Upgrade schedule?

Is there a fairly fixed upgrade schedule?  I see that the current version of Muse has been out 6 months, and I don't want to buy a couple of guide books that will be obsolete in 3 weeks.
Thanks

  • Adobe's Upgrade Schedule

    Hey everyone,
Do you know if Adobe releases an upgrade schedule for Captivate? It seems like new versions come out every year and while they are always worth upgrading, it costs our company a ton of money to upgrade all of our users every time. I want to make a case for us to upgrade to Captivate 5 because I want to be able to use it on my Mac and it does seem a lot more efficient with the new platform. However, if Captivate 6 is going to come out in six months or a year, I'd rather wait. We already upgraded everyone to Cap. 4 earlier this year and IT is starting to give me dirty looks when I even say the word Captivate now because they know I'll be asking for an upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Kristen

    Gary,
Does that fix only apply to dissolves between stills on two tracks, or is it also required for, say, 30-40 stills on the same track for example?
I'm testing CS4 trial, and the thought of having to set a null opacity key on each and every successive dissolved still would drive me up the wall. I have a couple of clients who require long still sequences in between video clips. Is this part of the 'stills problem' I keep hearing references to.

  • R2 to R3 upgrade Schedule Date Format Changed

We recently did an upgrade from BOXI r2 to R3. We did the installation wizard using the r3 image to the same server.
What we have noticed now is that all the schedule dates in the CMC for our reports have changed format from US to EURO. 01/13/08 to 13/01/08
We are still on the same server, and it appears that the time format is comming from our web server now.
Dose anyone know how to change the date format on Tomcat to reflect standard US time and Not Euro.
Or if this isnt the case where else could I check for date formats, we have checked the CMC, the Server itself and the Preferences.
    Thanks

  • DPM 2012 R2 Upgrade - Scheduled jobs not running

    Hi,
We're having an issue after upgrading to DPM 2012 R2 where the scheduled jobs are not running.
    We're running Server 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Looking at SQL jobs, if we run the job step we get an error.
    Message
[136] Job 18822c3e-8fe 7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 reported: The process could not be created for step 1 of job 0xA746B176EAD99943A14A57DAF684829F (reason: %1 is not a valid Win32 application)
However, if we place quotes around the triggerjob.exe path in the SQL default job step:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\DPM\DPM\bin\TriggerJob.exe" 9b30d213-b836-4b9e-97c2-db03c3eb39d7 18822c3e-8fe7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 server.domainname.com
    It is successful.
We've already uninstalled DPM 2012 R2 and re-installed, restored the database and run dpmsync -sync with the same result. We've checked the DCOM Config Launch and Activation Permissions for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager Service
    and has full access.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Verizon OS upgrade schedule and features

Hello all. I have an 8330 with Verizon and updated to the 4.5 Os last year. What I was interested in is finding out what is coming down the pipe and when it will be officially released? What OS versions are coming out, when they are coming, and what cool things are being added/fixed, etc.
Anyone know where I can find this information?
    Thanks.

No one knows Verizon's schedule... no one but them.
Last month Sprint released OS 4.5.0.131 for the 8330, so you can read this thread for any mentions of upgrades to that version (which is usable on your VZW 8330 as well).

  • Upgrade scheduled for 1-21-12..could I do it 3 weeks early and still get upgrade pricing?

My upgrade date is 1-21-12..My fiance wants to come on a plan with me and her current contract with another company end on Jan 3. Would I be allowed to get my upgrade pricing a little earlier if I am adding a line and changing plans?
Also, we are not looking at IPhones..actually looking at the LG envision. Anyone have any clue?
    Thanks in advance

You can ask, but probably not.  It depends on if you get a sympathetic rep, and if they say yes, I would upgrade with them immediately.
Also, we are not looking at IPhones..actually looking at the LG envision. Anyone have any clue? That makes it more likely, but not certain.

Each line has its own contract, so you can add your wife and get her a phone now without interfering with your upgrade.

  • Effect of SAP R/3 upgrade on Delta Queue

    Hi Gurus,
We have our SAP upgrade scheduled to go-live in some time. My problem is that we have 2 loads based on Direct Delta queue concept.
As per my understanding, the approach that we need to follow is that we should get all the users locked and then load the data into BW system from delta queue. Once this is done and the delta queue is cleared, we can bring the R/3 system down for upgrade.
The approach adopted for Upgrade is Downtime minimised, wherein for most part of upgrade, system will be down and for some part of upgrade the production will be up and running. In such a scenario where system will be up and upgrade will be running simultaneously, will there be any impact on the delta queues or rather shall I say that 'Will the delta queues affect upgrade process'

Hey.  In my experience, you never want the system to be "up" during an upgrade.  You will, or have, probably run accross the problem in dev or QC with doing the upgrade while the delta queues are populated.  You will often get an error message that queues still have data to be transfered.
So I guess the simplest answer is that you do run the risk of having problems with the upgrade.  If thre is no choice but to do the upgrade partially doing productive hours, I would just clear all the queues and hope for the best.  Not a great answer, but not sure what the best answer would be in your scenario.
    Thanks

  • Upgrading a imac, what will I need?

