CS5 Design Premium. Is this possible even though I don't currently have Fireworks, Flash or Dreamweaver?