    I have a Imac DV SE 400 graphite G3 running OS9
Model is standard out of the box
    Ram: 128MB
    400 Mhz
    PowerPC processor
    13 gb hard drive
    slot loading
My question-I would like to be able to run 10.3.9 or higher, burn DVD/CD
obvioulsly have a bigger hard drive, to accamodate creative suite, quark, etc.
can anyone give me a list of what I would need to buy?

    Hi Stacy,
    Welcome to the discussions.
10.3.9 is the highest Panther that exists. The requirements for Panther are found in:
    http://www.apple.com/support/panther/install/
Provided you have sufficient hard drive space, you could install Panther directly onto your system now.
To go higher than Panther, you would have to use Tiger. The Tiger requirements are:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301341
You would need to upgrade the RAM to at least 256 mB to install Tiger. You would also need either a DVD drive (because the Tiger installation normally ships out in DVD) or you could obtain Tiger Installation CD's via the Apple Media Exchange Program.
Your upgrade schedule would be as follows (in order):
    1. Firmware Check/Upgrade - make sure the firmware on your G3 is up to date (this can only be updated via OS 9, with only the original RAM chip installed). Firmware is available via the Apple Website.
    2. RAM upgrade (go to http://www.crucial.com to check out your options), but be sure to keep the original RAM chip somewhere safe. OS X is a RAM hungry system, so the more RAM you can get, the better.
    3. Hard Drive upgrade - you can use any IDE drive up to 120 Gig. It would be good if you could find (borrow) a Firewire Enclosure to temporarily put the new drive in, format it and then drag your existing system (OS 9) onto it. You can then swap the drives and you should be able to start up the computer using the new drive. You should then upgrade your OS 9 to 9.2.2 (via the free ugrade downloads on the Apple Website).
    4. DVD Drive - I would recommend an external Firewire DVD burner (Sony or Pioneer). Software that would assist you includes products such as Roxio Toast.
    5. Basic OS X installation - You must obtain the Retail Installation of OS X (whether Panther or Tiger). Do not try to use installation kits that originally accompanied a machine.
    6. Bringing the OS X up to date - Having installed OS X and got your internet connection sorted out, I would recommend that you open Software Update and note what further installations are required to bring everything up to date. Do not install these updates via Software Update, rather go and download them from the "Downloads" section of the Apple website, and store them somewhere safe and run them from there (that way, you don't have to download them all over again if you have to re-install your system for some reason). Be sure to repair permissions before and after each installation.
So your shopping list would be:
    1. Suitable RAM chips
    2. New Hard Drive
    3. External Firewire DVD Burner
    4. Retail Version of OS X Installation (either Panther or Tiger)
    Have fun!
    Cheers!
    Karl

  • Upgrade all at once or not?

We are planning to upgrade from SAP R/3 4.6C to SAP ERP 6.0..
Our other running modules are CRM 4.0 - BW 3.5 - Portal 2004s. We also use sap internet sales b2b and b2c
What should be the upgrade schedule for all modules? Upgrade all at once? If not what sould be the order ?
Thank you all for your replies ..

what should be the order of upgrades ?
first of all we will begin with R/3 and plan to go on with CRM
after CRM upgrade, BW and Portal will be upgraded..
    the order is :
       R/3
       CRM
       BW
       PORTAL
    but some say that :
upgrade R/3 and CRM together and after that upgrade BW and Portal together
    what is your opinion ?

  • BI4 Schedule Error

    Dear Experts,
I scheduled a WebI repor and it was running fine until today, today suddenly it start to throw error. Below is the error message:
BI4 SP2 Patch 4 Installed on Windows Server R2 Enterprise with Tomcat
Error Message: class com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.internal.SchedulableCategoryContentInfoObject:sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader@11cfb549 incompatible with interface com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.desktop.common.IPublicationInfo:sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader@11cfb549
    Thanks

    Hi Denis,
It was only installing SP2 Patch 4 to server. The day after upgrade scheduled reports started to fail. When we realized that we install Patch 5 but it was same, then we uninstall both and tried but failed again. Upgrade to Patch 5 but again failed.
Lately we redeployed the BOE, but it's still same error.

  • CSA 4.0 hosts not accepting Scheduled Software Update

I have a few CSA 4.0 hosts which are members of a group that has a scheduled software update attached to it. Even though there is a 5.0 upgrade scheduled, the hosts show the following.
Product information: Cisco Security Agent Version 4.0.3.716
Software: Agent is running the latest software
I have removed the hosts, re-added the hosts, created a new group and a new scheduled update.
    Any suggestions?

OK, so the polling interval of the host(s) match what the group has, the update is scheduled for the group and the MC still doesn't show an scheduled or available\needed update for those particular hosts.
There are a few reasons this might be so:
#1 the hosts is running an unsupported OS platform (XP SP3).
#2 is sometimes hosts won't accept an update schedule if they are in test mode AND the original group the agent kit put them in to is gone.
#3 is a CSA version mismatch, the version on the host doesn't exist on the server (but I think you ruled that out).
Not much else I can suggest without actually sitting in front of it.

  • Project compatibility: Leopard vs. Tiger, PowerPC vs. Intel

Gotta question... We are about to upgrade our older edit bay to a new mac pro, but it is VERY IMPORTANT to us to continue to share project files. The newer one is a G5 with OS 10.4.11, and obviously the new one will be a Mac Pro with 10.5.
Is there any published information on whether FCP 6.0.2 and Motion 3.0.2 projects are fully compatible across Leopard/Tiger machines and across Intel/PPC machines? I could not find any searching Apple's website.
I'm guessing some of you with rotating upgrade schedules have already faced this question!

Its not the OS version or PowerPC/Intel architecture that matters. Its the version of Final Cut Pro that matters. If both computers are using Final Cut 6.02 for example, then the project files will be exchangeable. On the other hand, if one machine has FCP 5.x and the other has 6.x, then the newer version will open the older version file, but once you save it with the newer version, you can't go back to the older version.
There are also some differences within major versions. Sometimes one 5.x release is not compatible with a 5.y release. I can't recall where the breaks were made. But it doesn't matter if you have the same point release on both machines.
If you mix Intel/PowerPC, then you'll at least need both machines to have FCP 5.1 or later since earlier versions aren't compatible with Intel processors.

  • Windows 10 Enterprise Edition: Installation and Development Environment Essentials: Thoughts & Assistance Req:

    Hello,
I am in the architecture planning stage of my project and seeking personal and general good advice from Mircosoft engineers.  I am laying the foundation stones of a new development product using at least three more new technologies that are
as new as Windows 10. Their are also around four or five technology partners with the latest version of their software that I wish to take onboard. Due to the sensitive nature of the project it is not wise for me to state each piece of technology used,
so I will be as accurate as possible using the limited means I have.
I wish to make a "closed" development environment, with the latest build (currently 9860), install the new software. Some of which installs fine, some of which is not compatabile with Windows 10. Regarding the latter I am in discussions with the
technology providers to make a work-around and hammer and chisel through every issue. Very soon I hope to have a fully stable working development environment which paves the road to a first prototype. So i need to make a decision soon to "lock
down" everything. I will miss Windows 10 updates but the advantage is when the project vertical slice is complete, the feedback and benefit will be larger for Windows 10 final product.
This is probably my fifth or sixth early evaluation of the Windows platform and I am aware of the highs and lows of working with various versions using new builds, from the stability of win98 (becoming 2000 - minus millennium 1999 edition), to the quick uninstall
of vista (it broke our internal projects). The solid bedrock of Windows NT (becoming XP) and so on. The good news is Windows 10 seems very good indeed.
    My questions are two:
    1) Would the windows team recommend a closed environment development in my situation, and are they aware of other developers doing it (is it wise from your end)? Is their a pool, can we communicate directly?
    or
    2) Would you recommend an open environment instead? Every install is updated, everything is all on-line and networked, this may lead to more breakages and sacrifice the finished product.
The problem with approach number 2 is that a particular technology  may work with this build, but not the next one and vice versa. I will constantly be playing "bunny hop" trying to make it work.
The problem with using number 1 is that you can have a "false dawn" view of the project, meaning you have managed to get it stable and develop code that fits that environment and build, but as soon as you do update six months later, it breaks due
to feature change, it means massive re-work, ultimately breaking the product again.
I have seen these approaches drown larger projects and wash away whole development teams.
Its a tough one and a part of my R&D but very soon I need to make a decision.
To explain more, some of the technology used will be:
Windows 10 Enterprise - Perforce - Office 365 with Exchange Activ Synch - Any associated Intel CPU and GPU monitors.
In other words very stable and solid technology. Their is about an equal number of other techs that are not so stable but I am slowly getting to work under Windows 10.All feedback would be given to Microsoft, regardless of environment 1 or 2.
Any advice and help from the Microsoft Team is greatly appreciated.
    Yours Kindly,
    Asad

I recently went to an Enterprise Mobility Summit Microsoft was holding at one of their facilities, and they spoke a bit about the future of Windows 10 - and here's what I left with: Microsoft isn't really sure themselves what kind of updating scheme they're
going to be doing with Windows 10.  They had some ideas, but they're looking for feedback from enterprises and engineers about their plan.
I don't think it was under an NDA, so I should have no problem discussing it:  their idea was to have different tracks (based on the user) with different upgrade schedules based on what the administrator deems appropriate for that user.  For instance,
a consumer would have their OS automatically updated as soon as the update was available. while enterprises could stagger their users to a more manageable 3-month or 6-month schedule.  Microsoft wasn't sure how long to make this stagger schedule - talk
of a 1 year stagger were floated, but nothing concrete.  Critical devices, like POS or ATMs, could be setup so they would never be upgraded, or only upgraded when the administrator specifically allows them to be upgraded.
For you personally, it sounds like a closed development environment is better, since you're testing critical business applications.  Again, one never knows exactly what direction Microsoft will take, but with the amount of conversations and...
warnings that dropped by various people at this meeting, it's pretty safe to say that they'll be some sort of timed release schedule for enterprises that you can prepare for.
    Hope that helps!
